I’m Back! And I’m also posting at the IWSG today - Three Publishers Weigh in on Queries, Marketing, and the Publishing Model.
The Fate of the Furious Review
The fate? A whole lot of fun!
This was probably one of the funnest rides so far in the franchise. Crazy car stunts and action scenes galore. Plus a sub and a rainstorm of cars! And much of it manifested by some computer wizardry and hacking.
The gang is all back, including Jason Statham now working with the team. Great to see Kurt Russell and Scott Eastwood as Little Nobody was a great addition. Most of the characters had moments of humor, but Tyrese Gibson’s character wins for all out hilarious. Charlize Theron as the bad guy – she was chilling. I think she’s found her calling.
It’s probably just a little too long (runtime 2:16) but eighth instalment and first without Paul Walker is worth the prices of admission. The action is balanced out by human moments, including some sad one. The effects are stunning as always. And of course, they left it wide open for number nine.
The movie also broke the worldwide opening weekend record with $532.5 million dollars.
If you don’t like the series, this one won’t change your mind.
If you do, then highly recommended!
Star Wars – The Last Jedi Trailer
In case you missed it last week…
Plus Rogue One came out a couple weeks ago and we snagged our 3D Blueray right away.
MST3K – New Season
Could the new team pull it off? Safe to say, they did!
Since Joel Robinson, the original founder, is in charge, it feels like the earlier seasons of the old MST3K. They’ve reintroduced the kids’ letters to MST3K (although I don’t think kids really get many of the jokes) and it has a lighter feel. The segments in between still need a little work, but they'll get it eventually.
While not as edgy or snarky as the later years, it was still hilariously funny. I laughed out loud many, many times. The highlight is still the movie.
Some of the other cast members will be making appearances this season, and the second episode featured Mary Jo, Bill, and Kevin as Pearl, Brain Guy, and Professor Bobo. It’s still odd hearing different voices for the robots, although Crow is fairly close.
If you’re a fan of the original series or RiffTrax, check it out!
Where are you located?
I beam down to Ireland, Dublin occasionally, hehe- which is terra incognita actually I enjoy the privacy my Pen-name gives me. "Blogger" universal URLs have I think kept my location extra secret/mysterious.
Why the passion for Star Trek?
I got bit by the space bug which got me infected on the original shows alien anomalies and stories.
When did it begin?
At an early age the futurism of "Star Trek" made me dream. At first I puzzled over why so many black scratches flickered over the tv set and then, Ahh Haa! I had an epiphany. Thecamera lens was getting dirty from space dust, so trek's producers were filming in earth's orbit, Star Trek was real!
How many Star Trek conventions have you been to?
Here you've got me. In 1995 I was thrilled to meet Leonard Nimoy under the glare of paparazzi lights and cameras at Easons. People took my photo with Leonard and I don't have any!!!
In 2011, I trekked with my friend Nova to the Star Wars Invasion at the RDS. It took Star Wars to be the first!!! I was lucky enough to meet Julian Glover himself aka General Veers and Danny Baker aka R2D2 with Nova getting snapshots.
Do you own a Bat'leth or other Klingon weapon?
No I don't, I do have a Klingon Warbird with amazing sound effects and it took me two weeks to construct Captain Kirk's Starship with Lights and sound effects for the AMT USS Enterprise NCC1701.
What is your favorite Star Trek movie?
That’s easy, I'm going to talk Prime Universe movies only. At No1: The Wrath of Khan is the obvious winner. However Star Trek IV is good fun, doesn't take itself seriously and because its good, people like it, which gets my vote haha. I'm a sucker for all the light hearted comedy and saving whales. God bless them all.
Live long and Prosper, Spacerguy aka Kieran
Joylene Nowell Butler is stepping down as IWSG Admin due to real life taking over. We will miss her so much! She also had a health challenge last week that has put her out of commission for a while – so much that she is not able to enjoy her book’s release day on Tuesday, April 18. To the Breaking Point...
