Double Feature!
Two special features today.
First, I have an interview with Laura Barnes, awesome blog critiquer. No critique today, but I do talk about book promotions and blog tours.
Second, every other Wednesday is a special A to Z Challenge participant feature at the A to Z Blog. Today I’ve interviewed Stormy the Weather Gnome. Come hear what Stormy has to say about challenges, dating, and foot moss.
Ninja News!
I’m also looking for bloggers to feature at the A to Z Blog. If you participated in the Challenge with a theme and are interested in an interview feature, let me know.
Vine Leaves Literary Journal is offering you the opportunity to win free critiques from publishing experts and a one-year subscription to WritersMarket.com! Visit Jessica Bell’s BLOG for details.
And I got these Tuesday and just had to share. My publisher sent me the new design they are using for my promotional postcards. Look at the new graphic - Amazon Sci-Fi Best Seller!
And no, I never, ever imagined that happening!
Movie Trivia!
Below are seven taglines – can you name the movies without Googling the answers? (All are from the 80’s and 90’s. And yes, I saw all of them in the theater. Does that surprise you?)
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
An adventure 65 million years in the making.
A tale of murder, lust, greed, revenge, and seafood.
The coast is toast.
Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas.
Does for rock and roll what "The Sound of Music" did for hills.
Thank God it's only a motion picture.
Answers Friday!
Interested in a feature on the A to Z Blog? Excited about the Vine Leaves Contest? Know any of the movies? Do you realize June is half over????
Be sure to visit Laura Barnes and Stormy!

I recognize all the taglines but couldn't match movies to them. :( The new covers with your bestseller stamp are awesome!
These taglines almost completely elude me. :(
I'd take a wild guess with the 65 million years one and say Jurassic Park!
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
The Fly.
An adventure 65 million years in the making.
A tale of murder, lust, greed, revenge, and seafood.
A Fish called Wanda.
The coast is toast.
Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas.
Army of Darkness.
Does for rock and roll what "The Sound of Music" did for hills.
Thank God it's only a motion picture.
Great covers Alex! June is quickly giving way to July and I am so looking forward to that month! Off to check out your links.
*COOL* idea to feature some of the A-Zers...
I'd lov- ...
Oh I didn't participate... whaaghhh :(
PS... thanks for the comments and YES! Ireland shall be victorious... one day!
Thanks, Brinda!
Michael, you got it!
Lurker, you got three of them.
Mark, next year!
One, SUPER CONGRATS on the bestseller stamp! WHOOHOOOOOO!
Two, I have NO idea where any of those lines came from. Does that make just terrible? I should really watch more movies.
And third, I'm always in awe of your blogging...you're like the SUPERMAN of the blogosphere! ROCK ON!
~JD
Those covers look AMAZING!
Thanks so much for interviewing Stormy. He had a great time! I'll be visiting the site today to thank people for commenting too!
Movies:
The Fly? (Ugh. Still gross to think about one)
Jurassic Park.
A Fish called Wanda! (love)
?
?
This is Spinal Tap!!! \m/
Airplane? (And stop calling me Shirley!)
I'm going to read your other interview!
Thanks, Alex!

My A-Z theme was Books That Inspired Me - if that's interesting to you at all?
Those are some great looking postcards Alex. Congratulations! I may take you up on the A-Z post, but have to find a good topic first.
Four of the tag lines sound very familiar, but I couldn't get the movies this early in the morning if my life depended on it;)
Oh gawd, I looked at all your movie taglines and recognized all of them but couldn't tell you what they are if my sorry life depended on it.
And, hey, don't your book covers look FINE with those bestseller starbursts!
YAY! on the Best Seller stamp! That's awesome!
I did do the A-Z but I didn't really have a specific theme.
The postcards look awesome!
(Didn't know any of the movies, although I feel like I should know the first one.)
Congrats on the new covers! They look so great!
Amazon Sci-Fi Bestseller!!!! Whoot! Congrats, Alex :D
The first one is really familiar, but I have no idea. Congrats on the best seller status!
Congrats on the best seller covers!
I know several of those tag lines but not what they go to.
Love the promotional postcards. Cool idea. I see them a lot at conferences, and often pick them up for later reference when browsing online for books.
