The Babadook Movie Review
A single mother battles her son’s fear of a monster and her own pain.
This movie has been getting a lot of press, so I decided to check it out on Pay-Per-View.
The result is a mixed bag. It has great atmosphere and some really tense moments, but there is a lot of confusion. Starting with where does the Babadook’s book come from? What was up with the tooth? What did it all mean?
Just what is the Babadook? A real evil presence or all in her mind as she tries to deal with past trauma? I’m still not sure.
The kid was annoying as well. He needed a shrink or a bop upside the head. Preferably both.
However, should things not work out for the Babadook, he has a great career making children’s pop-up books ahead of him!
Dodgy.

Mini-Alex and the Turkey
Thanksgiving decorations are appearing at my house and Mini-Alex was conned into appearing with a turkey:
And for those of you who are new and wonder why I have a miniature version of myself, it was the creation of Elise Fallson two years ago. She made Mini-Alex, posted pictures of him for the Cheersfest, and then graciously sent him to me. Deniz Bevan then knitted a scarf and sent it to him. Thanks again, ladies!
Mini-Alex would still like a Mini-Kate someday.
And to give credit where credit is due, my wife comes up with most of the ideas for the photos.
Music Sample
Yes, many of you have told me you want to hear me play. I know I’ve drug my feet on this. I think I am more nervous about sharing my music than I am my writing. I’m such a perfectionist and I want to post something both amazing and flawless for you. I promise I will pick something soon and work on it until I am comfortable recording it. Might take a couple dozen recordings, so be patient! Never rush a perfectionist with a guitar…
Entering the giveaway on Goodreads? Has anyone else seen The Babadook? Nominating someone for Karen’s awards? Ready for Monday’s blogfest? Get any of the robot movies right? Ready for Thanksgiving? Anyone else care to hound me about my music?
I’m not posting on Wednesday (work promises to be hectic) but I will be back on Monday!

Really, a Mini Kate? Well, somebody is perverse enough to provide. This is the blogs, ya know.
Man, I was sure hoping to win a review copy of the Dragon book, love dragon things. Oh Well, Congrats to Michelle.
I'm so far behind on things. I've been getting ready for a T-Day bash.
Later Dude :)
It's sad the Goodreads-giveaway is US and CA only. :(
Awesome how good your book is doing on Goodreads. And would love to hear you sing when you're ready.
This is my favorite cover yet!
I finally saw "Edge of Tomorrow" because of your rec. :) Very good! And I'm not a Tom Cruise fan (maybe that's why I liked it so much?)...
Maybe a Mini Alex and Mini Kate could look at the book What the Dinosaurs Did Last Night. (Toy dinos come "alive" and get into lots of trouble every Dinovember during the nights.) I'm sure they could find inspiration from that!
That Babadook movie looks and sounds intriguing. Your new book has such a cool cover!! I like it!Mini-Alex and the Turkey rocks!!!
Fantastic post on Milo's site. Persistence is key. Hm, maybe I'll have to wait on seeing The Babadook with all those inconsistencies. I saw Maleficent on the weekend and I really enjoyed it. Beautiful rendering. I think if I get a good week of writing in, I'll be prepared for the Thanksgiving visits. Have a good week!
Congrats to you and Dragon of the Stars! And congrats to Michelle, lucky lady. :) I've voted and now I've got to get back to my writing trenches.... :)
Love the decorations and mini-Alex. I'm still trying to catch up with everyone I missed during my computer melt-down. Not joining in any reindeer games right now, but soon.
Congratulations on Dragon of the Stars! And I am looking forward to hearing you play- don't worry about it being perfect, just let it rip!!
I have a few Thanksgiving decorations up - a couple of the pumpkins make an easy transition from Halloween to Thanksgiving. :)
I for one would love to hear you play :)
Well at least you gave your wife credit. The cat gets the credit for the litterbox one though lol
Sounds like a rather strange and skippable movie.
Mini-Alex looks like he's ready for Thanksgiving.