When Brendell Meshango resigns from her university professor position and retreats to her isolated cabin to repair her psyche, she is confronted by a masked intruder. His racial comments lead her to believe she is the solitary victim of a hate crime.
However, is all as it appears? After two bizarre days, the intruder mysteriously disappears but continues to play mind games with her. Taught by her mother to distrust the mainstream-based power structures, and with her stalker possibly linked to a high level of government, Brendell conceals the incident from the police. But will her silence keep her safe?
Then her beloved daughter, Zoë, is threatened and Brendell takes matters into her own hands. To save Zoë, Brendell searches for the stalker and confronts not just a depraved madman but her own fears and prejudices.

For those of you who celebrate Easter and the Resurrection, I hope you had a blessed Sunday.
Mini-Alex was hanging with his peeps of course.
I think a few of those peeps have since gone missing…
Anyone else see the Furious movie? Stoked for the next Star Wars film? Watched any of the new MST3K season? Following Spacerguy? Can you help Joylene spread the word? And did you have a good Easter?
Don’t forget to visit the IWSG and Three Publishers Weigh in on Queries, Marketing, and the Publishing Model.
I’m taking another break next week – catch you May 3 for the IWSG post, May movie preview, and the release of the IWSG anthology - Hero Lost: Mysteries of Death and Life!
Welcome back Alex you were missed.
My late husband was an avid Star Wars and Star Trek fan, I thought the Star Wars video extremely good.
Will pop over to ISWG later.
Enjoy this new week.
PS: When you "Beam Down" over Dublin do you ever come across Danny Boy?
Make sure you don't fall into the River Liffey....lol
Wonderful city been there many times.
Gosh 1 and 2 this week.
Hi Alex - good to meet Spacer Guy ... and Ireland is a delightful place to visit or live in. Glad you had a good time ... even if chocolate was eaten on occasions! Oh dear I'm sorry to read about Joylene - I too wish her all the very best ... with thoughts to one and all for healthy and happy months ahead ... cheers Hilary
I like the new Star Wars trailer, even though it gives away nothing. My favorite Star Trek movie is "Undiscovered Country"
Welcome back. You were missed.
I do follow Spacer Guy.
Sending many good wishes to Joylene.
Peeps? Colour me clueless.
Hope you enjoy the break. Congrats to the authors with new releases.
Feeling a strange compulsion to go to the movies right now, Alex! I always enjoy your cinema updates.
Great review on the new Furious movie. I'm not sure if I will see it yet. I have watched most of the series. Thank you for posting the trailer! I can't wait! I am sorry to hear about Joylene. I will add her book to my post on Friday. Have a great rest of your week Alex.
Sorry to hear about Joylene's health issues. And your post on IWSG was great and really informative. I enjoyed that you had more than one publisher's perspective.
Welcome back, Alex!
I've been seeing lots of pictures of Star Wars Celebration this weekend, so we got our fix even if we couldn't go. The trailer for the final season of Star Wars Rebels looks great too.
Such a shame about Joylene. I hope she makes a quick recovery. Fun interview with the Spacerguy. I'll definitely have to check out his site. Love the picture of Mini-Alex and the peeps :-) Cheers - Ellen
Glad to be back, Yvonne. Your husband was uber cool.
Cindy, it was all tease, wasn't it?
Elephant's Child, that's what those fluffy treats are called - Peeps.
Erika, she'll appreciate that.
Natalie, I definitely wanted several perspectives.
Nice to meet you Spacerguy! Congrats to Jolene on the book release. I do hope she gets better soon. Easter? I have the flu so it was quiet. (I wrote my current post while I had a slight fever, so hopefully it makes sense.)
Spacer Guy needs to share that beaming technology.
I find the last couple Fast movies do tend to run a little long, but they are brainless fun, so oh well, watch I do.
