My theme – I have selected a word for each day and will present to you blogger buddies who fit that description, along with movies, music, etc. My theme is to give back, highlight some awesome bloggers, and have fun in the process.
QUIRKY
Siv at Been There Done That
Siv is one of those spirits who feels so free. She’s passionate about her kids and her country. She knows more about Norse mythology than anyone I know. And just when you think you understand, along comes Minnie! Siv and Minnie have gibberish down to a science and they always invite us to join the madness. Quirky or not, I just adore Siv and hope she stays with us for a very long time.
Tonja at Tonja’s Musings
Perhaps quirky isn’t the right word for Tonja. And yet, I never know what to expect when visiting her blog. She could be having a good day, a bad day, or a weird day. Despite her mood for the day, I always feel a connection with Tonja. If she ever stopped blogging, it would be a very sad day indeed.
Farscape
When I think of the word quirky, this show always pops into my brain. Farscape deals with a group of aliens who have escaped the corrupt intergalactic authority known as the Peacekeepers aboard a living ship named Moya. They are joined by American astronaut John Crichton who has been flung through a wormhole while testing an experimental aircraft for NASA. What other word could be used for a show where the main character’s brain is inhabited by his arch-enemy who inserts himself into all of John’s memories. Yup….Quirky!
NINJA NEWS!
Kittie Howard’s book "Remy Broussard's Christmas," is available on Amazon with every penny's commission going to the Wounded Warrior Foundation. It’s a great cause and her book is only 99 cents!
David Powers King posted a review of CassaFire – and it was good! All you fans who wanted a romantic interest – well, you got one! Now go enjoy.
Following Siv and Tonja? Ever watch Farscape? (And if you did, who was your favorite character?) Any causes near and dear to your heart like Kitties’s? And quirky! Come on people – who do you know who is quirky? Or would you like to share something quirky? Try not to scare anyone… (Cassie, this means YOU!)

Never heard of Farscape.
Yvonne.
Ka'Dargo was my favourite and the blue one!
Oh Farscape. Beautiful amazing mesmerising Farscape! Now THIS was a proper show.
Take care
x
Lurker, you mean Chiana?
I'm going to have to go look up Farscape. It sounds familiar, but can't place it. First, I'm off to meet two new bloggers.
I think the quirkiest blog i follow is Copyboy - his "guess the rash" series instantly came to mind...
Thanks Alex! So glad you didn't use the word Queer to describe me. Although come to think of it, I might just be a bit queer as well :/ Never heard about Farscape but it sounds like something I would like. Over here though I would probably have to obtain it illegally. I love Tonjas blog and it has been fun visiting all the blogs you bring up during the challenge. Not many letters left....Going to miss this.
I know that I have watched Farscape, but I really cannot recall too much about it, I would need to refresh my memory to pick a favourite character.
A character I think is quirky is Sheldon from Big Bank Theory! He cracks me up!
I visit Tonja to hear about her day all the time! I'll visit Sid and WOOT, WOOT for romance in Book 2. ;)
I love the word quirky... I always link it to "quirky charm" which is a hard to define yet highly desirable characteristic (in my opinion).
I think it's a special, unique personality trait.
I've been to Tonja's place... not sure if I've popped in to Siv's place yet...
Gosh, the letter Q is such a challenge. Will be interesting to see what others come up with...
I am not a watcher of Farscape, not for the lack of trying... I just never got into anything outside of the Star Trek Universe.
Long Live, and Prosper... Dick Clark.
Someone I find Quirky... recently Sheldon Cooper, Morgan Grimes and older...Mork from Ork!
Farscape! One of my favorite shows. I think it took them a bit to hit their stride, but once they did, man, that was one amazing experience.
I try to visit Tonja every time she posts... Siv is new to me.
I saw that review of CassaStar too. Good stuff.
Thanks, Alex! That was a surprise. :)
Ooh, big congrats to Kitty! Fantastic! And I must pop over and visit Siv. It's been a while.