Mini-Alex looks good in fall colors. Now, there's voting even before books are out? Awesome. I'll exercise my rights.
Have a great week, Alex. xo
Lots of great news! Now bring on the music.
Entered your giveaway and voted.
Cute Mini-Alex and turkey. I think a Mini-Kate would be perfect.
Yes, hounding you about your music.
Thanksgiving at granddaughter's house this year.
Already voted... and entered the giveaway by mistake. Didn't realized it was just for US and Canada.
Your wife has very good ideas then!
You love the hard life. Want more bugging, I see. And here dragon and dwarves say, what are friends for if not precisely for houding ninjas? Ah! Dwarves are DELIGHTED with the idea. They are organizing shifts already. Three a day will suffice? Nah, I say four. No need to thank. Bugging you is all my pleasure! *Cheshire cat grin*
Dragon of the Stars - such a cool title. Hope mini-Alex is having fun playing in those leaves.
You're a double winner at my Wisdom of the Creative Realms event! Your prizes are a wise-owl bookmark & an eBook of Legendary by LH Nicole (a YA Arthurian adventure). Donna, you might win the Goodreads giveaway instead!
Zoltan, sorry about that. Too bad they don't allow eBooks.
Elizabeth, glad you enjoyed it. Something fun about watching Cruise die repeatedly...
Sandra, funny!
Christine, I'd wait. Actually, I wish I had...
Elise, keep at it!
Pat, the cat can have all the credit for the litterbox.
Robyn, thanks!
Beverly, thanks, and there's a long line of hounding.
Sorry, Al! And great, now I have hundreds of dwarves bugging me as well.
Nicki, thanks!! I will.
Congrats on making that list! I went over and voted... And WOW on RaShelle approaching a million books--WOW...
I'll add Dragon of the Stars to my Goodreads!!! Do you guys have snow? We had a two-hour school delay today because of it, so NaNo time is all out of sorts. :/ Hopefully, I can get some time in later. Have a good week!
Hi Alex - congratulations to Michelle for her win - awesome and lucky girl!
Mini Alex is really spreading his wings - or perhaps they'll be cut off shortly ... ?
Babadook - I know, I know .. I been and seen and conquered and didn't have a heart attack - it's an interesting movie ... with lots of thought provoking moments ... the two main characters are excellent actors ... excellent ...
Cheers to one and all - Hilary
When did I miss the trivia... dammit, I knew the answers. Ha! I am looking forward to the new read, I looking forward to your book. Have a safe week and remember where ever you go, there... you are!
Some Christmas songs are perfect for guitar, you know.
I would love to hear you play.
Morning, ALEX!
Congrats to Michelle!
Yes, I voted for your book!
I'll skip the movie.
Thank you, Mrs. Alex for such fun photos!
Heather
Hm, knew I had one right but I saw several of those movies - forgot the characters tho.
I mention some upcoming movies, on my blog for tomorrow, which I really want to see.
Work getting in the way of your blogging, I didn't think the Ninja permitted such things to happen.
I entered the contest!!!
Interesting review of the Babadook. Sounds like I will be passing on that one. Congrats to Suzanne on her story. Good luck with the work craziness and I can't wait to hear you music!
Voted for your book on Goodreads. Never saw the Babadook and probably won't. The only robot movie I knew was Short Circuit.
Won't bug you about your music but would love to hear it.
Funny about your wife setting up the photo shoots. I was giving you so much credit for creativity.
That's amazing that it's already receiving such great anticipation. I can't wait to read it. I'll head over and vote ASAP.
Don't be too hard on yourself. I'm sure you hear 'mistakes' in your music that we'd never notice. I can't wait to hear you play! :)
Karen, get in line!
Hart, thanks. And I know! RaShelle rocks.
Jackie, no snow. Supposed to be in the 70's here today. Yuck.
Hilary, maybe we should compare notes...
Thanks, Heather! Maybe I should do a Christmas song...
Jo, I try not to let it happen, but must pay the bills.
Cathrina, thanks!