Justine, thanks!
Heather, thank you. And Stormy! Got the tags right.
Thanks, everyone. The postcards were an awesome surprise.
I think the Fly for the first one but the rest I don't know.
This is a fun post.
Read your interview. It's always interesting to me how we learn as we go and modify as needed.
Cheers and boogie boogie.
I recognize almost all of them, but can't remember which movies. I enjoyed Stormy so I'll check that out. Lee had asked me to do a spot for A-Z but haven't heard form him, I'll follow up. Okay, off to check out your other posts. Congrats on the Amazon Best-Seller graphic. Woot!
I watch a lot of movies but generally fail the tagline quizzes. :)
I was going to say the quotes all came from the film "Splash"... Stormy needs to make a record and sing out his adventures, but I mean a LP... too good for Cd!
:)... I wish I had a million dollars... hot dog!
The postcards are awesome. I can hear your excitement.
See you at the other blogs.
Teresa
Ha! I've heard a couple of them before but I have no idea. I'd think the 65 million years one could be Jurasic Park...
Thanks Whisk and you are correct!
Jeremy, suggest it!
Katie, you are correct!
Thanks, everyone!
I love interviews, I'm game.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
I know this but can't think of it. I'm going to be pissed when I find out what it was.
An adventure 65 million years in the making.
Jurassic Park
A tale of murder, lust, greed, revenge, and seafood.
The coast is toast.
Volcano
Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas.
Army of Darkness
Does for rock and roll what "The Sound of Music" did for hills.
No clue.
Thank God it's only a motion picture.
I know this one too, but I'm having a brain fart.
I like your covers! Those are very cool! I've been keeping an eye out for your books because I want to read them.
Hm, movies. The first line sounds like Star Wars...but so does the second...so, I might have both wrong.
No clue of the third or forth. The fifth, is it Lost in Space?
And, not sure of the others. (I did badly this time. 8-P)
Wow! Congrats on the cool new sticker. That is awesome.
Darn, I do recognize most of the taglines but have no clue what movie they are attached to.
So, I remember some of the movie tag lines, for the life of me I can't remember the movies they are from. Brain farts maybe. Loved reading the Stormy series in April. Now can't wait until Friday for the answers to the lines.
i'm dying for the answers and ready to kick myself for not knowing!
yay stormy!
Read Stormy's interview... what a riot.
Congrats on the postcard. That's very cool.
And I think the tagline about the murder, revenge and seafood is from A Fish Called Wanda but I sadly don't know the others.
I don;t know the answers to any of the movie trivia. I guess I need to brush up on that! Yay for bestseller status!!!
Alex, great interview on Laura B. The taglines?
1 - Don't know
2 - Land of the Lost?
3 - Fish Called Wanda?
4 - 2001?
5 - Don't know
6 - Don't know
7 - Ten Commandments?
I recognize that first one and can almost hear the voice ...dammit! I am forgetting all my movies.
Cool posttcards!
I remember hearing most of these clips, but never saw any point in remembering them.
Off to check out the links.

An A to Z Co-Host
Tossing It Out
The postcards are gorgeous... and I'm useless when it comes to movie trivia... as per usual!
OOH! Love the new graphics! Awesome!
Pretty postcards!! Love the covers! I never get put to see movies anymore, so I'm clueless. But heck yeah, I did the A to Z with a theme & I'd love to do an interview if my theme is interesting enough. Going over to see Stormy now!
Hi, Captain...
Man it feel great to visit again. I am free this morning to blog...YAY! Of course I had to visit. You are always in my thoughts even if I am not present.
CONGRATS on the postcard .... it is BEYOND! The best of luck with tons of exposure and sales.
I LOVE the fact that you are featuring A-Zers on the A-Z blog. I would love to be featured, as soon as I get home and can breathe again.
As always you are a never-ending inspiration to us all.
Michael
Intriguing tease for that review. I can't guess what movie you're talking about.
The first one is Yoda I think...
Is the second one "Jurassic Park?"
Is the fourth one Godzilla?
Hmmm...you challenge my brain sir.
