Ninja News
At the A to Z Blog today is Mina Burrows, who rocked the Challenge with her theme – classic monsters!
This Wednesday at the IWSG Site is the awesome Jennifer Hillier!
Don’t forget to either submit your work or post on October 1 for the IWSG Guide to Publishing and Beyond!
We’ve received a lot of writing pieces and need more publishing and marketing.
Also, please do not include quotes, as there may be a copyright issue with them.
How I Found the Write Path is available now!
Put together by Carrie Butler and PK Hrezo, many of us posted for the book blogfest earlier this year, and now the book is available.
It’s on Amazon and other sites – check it out!
Thanks to these two wonderful ladies for also featuring one of my books in their entry for the Shelfie Bloghop. (Tara, is there a prize for the most features?)

Battle of the Bands Results
It was really close!! Sadly, even with my vote, Stream of Passion did not win the Street Spirit battle. Shame, because the lead singer has what I call a voice of glass. But that’s all right, it’s still my favorite (the singer is amazing) and the inspiration for CassaStar.

Dragon and Ninja
I’d like to share some images of a very special gift that is coming my way soon.
I am part of a special private blog group called Fellowship of the Dragon, founded by Father Dragon Al. He started creating the dragon (made in his own image) as a reward for the person who achieved their goals on a consistent basis.
I was honored to be named that person.
But even more, I was blown away by the talent and generosity of my friend, who not only spent countless hours making the dragon, but made a Ninja to go with him.
Al, I will treasure it always. You are an amazing Dragon friend.
Underrated Treasures Blogfest!
Everyone has a favorite movie or band that no one else has ever heard about. For whatever reason, they remain undiscovered and underrated. Now is your chance to tell the world about this obscure treasure!
Today, September 22, post about your favorite unknown –
MOVIE – BAND/ARTIST – TV SHOW – BOOK
Post about one or all four – dealer’s choice!
Here are my recommendations of underrated treasures:
BOOK –
The Light at the End by John Skipp and Craig Spector
It’s been many years since I read this one, but it’s a really intense horror/suspense story. It follows vampire Rudy Pasko and the man who wants to kill him, Joseph Hunter. It was extreme back in the day (published almost thirty years ago) although a bit tamer now by today’s standards. But the vampire is nasty, as he should be! Was out of print for years, but now available as an eBook.
TV SHOW –
The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.
Set in the Wild West, the show possessed the same humor as Firefly. It was a mix of Wild West, Indiana Jones, and James Bond. Bruce Campbell rocked in the title role and the show was a lot of fun. It only ran two seasons, 1993 to 1994, and unfortunately is not available on NetFlix yet, just DVD.
MUSIC –
7th Wonder – Mercy Falls
A progressive rock band, Mercy Falls is their best album and probably one of the greatest albums ever. It’s a concept album – a man in a coma is trying to escape and come back to reality. The music is so amazing and catchy. I highly recommend checking out all of their albums. (And the lead singer also now sings in Kamelot.)
MOVIE –
Edge of Tomorrow
I decided to select a film from this year because this movie just didn’t find an audience, especially in America. And it deserved one – the movie is brilliant, smart science fiction. Beyond that genre, it possesses incredible special effects, a clever storyline, solid acting, intense action and moving drama, and is a complete package. Despite what you may think of Tom Cruise, this film is awesome – watch it!
What underrated treasures would you recommend? And have you read/listened to/seen any of those?
Contributing to the IWSG book? Picking up How I Found the Write Path? BOTB results surprise you? Do you want your own Dragon and Ninja? And what are your underrated treasures…?

I enjoyed Edge of Tomorrow. It was a great movie. And that dragon and ninja are awesome!
Welcome back Alex. looking forward to reading other bloggers Underrated Treasures. Enjoyed your four entries and as always made excellent reading.
I see lots are lined up for Captain Ninja.....must keep him busy,
Have a great day,
The Light at the End sounds fantastic! This is a great idea for a bloghop!
Hi Alex .. Father Dragon did you both proud ... and those shelfies ... then the films - don't know any of them .. now Ninja Captain riding Father Dragon is brilliant .. cheers Hilary
Father Dragon did an amazing job. Something to treasure for always.