I've always wanted to watch Farscape but never had to time to do it cuz of all the other shows I've invested my time in...like The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad! :)
I think you're quirky. But that's a good thing.
I think you're quirky. But that's a good thing.
I saw David's review. It was great.
Farscape was quirky indeed!
Lisa, yes he is at the top of the quirky list!
Siv, you're welcome! And glad you've enjoyed my theme. Think I'll miss it as well.
CM, Sheldon is a good pick!
Brinda, I gave the fans what they wanted.
Michelle, some quirk is indeed charming.
Thanks, Rusty!
Tonja, hopefully a good surprise.
Jack, there's only so many hours in the day...
Thanks, Clariass!
I would have picked Rusty for this letter :)
I LOVE quirky! now off to check out some blogs :)
I never got into Farscape. As much as I love everything sci-fi, I just couldn't get into it.
Quirky blogs rock!
I love Farscape. Any show that creates a new vernacular just for swearing in is alright by me.
Scorpio was a great villain and that would be enough for most shows, but to have Harvey in the mix (and in the protagonist's brain) as well was genius.
The blue one was Zhaan.
Dave
Dave Wrote This
Karen - funny!
Dave, Scorpio was just pure genius.
I follow Siv and Tonja. They're great.
Ahaha, yes Tonja can be quirky sometimes, but always herself and always fun to read.
*thumps fingers* Farscape. The name rings a bell, but I can't place it. Must look it up now though. I love quirky.
Will visit these pals of yours. I don't know either of them.
Thank you award should go to Kittie. What a super thing she is doing. *applause* I mean that. The Wounded Warrior Foundation is awesome. Everyone buy this book!
My son has a rare brain disorder called Sturge-Weber Syndrome. That is my cause Alex. But the wounded warrior project is a great thing. Thanks for telling us about Kittie. *waving and smiling*
I know and follow Tonja and I found Siv through an incredible experience. Love her stuff.
No TV, BUT Farscape sounds like a show I would enjoy.
What no Q music?
Not following these blogs but will have to check them out. Like your choice for the letter Q!
I don't know why, but I read "Michael Crichton" when I saw "John Crichton" in your description of Farscape and was like ??? They turned him into a sci-fi character?!
I love quirky. :) I will check these guys out.
I almost used quirky!
Love Siv and Tonja. Regular follower.
I think I saw some of Farscape but I didn't become obsessed, I mean, it didn't catch on with me!
Causes that stick with me? Donating blood, the library and the volunteer fire fighters.
See you tomorrow!
HMG
Oh Farscape! I used to watch that show all the time. Another quirky one like that, and another favorite, has to be Mystery Science Theater 3000. Gotta love those quirky shows! :)
There's a girl in my office, Amy, who is definitely quirky. A lot of others in the office don't get her. I just downloaded Cassastar (I'm behind, I know) and bumped it to the top of my list to read next. :)
I don't know Tonya but Siv and Minnie are fun and quirky!
I've never heard of Farscape. It sounds like fun.
Love Siv's postings and Minnie. Have not seen Farscape tho. For a time I volunteered helping out with Chihuahua rescue.
I'd be feeling more Q quirky if I wasn't feeling so T tired.
I work with someone who is quirky and she just makes my freakin' day every time I see her. Sometimes I think I might be, but I don't know...
Quirks are what make characters great in early seasons of TV series, and over-exploitation of quirks is what tanks those same series around the 4th or 5th season.
Ooh! I love farscape. What a great show!
I was already following Siv, but now I'm following Tonja. Quirky characters are fun too. Congrats about the review of CassaFire!
Farscape sounds interesting. Wonder if I can get it on Netflix? I don't bother with TV anymore. I'm tired of being sold toothpaste, vitamins and tennis shoes. :-)
Robyn, I'm sorry. Is there a foundation for that disorder?
