New Blogfest and OMG REVIEWS!!!!!!!!

My publisher finally sent me the blurb from Library Journal’s review and it’s awesome! “…calls to mind the youthful focus of Robert Heinlein’s early military sf, as well as the excitement of space opera epitomized by the many Star Wars novels. Fast-paced military action and a youthful protagonist make this a good choice for both young adult and adult fans of space wars.” - Library Journal CassaStar compared to Heinlein AND Star Wars in the same sentence? BOO-YAH!!!!!!!!! And another awesome review was posted this week by Bryan at SFF Hub. Believe me, I clinked on that link while holding my breath! But way cool! SFF Hub is one of my blog tour stops, too – and in his review posts he’s seeking questions for my interview. So, if there’s anything you ever wanted to know… There was also a review from Publisher’s Weekly that wasn’t so awesome, but that’s okay. Two positive reviews are good enough! Now to the blogfest… In the spirit of The Movie Dirty Dozen, I announce…
The TOP 10 TV SHOWS! Yes, admit it – at some point in your life, you were a TV junkie! Now’s your chance to rave about your favorite shows, past and present. Dazzle the blogging world with your boob tube knowledge and fascination for cheap sitcoms, over-emoted dramas, and weakly programming. This blogfest kicks off on Monday, September 20. Sign up today! If you missed The Movie Dirty Dozen, now is the time to redeem yourself.

Hi Alex,

I'm over from Karens BBQ party too. Congrats on your great reviews! Very cool indeed. ;)

RaShelle Workman said...

Hey Alex - Okay, so yay on the two great reviews!!! Awesome!!! And I read the publisher's weekly review. It wasn't that bad. It was like he/she couldn't find anything to say, so they made stuff up. It probably wasn't his/her cup of tea/java/sauce . . . I've entered enough contests to know it's all subjective anyway. You rock Alex!!

I'm signing up for your blogfest too.

Jay Watson said...

You're right Alex, just to be mentioned in the same sentence with Rbt. Heinlein is quite an honor. His earlier "juveniles" were tons of fun and got a lot of kids "into" SF back in the day. Congrats!!!

Anne Gallagher said...

Congratulations Alex, that's wonderful news! I'm so happy for you. And pooh on Publisher's Weekly, what do they know about books anyway? lol.

Helen Ginger said...

As long as the review wasn't scathing, it's a mention in a magazine that a lot of writers (who are also readers) read.

Kittie Howard said...

Awesome reviews...congrats! Signed up for your hop. Be sure and remind us, okay. (I'm following you now, came over from Karen G's BBQ.)

A TV blog hop! Yey. I'm in. The only question will be how do keep the word count down when raving about my favourites. LOL.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Piedmont, you're right!

Helen, it wasn't scathing, just average, so I guess I'll be okay.

Ellie, you rave as long as you like about them.

Thanks everyone and glad so many are excited about the blogfest.

Glad to hear you've scored some good reviews, Brother. I guess you've got the right stuff!

Hey, quick question: I'm signed up for the TV Blogfest (#34) but I'm unhappy with the way my blog is listed. See the &quot nonsense around the word STUFFS? That's because I included quotation marks around the word.

Do you have a way of deleting my entry so that I can reenter it without the quotation marks so it won't look so unreadable? If so, I'd appreciate it. You just delete the current entry (if you can) and I'll sign up for the blogfest again minus the quotation marks. Thanks!

~ D-FensDogg McMe

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Alex, hope you've joined the blogfest then!

Stephen, I'll see if I can't fix that - or delete, one of the two!

Erin Kane Spock said...

I could have sworn I entered this blogfest awhile ago and left a note congrats on the review.
Odd.
Anyway, I did create my entry weeks ago, even if I'm only linking it today. :)