I hadn't originally planned on posting today so I didn't join the blogfest :(
I totally agree with you re Edge of Tomorrow. I really enjoyed that movie.
Quick edit check re the use of quotes for the IWSG book. It looks like you are saying you DO want them ;)
Great minds think alike.. you and I share the same love for tv shows, awesome. So much happening in this post, where to start? It's all good.
Father Dragon's Ninja and dragon... very cool.
Edge of Tomorrow : a sci-fi of current age should be interesting. Will look it up. More so Tom is there! Blur on the underrated treasures though! Great info Alex!
Hank
Great selection for the Underrated Treasures. I like the sound of The Light At The End.
Edge of Tomorrow sounds really good. Too bad it didn't find an audience here. I'll have to check it out on Netflix if I can.
The dragon and Ninja are amazing! That's crochet, right?
I do want to see Edge of Tomorrow! Looks like it will be on Netflix et al in early November. :)
I can't wait to read The Light at the End! (is it creepy, as in keep you up at night?)
I'll be checking out 7th Wonder. Thanks for this blogfest!
I finally saw Edge of Tomorrow just last week, and I can attest to how awesome it is. :D
Love your choices for the blogfest. Haven't heard of any of them. Also, love the ninja and dragon.
YAY! for How I Found My Write Path's release! There is so much valuable information stewing in there.
IWSG contribution .... I keep thinking about giving it a try. I heard you need more articles written from the perspective of marketing. Not sure I have much to offer in that area, though.
Love your blogfest for today. Can't believe I missed signing up for it. Great entries.
I downloaded my copy of How I Found My Right Path, now to read it. I wish I could help with IWSG but I'm terrible in marketing. I'm in the process of learning more and it's mind boggling. It was between Edge of Tomorrow and Draft Day and hubby picked draft day. I will get to it though. I love Bruce Campbell and did see a few episodes of Brisco!
Okay, I'll have to see The Edge of Tomorrow. It does sound intriguing, as well as that book.
Hi, Alex. Thanks for sharing your picks for the Underrated Treasures Blogfest. I'll have to check them out.
That dragon and ninja are awesome!
Wow, I struck out on all of your underrated treasures, which I guess is the whole point of this blog hop :) Will check them out.
I'll be more than happy to help you promote IWSG book. Just let me know what you need. Not sure I'll be able to write an article for it right now, but will help getting the word out when it's published.
WOW!! That is so cool of Dragon Al!! What awesomeness!!
There are some new, very cool sounding underrated topics here!! Tho I'm not too sure about Edge of tomorrow... I always give a movie a shot... but this one seems like I'd get lost, and fast.
Yvonne, I do keep busy!
Elephant, I will.
Lynda, I fixed that. And Edge of Tomorrow was such a smart film.
Jeremy, that was awesome we both picked Brisco County Jr!
Elizabeth, yes it is!
Jackie, takes a lot to creep me out, so probably the wrong person to ask.
Michael, yes!
Sheri, I bet you can come up with something for the book.
TBM, appreciate that!
Awesome dragon and ninja! Were they crocheted? If so, I wonder if there's a pattern available.
I'll have to check out How I Found the Write Path.
If Brisco has the same kind of humor as Firefly, I'll have to give it a try!
Alex, the dragon and Ninja are awesome and amazing. Such talent to create that. So close on the Battle of the Bands. I'm thrilled to finally know someone who enjoys The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. It was such a fun show to watch with all modern things they mixed in. The English Shepherd I have photos of on my blog and Facebook was named after Brisco County.
As always, I feel all caught up when I visit your blog. None of the stuff you featured is familiar for me. The moviemakers must have been disappointed to have a flop on their hands if the film was brilliant.
That book sounds intriguing, and I remember seeing commercials for that movie. It looked pretty good - I'm surprised it didn't do better in the theaters.
This blogfest is fun! Thanks for hosting it, Alex! :)
Madeline @ The Shellshank Redemption
I kid you not Alex! I just ordered the Brisco Country DVDs to watch - 'er when I get back that is.
That dragon is gorgeous!
I've never heard of any of your Underrated Treasures, which is probably the point, right? Can't wait to check them out.
I just love the dragon and ninja which Al made. You deserved them but I am still envious.
I vaguely remember Brisco County but didn't watch it. I will check our Edge of Tomorrow when I can. I am not into vampires and zombies.