Faraway, ran out of room.
Julie, that's funny!
Amy, MST3K rocked!
Michael, thanks.
Rick, you said it.
CLee, it is on NetFlix.
Thanks again for the great links. Farscape was awesome--and definitely quirky!
Yes, actually this is very funny.
I know both Siv & Tonja. And I simply adore Kittie & her story treasures! I've never heard of Farscape though. And of course, I'm an old(er) gal so I've known a lot of quirky people (Cassie came to mind rather quickly). But my brother-in-law is the hands-down quirkiest person I've ever met, as well as gentle soul.
that was a quirky show!
fave quirky movie is galaxy Quest,
have a ? day =)
Oh I loved Farscape. I think we have a lot in common as far as what we find entertaining on television.
'What other word could be used for a show where the main character’s brain is inhabited by his arch-enemy who inserts himself into all of John’s memories.'
Yipes.
Oh yes I know and love Siv's blog and Tonja's too. I've never heard of Farscape (I must live in a backward country because I sounds great)

I'm going to track down Farscape and watch it, Alex. My brain could use some quirky sci-fi.
I'm going to track down Farscape and watch it, Alex. My brain could use some quirky sci-fi.
Nancy, Cassie came to my mind right away.
Tara, Galaxy Quest rocked!
Michael then the ultimate question is - did you dig MST3K?
Suz, made for some great conflict.
Farscape is a great choice Alex. I can't think of a more off-beat science-ficiton television show except for the British "Life on Mars" or "Red Dawarf."Keep up the great links man!
@Yvonne Everyone should watch Farscape at least once.

Now following Siv and Tonja, Favorite Farscape character: Aeryn Sun (that show was definitely creatively quirky, although I didn't always like all the directions it went)
Causes near and dear to my heart - Project AK47 is a group that gets kids out of combat, and World Vision's Girls and Women Hope for Sexually Exploited Girls . . . helping girls out of human trafficking situations.
I've seen a bunch of posts on Quirky today.
Yes, Farscape was a quirky show, indeed. :D
I met Tonja last year at A to Z and she's wonderful! I recently met Siv at this year's challenge, and I'm glad I did! I agree that they're both quirky in a good way! Julie
The word quirky makes me giggle, not sure why, haha!
Someone mentioned Galaxy Quest and dude, that movie rocks!
So, quirky thing... I title all my emails cuz I don't like blank subject lines, but sometimes I have no idea what to say so I'll spout off something that'll get someone's attention. Well, the last email I sent was titled, "I need me some sex!" and I sent it to all my cps, and the email had nothing to do with the subject line, just me asking about our group blog.
Hubs pulled out the computer and my email was up. He looked at me and was like, um... shouldn't this email be going to me?
That wasn't too scary, right? ;)
Never heard of Farscape but I don't watch much TV.
I'm following Siv, since this blogfest, and Tonja for a while.
Quirky is usually interesting, and shows an active mind.
I'll be starting on CassaStar this weekend and will read CassaFire after that. I'll let you know when I review them both. Thanks for the stopover at my blog.
I'm pretty quirky and admire others who are too. So thanks for the referrals. I think I'm already following one or both, but I'll check.
And isn't it a weird, annoying blog quirk that when you are waiting on a really, really important follower to take you to a big number, that follower is slower to arrive than the others? Smiles. I'm sure the next time I visit, you'll be there.
xoRobyn
LOVE Farscape. Definitely a quirky show.
I rather liked Farscape, but I liked it even better when some of the cast moved over to Stargate.
Rick, you will enjoy it!
Maurice, thought about Tales From a Parallel Universe as well.
Tyrean, those are great causes.
Cassie, not scary, but definitely funny!!!
DG, thank you! I appreciate that.
Robyn, thanks. I just need ONE!
The SyFy actors all seem to move from show to show.