Those peeps must be all gone by now.
Our house was buzzing at The Last Jedi trailer. Hope Joylene gets better soon to enjoy her new book :-)
I've probably mentioned my ex-husband was really into Star Wars. My now-husband is only mildly interested in it. He'll see it, but he doesn't live for it! I've never been around any Star Trek fans, really. I can't BELIEVE the Fast & Furious series is still going strong. Feels like there have been a million of those movies!
Welcome back Alex! Fate of the Furious is certainly a very good bet. Lots of fun and comedy is always a great attraction. Great interview with the Spacerguy. Very interesting to see sci-fi had been long existing with those interested in it. New release by Patricia is most relevant to those interested in Wordling, I should think!
Sending positive thoughts to Joylene....
That pic with Mini-Alex and the peeps cracked me up. Hmm, maybe a search party needs to investigate those missing peeps.... :)
I liked Rogue One. Definitely looking forward to the next movie. The earworm creeps me out in Wrath of Khan. I can't sit through that part. Hugs to Joylene.
Thanks for all the news and links. Nice to learn more about Kieran. Will be praying for Joylene. Heading over to IWSG now. Have a great break!
Just saw Rogue One - not a fan of all the fighting, but it is what it is. The boys loved it!
Saw The Passengers too, they even enjoyed that one!
Hope your Easter was filled with chocolate/peeps and peace!
Welcome back! You were missed. Hope you had a good break and a blessed Easter.
My son will want to see the Fate for sure, he is a diehard fan and has seen all of them. But I will make him wait till June, till his exams are over.
Best wishes for a quick recovery for Joylene, so sad to have to miss out on her own book launch!
Look forward to the release of ISWG antho, though I guess I'll have to wait till June too when I travel out.
I had a great Easter (ending with a Penguins win--BONUS!). Thanks for sharing the new Star Wars trailer. I know what I'll be watching this Christmas!
Amazon actually sold out of Rogue One.
Holly, I'm sorry!
Pat, still a couple Peeps left...
Stephanie, there might be one day.
Madeline, find the trail of blue...
Yolanda, I still need to catch Passengers.
Nila, you're a mean mom.
Sending prayers for Joylene to feel better and soon be good as new.
My Easter was good. It's always fun to watch the children hunt Easter eggs.
Thanks for featuring me here today Alex, Its the coolest adventure hanging out with you guys! I mean it. brainless fun eh, Pat Hat lol!!! Why you rascal! but I'm with you on the movie being drawn out... Hey, I did a feature today on a NASA physicist, David Batchelor- in no way brainless!!!! Star Trek still lives!
The Voyage Home is my favorite Star Trek movie. Must be the whales.
The new MST3K is funny but I really miss Mike.
We had a wonderful Easter with our son, whose fiancee was out of town. He cured all our electronic woes. I hope you had a great Easter as well.
Totally agree with Kieran on the Star Trek movies - Khan and whales! :)
Love the new Jedi trailer - can't wait for that one!!!
Maski: Broken But Not Dead sounds incredible! Not such good news about Joylene though (get well soon Joylene).
I wish I could tell you about my favourite Star Trek movie, but I can’t make a choice between them, plus I always get muddled up about which bits are from which film.
Have a good break, see you in May.
I do follow Spacerguy, although it's been a while since I visited. I'm sorry to hear things aren't going well for Joylene. :-(
I always watch the Fast and furious movies. if just for the cars if nothing else.
I hope Joylene heals quickly.
Yes, I can help spread the word for Joylene on a post tomorrow.
Good to see Spacerguy here. He's a great guy and a great blogger.
I will not be seeing any of the Fast and the Furious movies. Not my thing. MST3K, meanwhile, I'm doing everything in my power not to just devour it all instantly.
My son saw the Fast and Furious movie. He really liked it but thought it too long. I've enjoyed Spacergy's A to Z posts during other Aprils. I agree with his favorite Trek movies from before the reboot.