The dragon and ninja are awesome! Al did a terrific job with them.
I admit, I dismissed that movie from my mind because of Tom Cruise. I'll have to rethink it...if I ever get around to watching any movies!
I still need to Edge of Tomorrow. Can't believe I missed that one.
And the ninja and dragon are just incredible. That's real talent right there. I can barely tie a knot.
I'm shocked by the dragon and little Ninja. Al is a phenomenon - as are you.
xoRobyn
Dani, the dragon and Ninja are amazing.
Sandra, yes, and he made it all from scratch I believe.
Jemi, it does!
Mason, that's really cool.
Holly, excellent! You won't regret it.
River, don't let Cruise's appearance in the film discourage you.
The Ninja is awesome, Al did a good job.
I just watched Brisco earlier this year for the first time, show was great. Sucks that it ended so soon. Another over looked one is Tales of the golden monkey, that only lasted a season but was fun too. Still have to give edge of tomorrow a go.
Wow, just wow!! I am amazed at Al's talent. How awesome is that dragon and ninja?? Too cool.
I have am under huge time restraints today, otherwise I would have joined everyone in this hop. Just not enough time in the day for me to get everything I need to get done, done anymore! But I didn't want to let this pass without at least giving you a shout out, my support and a smile :)
The dragon and ninja are awesome! I love the pictures.
I will get around to my underrated treasure at some point today. I didn't get much sleep last night so I have to actually wake up first.
Is it still ok to write a writing piece for the anthology? I really don't have any experience with the other two.
I haven't heard of any of those. LOL But I want to check out that band- sounds interesting. :) Thanks for hosting the blogfest.
The antipathy directed at Tom Cruise is undeserved and so very wrong, but it colors every movie. The herd mentality of those people are like the popular kids group in high school. If you don't think like they do, you are not cool.
I haven't seen Edge of Tomorrow but I will ASAP. Loved Oblivion and Minority Report also. So unique. So different.
Thanks for hosting Underrated Treasures!
Fun blogfest, Ninja Dragon-Rider!
I'll have to give Edge of Tomorrow a look. I'm not usually a fan of Tom Cruise, but then he sometimes surprises me.
Oh I really wanna see Edge! That album sounds super cool too! Will check it out.
Thanks for featuring The Write Path!
I've got a marketing piece planned for the IWSG book. :)
Love the gift you will receive-amazingly done! Contrats!! I loved Brisco County and was a major fan. I didn't realize it is out on DVD and may think about getting it:) Love your choices and the recent Tom Cruise film does look well done and even though i don;t care for him he is still quite a good actor. One has to separate the feelings of Tom Cruise the man (and more his religion) and his acting
What a gorgeous dragon and ninja! I like your choices for the fest. I watched Brisco. Bruce is a genius!
That gift is AWESOME! That looks like crochet work...I LOVE needlecraft.
I just downloaded my copy of How I Found the Write Path...
Why on earth was I under the impression that the Underrated Treasures Blogfest was ONLY about movies? *shakes head*
Great ninja!
I watched Edge of Tomorrow Friday. Wasn't expecting much, but damn, it was good! I really liked it.
Congrats on the Dragon award. LOVE it! I can't wait for Edge of Tomorrow to come out on DVD. We loved it. Good choice!
Love the dragon and the ninja! They are adorable!
I'll have to keep an eye out for Edge of Tomorrow on Netflix or On Demand.
Wow, so much happening - appreciate you keeping us up to date. Your very own dragon and ninja, that is impressive and totally cool! Have a great week!
Thanks for the A-Z mention, Alex. I had a fun time with the interview.
That ninja and dragon are too adorable! I want one.
I heard Edge of Tomorrow was bleh. Now I want to check it out.
I've actually just put The Light at the End by John Skipp and Craig Spector on my wishlist. Sound right up my ally so thanks for that. :) And I'm loving Alex and Dragon! X
shahwharton.com
Edge of Tomorrow was really awesome!
I love the dragon and the ninja, Al ROCKS!!! :)
Jay, incredible talent.
Thanks, Robyn.
Yes it was - only lasted two seasons.
Thanks, Jaybird!
Sarah, one on writing is fine. Just want to be sure we get a variety.
Carol, you will really dig Edge of Tomorrow then.
