A to Z Challenge - Memento, Meant to Live, Ninja News, and the Big Surprise!

My theme for the A to Z Challenge is Favorite Movies, Bloggers, and Music! I’ll name a favorite movie that corresponds with the letter, and then select a character from the film. I will then name a favorite blogger who reminds me of that character, and then dedicate a song to him. (Also corresponding with the alphabet.) I’ll wrap it all up with trivia and/or fun facts about the movie, the blogger, or the music!

In addition, two lucky commenters this month will receive a review copy of CassaStorm! One comment per day and each is worth one entry except – the first and one hundredth comments on each day will receive ten entries!

Memento

Nolan’s greatest masterpiece. The story is told backwards, which makes you think as every new scene unfolds. You do not leave your brain at the door for this one! Guy Pearce is exceptional as the man with memory issues searching for his wife’s killer. This film is the ultimate mind bend.

Leonard Shelby is focused on his goal. He might forget things, but never his ultimate target. Since every moment is new to him, Leonard possesses a child-like innocence.

Her goal was published author and she never wavered on that path, achieving it this past February. Charity also possesses that innocence, and it comes through in her smile and her Faith. Her passions shine, no matter what she is doing.

The Best and Worst Remakes Blogfest – May 17

That’s right – another fun and easy movie blogfest! Something simple after the insanity of the Challenge and my last one until the fall.

When Hollywood runs out of ideas, they remake older films. Sometimes this works, and sometimes it fails miserably.

On May 17, list the best remake you’ve ever seen and the worst.

She is bold. Not brash, just bold in her thoughts and convictions. You never know what to expect, but you can bet it will be real. She’s involved in the community and very supportive. She knows what’s going on in the blogging world, sometimes more than I do! Huntress isn’t shy and I can always count on her honesty. I’m blessed she’s one of my blogger buddies!

The sheer audacity to tell a story that starts at the end and spools to the beginning is one bold move. Christopher Nolan pulls it off with a movie that expects you to keep up and pay attention. Bring out your big brain for this one.

Jerry Cantrell - Degradation Trip

I really feel that anyone interested in the music biz should check this out. This incredibly personal collection of music deals with drug abuse, troubled relationships and the hedonistic excesses of stardom. Never whiny, this disc hits hard through twenty-seven tracks and shows Cantrell writing his best work since Alice In Chains early days.

Ninja News!

Kela posted about Awesome Authors yesterday – and I was stunned when she selected ME! Thank you so much, Kela. I am so honored.

Rusty posted yesterday that there is a 500 point reward for getting me to comment on a certain blog. There’s a bounty on my comment – too funny!

And this is a reality check! On a normal day that I post, I visit 100-140 of my blogger buddies, plus other movie blogs and such. Add all of the comments from A to Z participants and the section of the A to Z list that is my responsibility and that adds about forty to sixty more blogs. In truth, I can’t visit everyone. I wish I had clones. (Really, Cassie, I don’t!!!) So if you don’t see me, please don’t feel slighted. This Ninja is really trying…
