Ninja News, Trivia Answers, Blogging Question, Video Feature. and Cassie Invasion!

The Dark Knight Rises is out today! Yes, I will be skipping out on work early to catch the first showing.

Invasion!

The delightful Cassie Mae has invaded the Ninja turf today!

Wow, did Alex really let me invade his blog?? *looks around and pinches self* It is so! Now, before I get into it, I have to say, THANK YOU to the Ninja Captain for asking me to spend the last month fretting over what the heck I’m going to say to his huge ninja army.

I’m a watcher of The Big Bang Theory. And if you are not, you should be. It’s HILARIOUS! There’s a character on the show who always asks questions not everyone thinks of. Such as, “Does Aquaman poop? And if he flushes the toilet in Atlantis, where does the poop go?”

So I talked to a few friends of mine and asked them this: What if Darth Vader wasn’t Luke’s father? Like, he took a paternity test and BAM! Whoopsy, you’re not my kid after all. Would the dark side win in the end? Lots of different answers for sure. Some said if Luke didn’t succeed Leia would have. Some said, heck yeah the dark side would’ve won. And some said if Darth Vader wasn’t their dad, their father would’ve at least had to be a Jedi, or the entire thing of Luke having the Force wouldn’t make sense. Whew! So many things rely on that one fact.

Since Star Wars is my kind of ‘Fairytale’, this is exactly what I thought of for a Plot Twist when we announced the… what is it called? Oh yes, the WHAT IF BLOGFEST in August. :D

Oh, yikes!!! I’ve hit my word limit! I’m going to wrap this up real fast before Alex cuts me off. Think of your stories (if you write) or think of any fairytale (if you read) or just try to answer that Aquaman poop question (if you do neither) and ask the possibilities of ‘What if?’ You’d be amazed how many stories rely on one single element to make them work :)

And did I mention the What If Blogfest? ;)

I totally do the same thing. I wonder if I changed one element of a story, how much it would affect the rest of it. Hmm… sounds like exactly the premise of the What If Blogfest I’m co-hosting in August. (Yes, I’m not above shameless promoting :))

Ninja News!

C. Lee McKenzie’s new book, Alligators Overhead, is out now. Congratulations, Lee!

Rick Daley’s children’s book, Rudy Toot Toot, is also available now. Congratulations, Rick!

DL Hammons of Cruising Altitude announced that the next round of Write Club will begin July 30. This time the stakes are raised, as the final round winner will be selected from a panel of publishing industry experts. What is Write Club? Well, we’re not supposed to talk about it, so you need to visit Cruising Altitude for details…

Howling Wolf Records is offering some cool giveaways – t-shirts, books, CDs, films – you name it! Check out their site for more information and some cool soundtrack and CD reviews. Remember, this site features our very own Retro Zombie, Jeremy!

Charity Bradford announced that the Unicorn Bell is holding a School’s In Query Contest. Check out their site for details.

And finally, Laura Josephsen just signed with agent Natalie Lakosil. Congratulations, Laura!

Blogging Question

Do you post when you can’t access the Internet?

I know some people schedule posts for while they are away. (Lee found a clever way to do this!) Do you? No right or wrong answer. I’d just decided a long time ago that if I couldn’t visit my blogger buddies that day and respond to comments, I wouldn’t post. (Which is why I skipped Wednesday this week. Meetings at work Wednesday and Thursday. As in, six hours a day to cover thirty minutes worth of material.) I just don’t feel right asking you guys to comment when I can’t visit your blogs.

80’s Trivia Answers

Video Feature!

Today’s book trailer is for Laura Eno’s Immortal Desires. Enjoy!

Well guys, Cassie wants to know – does Aquaman poop? Excited about the new books, contests, and giveaways? Ready for Write Club? (Remember, don’t talk about it!) Do you post while on vacation? Like Laura’s trailer? And who is ready for The Dark Knight Rises????