Susan, you guys would never see Mini-Alex otherwise.
Lauren, thanks!
Melissa, my wife says the same thing.
Entered the Goodreads giveaway. Never heard of The Babadook and probably will never see it.
I'll probably miss the "Miss You Blogfest" unless I find excess time while I'm away from home. I'm not sure what the next few weeks will hold for me other than a grueling redeye flight tonight that I'm not looking forward to.
If you play a cover maybe I'll enter it in Battle of the Bands. Look forward to hearing your playing.
Lee
Tossing It Out
Can't wait to give Dragon of the Stars a read, Alex - I'll certainly help share the giveaway details.
I was happy to vote for you! Since, you know, you're gonna play for us soon and all.
(How's that for hounding?)
Yes, I wish many votes and much success!
Congrats to those with book releases!
Congrats on your book's status on Goodreads too!
That's a killer cover, Alex. I really like the colors
Congrats to Michelle!
Love mini-Alex with the turkey! Such a snuggly scarf from Deniz.
I'm having a pre-Thanksgiving this weekend with my dad and a few other people. Then we leave Wednesday night to spend Thanksgiving with my in-laws.
Happy Thanksgiving! :)
your wife's ideas for Mini Alex are brilliant! and can't wait to hear that music! :)
It kinda looks like mini-Alex is going to karate chop that turkey for Thanksgiving. ;)
I voted for you, Alex. Can't wait to read it. Has it been two years since Elise made that little Alex? Wow. Time has really flown.
Major kudos to RaShelle!
This is the first I've heard of Babadook. I think maybe that's a good thing.
I can't wait to hear you play. Hurry up!
I hope your book sells well! Also, I would love to hear you play the guitar.
I love your new cover, Alex!
Loved the Thanksgiving mini-Alex photo! :) Looking forward to hearing your recording, whenever you get it up.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Entered!
Congrats RaShelle, Suzanne, and, er Holy Ghost Writer (?!)
Of course you got my vote over at
Goodread’s Most Anticipated Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror of 2015 list!
The Jack the Ripper book sounds interesting.
I always love to see what mini-Alex is up to! The cover for your new book is really eye-catching, I'm sure it's going to be huge.
Thanks for the mention today, I appreciate all the support.
I love the Mini-Alex pictures! They're so cute!
Congratulations on making the most anticipated list! I've given you a shout-out on my blog today.
I love seeing Mini-Alex on his adventures :)
I was so excited when I got my Sunday listed of books my friends are reading from Goodreads and saw your new book listed. Squeee!
I've always enjoyed the pictures of Mini Alex. :) I want a Mini Chrys. HAHA!
Congrats on making the Most Anticipated list!!
Can't wait to hear your music!!!
I think the turkey looks suitably nervous. ;) Like the others, can't wait to hear it. And things don't have to be perfect to still be beautiful.
Lee, thanks, and don't worry about it. You have more important things to deal with right now.
Bob, thanks!!
Brandon and Bryan, that was good.
Holly, I don't think the turkey would make for good eating though.
Michael, thanks, and it has been two years.
Edi, thanks!
Suzanne, you're welcome.
Ellie, thank you!
Donna, glad you're excited.
Chrys, maybe we need to make one.
Congrats on making the GR list! Think I'll stay away from the Babadook movie. Unanswered questions & the confusion will just frustrate me to no end. Your mini-Alex is just like Flat Stanley! My kids took pics of that thing all over the Midwest:)
Congrats on making it on the list, running over to vote!
Mini Alex looks totes adorbs . . . riding the turkey? lol And I would love to listen to your music, Mr. Perfectionist. I'm sure we'll love it ;)
Looking forward to read Dragon of the Stars! Congrats.
Please post your music up, that would be awesome.
Oh perfection, poo. Let go, Alex. Live on the wild side.
Congrats to Michelle on her prize win, also Congrats to Suzanne on her publication, I know Yeovil very well so am pleased that someone from the UK is doing well.