I love the postcards. They are beautiful, Alex. Congratulations :)
Oh wow. The postcards look so PROFESSIONAL and FANCY!! *squee!*
Wow, that's so awesome that both are bestsellers on Amazon. You must be very happy!
What do you mean by interview? I might be interested. Email me.
Awesome postcards!
I'd love to do an interview feature! :D
Love the Stormy interview :)
And your new postcards!
I actually knew four of these, one of which is one of my favorite movies.
Your postcards are awesome! I don;t know any of the movie quotes. :( I'm checking out Stormy's interview right now.
Congrats on the bestsellers rankings for both your books! I can't wait until you take the world by CassaStorm...
Awesome new designs! Congratulations, Alex! You deserve it!
Also, the taglines are familiar, but I can't seem to place what movies they're from.

Having the Best Sellar stickers is fantastic. Congratulations.
Most of the taglines sounded familiar but the only one I knew was A Fish Called Wanda - one of my all time favorite movies.
No, I'm going to need Google for the answers. ;)
Those postcards look awesome.
I saw Laura B's interview earlier. It was interesting to read how you planned your promotion.
I wouldn't mind an interview at A-Z!
The Vine Leaves thing sounds good too - thanks. Congrats on being SF bestseller!
As for the taglines, the only one I'm pretty sure on is 2 - Jurassic Park. 1 is bugging me - Predator??
6 *might* be Blues Brothers.
Love the postcards. What will you use them for?
Rick, you got three right!
Thanks Miss Jack.
MJ, very good!
Maurice, you got number three.
Nancy, expect an email!
Michael, thanks - we'll make it happen.
Michael, got Jurassic Park. And thanks!
Callie, glad my publisher did them and not me!
Andrew, I will.
Jaycee, I'll get with you.
Carol which one???
Jeffrey, the story is flowing fast right now.
LD, that's it! Awesome movie.
Thank you, everyone!!
Love the best seller postcards! I thought I was pretty good at movie trivia until I met you! Julie
Hi Alex .. the postcards are amazing and such a great idea .. so much going on - I don't know how you keep up .. but if you'd like to interview a castle sometime .. I'm here!!
Cheers Hilary
Hooray for Laura! I'll check on your interview and visit Stormy. Those badges on your book covers are amazing Congratulations!!! You deserve them. I only know the first one...well I remember it from somewhere - it's accompanied by scary music like Jaws music (except it's not Jaws)...OK I'll go away now...
I would say "yes, feature me please" but that's already on the cards :)
Dang, half way through June already. By my calculations I only have 37 minutes of British Summer left :(
Read your funny and entertaining interview with Stormy the Weather Gnome.
Of course I left a comment.
Sorry, Julie.
Hilary, you're on the list.
Susan, thanks and answers Friday.
Jamie, you are good to go in two weeks.
Thanks, Edi!
I have writer's rock syndrome. I can't think of an answer to a single tag line. Guess I'll have to rely on you!
As to foot moss . . . Will Stormy offer a cure?
Already paid a visit to stormy. Can't wait to see which movies I'm correct about.
Ooooh, neat postcards!
Congrats on the postcards, they look great. The taglines hum let's see... yeah got nothing.
Awesome art, Alex ... I guess I'll have to use more than crayons if I'm going to keep up.
What a great promotion that postcard. I imagine that every success will give you much moral CassaStorm.
I am hanging my head in shame - can't pinpoint a singe one of those taglines. Pathetic.
Congrats on the awesome new cards with SPECTACULAR new graphic!
I'm so excited Stormy's back. I missed that lil' rascal. I'd be up for an A to Z interview or whatever if you'll have me.
I know what "An adventure 65 million years in the making" is from...or at least I hope it's from Jurassic Park. Otherwise, I need to watch those movies again.
Love the new design for your promotional postcards! :D
I would be interested in a feature on the A to Z Blog.
Both interviews were excellent; thanks for sharing.
I'd be interested in being interviewed for the A-Z challenge, please, if you're still looking for people.
Thanks for the tip about opportunity to win free critiques, I'll have to check it out.
Those covers/ postcards are awesome. I love both fonts used, and the spacecraft graphics are fantastic.
Lee, he does!
Thanks LB!
Thank you, Leovi.