Finally, I am the first one to comment. Thrilled. I am ready for the The Dark Knight. Infact, I have been ready for a quite some time. Just need some company :)

Alex, I was worried that by the time I may type my comment someone may beat me to it and be the first one to comment. But today is my lucky day :)

Cassie's blogfest sounds like fun; my mind is already teeming with possibilities. I'll definitely be signing up for that. And oh yeah, DKR is here!!! :D

Great guest post from Cassie. Very thought provoking. I also thank her for the reminder of the blogfest. I still have to come up with something!

The blogfest from Cassie sounds fun. So does WRiTE Club. I don't post as often when I'm busy since I can't respond to comments like I should.

Brinda said...

I don't post as much when my day job work load gets crazy. Cassie's blogfest sounds fun. WRiTE Club is great!

Who what where? I'm soooooooooooo lost!!! I'm old, one at a time please! LOL!! Yay for everyone!!!! And Batman!!

I have the great late Jon Lord playing solo as I type this! RIP Jon!!!!

Take care

Cassie, I like the 'what if' approach. It can give a story some unexpected plot twists. I don't post when I can't comment on other's blogs.

Anonymous said...

Hi Cassie! I signed up for your blogfest last night!

Elise Fallson said...

So many awesome blogfests coming out this summer! Looking forward to seeing DKR sometime soon...hopefully. Thanks for the updates as always Alex!

Elizabeth Spann Craig said...

Nice exercise--asking "what if" for popular films or stories...helps to practise creating plot twists!

Alex, I hear you about meetings. I always try to get out of them by asking if the info can just be emailed to us... :)

Kyra Lennon said...

So great to see Cassie over here! :D

I am really looking forward to DL Hammons' WRiTE CLUB!

Heather Murphy said...

Great post from Cassie.
I love Big Bang Theory too and the What If Blogfest sounds fun.
I don't post while I'm away either for the same reasons.
Very excited about WRiTE CLUB!
Have a great weekend

DL Hammons said...

Thanks for mentioning WRiTE CLUB, Alex! I can't wait to get the ball rolling and see what kind of writing samples we get this year!

And that's one thing that's always bothered me about Star Wars...exactly at what point did Vader realize Luke was his child?

Have a great weekend! :)

Miranda Hardy said...

I don't schedule posts when I'm gone. I just take a vacation and carry on when I return.

Looking forward to the blogfest and the WRiTE CLUB. Should be fun.

Have a great weekend!

I love pondering "what-ifs".

If I'm pre-scheduling a post for when I won't be available to comment, I try to make it something that doesn't require too much in the way of commenting or response from me. Videos or photo stories work well. I've also acknowledged awards during those times. I avoid the meaty controversial stuff.

I wonder how the Colorado shooting will affect the Dark Knight movie? This will be a stain upon the memory of the film.

Going to see Dark Knight Rises tomorrow night. Can't wait!

I don't schedule posts since, well I never could apparently LOL

Awesome linkage!

Cassie, I love The Big Bang Theory. It is one of the best shows on TV. And I love the idea of a What If blogfest.

Anonymous said...

I love, love, love the "what if" position. I start almost all my stories from a "what if" premise (followed by "if this, then that," which always makes me happy to have studied at least a little bit of formal logic). Sounds like a fantastic blogfest starting in August!

Mark Koopmans said...

That "What If?" Blogfest sounds like something I could really have a laugh with...

oh...

Juliana Haygert said...

LOL love Cassie. She's so fun!
I do schedule posts sometimes ... but only if I'm sure I can go back to it later and answer to comments and visit their own blogs ...

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Rachna, you did it!

Michael, I am now hours away from it.

Brinda, writing has pulled me back some from blogging.

Kitty, hope Charlie is all right!

Elizabeth, I wish I could get away with that.

Heather, I just don't feel right doing it either.

DL, good question!

Lee, saw that this morning - what is wrong with people???

Melissa, that made me chuckle.

Mark, when could you NOT have a laugh with it?

Juliana, that's good!

Hi Cassie! *waves* The WHAT IF BLOGFEST sounds fun for sure. (Loved your WI btw.)

