Hi Alex – these will please – I look forward to A Quiet Place Part Two – sounds interesting. I await the next Bond … and excellent I await your announcement – as long as you haven’t completely squashed it flat by sitting on it?! All the best - Hilary

Wow, I didn't realize they were doing "Maverick!" Talk about a long period of time in between sequels!

I need to get back to the "danger zone" - of course, Maverick. And I love ScarJo - ready for Black Widow to kick butt. Not up on my monster trivia. My brain has been frozen mush this week - climbing back to "normal". Supposed to be 70 again today.
Can't wait for your great news....cliffhanger....

Hi, Alex!

Jungle Cruise starring The Rock seems like my kinda thing.

I enjoyed taking the monster music quiz.

"Bark At The Moon" - Ozzy

"Dream Warriors" - Don Dokken from the OST of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors starring Patricia Arquette.

"Living Dead Girl" - Rob Zombie (I have the CD.)

Have a great week, good buddy Alex!

I don’t care for the Vin Diesel flick but love to see the rest especially Bond, James Bond. I hope and pray they do not pick Gillian Murphy as the new James Bond..not even sure I spelled his name right. I don’t think I will see the monster one where they have to be silent..too scary for me. I love the original King Kong vs Godzilla film. I wonder if the 2 monster, after they obliterate Tokyo and the SAN Francisco bridge, get. Huge cup of coffee and go walk, arm in arm to a nice secluded island? I won’t attempt the music but I bet Rush will be in there, as for films...1. Alien 2. Batman Movie. 3. Underworld?? Or maybe the Wesley Snipe Vampire Film?? 4. No clue. 5. Fright Night 2 5 onwards...no idea. Looking forward to the answers.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Hilary, hopefully I haven't squished it!

Elizabeth, a really long time...

Joanne, you need some thawing.

Shady, you got those!

Birgit, nice try. And believe it or not, no Rush.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Dune. It's been a lot of years since I read it, but I think it will be a challenge to do well! Might be time for a reread :)

I'm always excited for Minions! :) And I'm looking forward to A Quiet Place Part II.

Recently watched Freaky, starring Vince Vaughn, and really enjoyed it. Reminded me of Scream.

So good Alex you're still able to review during these times. Some excellent choices here.

Yvonne.

Good list. Maverick and Dune certainly caught my attention

Elephant's Child said...

Really good news? I am looking forward to that - and smiled at Hilary's comment.

Natalie Aguirre said...

Maybe I'm just not in the right mood, but none of these sound really great to me. Hope you enjoy some of them.

Andrew Leon said...

I'm mostly just waiting for Black Widow.

J E Oneil said...

The sequel to A Quiet Place actually looks interesting. I might have to actually watch that. I only got a couple of the movie trivia. Clearly I need to up my game.

Liz A. said...

I'm curious about Black Widow and Maverick, but that's about it. I'm not really a movie person, I've found.

Is the last one Tremors? That's my guess. For 4, I'd guess Gremlins. But both of those are wild guesses.

kaykuala said...

Godzilla and Maverick would be good reminders comparison-wise. Stay safe Alex!

I have to say after watching Top Gun a million times growing up I am curious about Maverick. Not sure how it will be- but curious for sure. :)

Very excited to hear your good news next week! It's funny how Disney keeps making movies of their rides, but Pirates of the Carribean showed it wasn't just a joke.
I'm hoping our old-time movie theater will open again soon, so I can see some of the new movies coming out.

Rawknrobyn.blogspot.com said...

That graphic for Godzilla vs Kong is awesome. I'll wait til you review it, though.
Thanks, Alex.

mail4rosey said...

I want to see Kong. I know a couple of the song. "Bark at the Moon" was Ozzy and "Godzilla" was Blue Oyster Cult. :)

Joylene Nowell Butler said...

I've been buried in editing work and have no idea what's out there. Guess I better surface. Thanks for the reviews, Alex. You make it easy for me to choose.

Karen Lange said...

Hi Alex,
Stopping by to say hello! Hope all is well with you and your family. Thanks for the info and links. You always keep us informed. Much appreciated! Have a great week!

Chemist Ken said...

Man, I've been hearing about these movies for so long, it's hard to believe they're really on their way. Looks like we may be getting out of our house this year.

Michael Abayomi said...

Aside from Godzilla vs Kong, I'm not too confident that most of those movies would be keeping their (current) release dates. That said, I'm also looking forward to every single of them.

Donna K. Weaver said...

I'm excited about Dune and glad they're giving two movies to tell the story. Hopefully the creators will have, you know, read the book.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Madeline, thanks for letting me know.

Liz, you got two right!

Jenni, they make one out of the tea cup ride and they've gone too far!