Easter was blessed here. Hope yours was too.
Fate of the Furious! I loved it, but I also love seeing Dwayne Johnson punch people. And the Last Jedi trailer got me excited for the movie (for sure).
Mini Alex likes the blue peeps best, huh?
Must've been a thrill for Kieran/Spacerguy to have met Leonard Nimoy, and frustrating to not have a photo.
Be well, Alex.
Spacer Guy, you're welcome!
Stephen, that sounds strangely similar to when I visit my parents...
Charles, definitely worth it for the cars.
Tamara, that would be great.
Brandon and Bryan, we're trying to limit it to one movie a night.
Susan, yes it was.
Michael, I bet it's like being hit by a tank.
Robyn, blue for dudes.
Thanks for the round-up of reviews. I hope Joylene is on the mend soon.
Not a Fast fan but I hear that people who like it love it!
An Irish Trekkie! How fabulous. I have so many people I know who are Trekkies and can't wait for the next movie. I used to be an avid fan, but I've drifted away. I might see this next one, though. I'll have something to talk to my Trekkie friends about.
Congrats to Joylene!
Can't wait to see The Last Jedi!!!!
I cannot wait for Last Jedi. It looks so awesome.
Hanging w/the peeps is a good idea. ;) I don't think I've ever seen any of the Fast and Furious movies in their entirety. I have seen Theron be a bad guy (girl) though in the Snow White'ish' movie she did. I thought she did a great job at that... so I can see it. :)
The peeps went missing ...
I think my husband and I will check out the new Furious movie in the next few weeks and I'm definitely stoked for the next Star Wars movie!
Haven't seen Rogue One yet but the new film looks awesome. Congrats to Joylene and I hope her issues aren't too serious.
Libby, I thought it was great.
Lee, come back to the Trek side!
Rosey, good point. And she was evil in that film.
Furious movie was so awesome. the theater was nearly full, and enthusiastic. Critic tribells were tut-tuting about lack of dialogue, tired old actors, etc. Loved Jason Statham and Helen Mirren. Loved it all.
Looking forward to July (G-of-Thrones) and December (St.Wars).
Happy Easter, Ninja. Hold off on the Peeps. Go for good chocolate.
I loved Star Trek 'The Voyage Home' which is the one about saving whales. I have been a Trekkie forever too. Sorry Joylene cannot do her own 'pushing' at the moment. I hope she has lots of success with her book. I like the sound of Learn a Word in 100 Words too.
Haven't seen Furious yet, but I want to. Still can't believe it broke records.
I'm trying to avoid Star Wars trailers to build up suspense, but it's getting really hard.
I'll add Joylene's book to my Friday post. My blog is a bit out of wack at the moment, but I was already planning a smorgasbord for that day anyway.
I had a lovely Easter and look forward to seeing you on the next IWSG day.
Sounds like you AND mini-Alex had a wonderful Easter.
I've not seen all the Fast & Furious movies, but I did enjoy the ones I watched, so it's good to know this one is up to par.
The Furious movies aren't for me. I have not seen the new Star Wars trailer. I probably won't until it finds me. Have a nice break.
I was never a Fast and Furious fan, never seen one of those movies. But, I'm a huge fan of Star Wars and I'm looking forward to the new movie.
We had a blessed Easter!!
Alex, enjoy your well deserved break.
Hubby was going to see the Fast and Furious movie w/ his coworker, but some friends were in town and we ended up visiting with them instead. His coworker said the movie was okay. It's not really my thing so I've only seen the one where the Rock flexed his cast off and said something silly because hubby insisted I see that. LOL
I hope your Easter was blessed, Alex. Sorry to hear Joylene hasn't been well. I've been seeing her book around the blogs, which is good.