Alex: I'm with you on not blogging when you're away, unless it was for an extended period. When we traveled to Europe I prearranged for a few posts to go up so people wouldn't think I'd vanished for 3 weeks.

I actually think having a guest blogger is the best solution, but I'm not sure who I could convince to put their name on my crazy blog. :)

Rachel Schieffelbein said...

So much to be excited about! I'm looking forward to 'What If?' and WriteClub. :)

L. Diane Wolfe said...

I might throw up some LOL Cats in a post, but I don't post while I'm away.

I might have to try that blogfest.

Cate Masters said...

Fun post, Cassie. I love The Big Bang Theory too.
No, Alex, I usually don't blog if I can't access the Internet, or if I do, I make a note that I'll visit commenters later.
Congrats to all on the wonderful news!

Gossip_Grl said...

Laughing @ The Aqua Man poop Mystery. I think it should be classified in that same mystery of toilet flushes and which way the water spins depending on where you live in the world. :)
I have some postings pre-set and have let them go on the days I work, only because here lately I am only working 4 hrs a few days a week and can comment when I get home. Posting while on vacation- I wouldn't for the reason you gave. :) The Movie The Dark Knight, has apparently brought out someone with some real problems in Colorado. Very sad hearing about that this am. Nice posting BTW Cassie is always fun to read no matter where she posts. :)

Laura Eno said...

Thanks for posting my video, Alex!
It's such a sad thing about CO. Opening night will be forever linked that in people's minds.

Amy Jarecki said...

I do not post when on vacation, but I follow the Science Channel's advice, "Question EVERYTHING!"

Sarah Ahiers said...

Well, i typically write my posts a week in advance. But when i'm going to be away, sometimes i schedule them, and sometimes i don't. Lately it's been more "don't" because i feel bad about not responding to comments

Carol Kilgore said...

Love Cassie's blog fests, and I loved Laura's video - loved Immortal Desires, the book, too :)

I've never posted if I knew I couldn't respond.

I did have a couple of the trivia answers. Who could forget With or Without You!

Happy Weekend :)

Missed you on Wednesday, btw.

I think the better question is "Does Aquaman have male parts or a fish cloaca?"

Budd said...

obie wan is totally the father. Now if at the beginning of Jedi, Vader goes up to Luke and says, "I tested your amputated hand and it turns out I am not your father," I bet Luke wouldn't have believed him and would have tried to win his approval.

If Jedies are not allowed to marry/date where do all these younglings come from. Seems like the Jedies are trying to remove the force from the universe.

Karen Lange said...

Thanks for letting Cassie Mae share with us. It's nice to get to learn more about her!

As for your blogging question, I do post when I can't be around, unless I am taking a blog break. I like to do that just to stay on schedule, but I guess it really doesn't matter. I catch up with my comments and visiting other's blogs when I can get back at it.

Have a good weekend!

Tara Tyler said...

that cassie! i think she has to use poop, boob or pee in every post! ha! just kidding! love how she keeps it real & funny!

and i always have internet access. always.

Ciara said...

Oh my goodness, so much going on. Congratulations to C. Lee! I'm considering DL Hammond's contest. I'll have to see if I can squeeze it in. Love the video, Laura!
I'm seeing Dark Knight Rises tomorrow. I can't wait.
I do schedule posts ahead, but it is because my schedule is so erratic over the summer. I do the best I can. Since I moved to M-W-F, I've been able to visit most blogs in between my posts. It might be the day of the post or the day after. I just do the best I can. 3 1/2 weeks until school is back in session. :)

jaybird said...

Hey Cassie! OK Big Bang Theory is one of my fav shows. Sheldon is the best. I'm such a BBT geek I bought my kids the official "soft kitty" pillow. One of my favorite lines in that show was about Aquaman- it was when Raj said "Ah, man, even Aquaman doesn't want to be Aquaman!" LOL Loved it.

Alex- super excited for new Batman. Not sure if The Husband can contain his excitement. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is Ann Hathaway as Batgirl (so not a fan) here's hoping she can pull it off.

Liza said...