Rosey, correct!

Ken, getting out has been limited.

Michael, the numbers have shrunk so fast already, I bet they keep their dates this time.

Donna, we can only hope!

Nilanjana Bose said...

Films have gone right out of my life since covid hit. Maybe back again this summer? Hopefully...

Intrigued by your news...suspense!

Have a great week.

Patricia Stoltey said...

Dune and No Time to Die will be on my list. I need to read Dune again first, though. I always like the books better than the movies.

Cathrina Constantine said...

So Many Good Movies!!! I am soo looking forward to these!!! I can only pray the theaters will reopen. Still closed here.

Sandra Cox said...

One of the first things I hope to do after getting the second vaccine is to go to the theater.

Patsy said...

At last, the night has a hero – Is that Batman? I think I've heard that line, and I have watched at least one Batman film, so it seems like a reasonable guess.

Tyrean Martinson said...

I'm looking forward to most of these movies, but our area is barely in phase 2, or a modified phase 2. It's slow-going. My hubs and I are going to try the local theater this week, to see WW84 in their Imax theater - the only one open right now. So, I am a bit behind, but I refused to watch it via online streaming. (I'm being a bit stubborn about certain movies like that.)

Katherines Corner said...

Trivia, first one I remembered was from Tremors! I have them all. They are some of my favorite movies. They say there’s nothing new under the sun. But under the ground (you'll find graboids).
The Thing with Kurt Russel-The ultimate in alien terror and Cute. Clever. Mischievous. Intelligent. Dangerous. Gremlins! Don't feed them after midnight ( smile).
I'm looking forward to a Quiet Place 2 and Godzilla versus Kong. But do we really need another Dune?
Send hugs across the miles stay safe!

mshatch said...

Lots of good movies coming. Especially looking forward to Black Widow. Drawing a blank on the monster movie trivia, Alien, Gremlins and maybe The Thing, and Batman...?

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Cathrina, that's crazy! Even ours have been open for six months.

Patsy, close!

Tyrean, you will appreciate it on the big screen. Stunned you guys are still stuck in that phase.

Katherine, you got those right!

Marcy, got two right.

Beverly Stowe McClure said...

I am so out of it. Haven't been to a movie in ages. Maybe one day...

Steven Arellano Rose Jr. said...

The 1984 tagline was Gremlins, the 1982 one I want to say was the b flick Galaxy of Terror but that sounds too similar to the tagline so I'll say the other Alien knock-off movie which is Creature. The others I'm not familiar enough with.

Steven Arellano Rose Jr. said...

Now for my answers to the monster music trivia. Again, I'm only familiar with two: Godzilla was Blue Oyster Cult and Bark at the Moon was Ozzy Osbourne. I'm not into Ozzy's music (I'm more into Blue Oyster Cult's) but a friend of mine in junior high was and so that may be the only reason I remember! Lol

Magic Love Crow said...

Great news?????
That is a lot of movies! Wow! I think Maverick and No Time to Die, are my top two I would like to see! Take care Alex!

Pat Hatt said...

Sure some good ones coming, hopefully. I have my doubts Dune will be any good though, after that last crapfest they can only get better though, hopefully.

1. The Thing
2. NightBreed..I think
3. Lake Placid
4. Gremlins(no critters entry? lol)
5. Evil Dead 2
6. Cloverfield(still haven't watched it)
7. Pan's Labyrinth
8. Tremors

Mary Kirkland said...

Godzilla vs Kong is what I'm looking forward to the most right now.

John Wiswell said...

There are so many cool-sounding movies on the horizon! As a kaiju junkie, I can't wait for Kong Vs. Godzilla. I also wish F9 was going to be available to stream on release day because those movies are such fun.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Stephen, you got Gremlins right and both songs.

Pat, you nailed it!

John, I will be hitting both in the theater.

Steve said...

Great movies and looking forward to more have a great weekend.

SpacerGuy said...

I'm pretty much going to see all of the above movies on your list. Also, I'm intrigued by the tease of the great news. I will be checking back soon.

Lidy said...

Can't wait for the new Godzilla and Black Widow movie. I'm hoping against hope that they'll bring back Natasha Romanoff back to life. But probably not likely to happen. Sigh, I can dream though.

Just playing catch-up before checking out IWSG Day.
Great post- I guess 2021 plans to make up for 2020 in terms of movies. Exciting. Some good trivia. I know one is Gremlins but I'm not confident in my other thoughts. Will have to see the next post.

Lynn La Vita said...

Congratulations on CassaDark being picked up by your publisher.

Joylene has a unique way of inspiring and kickin' butt. Nice to give her special credit.

Debra Renée Byrd said...