LG, appreciate the actor, ignore his antics off screen.
Birgit, exactly! Separate the two.
Christine, yes he is!
Michelle, covers many things, so whatever you want to post is fine.
Juliana, glad you caught it!
Donna, yes! I will buy that one.
Mina, thanks for doing it.
Shah, enjoy it!
I've heard of The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., but I've never actually seen it. I need to check it out now.
I did enjoy Edge of Tomorrow!
I'm so surprise that Edge of Tomorrow didn't find a bigger audience. When I saw the trailer I thought it would be a blockbuster for sure.
Thanks for hosting this fun fest!
That ninja and dragon are awesome! I'll have to admit I'm pretty envious of that.
Fun fact: one of our friends was an extra in Brisco County Jr. He was a small Asian kid that broke a vase over Bruce Campbell's head in one of the first episodes. And not only does he say that Bruce Campbell was insanely cool (no surprise there, right?) but he got to keep the vase. Still has it. I loved that show.
Love that crocheted ninja and dragon! FD is so talented.
Yup. Got a copy of HIFTWP.
Sorry your favorite band didn't win. :(
Interesting choices...
Good luck with your blogfest. :)
Al did a great job and congrats on meeting your goals! That's the real reward. A great blogfest and I'll have to watch "Edge" soon.
As someone who knits and crochets, that dragon and ninja are incredible. I loved Brisco County Junior. It was kind of steampunk western. Enjoying the blogfest.
I will listen 7th Wonder - Mercy Falls, looks interesting, I love progressive rock!
Hey, I like that Cassa coffee mug!
I also like prog rock so I gotta check out the album you recommended. And Edge of Tomorrow was quite good--the plot, the editing, the action.
Wow - Al is really talented. Love that dragon and ninja!
A fun blogfest! YAY. :)
Wow, Al made that dragon and ninja? I am so impressed! Good job!
Thanks for the news, Alex :)
Nicki, it should've been. Did better overseas.
Brandon and Bryan, that is really cool. No surprise Campbell was a cool guy. And maybe Al will knit two beer guys...?
Melissa, that's all right.
Susan, yes it was.
Leovi, you will dig 7th Wonder!
Catherine, go enjoy their music!
Gwen, he made them!
I like the knitted ninja and dragon. They are cute. I haven't made time to go and see "Edge of Tomorrow." It's in the dollar theater now. I probably should go and make time for it.
That movie, Edge of Tomorrow appeals to me, and I usually like those oddball ones that don't make it with the masses. Interesting book you selected, too!
A fun bloghop, Alex! Love that Dragon and Ninja award!! Very very cool.
I have a feeling my list of books, films and music to check out is going to grow immensely over the course of this blogfest. Definitely checking out your music suggestion, coz you know all the cool stuff :-)
'although a bit tamer now by today’s standards.'
:)
I wonder if Edge of Tomorrow didn't find its audience here because of Tom Cruise. His public persona has been pretty maligned with his ties to Scientology and the stories surrounding his marriage to Katie (Oh, gosh. I can't remember her last name all of the sudden. The actress from Pieces of April--which was a very good film, btw.)
ALEX!!!
I missed you!
I love when you have a TON of awesome stuff in your blog post!
What could be more awesome than the Dragon and Ninja together! That's a lot of talent right there.
Great blogfest picks! I need to check out 7th Wonder and get Edge of Tomorrow from the library to watch. :)
Off to check out all the posts!
Heather
What an awesome, awesome dragon and ninja! I'd forgotten about Brisco County, Jr which I have on my netflix list!
Okay, Father Dragon is just really cool. Talk about talent.
I have not been to the theatre in so long. I guess I can catch Edge of Tomorrow on Netflix.
I DO want my own Dragon and Ninja. :-) My underrated treasures are everything in this land where our farm is. A lot of folks don't think that's a treasure. They love the city life. But the trees and soil and everything they hold are underrated treasures.
Have a great week, Captain.
I thought about seeing Edge of Tomorrow, now I will! My entry for the IWSG is almost ready. I'm TOTALLY AMAZED at what Father Dragon did for you!!! Wow. That is a feat... Thanks for sharing all this in one fantastic post!!!