The Fast and Furious franchise is always fun and doesn't seem to get old fast. :-)
I hope that you had a lovely Easter, Alex! I'm sure it was full of meaning for you. I envy you your faith, for I am firmly stuck on agnostic. I thoroughly enjoyed your post today, and I'll be checking out your other one. I'm so sorry to hear about Joylene. She is a kind and uplifting person, and a very fine writer! Enjoy your break!
Good to hear from you again, Alex!
And all hail to Kieran O'Toole! I've gotta check out his blog, since I got hooked on Star Trek as a kid. I was never the type to go to the conventions, but Kirk and McCoy and Spock are still somehow part of my life, like friends I grew up with.
I wonder sometimes how it is that i was never bitten by the Star Trek bug. And MSt3K is a comedy, so should be hooked. They have the rest of my family, but I quietly escaped.
Congrats to Joylene on her new release. Hope all is well with her soon. Always fun to meet another Star Trek fan and who doesn't love Wrath of Khan? Looking forward to seeing the latest Fast and Furious movie. Haven't seen Kurt Russell in much lately.
Susan, Helen Mirren was a nice touch to the film.
Toi, she would appreciate that.
Denise, which is good, because there will definitely be a ninth one.
Helena, same here.
Rhonda, let it capture you.
Mason, he was really good in the film.
Mini-ninja looks pretty content with all of those peeps. I agree with Spacerguy that Wrath of Kahn was definitely the best. Yep.
What? Crazy car stunts and action scenes galore in a F&F flick? Will surprises never cease? :) Truth be told, I saw the original and would love to watch the whole series, but car stunt movies are Mrs. Shady's least favorite genre, and since she refuses to watch F&F with me and hogs the remote, I have not yet seen any of the sequels. This will not stand! :)
I've been enjoying the new MST3K very much. I haven't had the time to watch all of it yet, but I'll get there. I love Spacerguy's blog! Always been one of my favorites!
Thanks for the heads-up on Joylene's situation. I had not heard about that. You sure can't count on life following the plan, can you?
I stopped watching the Fast and Furious after about the 3rd one I think. Not that I didn't like the movies, but I just never watched any of the newer ones. I need to catch up maybe. Or maybe not.
Tossing It Out
I am looking forward to the new F&F movie! But I'm a Vin fan *heart throbs*
I know I'm based in PNR but I'll share it on my FB labeling it as suspense/action/thriller type- it will be in front of a different bunch of readers but I hope that will help her release.
Have a wonderful week!
I had a boyfriend once who liked peeps. I could eat a jar of marshmallow cream with a spoon, but I don't do peeps. :P
Congrats to all. Get well, Joylene.
Loved the Star Trek blog. Thanks for drawing it to our attention, Alex.
I'm an original trekkie who never got to far past the tv show. MST3K is on my list for this weekend! Over to the IWSG blog now.
If those blue things mini Alex has are eggs, I'm going to pass on the omelette thanks.
Glad you enjoyed your Easter, spent with friends and family here. So sorry to hear about Joylene, I wish her all the very best.
Enjoyed the interview with spacerguy very much! I love visiting his blog. Wonderful Easter in Caneyhead.
Perspectives at Life & Faith in Caneyhead
Shady! You must rectify that. Command the remote and watch the whole series.
LG, we're watching one a night.
Patricia, no, you can't.
Lee, forget the third one existed and start with the fourth. They are awesome.
Kane, that would be awesome!
Melissa, I actually think Peeps are creepy. Weird texture.
Patsy - funny!
Welcome Back Alex! I have visited Spacer Guy a few times. I haven't seen a movie in awhile, thanks for the review.
I still haven't seen the most recent Star Wars film, though it was at one of the local indie theatres for a few days. I'd like to see both that and the new one.
Peeps aren't kosher or vegetarian, though I never really cared for any marshmallows. I've seen a Peeps s'mores skillet and other Peeps recipes, and don't know how anyone could eat that much in one dish!