Can't wait to hear " Mr. Guitar Man" play so keep perfecting.
Congrats on the joust win and Goodreads Alex! That Babadook movie sounds irritating.
I am pretty certain it is universal. We would all like to hear you play...
I got 1 right-I got a fail. At first I thought Mini Alex was riding the turkey:) Soon enough he will be surrounded by Poinsettias or pine needles:) Can't wait to hear you play
Wasn't Eve the name of some other robot in something else, too?
Darn, I can't remember...
Tell your friend Andrew that Eve is my name and I'm not a robot! I did enjoy Wall-E though. My name gets used for many things. I think there's even an electric car out there...anyway, congrats to Michelle!
Definitely entering the giveaway and looking forward to your music sample!
I watched The Babadook too a couple of days ago and was also disappointed. It's obviously well-directed and I loved how the child keeps rooting for his mother and loving her despite her madness. That was really touching. Talking about madness... I believe it's all in her head. The book is just a normal one like any other and the child was afraid of it, just like any kid would. Then the mother starts having hallucinations because of the stress and lack of sleep and traumatizes her child even more. I don't think the end should be interpreted literally either. (SPOILER ALERT) It's not a real monster she's feeding (you don't see it), but she has learned to tame her own madness (imaginary monster). At least, that's how I see it.
Voted for your book on Goodreads, but can't see how to tweet the giveaway. Any chance you can put up a copy and paste link I can slap into a tweet?
mood
A bob upside the head, eh? Haha. I've probably told you already, but BladeRunner is one of my all-time favourite movies.
Congrats to Michelle! She's been on such a great winning streak that I would love to go to Vegas with her! Mini-Alex looks adorable as always, and I love that your wife comes up with all of his creative photos! Fantastic news about Dragon of the Stars! Congrats to all the authors! I would also love to hear you play! I'm off to vote!
Julie
Three cheers to Michelle for her win. it's been wonderful catching glimpses of your book around various places (like at Charity Bradford's blog spot).
Thanksgiving is coming up so quickly. Just got all the non-perishable items today. Guess I better dig out the decorations and start making it look more festive around here too. Congrats to all mentioned here today! Don't think I'll be checking out the movie...thanks for the review.
I understand the not-rushing-the-guitar player thing. I'm a perfectionist, too. And it's so hard to get everything just right in a recording. There's always something just a little off. Good luck!
Just take your time with your guitar Alex. I wasn't a big sharer of my poetry and now I'm doing a series in verse. Just let time flow naturally. Your wife has excellent ideas and Mini-Alex is looking good posing with the turkey. Rashelle is a legend, so I'm definitely checking her out on Wednesday.
You are now a most-anticipated author! Ooh, la-la. :) :)
You had me at "Music Sample" *pulls up a chair, waits patiently* I would LOVE to hear you play--how do we make that happen *calls a certain favorite Dragon*:)
Cheers!
Sam
Catching up - finally got your new book marked on Goodreads - can't wait!
Jennifer, yes he is!
Elephant's Child, it does seem to be universal...
Andrew, probably...
Eve, that made me laugh!
Vanessa, that's how I interpreted it. I guess she made the book herself since she did say she did children's books at one time.
Moody, I will do that!
Angela, that was great of her to post it.
Sherry, YOU understand!
Suze, thanks for the chuckle.
And thanks to all who voted and entered!!
You totally need a mini-Kate. Just think of the shenanigans you can create!
I don't know if the world is ready for Mini-Alex meeting Mini-Kate! :-)
Mini Alex sure gets around
I won't hound you about your music but I am looking forward to hearing it. I completely understand the phrase, 'perfectionist with a guitar'.
I was surprised by a package on Friday, which since hubs and I were making the rounds of specialist for him, I didn't get to open until very early Saturday morning. What an attention grabbing cover on your new book. Love the color combo. I can't wait to start it. Hubs teased me about treating it like gold and yet I didn't open it and glance at the opening chapter but put it back in its envelope. I told him, I'm in the middle of a book and if start reading this one I won't stop.