I have enjoyed most things starring Bruce Campbell I will need to check out The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. Edge of Tomorrow looked neat. I will have to give Mercy Falls a listen. Thanks for the blogfest and thanks for sharing!
I'm chuffed we made the Firefly connection for the tv show. Ninja no2 is just great, all he needs now is a guitar and we'll be rockin away until the Edge of Tomorrow.
That dragon is awesome and goes so well with the ninja. :)
I take notes of the suggestions on these posts, esp. the movie ones.
Thank you so much for hosting!
http://thriftshopcommando.blogspot.com/2014/09/underrated-treasures-blogfest.html
DG, beyond cool!
Annalisa, I've been writing down a lot of new ones.
Suze, Katie Holmes? I think Cruise is why a lot skipped the film. Shame.
Heather!!! I missed being here. But I had fun. And nothing could be more awesome.
Lisa, isn't it stunning?
Mike, you will dig that album.
I'm definitely going to have to check out that band. And I really did enjoy Edge of Tomorrow. Very good choice.
Sarah Allen
(Writing Blog)
Wow, that dragon is incredible! What a wonderful friend to go to such trouble to make a ninja too. It really is amazing.
Also, I loved Edge of Tomorrow. I really thought it was one of the best movies of the year.
Al is one ridiculously talented Dragon! Will be checking out your recommendations, especially the film!
Cheers!
Sam
A Treasure Trove of Music
I loved Brisco County Jr. You just can't beat Bruce Campbell. I haven't Edge of tomorrow but everyone says it's good. I wonder why people didn't see it theaters.
Your Ninja and Dragon are awesome! I mean that. People over use that word all the time, but that is 3D art and comfort that is awe inspiring.
That was a very close Battle of the Bands. I'm sad that the song by Stream of Passion lost, but I love it that it inspired your CassaStorm!
That dragon and ninja is neat! I want one. ;)
All great choices for underrated treasures, Alex.
The artistry and commitment in time and effort in that dragon and your Ninja avatar are simply stunning. Al is to be greatly thanked!!
EDGE OF TOMORROW was a fine Sci Fi film and, as you say, deserved better from audiences and critics. Folks simply will not give Tom Cruise a chance anymore. True, his views are ... unique ... but if one of his films is entertaining and imaginative -- c'mon give the guy a break! :-)
Good to see you back Alex, hope you had a nice break. Great choices for the underrated treasures blogfest. I am writing my article for the IWSG Guide to Publishing and Beyond. Love the Ninja and the Dragon. Thanks for this amazing blogfest.
Thanks for sharing your picks, Alex.
My brain has been busy at work trying to think of a post worthy for your book for the next IWSG.
As always, Alex, one can count on you for a fun Blogfest - I've come out of hiding and added my BOOK and MOVIE to the list.
Thanks for the opportunity to dust myself off and play!
Cheers, Jenny
I remember being MUCH more disappointed when they cancelled Brisco County Jr. then when they cancelled Firefly. Bruce Campbell is the man and that show was not only ahead of it's time, but also cancelled prematurely.
Great pic!
Also, I love Al's work on the Ninja and Dragon. Those are definite keepsakes!
Thanks for hosting this hop, it's been a blast.
An old-fashioned, nasty vampire! I like it! Sounds like an oldie but a goodie.
Going to have to check out Edge of Tomorrow. That one has left me curious to learn more. Enjoying the fest. Thanks for the nudge about our posts for today--I needed it!
Edge of Tomorrow was SO UNDERRATED! Thank you for picking it!
The dragon and ninja are adorable. I saw them this morning on Al's site.
I've always loved Bruce Campbell.
That dragon is gorgeous!
I want that mug!
I shall be checking out all your underrated treasures, except Edge of Tomorrow - already seen that one. I liked it a lot.
Thanks again for hosting this blogfest :)
The ninja and dragon as very cool. And I haven't hear of your first three choice for underrated treasures. I'll have to check them out.
This is proving to be a popular blogfest. Congratulations.
I liked Edge of Tomorrow and I believe it did very well overseas so not a flop by any means. Ton Cruise seems to have settled into a sci-fi niche recently not sure why, but this one is the best of his recent output, imo.
mood
Oh my gosh, that dragon and ninja are amazing. Like, really amazing. And the fact that someone made them for you, makes them even more amazing. I can see why you like them so much (and yes, I am aware that I used the word 'amazing' several times in a short time, but it's okay, the context warranted a few of those). ;)
Congrats on the goal accomplishing award.
