Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D! Plus October Movie Preview, Ninja News, Christy Dorrity’s The Awakening, and a Farscape Character That Nearly Bit the Dust

I am flying high today and set for Cruising Altitude 2.0! That’s right, I am visiting DL Hammons today, the mastermind behind Write Club and the Blog Blitz. I’m talking about the Pros and Cons of Writing a Book Series, so check it out.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

For those of you who missed it, the season premier was awesome! Directed by Joss Whedon himself, it had everything you enjoyed about the Avengers. Entertainment Weekly has already viewed the next few episodes, and while not directed by Whedon, they are just as good.

The show’s strong point is its humor and more shows could learn from its example. S.H.I.E.L.D. proved you could have drama and action AND humor. It’s the perfect balance. Shows like Stargate Universe fail because they are too damn depressing. A little humor and hope goes a long way.

Yes, I am hooked and can’t wait until next week’s show!

The Final Word…

Blastr listed eleven TV characters who were going to die until fans fell in love with them. One of them was Chiana from Farscape. She was only to last a couple episodes, but fans and the writers liked her quirkiness and she stuck around for the entire series. (Did I mention she was also sexy?)

Did you watch S.H.I.E.L.D? See some good books to pick up? Ready for the IWSG next month? Any of the October movies excite you? And what if Chiana hadn’t survived…?

Be sure to visit DL at Cruising Altitude 2.0!

QUIRKY - A to Z Challenge

It’s the third A to Z Challenge! Blog the letters of the alphabet in order every day except Sundays The participation list is HERE – start with the blog after yours and visit at least five blogs a day. Mostly, make new friends and have fun!

My theme – I have selected a word for each day and will present to you blogger buddies who fit that description, along with movies, music, etc. My theme is to give back, highlight some awesome bloggers, and have fun in the process.

QUIRKY

Siv at Been There Done That
Siv is one of those spirits who feels so free. She’s passionate about her kids and her country. She knows more about Norse mythology than anyone I know. And just when you think you understand, along comes Minnie! Siv and Minnie have gibberish down to a science and they always invite us to join the madness. Quirky or not, I just adore Siv and hope she stays with us for a very long time.

Tonja at Tonja’s Musings
Perhaps quirky isn’t the right word for Tonja. And yet, I never know what to expect when visiting her blog. She could be having a good day, a bad day, or a weird day. Despite her mood for the day, I always feel a connection with Tonja. If she ever stopped blogging, it would be a very sad day indeed.

Farscape
When I think of the word quirky, this show always pops into my brain. Farscape deals with a group of aliens who have escaped the corrupt intergalactic authority known as the Peacekeepers aboard a living ship named Moya. They are joined by American astronaut John Crichton who has been flung through a wormhole while testing an experimental aircraft for NASA. What other word could be used for a show where the main character’s brain is inhabited by his arch-enemy who inserts himself into all of John’s memories. Yup….Quirky!

NINJA NEWS!

Kittie Howard’s book "Remy Broussard's Christmas," is available on Amazon with every penny's commission going to the Wounded Warrior Foundation. It’s a great cause and her book is only 99 cents!

David Powers King posted a review of CassaFire – and it was good! All you fans who wanted a romantic interest – well, you got one! Now go enjoy.

Following Siv and Tonja? Ever watch Farscape? (And if you did, who was your favorite character?) Any causes near and dear to your heart like Kitties’s? And quirky! Come on people – who do you know who is quirky? Or would you like to share something quirky? Try not to scare anyone… (Cassie, this means YOU!)

Fallout and Farscape

Continuing the A-Z Challenge from Arlee at Tossing it Out - today is F, and I have selected Fallout and Farscape.

Fallout New Vegas

I'm an avid gamer, especially RPG, although I try not to spend hours in front of my computer. Since the next Starcraft game may never see the light of day, I've set my sights on Fallout New Vegas instead. It's slated for a fall 2010 release for Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Fallout is an amazing game that combines a first-person shooter with an RPG. Two of my all time favorite gaming moments happened in Fallout. But that's a blog for another time. It's not yet rated, but I'm sure it will be an "M" for mature. Visit the official site HERE

Farscape

Remember Farscape? Unlike Firefly, this series actually survived several seasons and spawned a couple mini-movies. I've been watching Farscape on NetFlix and now recall why I enjoyed this quirky, colorful series. Ben Browder and Claudia Black (both of whom went on to do later episodes of SG1) are great, as is the cast of eccentric characters. The Jim Henson Company was responsible for many of the characters and still have Farscape on the company website. I'm also amazed how many fan sites exist on the web, such as Watch Farscape Even though half the characters are dead, I wonder if it's too late to do another movie...?

Are you a Farscape fan? Fallout fan? Are you just hanging around hoping I will post another photo of Kate Beckinsale?