Nicki, sounds good.
Cherie, you got it, and that would be great.
Clare thanks and I will be emailing you!
I'm always up for a feature ...
Will hop by your other venues. Cool on the new cover.

4) The meteor movie with Tea Leoni - Sudden Impact?
5) no clue
6) Footloose???

Great idea for a trivia game, even though I should have done better. Could have nailed it with google...but I ain't no cheater!

Post A-Z Road trip!
Wow, Alex, those new promo postcards rock! Awesome that it says "Amazon best seller!" You are busy as always with a million irons in the fire. I'm amazed at all that you do!
Mary, I'll get with you soon!
Tina, you got one. Good memory for your third guess though.
Thanks, Lynn!
The postcard looks great.
Movie Trivia is always fun. I don't know any of them but am anxious to find out.
xoRobyn
Awesome! Congrats on the new image for your covers. You deserve it for all your hard work.
The promotional postcards look great! Those are terrific book covers. As far as the tag lines go, I've heard of a few, like the first one and the coast is toast, but I couldn't tell you what movies they're from. How nice of you to feature A-Z bloggers. I might be interested in doing that.
Love the design for the postcards! Super cool.
It's really sad, but I have no idea where those taglines come from.
I'd be interested in an interview, if you think my science theme for the Challenge would be suitable.
The first quote rings a bell--loudly--but I can't place it. Guess I'll have to wait 'til Friday!
June is really disappearing. And then 2012 will be half over . . . gah.
LOVE the postcards - and having that graphic on them is so completely awesome!!! :)
I vaguely remember a couple of taglines, but can't identify the movies at all!
Robyn - Friday!
Sherry, we'll be in touch!
Golden, you still have many more years in you. I'll send you an email soon.
All I remember is The Fly for #1? That movie creeped me OUT! Fun contest. :)
Congrats on the best seller tag and Fun movie lines!
Your jazzed up covers are awesome. Amazon Sci-Fi Best Seller? You rock, good sir.
And yes, I'm interested in the A-Z feature.
Jennifer, you got it!
Thanks, Heather.
Lynda, thank you! And I will send email soon.
Ok, I'm too young to know any of these. I was only born in the 90! Besides, I'm still getting over a weird fact I learnt last night. Someone made a horror move about sheep. Okay...
Awesome postcards! I recognized some of the taglines. Ah, if only I could come up with something that catchy!
Uh-oh! Quotes and me just don't mix. They are familiar but I've no chance of placing them. Looks like you've got lots of suggestions though. I read the comments thinking "Yes, of course!"
Awesome news about the Amazon Best Seller!
Funny that I knew all the movie tags, but can't remember which movie they belong too... argh... bad memory.
These are some good ones. Recognizable, but not necessariIy easy to guess. I can guess a few of these. I think 65 Million years is likely Jurassic Park.
The postcards look fantastic!
And the tag lines make me laugh. A couple I recognized but most I didn't. I hope you'll post the answers on your blog. Don't leave us hanging!
Okay, I'm on my way over to Laura Barnes' blog right now.
And very cool new covers for your books. I'm putting together an upcoming post about ordering other blogger's books for your local library and have both of yours in my library. I'll take a pic of me holding both your books if I can ever find them both in at the same time. I guess this is a good problem to have as people are taking your books out.
Love the designs your publisher did for you - fantastic, as always! Headed over to Laura's.
Another good trivial post and reviews.God to be back, thanks for your concern.
Yvonne.
Imogen, I'm sorry!
Thanks, Botanist.
MsMariah, you are correct!
Leslie, they will be revealed Friday.
Stephen that would be really cool!!!
Yvonne, glad you're back.
I may have forgotten yesterday, but nice pics the publisher sent you.
Between my post last night and now.. Ireland has not been beaten in Soccer... oh... we haven't played yet.... seven hours and forty-four minutes to go....
Whoo Hoo!!It is awesome sauce all the way around. I love hearing good news. :)
Congrats on the new graphics, my best-selling friend. Hope CassaStorm is progressing smoothly.
Thanks so much for mentioning the contest! Really appreciate it!