I am so late...typical especially with the A To Z and all. I do follow D
Acerguy who knows all things Star Trek and that's cool that he met Leonard Nimoy and Kenny Baker., who, I know, is from Star Wars. I also love The Wrath of Kahn and the Whale one but I also love Picard's gang with the Borg and Troi getting drunk. I am looking forward to the next instalment of Star Wars and wonder how they will deal with Carrie Fisher's death and, probably means Princess Leia. I have no care about the Fast and the Furious but may watch the 67th one when they are in an old folks home and think their wheelchairs are cars.
I love al the Star Trek movies - impossible to pick a favourite. They are all special in their own way.
Congratulations to Joylene and Patricia on their new releases! Great stuff! Have a lovely week, Alex.
Missing all my friends, you... SpacerGuy and all of those great wonderful friends. F8 and the Furies looks fun, but my money is on the Guardians of the G. 2... well the money I have. :)
Jedi, looks great...
Thank you for sharing SpacerGuy's words :)
I've heard that about the movie being a bit too long. I doubt hubby will care. lol
Thanks for the heads up on the Star Trek guy. I've been a Trekker since the original series came out.
Does Dom really turn on them? That's been bothering me, b/c his whole mantra through the series is family. =/ We'd love to see this one in theaters, especially my husband. Might have to break out the baby-sitter for this one! =)
Sorry to hear about Joylene. Wishing her all the best.
Own all the Fast & Furious. Have not seen this but want too. OMG I love the SW trailer I had not seen it. Huge Star Trek fan too. I have been really impressed with the new ST until this last one. I thought only so -so. My fave are the movies came from the ones Staring Shatner. Series faves were Voyager and Deep Space Nine. I rewatch ALL of the different series. Thanks for sharing all that. Joylene post appeared on my blog on the 17th. Hope she gets well soon. 'Enjoyed reading. Juneta @ Writer's Gambit
*waves at Spacer Guy* I believe I've stopped in there from time to time.
Huge congrats to Joylene and Patricia! I'm not a big peeps fan, but hey, if they make Mini-Alex happy, more power to him. =)
I love the Fast and the Furious franchise. I've had some reservations about this film, because I thought the last one would've been the end, but I'm such a fan that it looks awesome to me. You helped sway me. :) Charlize Theron has been a bad guy before. She's good at it, indeed!
Furious Fun indeed with bonus Helen Mirren. Your review was spot on. Fast times!
Easter back in PA was great. I am enjoying time with my dad on the old stomping grounds.
Mini-Alex may have my peeps. I like black jelly beans
Sure hope Joylene feels better soon. Hate to hear of a blogger and writer down.
Take care and enjoy rest of April. Spring has Sprung and new movie previews look enticing
Hi Alex! I hope you had a great Easter! Mini-Alex with his peeps is very cute! LOL! Thanks for the review for the Fast and Furious! Hi Spacerguy! Nice to meet you! Live Long and Prosper :) I hope you're having a good week off! Take Care!
I will think positive thoughts for Joylene. Congratulations to her on her book release!
Save a peep for me, Mini-Alex!
Congratulations to Joylene on her new release!
Enjoy your break Alex and hope you had a blessed Easter too. I like the sound of Learn A Word in 100 Words by Patricia Josephine, will check it out.
i hope mini Alex enjoyed the peeps. and that he doesn't have a blue tongue.
While mini-Alex was enjoying blue Peeps, I enjoyed pink...in one sitting. Please don't judge me. It's not something I do very often. Snack I mean. So, um, yeah. They're gone. And I miss them. I wish I had better restraint. *ahem*
Is this the time when I confess that I went to a Star Trek convention? Please don't tell anyone. It was a long time ago. Twenty years ago, at least. I might have had lot of fun. Maybe.
Spacer met Leonard Nimoy?!? Wow.
Exciting trailer for Jedi movie. We took our children to a Star Trek convention years ago. They loved it!
