Fifty States of Pray with Mini-Alex

Fifty States of Pray, hosted by Mark Koopmans.

For those who are hurting.
For those feeling lost and sad.
For those seeking answers.
For those who have lost faith.

May you find your peace this Christmas.

“For to us a child is born…” Isaiah 9:6

“For God so loved the world that he gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life...” John 3:16

Christmas blessings to all and Happy New Year!

And congratulations to Hilary Melton-Butcher who won eBook copies of my books for Milo James Fowler’s Tis More Blessed event.

See you on January 6, 2014!

And if you are reading this after Christmas, what presents did you get?

Hi Alex,
Thank you so much for the first comment at my prayer post, Sorry I am a bit late here,
Your simple prayer here is more powerful, and indeed we need to concentrate on that,
I like the Bible verse you quoted along, let me repeat: “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life...” John 3:16
Yes, this is the ultimate purpose of our Lord's arrival to this sin-stricken world. Thanks for the reminder.
Have a blessed day and Happy New Year

Nice. Good scripture choices ;-)

I love Mini-Alex's scarf!

We don't do presents for adults. We just give presents to the kids. But I did get new Vibram Five Finger shoes about a month ago and The Engineer got a Black Friday tool set with batteries...but as to the rest of the family, we send the money we would have spent to a charity and then go around the room and share where it went. Feels good.

Great ninja pic!

I like the presents question. Ees a good one. One of the coolest gifts I received was from my sister. She personalized a mug with the deets from one of my early novels, including the radio station and mascot for the deejay who is the narrator. It made me tear up big time! What she doesn't know is that ten days before that, I had picked it up and begun earnest revisions on it. It had been more than two years. :)

John Wiswell said...

Blessings to both your Regular Sized and Mini-Sized versions, Alex!

It was a nice holiday here, and I made off like a bandit. I got Journey, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes and Uncharted 2 for the Playstation 3, so I'll have plenty of games to unwind with in 2014 as I embark on my next novel!

David, thanks - and your 2014 will be awesome.

Jess, as long as you were excited about those socks!

John, you can't go wrong with a bunch of new games to play!

Thank you for the Christmas blessing, Alex my dear. I got a couple really cool gifts, including a book on Krav Maga and a new cell phone.

By the way, my blog was attacked on Christmas Eve by evil hackers (they apparently took down a lot of Word Press blogs) and it won't be functional again for another week or two. Meanwhile, I hope you have a splendid New Year.

Happy New Year Alex! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. We did here on the farm.

Isaiah 9 is one of my favorite parts of all the scripture. Wasn't it amazing that 700 years before the Messiah was born, he prophesied about it? Just goes to prove that all scripture is given by God.

P.S. When I put my post up it really bothered me that I was forgetting to add my favorite book. (I've been really sick.) Plus, I was having a low(I'm a type 1), and then when you commented, I jumped out of bed and came out to the desktop to make sure I added Cassastorm. When I saw I hadn't, I had to add you to my favorites. I have told everyone since the summer about your writing and CassaStorm. I really was having a low. (My blood sugar was crashing from all the extra insulin I've taken.)

Hope you had a fabulous Christmas Alex. I got the best Christmas present this year- the all clear from a very scary lump just before Christmas! I know it probably sounds corny, but it's like seeing everything through fresh eyes...

I wanted to come by and respond to your comment just to let you know that no, my cats don't walk on leads - they just walk beside me and there is a lot of stopping and starting while I wait for them to get a move on. :P And there is a fair bit of me chasing after them when they go too close to the road and so on. But luckily if cars ever drive by they flee far from the road, so I don't really have too many worries there. :)