I know a lot of people know Pat Benetar, but she did a song, 'Wuthering Heights' that I don't think many people know. I thought it was an amazing version.
Also, maybe everyone knows this, but when I found it I fell in instant love: Gwenyth Paltrow and Babyface teamed up for an awesome version of "Just my Imagination."
Here to wish you a great week. :0
Love the dragon and Ninja. Congratulations. Trying to think of an idea for the IWSG book. Will get a copy of How I Found the Write Path. Sounds interesting.
I love that dragon and the Ninja! Congrats!
Oops, forgot the underrated blogfest was today...
Love the crocheted dragon and ninja. Those turned out so nice.
I did not know Bruce Campbell was in The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. It's been too long since I last heard of the show.
Underrated? The music of Stephen Moccio comes to mind. If you ever get a chance, listen to his song October.
Great choices! I'm seeing these blog posts everywhere, so it's going great! My ex-husband was a HUGE Bruce Campbell fan. He stood in line to meet him once at a booksigning. He discovered him in Evil Dead, I think? Then he ended up showing up on Ellen, a sitcom I watched in the 90s. Couldn't get him to watch that--apparently he was only a fan of his when he was in action movies!
Lauren, so did I!
Toi, yes it is!
Roland, you said it! Just separate his crazy life from his movies.
Rachna, wonderful!
Cynthia, I'm sure you'll come up with something.
Mark, cancelled way too early.
Stephanie, didn't want anyone to forget. Will be by soon.
Ellie, how much are you willing to give CD for it?
Richard, popular and overwhelming!
Rosey, didn't know about either of those songs. And it warrants many amazings.
Liz, he is - check it out.
Stephanie, Evil Dead was my first encounter with Campbell.
That dragon and ninja doll are out of this world. The amount of talent and time that must take beggars the imagination.
Father Dragon's creations are impressive. What a keepsake!
I recall the Briscoe Co TV show but I never seen it. Your other picks are unknown to me.
Lee
Tossing It Out
I love Brisco! I own the series. It's the source of my love for Bruce. That show was brilliant and deserved more than it got.
Edge of Tomorrow came in the May/June time when I was in a financial flux. Also missed Fault in Our Stars as well. So sorry when I read about it on Wikipedia. It should have had the same success of Oblivion at least. And I still haven't seen it and think so. Another blogger also picked the book and tv show you chose as underrated treasures. Great minds I suppose (not me this time). That gift is awesomesauce! Father Dragon rocks the planet today. Your hop is everywhere Alex, enjoy your day.
Andrew, it did!
Sheena-kay, I am!
I'm afraid I've never heard of any of the underrated treasures you shared, but I'll definitely have to look some of them up :)
Got the Right Path already. Couldn't do the Underrated Treasures Blogfest, but have set up my contribution to the Publishing and Beyond.
Am getting ready to take November off and finding I'm in one of the biggest time crunches of my life. What happened to all those months between Jan and Sept?
What an absolutely amazing gift the ninja and dragon are! Congratulations!
Mary Montague Sikes
It's been quite a Monday and I'm arriving a bit late to the fest. Blame the dwarves. They didn't do anything wrong but blame should always go to the dwarves, never the Dragon Sire.
I should give a try to the Edge of Tomorrow. Tom is not my hit but if you recommend it...
It looks like our alter-egos are getting several fans. That's cool for Dragon's ego, haha. Seriously though, it has been my pleasure. I should do a second set for myself. :)
Wow congratulations Alex, the Ninja and Dragon was so awesome. Alex, I have entered my entry for the underrated treasures at my new blog Freshness Factor Three Thousand. Alex, when you get the chance and have time, please replace my new blog into your reader, I just discovered it has a feed, but it is a little different kind of blogging. Thank you Alex.
I've been trying to decide on my topic for the IWSG book and now it's been narrowed . . .hmm.
BOTB results surprised me.
I enjoyed Edge of Tomorrow, and my parents have Brisco County, Jr. on DVD . . . it's definitely funny. :)
Love the mug and thanks for hosting the blogfest! Sorry mine didn't go up until this evening. I thought it was scheduled to publish while I was at work, but it was just a draft. Lol. It is up now :)
That mug, as well as the crochet or knit ninja and dragon, are awesome.