I'm so glad Star Wars continues to knock it out of the solar system! Pleasantly surprised!
my boys are excited about furious 8, can't believe it's gone on for so long.
congrats to the authors =)
hope you had a hoppy easter!
Tara Tyler Talks
Carrie-Anne, I am not the one eating them.
Birgit, First Contact is my favorite Star Trek movie!
Jeremy! Good to hear from you. Two weeks my friend...
Donna, you need to follow him!
Leandra, he is still about family. Trust me.
Juneta, DS9 was awesome. And cool you featured Joylene.
Crystal, they make Mrs. Alex happy.
Chrys, they rocked it - go see!
Deniz, you can have all of mine.
Hey Madeleine! Thanks.
Elsie, it's been more than twenty years since I went to one.
"If you don’t like the series, this one won’t change your mind.
If you do, then highly recommended!"
Seriously. This is the best line I've ever read in ANY review.
It's good to hear you're enjoying F&F and MST3K. I can keep track of SW movies 'cause we know their numbers, but ST ones blur for me - too many and not numbered - and I couldn't choose a favorite, but fun hearing about Kieran's.
Have a great weekend, Alex!
Thanks everyone for high-fiving me, it's been great fun with Alex having me over and plastering my name Hollywood billboard style for everyone in the entire BLOG-UNIVERSE to see, LOL. I'll visit you guys in the coming week, LLAP
Fun post! I didn't like Star Trek until I took a sci-fi class my senior year in high school. Then I saw the light! Hee-hee. Yes, I look forward to the new Star Wars movie! We watched all the others right before Rogue One came out. :)
So where did the peeps get to? LOL
I'm off to check out the post at the IWSG site.
Only 7 more posts left for the A to Z - phew!
Hey Welcome Back.
I am a Star Trek Fan but my husband is crazy Trek fan! I will have to check out that Dude's blog.
Blogging from A-Z,
M.M. Hudson aka Naila Moon of:
Good luck to Joylene - will tweet her book. Also, glad you're back Alex. And about Star wars and star trek - love both - they're always such a delight
Scenes from a Marriage #Lexicon of Leaving
Happy weekend and Earth Day, Alex.
The fast and the furious movies aren't my thing- but good to know that this one will be enjoyed by those who like them. :)
So happy to see Joylene's release being spread by everyone. I am going to share it to my AuthorTracker blog now. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
Favorite Star Trek movie, not sure, but I like the tribute in the last one. I like the original series the best.
Hey Alex! Coming by to comment on your blog is something I've truly missed doing with all the "whatever" that's happening. But I hope to get back in the habit of reading your blog and and sharing my comments, maybe even snag being the first commentor one of these days lol!
Thanks for sharing the Furious Review and the Jedi trailer. Loved seeing Ninja with the peeps.
Ivy, it's the truth!
Spacer Guy, it's been my pleasure.
Michelle, better you than me.
Naila, you will dig his blog.
Jess, she'll appreciate that.
I have heard a lot of good things about the new MST3K. I never watched the original series, but I've picked up a lot about it from being online, and I'm glad the new stuff lives up to that.
Also: very, very much looking forward to The Last Jedi now.
Is it bad that I haven't watched any of the new MST3K yet? So glad to hear you think it funny. I was a little worried about that. Now I'm off to try to catch up with things today. Well, maybe by the end of the week I'll be caught up! Have a good week. :)
I have been TEARING THROUGH MST3K. I haven't watched the show in so long, so I haven't really noticed the minor differences, but I've been loving it.
Hi Alex. We went to see the F/Furious movie this weekend. It was SO good!! I wish I'd have seen the others now. :) And Tyrese Gibson...aka #11...yeah, he was funny. :) Spot on for Theron too, she was good. They all were. :)
Have a wonderful week!
Fast Franchise is just so much fun to follow. Mini-Alex looks great with his peeps.