What a great idea listing other bloggers for the A-Z challenge! I recognize quite a few of them and you pinned them so well. Today's I'm not familiar with so off to visit them.
Also love your First Loves Blogfest idea! The great the things you discover on this A-Z adventure.
FARSCAPE was truly original. I just could not ever get past the puppets in it for some reason. Siv is a sweetheart. I wonder how she liked THOR the movie?
Great review!
I love the word quirky (and serendipity)...perhaps because I've been called quirky throughout my life and seem to be enveloped by serendipity.
Rhia from Five Minute Piece for Inspiration (about #776 on A to Z list).
I read Davids review, and it was really good!! That's so awesome!! I can't wait to read it :)
There are always such fun things going on here, Alex. I'm not the blog ninja you are, so I don't always have time to comment, but I had to comment on "Quirky" day:-) Love these.
Since quirky is one of my favorite things, I'm heading off to visit Siv and Tonya.
The Wounded Warrior Project is a great organization.
I love quirky. That's why I'm such a fan of the Muppets. =D
Quirky is like, endearingly weird... as eccentric is rather endearingly crazy...
I love Tonja's posts. And I haven't watched Farscape. Interesting! :)
Never seen Farscape and congrats to Kittie! Ah, I still have to read CassaFire. :)
i really liked farscape, although the ending got a bit weird (weirder).
mood
Loved Farscape! They definitely had quirkiness down, but they made it work...mostly. :)
I know Sic and Tonja. Have to laugh at Siv's pic. Always brings a smile and a chuckle.
And Congrats! to Kitty Howard and best wishes for Remy Broussard's Christmas!
I love Farscape! What a perfect choice for quirky. It's hard to pick one favorite character since I like each of them for their own reasons. I like Aeryn since she's like a heroine I'd write. Yet D'Argo and Chiana are my favorites. I also loved Moya. I wanted my own ship like that. I knew a guy who was obsesses with Zhaan/Virginia Hey. She'd come often to Gen Con and he'd be there the entire time, trying to watch her and following her. Virginia hasn't come back to Gen Con for a few years now!
After the "Cassie, this means YOU!) at the end of your post, I had to look for her comment... and it was pretty funny! Perhaps I should try something like that with my email subject lines!
PS - Sorry, never watched Farscape. Alien-looking creatures kinda scare me!
Off to meet two new bloggers. :)
What a picture! I need to visit that blog!
Far Scape, one of the most under-rated shows ever.
My guy is quirky, that is why I love him! :-) I love that word. I ordered Kittie's book yesterday. Just started following Siv and now off to visit Tonja!
Hi Margo! And welcome.
Roland, you'll have to ask.
Jess, hope you enjoy it!
Hey Anne! Good to hear from you.
Saumya, hope you enjoy it when you do.
Moody, at least they came back and did the Peacekeeper Wars movie.
Christine, almost sounds like stalking...
Rachel, I knew I needed a disclaimer for her.
Kelly, so true!
Tracy, I picked her book up Tuesday.
Following both!
I've never watched Farscape--but the MC's archenemy ends up in his mind? Wow. I have no idea how that would work, but it's an interesting idea.
The Golden Eagle
The Eagle's Aerial Perspective
Cassie, you crack me up, completely! So funny!!!!
Quirky, oh gosh, I have so many I don't know where to begin!
One that people find most funny is when I enter a public bathroom, I immediately grab paper towels, I don't touch anything on the way into the stall, no doors, walls, knobs, or locks. Uh uh, not happening. Someone walked out of that stall not clean, right?? I'm not touching their door lock! Okay, that's one of my most quirkiest. Public bathrooms with automatic paper towel dispensers ROCK! I've walked out of many in my day.
I AM following both, but I haven't seen Farscape, and if it is what comes to mind when you think quirky, I will have to check it out!
Congrats on the review, Alex! Your shout-out helped. Thanks! ! Yep, CLNC three times (we're East Coast save for two tours at K-Bay); love CLNC. Have a house in a nearby county. Wish aliens could swoop down in their spaceship and get hub and I out of Northern Virginia.