Curious to hear your take on the Dark Knight. I clicked over to find out about the Write Club. Amazing!

Sangu Mandanna said...

I am so dying to go see The Dark Knight Rises. Seems like all anyone can talk about now, though, is the shooting. :-(

randi lee said...

Your posts are always so fresh and hooking. Thanks for the great read!!!

Rick Daley said...

If Aquaman eats, he poops.

If Darth Vader wasn't Luke's father, Obi-Wan has a lot of explaining to do...

Glad I got 3 of 5 right on the 80s quiz!

And last but certainly not least, thanks for the shout out for Rudy Toot-Toot! If you want your kids grade K-5 to get excited over a book, get this one for them...response from young readers has been awesome! And don't be afraid that it's a story about a boy who farts, the moral of the story is all about self-control (in a very funny way).

Unknown said...

I like how it's become who has commented first on your post. Cool! I love your weekly news updates and questions. In response to your question, if I know I won't have internet, I may write my posts ahead and just have them scheduled.

Cassie Mae said...

Alex: Thanks for having me over! And I'm invading your comment section, cuz you said I could ;)

Michael: Oh yay! Looking forward to what you come up with. :)

Nick: Don't worry. So do I, lol.

Brinda: It's going to be a lot of fun!

Em-Musing: I tried to do the same thing with Harry Potter... If it really turned out to be Neville Longbottom and the Sorcerer's Stone. Hm...

Avantika: Thank you!

Elizabeth: It's a great writing exercise. I had to do it a bazillion times during revisions :)

Kyra: Sup, my peep! Nice to see you here in the old comment section :D

Heather: BBT is one of the greatest shows. I can't get enough of that one :)

DL: You know, I've gotten into this with the hubby. We've tried to pinpoint the exact moment. Because when he's in the Death Star tracking down Leia, we assumed when Vader says he feels a presence he hasn't felt in a long time, he's talking about Obi Wan, but he could be talking about Luke, too. When Obi Wan goes poof! I'm sure Vader realized the 'presence' was still there, since Luke was still alive. Then again, I'm not sure how smart Vader was, he may not have figured that out until Luke blew up the Death Star or Episode 5. I'd have to watch it again.

And there's my blog post answer, lol.

Melissa: BBT is awesome! I know people tend to love Sheldon the best, but I love Raj. He's hilarious.

Louise: I start most of my draft 2's that way, since draft one is always just getting the story out so it's not stuck in my head. It always changes after I do the 'what if' scenario :)

Mark: You came up with this idea, didn't you? I don't remember who did! I know it wasn't me, lol. :)

Juliana: Thanks, Juliana! <3

EJ: Thanks! It's going to be a lot of fun :D

Rachel: Yay! You're signed up, right? Can't wait to see what you have. You're awesome at fairytales :)

Cate: Thanks!

Gossip_grl: Hmm... that brings some bizarre images in my head, lol. And thank you! I was going to post on borg boobs, but really, it wasn't all that fun :)

Carol: Thanks! I love hosting them :D

Joshua: I'm sure we could find a naked picture of him somewhere.

Budd: I always wondered that, too. I was like, wait... are all these non Jedi's having Jedi babies? Or is it the midichlorians attach themselves to whatever they find? But if that's the case, the Jedi's wouldn't have died off... So many questions.

Tara: Darn it, I forgot the pee and the boob. ;) Now I'm actually going to check to see if I do use one of those in every post! Lol.

jaybird: There's a soft kitty pillow??? Where I can get one of these? And that was one of my favorite episodes! "Ah... Aquaman sucks."

Robyn Campbell said...

Great post to Cassie! Love the plot twist. And I do believe I swam by some of Aquaman's poop one day. EWW. I can't say for sure, but it closely resembled poop.

I do not post on vacation. Because I know I won't be able to visit everyone. I just quietly slip away.

So sorry for the lives lost at The Dark Knight Rises premiere. Praying for the families. A six year-old passed away. *sigh*

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

EJ. I bet you'd be surprised!

Cate, that's a good policy.