I've never actually watched any of MST3K, but as a Felicia Day fangirl, I might be tempted to get pulled in. :)
Awesome post, as per usual, Sir Alex!
I'm not a big Fast and Furious fan, but I may watch it on TV.
However, we did finally get to see Rogue One and even though I knew what would happen, I was in tears. Well done movie.
Best of luck to Spacerguy, Joylene, and Patricia!
Blue peeps? Nice! [and tasty!]
Christine, they still need to work on the skits, but the movies are hilarious.
Robert, we've been watching one every night.
Rosey, now you need to go back and catch up. Just skip the third one though. Has nothing to do with the others.
Loni, you will get sucked in...
Heather, it wasn't a warm, fuzzy happy movie. But still excellent.
Hi Alex, I know that I have been a bad blog buddy, haven't been online, so was unable to visit you for few days. But now I'll make up for it. The Fate of the Furious sounds nice. Will try and see it.
I am sure my new books will be ready for the IWSG twitter Pitch party/contest. Well that will be my new deadline. And if I remember right its on my birthday :)
I've never seen Star Wars *ducks* I know, I know. Congrats to Joylene!!!
I've never seen Star Wars *ducks* I know, I know. And congrats to Joylene!! :)
I can't comment. I'm still giggling over Mini-Alex and the missing peeps. (I'm sorry, it just struck me funny.)
I have the new Science Theater bookmarked in my Netflix. Can't wait!
My favorite Star Trek of the originals was #4. Of the reboot, the original is my favorite. But I love all the reboots so far. Looking forward to the next.
Aaagghh I'm excited to check out the new MST3K! I found the old series hilarious.
Glad to hear Fast and Furious was a really good movie!
I am excited for the next Star Wars! At least there are some Marvel movies to catch between now and December :) I follow Spacerguy, but I did not know his name was Kieran. I'm not as caught up in the Star Trek universe as I am with other franchises, but I still enjoy his witty posts from time to time.
I enjoyed celebrating Easter at church. I'm sure Mini-Alex's peeps have all gone away by now ;)
So, how ya doin? I really would like to see the Star Wars to see how they changed it. Hubby loves it too. Anyway, this a TO Z is almost over.. I had a computer crash right in the middle of it and had to get a new computer, and it's driving me nuts, but the biggest think is my Linky Follower doesn't work with it. Something about Wordpress not liking it... :( oh well, I'm pooped have a great weekend! hugs
I must confess all of my peeps went missing too... ;)
SOOOOOOOOOO excited for Star Wars!!
Hope your break has been wondrous.
See you Wednesday.
Dublin's such a happening place, so I'm not surprised Mr. O'Toole beams down there once in a while. I enjoyed Wrath of Khan and Star Trek IV. We have something in common.
I was so sorry to hear about Joylene, but glad she's healing and heading home.
Its funny science fiction has picked up in the last ten years with Star Trek movies, sci-fi conventions, Comic Cons, fans tweeting news on their iphones, twitter, facebook, Google etc and best of all the big Stars are flying all over the world. The UK Star Trek Exhibitions/resort/attractions gets visitors in their millions streaming in every year.
Rachna, that's cool it's on your birthday!
Beth Ellyn, never????
Allison, and the new one is great.
Elizabeth, they are long gone...
Curiosity, I'm sorry!
Sandra, it has been.
will remember (to skip #3). Thanks for the advice. :)
Very sad to hear about Joylene, and sorry I missed this. I've been so behind. Honestly, Alex, I have no idea how you stay on top of everything.
I gather just the simple fact of the sea kelp sitting in the background allowed you to write (in certain areas) with more confidence.
That is what happened to me, when I researched Methamphetamine. Just the awareness of the subject helped strengthen various aspects of my story.
This was a great question and now I've experienced first hand the hidden potential and influential research can provide.
I'll take you up on your offer, yes, please hook me up. I'd love to know more about sea kelp. Cheers