Will be following Siv and Tonja soon, and I've never heard of Farscape till now! Awful, right? But now I know and can check it out!
I've run across quite a few quirky blogs during this Challenge.

Do I know anyone quirky? Me, of course. And my boyfriend, naturally.
If there is a space ship landing in Northern Va to get Kittie and her hub, perhaps it could land near Richmond to get me and my cat to bring us to IL, where he (said boyfriend) lives.
I follow Siv and Tonja, great blogs and quirky is a good word for them! Congrats on the great review for CassaFire, well deserved. :)
I haven't seen farscape but think I should.
Teresa
I loved farscape when I was a kid - the blue woman especially... can't remember her name.
I love people who have a bit of quirk to them - there's a guy in our town who always wears period clothes - he looks like Darcy all the time - he's fab, and definitely quirky
Lx
Golden, it makes for great conflict.
Candy, hey most don't even wash their hands afterwards! I'm with you.
Kittie, you're welcome.
Alex, that' sad you're apart.
I'd forgotten all about Farscape. I don't remember many details, but I do remember fun!! :)
Quirky appeals to me more than anything. I somehow always missed Farscape, though it looked interesting.
I love that Kittie is helping the Wounded Warrior Foundation. I'll definitely have to check that out. :)
As for causes near and dear to my own heart, I'd say World Vision and the American Red Cross. Oh, and the American Cancer Society: Relay for Life. Hmm... the American Heart Association, too. I should probably stop there. There's a lot near and dear to my heart! :)
I have heard of Farscape but really don't know anything about it. My wife might. Got behind in my reading and commenting so I wanted to stop by and Hi...off to visit more A-Z'ers
I think I've seen Farscape but quite some time ago. Who do I know is Quirky? I think everyone has some kind of a quirk. If they don't, they should:)
Thanks for introducing me to more great blogs! My "Q" for today had quirky in it, too. Blog on!
I like Quirky. It's one of my favorite words. I admire your dedication and contributions to the A-Z. I could never do it.
Never watched Farscape. I enjoy visiting Tonja. My favorite cause it the Four Diamonds Fund. It pays all medical costs for children battling cancer at the Hershey Medical Center in PA.
I loved Farscape. My fave character was Aeryn Sun, of course. :)
I love quirky people. I have some very dear friends who could best be described as quirky. And I have some quirky habits myself.
Marta, they should!
Susan, that sounds wonderful.
I love the word Quirky but almost NEVER use it in writing. I wonder why. Maybe it's too close to home.
Damn Charles stole line. I was going to say I love the word quirky. Lol
Quirky scfy is always intriguing!
And a ninja I know is too
; )
Farscape sounds familiar to me...hmm?
Your review of some quirky people makes me want to visit them. I think I shall!
Have a great weekend.

Wow! Great post. I will have to look into getting these books. Thanks for sharing.
Lots of good stuff here Alex. I love what Kittie is doing.
Denise
I haven't seen Farscape, but it sounds interesting.
I enjoy quirkiness.
Oh, Farscape! I have always plan to watch the whole series, because I have only seen just some episodes about it.
lol, yes I think of Farscape as quirky too (that's not necessarily a good thing)
I like quirky! Off to follow Siv and Tonja!
J.C. Martin
A to Z Blogger
I've followed Siv for a while and her blog is the best kind of quirk.
You don't mean 'fire escape' do you?
I just bought Kittie's book. My son in law is a wounded warrior amputee. It is such a worthy project!
Thanks for all the links Alex!
Siv is great fun, but I don't know Tonja (I think? lol). I'll head over!
How did I miss Farscape? It sounds quirk-tastic. Thanks for illuminating a new treat.
Thanks for the shout-out, Alex! I'll do it all over again when your next one comes out. :)