Congrats, Alex!
Babadook seems to be mysteriously intimidating. That can create lots of fun.Mini-Alex is a great companion to have. It gives a personal touch. Certainly good to give it its own companion in Mini-Kate. A Partnership with Mrs Alex is such a great boost. Thanks Alex!
Hank
I'm late getting by here.
I like all four book covers you have. They reek of action.Gives new meaning to the word, Eureka.
Congratulations to the winners!
Alex, definitely look forward to listening to your music. Congrats to those with new books. Your wife does a great job with the photos of Mini-Alex. Now off to vote.
Alex, definitely look forward to listening to your music. Congrats to those with new books. Your wife does a great job with the photos of Mini-Alex. Now off to vote.
Haven't heard of The Babadook until now.
Your new cover is amazing!! I love it!
I hopped over and voted, and of course I'm looking forward to Dragon. I also want to hear you play!
Me, I'm never ready for any holiday. Thanksgiving means lots of cleaning and cooking, and I never really complete all of them.
NOT ready for Thanksgiving, but ready to hear some music. But, yeah, that would make me nervous to share too. :)
Our books are up on the SFSignal page together, Alex, and they are in some really nice company!
http://www.sfsignal.com/archives/2014/11/books-received-november-17-2014/
Congrats to Michelle! I've put Dragon on my GR want-to-read list. :)
Your Babadook review is funny - "A bop upside the head" - lol!!
Congrats to Holy Ghost Writer and to Suzanne.
I got almost all of the trivia wrong. How could I forget "The Black Hole"? I totally watched that when it came out. Have a great week, Alex! :)
i can't wait to hear some stellar song!!
Don't know if anyone will provide a Mini-Kate for Mini-Alex!
I am definitely going to hound you for your music.
I WON! *HAPPY DANCE*
Thank you!
In the last month, my winning streak has been PHENOMENAL...about 16 e-books, a $50 voucher and yesterday a $15 Amazon gift voucher, and also a gorgeous beaded owl bookmark...
Rashelle sounds like a writing machine! Wow.
Can't wait to hear you play, Alex...
I have marked your book to-read, Alex. Will go buy the minute it is out.
Would love to host you as well, if you're doing a blog tour.
I'd love to hear a recording.
Too bad about Babadook being a mixed bag. It sounds like a great concept.
I voted! Best of luck and how fun to see your book on a list with Game of Thrones. Loved Mini Alex and the turkey. Tell your wife good idea!
I just read the post over at Milo James' place. Persistence really does pay off, and woohoo for being an Amazon best seller!
I think the post w/the turkey is cute. :)
Hi Alex - Babadook ... I hope you get to see it - and it'll be good to read your thoughts ... I really put mine in your post of 10th Nov, when you mentioned Babadook ...
Good luck with all things .. cheers Hilary
Interesting that your insecurities over posting your music sound very like many people's concerns over sharing their writing.
Too bad I couldn't enter the draw, I live in the other hemisphere.
And I can't wait to see the mini-Kate.
Roland, the world might not be ready, but he is!
Sia, awesome you got a book! I hope you enjoy it.
Dixie, thanks!
Thanks, Jack!
Ted, thanks for the heads up!
Lexa, I'm here to amuse.
Michelle, someone take you to Vegas.
Damy, thanks! You were on my list to contact.
Patsy, funny about that...
Thanks everyone!
Look forward to hearing the music, and congrats fellow knight of the joust!
I likes the mini-Alex!! I'll have to go to the archives and learn more about the origin. And heck yes I'm ready for Thanksgiving. Me love some turkey!
I voted, I tweeted, but I can't get the bop on the head comment out of mine! lol
Tell your wife, she has a stylist eye! Is this what Mini-Alex wants for Christmas?! Paper dolls?!
Don't rush a Ninja! Take your time...I think it would peaceful if you rocked out in January-when we are fighting cabin fever! No hounds needed-today!