Gossip Girl, that was just tragic.

Amy, that's funny!

Sarah, that's it - I'd just feel guilty.

Thanks, Suze. I did still manage to visit a few people.

Joshua, I'd rather not think about it!

Karen, at least you catch up, and that's good.

Ciara, that works though!

Jaybird, don't let your husband explode.

Randi, I try!

Rick, you're welcome.

Clarissa, it's like a race.

Ok, just for fun, I'll ask my three sons the Aquaman question this morning. After breakfast, of course.

Congratulations to the writers with the excellent news. I LOVE hearing great stuff like that.

Alex, I used to schedule blog posts for when I was out of town, but then I decided that like you, I wanted to be around to chat back and forth. So for now my blog takes a vacation when I do :)

Johanna Garth said...

Cassie, WHAT IF darth vader wasn't luke's father?? That question just sort of rocked my world this morning.

Alex, never post if I don't have access to the internet because then I get all stress-y about not being able to return people's comments which makes my husband cranky so it's just bad all around!

Rajesh Koothrapali is a great character. I'm probably butchering the spelling of his name. I hope that they give him a love interest. He's the only one of the four guys that has not hooked up successfully with anyone (although they keep hinting at an ersatz gay romance which is absolutely hilarious). I love that Jim Parsons recently came out as gay. He's an inspiration to the entire community.

Such a fun guest post. I don't think Aquaman poops- but I never gave it much thought. I love the challenge to discount one fact and change the story. FUN! Awesome books news- yeah Lee and all of the other writers out there.

I do post on vacation- but I have a co-author and we blog togeher- so we share responsibilities. When one of us is away we just double up our work for that week. :)

Nope, I don;t post while on Holidays. This was my first time as my artist needed the votes for her pictures, but if it hadn't been for that I wouldn't have.

Obviously, I post on vacation, and sometimes I even find a hookup so I can visit blogland - like today. However, I try to minimize my vacation posts - either by posting less often, or posting smaller posts. I just pre-schedule for vacation days. I don't like to post if I don't think I'll be able to visit at all.

Tyrean Martinson said...

Oh, and Cassie - Great What If post!!! And Aquaman's poop just goes the same place as all the giant whale poop - floating around, hopefully broken down by tiny organisms, fish, and lots of saltwater. . . .maybe he has special fish friends. . . ok maybe that was too much what if

Congratulations to everyone releasing a book! And great guest post by Cassie. I laughed! And yes, Aquaman poops. Fish poop. Then other fish eat it. Aquaman doesn't need a toilet. He needs a little school of poop eating fish following him around.

I do pre-schedule all my posts. I've done it while away. It's very handy!

Cassie is so cute!! I'm thinking about what my entry should be - but I'm also thinking of a blogger break during August too, so . .

I don't like to schedule a post at a time I'll be away either. Unless I'll be back within a day of posting. I agree, I don't like for people to make the effort of commenting if I'm not going to be available to respond or return a visit. I get way behind in my blog commenting as it is without the added stress of not being around.

I had wondered why you missed a day Alex. I thought it was just me not keeping up :)

I'm not sure I'll watch The Dark Knight Rises - Batman has been overdone. Same basic story told over and over. The newest Spiderman is doing the same thing - retelling the story with different actors.

My luch time is over - gotta go. Have a great weekend.

I didn't know the answers to any of your questions. I totally forgot about Commodore computers. That was 'back in the day.'

Yes, Aquaman poops right in the water, just like fish do. So maybe one reason they keep swimming is to get away from their poop.

But as for the Dark Knight -- I live in Denver, and this morning I woke up to the terrible news. I doubt I'll be able to even look at trailers of the movie for a long time.

M Pax said...

Maybe Aquaman poops like a fish ...

Hope you enjoy the Dark Knight Rises, and hope it is an uneventful showing.

I do schedule ahead if I've made plans to have someone on my blog or committed to a blogfest. And I load up the spacedocks when they're ready. But, like you, if I'm not around, I just won't post.

Kela McClelland said...