I would love to partcipate in the interviewed. A to Z challenge was my first writing challenge and it really gave me the confidence to just write and put it out there.
The post cards look great!
I know that I have heard most of these lines, but I just cannot pick them.
How cool are those stickers! :)
My memory's terrible, so the tag lines are lost on me.
Off to your interview...
Sad but I didn't recognize any of the taglines; of course, afterward it will be obvious.
And I love the postcards. Awesome. Bestseller!
I got extra goodies from your publisher when they sent me the copy I won. I love having your book as my bookmark!
I'd be interested in the interview over at the A to Z blog. Some of those quotes sound familiar. I'll be kicking myself when you reveal the answers.
Play off the Page
The coast is toast, this is the Volcano. I managed to trap you suggest, or forgiveness you suggest not to do.
I just realized, I don't know anything about movies. I have to start watching more movies. Heading over to Laura Barnes' site.
Okay...I didn't read any of the comments to see if they got the movie trivia.
Let's see if I know any of them.
1. Star Wars? Return of the Jedi?
2. Jurassic Park
3. A Fish Called Wanda
4. No clue
5. Bill and Ted's....
6. Yikes, still no clue
7. Jeepers. Totally stumped.
LOL!!! Hopefully I got a couple??? LOL!
Love me some movie trivia!
Not a clue on the tags BTW. Man, I suck.
The postcards rock.
And I'd do a A-Z interview. :)
Love the new pictures for the postcards!
Even though I've never seen the movie I think #1 is THE FLY.
I'm heading over to Laura's blog now.
Mark, fingers crossed for you!
Jessica, you're welcome.
Sydney, thanks! I'll be in touch.
Suze, thanks!
Mary, I'll email you soon.
Lynn, you got two right.
Thanks,, Mina.
Bish - yes!
Thanks, guys!
I recognized few of the tag lines, but just could not match them to the movies.
Those covers are great, Alex! Congrats! :) Now...onto figuring out those taglines.
those covers look amazing! Sadly, I could not guess any of those tag lines. And also sadly, I didn't participate in A to Z because I just didn't have time this year. But Nancy Thompson had a great series on writing!
Thanks for all the info and links. Your postcards look great!
As far as the movie lines - I know the first one but can't recall which movie. Rats. The second line, didn't Jeff Goldblum say it in Jurassic Park?
Happy almost weekend!
Postcards look great.
And Stormy's interview was really cute.
Lisa, yes she did!
Karen, don't know if he said it, but you got the movie right.
Thanks everyone!
Dynamite new covers!!! :)
Wow! I have no idea which movies those lines are from. I'm totally stumped.
And super congrats on the new design covers. I give you permission to do a happy dance around the house, Alex! One, two, three---> Dance!
Hi Alex! I'm about to check out your interview with Laura. You seem to be all over the blogosphere! :)
The postcards look SO cool. I think I like Cassa Fire more because the graphic makes you feel as though you're right in the middle of the action.
Hmm, today's movie trivia is hard! Ahh I don't recognize any of these lines, but they are awesome - especially "The coast is toast" lol. "Be afraid. Be very afraid" sounds really familiar...
By the way, I'm hosting an awesome blogfest and critique giveaway at my blog from June 22-24 if you're interested! :) Hope you have a great day.

The Roarin' Twenties Poetry Blogfest + Chapter Critique Giveaway (hosted by The Red Angel)
The post cards are awesome, of course! I just met Stormy - what an awesome dude - some lucky gnomette will grab him up for sure! I caught your interview at LBW's too which was awesome. I'll revisit it when I'm ready for a blog tour:)
I love the post cards! These are awesome! I'm excited for you...
ooh, the coast is toast...??!!
You rock ;D
Julia, I'm dancing. Sort of!
Wendy, I will check it out. Thanks!
Ge=wen, hope it helped.
Ella, you rock!
The new cover is SOOOO awesome! The whole series' covers are perfectly designed in the same theme. Love it.
I'm late responding (yeah, as usual), so I saw some of the answers and won't even attempt to cheat, heh.
Have a fabulous weekend.
I'm late commenting here, but I just wanted to say that the new covers are awesome :D
And I didn't realize that June was half over, thanks, Alex. *humph* :p