Fun post! Off to visit your links~
The Babadook sounds too scary for me!! Can't wait to hear your music :-)
added the book and entered the giveaway -- love that combination of red and green on the cover, beautiful and eye-catching!
and loved your guest post, Alex! don't know how to comment there, so I'll comment here, but anyways, that's interesting that it took 11 months for your book to hit the bestselling list. Gives me hope! I thought it was an either right away or nothing. Your story is an inspiration!!
Signed up on Goodreads! Won't be seeing babadook. Can't wait for the music "sample" and thank you for the introduction to RaShelle Workman!
In on the Goodread's gig. Looking forward to the book. Hectic week for us too, hopeful that Thanksgiving week will be less so, but still thankful for the blessings in our lives.
Enjoyed your post on small press success. Congratulations!
Thanks for the reminder. I better buy a turkey and get a post ready!
Haven't seen the movie, and since it got a dodgy- I will skip it.
Of course I want to hear your music, but I won't pressure- much.
Congrats to Michelle! Nope, haven't seen the movie - wasn't and still am not planning on it either. I thought it was going to be a calm Thanksgiving until all sorts of relatives started calling yesterday, asking if they can visit this year. Yay?
Curious about your music now ;)
Any movie with an annoying kid is one I'll gladly pass on. too bad, because the premiss sounded interesting.
YES, I would love to hear your music. Please post something soon, but not too soon. I'll be out of town next week for Thanksgiving.
BTW. Have a great Turkey Day!
Yes, Alex Mini wonderful autumn! I love them!
Keith, I should send you the link to Elise's post about him.
Thanks, Ella! Mini-Alex would appreciate the real thing if at all possible...
Thanks, EE! Yeah, Milo has comments turned off. Never give up on a book though, because just just never know...
Elizabeth, just on Twitter, right?
Faraway, we are of the same opinion. Don't worry, won't be next week.
You can tell your wife that I always enjoy the pictures of Mini Alex and where he pops up next!
I would love to hear your music!
I also look forward to reading RaShelle's interview. A million books, wow!
Ninja FALL Alex. I like it! Babadook sounds interesting... How did I miss that one? I don't even remember seeing a movie!
I meant to say PREVIEW, not movie!
I hope you're doing well Alex! I don't know if I can see that Babadook film. It sounds scary. I finally saw Snowpiercer, and I have to say I was thoroughly impressed with that film. Congrats on the giveaway! I'm thrilled for your new release.
Of course I entered the Goodreads giveaway! Mini-Alex looks ready for Thanksgiving!
I feel it was rather remiss of me to have not made a comment about hearing you play. As probably the only blogger who HAS heard you play, hurry up and record some music! You rock and ARE amazing. There. I've gone and said it :-)
Ava, I will!
Stephanie, it's an Australian film, so not getting a lot of press here.
MsMariah, Snowpiercer was very original.
Ellie, thanks! Yes, you are the only one...
Congratulations on your five-year blogiversary!
Aww, I hope mini-Alex gets a mini-Kate soon.
Can't wait to hear your music!
Just stopping by to say hi! Hope your busy week is a good one!
Congratulations on Dragon of the Stars and for making that list! So awesome! I am so in love with that cover. A big cheer out to Michelle for winning, too!
Saw Big Hero Six this weekend. CGI was very good, but the story was a bit too linear. Could have added a twist here or there.
BTW, I entered the Goodreads giveaway. good luck with Goodreads.
I entered the Goodreads contest and I voted. You're doing pretty good at #3!
I'm looking forward to hearing the music sample when you've perfected it. ;)
Sorry I didn't catch your post on Monday, Alex. Congrats on Good Reads! Wow! I voted and entered the drawing. If I should win, I'll definitely write a review. I'll probably write one anyway! I've got to get cracking on Monday's blog fest. This is such a busy time of year! CassaStorm and Max Blizzard landed on my doorstep last night. I finally squeezed in ordering them along with Through Black Spruce. Fortunately, no matter how busy I am, I DO get reading in every night. Have a good one!