It's exciting to see two of my favorite people in the same place. :D

I don't know about Aquaman pooping, haven't given it much thought.

I'm always excited about the new books, and contests/giveaways are always fun.

(I do not know what Write Club is...) I don't take vacations, but I have been posting even when I don't have time to visit other blogs. But I do skip days on my typical schedule. So, idk...

I'm ready for TDKR, but I also can't not think about Colorado, so it's a sad/excited mixture. :/

Anyway... Cassie, yay! for being on the Ninja's blog. :D And I hope you have an awesome weekend. (You too, Alex :D )

Jessica Salyer said...

Cassie's blog fest sounds like fun. Can't wait for Write Club. And I'm not really here, I'm a figment of your imagination. :)

Kimberly Gabriel said...

Cassie - I love your post. It cracks me up! I also love how you turn it into your inspiration for the What If blogfest - so creative!

Cassie,
I do not watch The Big Bang Theory because for me it is boring and pesky. I can't laugh about the jokes.

Alex, I'm a bit envious. The Dark Knight Rises will hit the cinemas in Germany next week. So I have to wait.

Blogging Question
Yes, I schedule posts especially before I go on holiday because when I go n holiday I do that without laptop and so on.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Robyn, it was a terrible tragedy.

Nancy, if you're commenting then that is good.

Julie, good for you! I want to be able to interact as well.

Johanna, you are a wise woman.

Michael, he's not gay, just desperate.

DMS, a good plan.

Laura, you're welcome!

Al, thanks for sharing that picture.

Dani, really?????

Miss Jack, just saw the movie - wow....

Jeremy, you are welcome.

LD, good plan. Sorry you're grossed out by fish-feeding though.

Jo, why does anyone take a baby to a movie, let alone one that late?

Cassie, fun when you're replying and five more comment during that time!

Suzanne, that's cool though.

Jennifer, just means you don't store useless information in your head.

Lisa, it was a terrible thing.

Leigh, she was going to discuss Borg boobs...

Tyrean, I just feel guilty...

Carrie, my wife likes to sing that song.

Donna, I know the feeling of stress. And yes, that's why I skipped a day this week.

Mary, it just doesn't seem right, does it?

Thanks for visiting everyone - was out seeing Dark Knight Rises this afternoon!

Sherry Ellis said...

Great job, Cassie! I don't know if Aquaman poops. I'll have to ask my son.

And no, I don't blog when I'm on vacation - I'm completely unplugged.

Lots of good ninja news. Congratulations to all!

Annalisa Crawford said...

I love Big Bang Theory... my kids love it to - my youngest called it Big Bang Fury until we coached him.

I try to only post on days I can visit other blogs too, although on Fridays I post and then go off to work until an hour ago... THEN I start visiting!

Love the "What if?" And Cassie Mae did a super job of invading!

Thanks for the shout out. Appreciate the help.

That's a very friendly invasion! :)

Cassie your guest post is fascinating. Its true what you say about so many things relying on one fact, reminding me of the redshirts and Bones in Star Trek for instance.

My God Jim, he's dead!

Ahhh to heck with him Bones, we've got bigger problems to worry about, besides theres plenty more where he came from, now come on people!

Why isn't Captain Kirk too put out? You may well ask...

Ella said...

Fun post Cassie ;D I have been toying with this idea~ It sounds so fun!

Congrats to Lee, Rick and Laura~

My son gave The Dark Knight Rises 5 stars!

When I'm away I auto-post. I'm usually only gone a few days, so it's not too hard to catch up with comments.

It was great seeing Cassie here. She's got me interested in The Big Bang Theory. I love humor.

Congrats to Laura.

I can't remember if I used a Commodore computer. Maybe my elementary and middle schools had them, but I can't recall.

Golden Eagle said...

Interesting post! That's a great point--a lot of stories do have a central point they revolve around.

Having never been away from the internet for more than two or three days straight, posting on vacation has never been much of an issue. But if I was going to be gone for longer than a week, I'd probably schedule one or two posts.

Lynda R Young as Elle Cardy said...