Hey Ninja Captain! I love Father Dragon's gift to you; it is amazing! I'm going to give Edge of Tomorrow a try based on your recommendation.
Thanks for hosting this blogfest and doing what you always do!! Hugs... Eva
Hi Alex, I wanted to see Edge of Tomorrow, but never got around to it. I need to check it out for sure. Thanks for hosting another great blogfest.
Lee, they just went poof!
Al, you should! I feel bad taking the only ones in existence.
Lisa, will do!
The dragon and ninja are amazing..dragons are mighty beasts
full of power protectors of treasures and the universe.
Enjoy your blogfest thanks for your support.
That's a great honor and a great ninja Alex! :)
Edge of Tomorrow is on my list to see. It didn't get a lot of buzz about it, but I saw the preview and it interested me.
I better go work on my entry for the IWSG before I forget! Thanks for hosting another great blogfest!
I LOVED Edge of Tomorrow!! Such a great movie. I do enjoy Tom Cruise, not sure why you wouldn't. His best film in my opinion - ROCK OF AGES.
Just. Awesome.
These are some awesome suggestions, and I have to admit that I haven't heard of ANY of them. That's the beauty of this blogfest. I'm learning about all sorts of new and interesting movies, bands, books and shows!
Okay, since my playlist is filled with obscure treasures, let's see what I've got ...How about 'Living Things'? Straight ahead rock, with solid songwriting, great vocals, everything party music should be. Good stuff. :)
And thanks for clearing up my ambivalence about Edge of Tomorrow--going to put it in my Netflix queue right now.
All of your Underrated Treasures are new to me! Look forward to checking them out. :)
Wow! That Battle of the Bands was close!
~Jess
That dragon and ninja-- OMG freakin sweet!!!
Yay for the free "Write path" book- thanks much. :)
7th Wonder – Mercy Falls -- added to my Amazon list.
Edge of Tomorrow- Funny enough, I just watched this last week. It's Groundhog Day as an action film instead of a comedy. I thought it was great.
First off, love the dragon & Ninja. Congratulations, Alex!
I remember The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. Another Bruce Campbell fan here. I only watched Burn Notice because Bruce was on the show.
VR Barkowski
I still haven't seen Edge of Tomorrow but its playing at the local $2.00 theatre so I'll see it real soon.
And I just placed The Light at the End by John Skipp and Craig Spector on my TBR List. Thanks for the recommendation!
I thought the trailer for Edge of Tomorrow looked great, but I missed that movie and now with your review I definitely have to catch it. And The Adventures of Brisco County is really an unknown one to me, but since I love Indiana Jones it's also on my to-see list.
Cool dragon and ninja. Are they knitted? Quilted? Felt? Some people have so much talent. Congratulations on your fellowship.
Wow. Al made those? He's amazing! And I agree with you on Edge of Tomorrow. One of my favorites!
Congrats on your award from Father Dragon! He really is an exceptional artist! Great choices for your blogfest! It looks like it was a big hit!
Julie
I know Edge of Tomorrow...that's all. Thanks for the intro to others I didn't know.
OMG, the knit versions of the Ninja and dragon! Soooo amazing! I luff them. :)
I love monsters.
Funny little Ninja dude.
Have spooky week.
Looking forward to seeing the IWSG Guide to Publishing and Beyond see the light of day!
I voted for Stream of Passion, as well. I figured Radiohead would get it, though. The Underrated Treasures Blogest looks like a fun link up, but I failed to get in on the action. My lack of organization is keeping me from branching out. Vampires should be villains. They are romanticized too much in films today. Evil is evil; not a divide between good evil and bad evil. That's crazy! Brisco County, Jr sounds like an fun TV series. I will have to try to remember to watch for its availability on NetFlix. I hate it when a great programs airs and doesn't do well in the ratings. Seventh Wonder ~ Mercy Falls is a good album and new-to-me. We are Tom Cruise fans and want to see Edge of Tomorrow once it's released on iTunes. Thanks for your insights in your UTB snippet. Have a good week, Alex!
Krista, you don't want to forget!
Terry, glad you enjoyed it!
