Special Thanks and News! Plus New Thor Poster, Comedy Movie Trivia, Ninja News, and Bizarre Photo

Today I am a guest of Mathew Bridle’s at The One Saga! Stop by to read my short interview.

Special Thanks and Fun News!

A big thanks to everyone who made the two-year anniversary of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group special! It was truly amazing and I’m glad everyone is excited about the upcoming website.
A big round of thanks to my co-hosts - Chemist Ken, SL Hennessy, Michelle Wallace, and Joylene Nowell Butler. You guys rocked it!
And special thanks to Elizabeth Seckman - her post was touching and funny. Elizabeth, honored to be your friend.

Sometime this week I slipped over 1900 followers through GFC. Whoa, thanks guys! I appreciate every single one of you. (There’s a slew of followers through Linky Followers, Google+, RSS Feed, and other readers like Feedly, so no idea just how many follow me now…)

I’m also now a Suvudu Preferred Poster, which is really cool

All in all, an awesome week!

Movie Trivia

Comedy today! Name the movie from the quote:

1 – “When someone asks if you are a god, you say YES!”

2 – “You made a woman meow?”

3 – “What is the matter with you? I thought Mothers were sweet and nice a-a-and patient. I know loan sharks who are more forgiving than you. Your husband ain't dead, lady. He's hiding.”

4 – “He’s an angry elf.”

5 – “Eddie, Eddie, I swear to God, don't start with me or so help me, I will shoot him and dump him in a ___ swamp!”

6 – “I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl. We ate lobster, drank piña coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. *That* was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get *that* day over, and over, and over... “

Answers on Monday!

Erm, is the first quote from Dogma? No idea on the others though. I'm still trawling through the comments left on my IWSG post - it was another epic turn out :-)

As always, I have *no* clue about any of the movies you watch... I think I was dropped as a child, but that's OK...I'll always have The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink to keep me going:)

Congrats on 1,900+ :)

PS: Wednesday's group meeting was fun, but I need fresh cookies for next month:)

That float is bizarre. Loving the new Thor poster. Is #2 Elf starring Will Farrell? And my fave quote is #3, mean and hilarious. Congrats to all the new authors and those who have books on special. We love you Alex, congrats on your blog and two years of IWSG.

I was disappointed to see the Thor poster. I disliked the first Thor because of all the fantasy other-worldly garbage. The new one appears that it will be more of the same nonsense. I wish he would just stay on Earth. That's more fun to me.

I like the new poster...creepy! So many great books. And I think the last one is Groundhog's Day.

Bevimus said...

IWSG was so effing great- and we are forever in your debt because of it!

So far as movies quotes go, although they all sound vaguely familar the only ones I can identify outright are from Ghostbusters (number one) and Groundhog Day (last one). Apparently I only remember things from Bill Murray movies, who knew?

I'm gonna head over and read your interview right now!

Arlee Bird said...

I followed the link to Matthew's blog but it did not take me to your interview. I think I found it in the Book Tour section. I tried twice to leave a comment and both times got this dumb message: Error: You have entered an incorrect CAPTCHA value. Click the BACK button on your browser, and try again..

Sorry I ain't messing with it any more. This is one of the reasons why I think Wordpress sucks!

Check your settings, Matthew. Maybe there's a way to fix this.

I was going to try to mangle my way through the movie trivia, but I accidentally cheated off of Huntress and I think her answers are way better than mine.

Can't wait for the new site! I'm certain it will be amazing.

Let's see if this works...I was having trouble posting comments earlier so I'm hoping it'll go through. I must have posted four comments before I realized they weren't showing up!

Anyway, hi Alex!!! I LOVE the idea of an IWSG website and really applaud you for giving so, so much back to the writing community.

Congratulations on the award! That's awesome, and you really deserve it. Good publicity, as well!

I felt the same way when I saw World's End...it was funny, but not as funny as I'd hoped it would be. Still an entertaining Saturday night, though. I also like the fact that Simon Pegg played the nutty character vs. being the serious character as he always seems to be.

Anyway, hope all is well with you!!