I'm the same. I won't post if I can't visit. It would take up too much of everyone's precious time. I just have to hope that no one forgets me while I'm gone ;)

Cassie Mae said...

Deana: Thanks, girl!

Suzanne: I think I could watch it like that too, lol.

Lisa: Oh I can't even imagine what it would be like in your book with a crime novel. My head would hurt just thinking about everything that would change.

Ilima: Bazinga! And I still haven't come up with anything, so no worries.

Leigh: I've got the borg boob post if you want to see it :)

Tyrean: Not too much, it makes perfect sense!

Carrie: Thank you! I have been feeling rather yucky with this morning sickness. ;)

Christine: Aquaman and his army of crap eating fish... he's unstoppable!

Donna: Aww... thank you! And join in if you decide not to go on that break :)

Helena: Huh, wise thought. And I'm so sorry about the tragedy in your state. I'm right next door in Utah, and my heart is with everyone there.

MPax: That does make sense, if he's got the anatomy.

Kela: You rank me among your favorite people? Sweet!! Have a great weekend as well!

Jessica: It's going to be a lot of fun... uh, apparition Jessica :)

Kimberly: Haha, I really am not above shameless promotion :)

edifanob: to each his own :)

Sherry: Tell me what he says!

Annalisa: BBFury, haha! I think I like that.

Lee: Thanks!

Jemi: I try to be friendly whenever I invade other people's blogs, though, I tend to worry about the lack of filter on my mouth :)

Spacerguy: I'm cracking up! I have no idea how to respond to that genius except to clap. *applauds*

Ella Oh yay! Can't wait to see what you have.

Medeia: BBT is so funny, but it's the characters that make it that way. You may have to give it a few episodes. I did and now I can't get enough.

Golden Eagle: I think so too, thanks!

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Edi, sorry you have to wait! It was awesome.

Annalisa, that still works!

Lee, you're welcome.

Spacerguy, we're asking!

Ella, I probably would as well.

Medeia, I don't remember what we had, either.

Eagle, I've been away five days at the longest and didn't bother posting.

Lynda, that's it - people's time is valuable.

Unknown said...

As always, Cassie, you crack me up! Lol, I said crack! BIG BANG rocks. We tape every episode and watch them over and over. Hubby and I say, "Okay, need a little Sheldon time." or "Penny? Penny? Penny?" Actually, I have two new (repeats) waiting for us tonight. :))

So much in this post my head is spinning...great guest post from Cassie!! Love the BBT.

Atleast I was right about the Angel Heart movie even though I could not remember the name...failed on all the rest.

I went to the Dark Knight Rises midnight show!!! I have a movie review coming up on my blog on the 30th, but can I say, that movie was AWESOME. I loved it especially because of the book it was inspired by :) You know the book, I think. They read a passage from it at the end :) I LOVE that book, and so, I loved seeing the references in the movie.

Will certainly go to see Dark Knight next week. Can't wait!

Great spotlight for Cassie Mae, most enoyable.

Thanks for having Cassie here. She's always a delight whenever I see her around the blogosphere.

I try to schedule out my blog posts if I know I'm going to be away without access to the internet.

And I will try to participate in WriteClub again. I enjoyed it last time.

Soft kitty, lol! My 12-yr-old is the female Sheldon. So Dark Knight? Not seeing it this weekend w/ the craziness but hopefully next weekend. Very saddened by the tragedy.

Melissa said...

Hi, Cassie. To answer that question, I'd need to know if Aqua Man eats. :P

Re: Blog hiatus...
I schedule blog posts regularly, even if the day falls on a holiday. But I haven't been away on vacation yet to have to deal with that. Hmmm. I don't know. I guess it would depend on how long I was going to be away.

I would probably either postpone the post or make a note at the bottom as to my absence. Regular followers of GPM might get a bit testy if they didn't get their weekly dose of grammar. :D

Congrats all around on the pub news! :)

Gwen Gardner said...