Kirsten, who's the song by?
Lenni, see? It is a great movie.
VR, that's what started me watching the show.
Stephen, enjoy!
Helena, crochet.
Sean, so am I!
Cathy, that is just crazy. Evil is evil.
All your choices for the blogfest are new to me. I just might have to investigate.
Love the dragon photos with your ninja persona. Congrats on your expected gift from Father Dragon Al for your achievements!
What a wonderfully creative way to portray the ninja and the dragon! Too cool! And the next big Christmas toy bonanza! (for adults of course!) Really, awesome!
I'm impressed with Father Dragon's dragon and Ninja! Such talent to make those! I've never heard of any of the things on your underrated treasures list. I'll have to expand my horizons! Thanks for hosting this!
Wow, that dragon and Ninja is amazing. Al is so talented!
The dragon and ninja . . wow! Really impressive and what a wonderful honor. As for your underrated treasures, I haven't heard of any of them. :)
I preferred Stream of Passion, too. However, it was CLOSE and that is good!
The dragon and mini-Alex that Father Al sent to you... wow. From the angle of that second picture they looked to be the size of a dining room table. But in the last picture, they looked really small. Like they could sit on an end table easily. So, I spent a lot of time studying them to try and sort it out. I think they really are the smaller size. Is that right???
I haven't read or watched any of your four things. Despite my distaste for ole Tom, I did WANT to see that movie and would definitely watch it. ha!
wow!
you are too popular! (sorry, no prize for being featured, thats prize enough isnt it?! ha!)
and i wondered about that tom cruise movie. i will def check it out! i like sleeper hits =) thanks for the fun fest & for mentioning ours again!
oh and super cool dragon & ninja! im jealous!!
Congrats to Carrie and PK!
What a cool mug!
I love the dragon and the ninja! So colorful and cheerful, and congrats for consistently meting your goals.
The Light at the End and Edge of Tomorrow sound awesome. have a great week, Alex! :)
The Dragon and the Ninja are awesome. :-D
Definitely checking out Mercy Falls. Always looking out for new music.
My parents and little brother loved Brisco County, Jr. I didn't realize it was only on the air for such a short time.
Love the dragon. And it's wings even work!
Loved Edge of Tomorrow. Best Sci Fi movie that I saw this year. Plus it had Emily Blunt! Score!
Can't really think of any unknowns, but over here in the UK there's a great new young singer that you in the States may not of heard of yet....George Ezra, Budapest what a great song, look him up.
Wonderful job of Carrie Butler and PK Hrezo!
A vampire book with a bad vampire????? YES PLEASE! Of course, I love most anything with vampires (aside from the Bloodrayne movies.)
I still haven't seen Edge of Tomorrow. Hubby and I wanted to, but never got to the theater. We'll probably rent it on Amazon when it comes out.
I'm one of those weirdos who still enjoys Tom Cruise's movies, even if I do think he's a bit wacky off screen. But I never did see this movie. Looked good though, from the trailer. Will have to check it out on DVD.
I like the sound of that western, though I'd probably like it more if it was actually in outer space, like Firefly. :P
I love the dragon & ninja creation from Al. He is very talented!
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension. Best movie ever. Laugh while you can, monkey boy. :)
That Alex is AWESOME!!! Just like Father Dragon Al. I think I will get me a copy of How I Found The Write Path.
Ohhhh… the ninja and dragon is absolutely incredible… wow… I'm speechless!!!!
And blast with the battle of the bands! :) And I'm LOVING reading all these treasure posts… it's SO MUCH FUN. :)
Good picks, Alex! I couldn't agree more about Edge of Tomorrow! SO SORRY I couldn't participate in this blogfest. I feel terrible! I had an exam and I was out of town for two days with no computer.
Cool treasures from the dragon. He is a talented soul.
Nice picks. For a movie... I just saw Stardust on Netflix the other day. I don't know why I never saw it or heard of it. It even has big stars in it like Robert Deniro and Michelle Pfieffer. I'm sure I murdered the spelling of their names. Anyway, awesome movie. Reminded me some of Princess Bride.
I remember being a bit intrigued by the movie...maybe I'll give it a try this winter..
1. Thanks for the shout-out, Captain! I appreciate it. :D
2. Father Dragon is so talented!