Whew! Huge congrats to Suzanne. Definitely need to go vote on Goodreads. Yay!
Unleashing the Dreamworld
Congrats on the goodreads list. And congratulations on the release of another book. I would love to hear you play your music. I'm sure you will blow us all away. Being a perfectionist isn't such a bad thing. So far, everything you've created or put your mind to has been a success. I look forward to hearing your music, eventually.
Sheri, I think the cover is rather awesome as well.
Ken, agreed, and thanks!
Loni, thank you!
Fundy, thanks, and I hope you enjoy CassaStorm and win Dragon.
Thanks, Melissa - and good to hear from you!
I entered to win! Dragon the Stars looks awesome! :)
The Husband Unit probably would have gotten all of the robots. :) Me, not so much.
I hope the new book is a big success!
Awww! Mini Alex is all decked out for the holidays! I love it :) Looking forward to hearing your music!
Congrats to you for being high on the Anticipated list and to Michelle for winning the giveaway! I knew a few of the answers to the robot questions and had a couple of Oh, yeah moments when I read the answers. And I did enter the giveaway. Now I'm going to check out the small press post.
Only thing I'm really doing for Thanksgiving is the work potluck tomorrow; nothing happening here for the holiday. But I'm baking two pies to share with co-workers, so that should be good.
Love that cover and title, Alex! Congrats on the Goodreads nomination!
I wish I had a mini version of me. Then again, we are talking about ME. If there WAS a MINI version of me, you wouldn't be able to see it.
Thanks, Mark!
Thanks Lori!
Mason, we had our work potluck this week as well.
Al, technically, you shouldn't be able to see mine...
Happy Thanksgiving to both mini Alex and big Alex! :)
The movie sounded odd. Can't join in on memes at the present time. Blogging's taken a back seat unfortunately while the moving mayhem continues. Today is furniture (stuff from Dubai) delivery day!
Have a great Thanksgiving X
Congrats on the new book!! Like the cover. :)
Cheer up Alex, look forward to hearing your guitar. My son is learning to play the electric bass!
Yes, I wanna hear your music!
I don't know about Babadook (spelling?) but I saw Interstellar and loved it.
Love the picture of Mini Alex and the Turkey! Too cute! :)
It would be awesome to hear your music!
~Jess
Thank you very much Alex!
I love the photos of Mini Alex that you and your wife come up with. Fun to see a glimpse of her creativity. Yes, I'd love to hear you play!
I love the mini-Alex photos!
And I can't believe I haven't watched Spaceballs with my kids yet!!
The movie sounds a little iffy Alex.
Just went to vote over at Goodreads and saw you are all the way up to #3. Yay! Here's to hitting #1 on the list soon. :)
Greetings human, Alex and Alex and....
Still not sure how you do it, my human friend. I still wonder if you ever sleep.
So many links and so much to take in. It does overwhelm my doggy brain almost as much as it overwhelms my human, Gary's brain.
I went and read RaShelle's article on IWSG aka...it had lots of neat info. Of course, I had to add my amazing thoughts about writing, such as not writing to an audience.
How about a "No More Blogfests Blogfest"? What a concept!
Pawsitive wishes, my kind human friend.
Penny
Okay, from the first time I learned you play the guitar, I've been hoping you will share your music with us. If it is anything like your writing, everyone is going to be inspired and blown away!!
I've missed so much! congrats on another book!!! Going to add it to my goodreads now :D
I haven't seen the Babadook yet, but I intend to. I can understand being uncomfortable sharing your music. I'm more wary of sharing my writing than my photography.
Love the cover. Jack the Ripper sounds (or looks) like an interesting story.
Star Trek shirts! I have a couple of people I could gift those to.
Oh dear, I hadn't known Old Kitty hadn't posted in a while! Hope everything's okay. She was on my list of 'hey you haven't visited these guys in a while' blogs
I hate that I missed you Goodreads giveaway. I would liked to enter and share it. I really need to get a new computer. I'm so looking forward to you new release.