Awesome guest post by Cassie - the blogfest sounds fun. Enjoyed the book trailer very much, too. I posted during my vacation last summer (I took my computer along), but of course I don't have as many comments to answer as you do.

Cassie Mae said...

Candy: Oh I try to do that Penny? Penny? Penny? joke, but I'm never near something to knock on. Lol.

Charles: It's an awesome show. :)

Chuck and CM: Thank you!

Angela: Aww... you are too sweet! Thanks!

Jamie: I want to meet this girl :)

Melissa: That's a good question. I'll have to look through the comics to see if he's chowing down on anything. I imagine he doesn't eat fish... would that be sort of like cannibalism?

Gwen: it's going to be a lot of fun! Thanks!

Tonja said...

I'm actively avoiding blogfests right now, but What If sounds like fun. As for posting when you can't read other people's blogs - I think it's OK to catch up later. I'm never offended when people do that or if they miss a few.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Candy, we watch it all the time as well.

Chuck, you knew it even if you couldn't remember the name. Which is all right as it wasn't a good movie.

SC, saw the first showing Friday and thought it was amazing. Understand the reference, although I've never read Tale of Two Cities.

Moody, catching up is the key.

Melissa, I haven't been gone longer than five days. Probably still won't schedule any posts.

Tonja, catching up later is all right.

I last year during the holiday program a daily post. But I put off comments. About 25% - 30% of my visitors never leave comments, and it seemed unfair to leave these fans without seeing pictures.

Tracy MacDonald said...

So happy to see Cassie here today and I'm all for her next blogfest! I do set up posts in advance almost regularly as life with 3 kids can be unpredictable. I know how much I appreciate others' comments so as a general rule I try to always comment when visiting other sites even if it's just a short one. It's almost impossible to keep up with every blog. I say Aqua Man does poop and whichever ocean scavenger is closest is the one to *take care* of it. It's the food chain!

Hi Alex, I post when I'm just going to be away from my computer for a day or most of a day, but if I'm going to be gone a week or so, I tend to schedule a blog vacation. I'm definitely going to schedule one of those vacations in November when I do NaNoWriMo again.

I love The Big Bang Theory. The What If Blogfest sounds like a lot of fun. Will be checking it out.

I've never watched The Big Bang Theory. Not even sure if I've seen commercials for it.

As far as Aquaman pooping, I think cartoon characters and others along those lines are exempt from worrying about things like that. My son and I actually had a similiar conversation when we first started watching CatDog. If you haven't seen it, it's the front half of a dog and the front half of a cat joined at the waists. Thus the question, how does a CatDog poop?

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

David, it's a good way to ruin a monitor.

Susanne, that is a very good question.

So much good stuff, Alex! We saw Batman on Friday and enjoyed it. Some of Bane's scenes were too long, but Rises is a great finale to Nolan's trilogy. That being said, the last scene SO makes me long for another in the series...

Theresa Milstein said...

Hi, Cassie. I've heard such good things about The Big Bang Theory. I need to watch it!

Cassie Mae said...

Tracy: I guess that does answer where the poop goes, lol. :)

Tasha: That's a good thing, right? :)

Alex: Haha! Just read your response to Tasha and I think we are on the same brainwave, lol.

David: We need to sit at the same end of the table one of these times, though you intimidate the crap out of me!

Morgan: High fives for the blogfest, Morgy! :D

Donna: Thanks!

Susanne: I had the same conversation when I was little with my brother! We both wondered which end had the intestines.

Theresa: Hi! It's hilarious! :)

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Milo, I know!!!

Cassie, thanks again.

I've been out of it this weekend and finally trying to catch up. I can't wait to see The Dark Knight Rises. That's the movie I most want to see this year, I just need to find a babysitter. yeah, I knew none of those trivia questions.

Cassie Mae, that was such a fun and thought provoking post. I should give the Big Bang Theory another try.

Sheena-kay Graham said...

Does aquaman poop? Hilarious and totally a Cassie question. Thanks Alex for bringing her over. Immortal Desire trailer is steamy. And Luke's father being someone else? Talk about alternate reality of insanity.
