Top Ten Murder Movies, IWSG and the Pandemic, Monday’s Music Moves Me, and Movie and Book News

My Top Ten List of Murder Movies By Yolanda Renee

1. A Perfect Murder (1998) Director Andrew Davis - Michael Douglas, Gwyneth Paltrow
A wealthy man, Michael Douglas, discovers that his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, has a lover. He blackmails the lover, Viggo Mortensen, into murdering his wife.
Turns out not to be so perfect after all. Great high tension-ending.

2. Seven (1995) Director David Fincher - Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman.
A rookie detective, Brad Pitt, and a veteran detective, Morgan Freeman, hunt a serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as his motive.
Shocking end!

3 The Silence of the Lambs (1991) Director Jonathan Demme - Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins
A young FBI cadet, Jodie Foster, is sent to meet with a serial killer, a real madman, Anthony Hopkins, to help solve another case.
The quid pro quo is excellent!

4. Psycho (1960) Director Alfred Hitchcock - Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh
A remote motel. A young man, under the influence of his domineering mother. A woman just looking for a night's rest.
Talk about the wrong place at the wrong time. Excellent scare factor.

5. Body Heat (1981) Director Lawrence Kasdan - William Hurt, Kathleen Turner
The wife of a wealthy man, Kathleen Turner, manipulates William Hurt into killing her husband. The heat in this one is extreme.
But a magnificent twist means another great ending!

6. Rear Window (1954) Director Alfred Hitchcock - James Stewart, Grace Kelly
Wheelchair-bound and bored, Jimmy Stewart begins to spy on his neighbors. After a while, he's sure that one man has killed his wife. High tension as he sends his girlfriend to investigate because he can't! Hitchcock at his best.

7. Vertigo (1958) Director Alfred Hitchcock - James Stewart, Kim Novak
Jimmy Stewart, a former police detective, suffers from a fear of heights. When a woman kills herself by jumping from a bell tower, her death, due to his inaction, haunts him. When he meets her look-a-like, his sleuthing skills re-emerge.
The ending is supreme.

8. Dark Passage (1947) Director Delmer Daves-- Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall
A man escapes prison, changes his looks, and goes after the man who killed his wife and framed him.
I enjoyed the way this was done, and those two together, nothing better!

9. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) Director David Fincher - Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara
A journalist, Daniel Craig, is hired to find a woman who disappeared forty years ago. He enlists the aid of a young computer hacker, Rooney Mara, to help him.
This is one tangled web of awesomeness!

10. Laura (1944) Director Otto Preminger - Gene Tierney, Dana Andrews
This movie is my all-time favorite. The police detective, Dana Andrews, falls in love with a woman, Gene Tierney, via her portrait while he's investigating her murder.
The way the romance was weaved through the story got to me!

Thank you, Alex, for hosting me and my latest book and allowing me to discuss my favorite murder movies.

It was a matter of beginner’s luck, but rookie detective Steven Quaid’s career and reputation as an elite investigator skyrocketed when he captured one of the most sadistic serial killers in Alaskan history: Stowy Jenkins, AKA the Snowman. But that was ten years ago.
And now…Jenkins is back.

At one time Alaska called to me, and I answered. I learned to sleep under the midnight sun, survive in below zero temperatures, and hike the Mountain Ranges. I’ve traveled from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez, and the memories are some of my most valued. The wonders, mysteries and incredible beauty that is Alaska has never left me and thus now influences my writing. Despite my adventurous spirit, I achieved my educational goals, married, and I have two handsome sons. Writing is now my focus, my newest adventure!

IWSG

IWSG post day was very moving as most of the participants answered the monthly question with how they were doing during our world crisis.

Some have already gone through the virus - Sherry Ellis’ family all had it and recovered.

Some are in a bad situation - Lynn and her husband are trapped on their boat in Mexico and while they are both high risk, they can’t get tested.

Some have found something uplifting – Louise posted a short video by Chris Hadfield, a retired Canadian astronaut, and his view on how to handle isolation.

I think my favorite was by Em-Musing. She said she was doing what was necessary, but what wasn’t necessary was thinking the worst and getting scared. She’s lived through the polio outbreak, the Cuban Missile Crisis (and missiles set to fire at Cuba were just a couple miles from her home), having her first child during the Hong Kong Flu and no one could visit her at the hospital, and all the other viruses and scares. So while she is concerned, she refuses to be scared!

What was the most moving post you read that day?

Monday’s Music Moves Me

Hosted by Xmas Dolly.

Today it’s songs with the word fool in them.

I’m going with the first thing that popped into my head – Fool for Your Loving by Whitesnake!

Tales From the Loop
This is a new show on Amazon Prime.
Every episode revolves around an underground facility called The Loop and those who work there and live above it. It also covers several different time periods, as The Loop has been around for quite a while.
The first episode moved glacierly slow, but fortunately it was really interesting.
The cinematography was amazing. Really well done.
Based on the paintings of Simon Stålenhag.
I’ll keep watching!

The next season of What We Do in the Shadows starts this month!

From the IMDB -
A look into the daily (or rather, nightly) lives of three vampires, who've lived together for over 100 years, on Staten Island.

This series is hilarious!! If you haven’t checked it out, you need to.
This FX show also streams on Hulu

  1. And not one of those movies have I seen.
    Slinking away.

  2. Hank was fascinated with Hitchcock's and seen all the 3 listed, ie Psycho.Rear Window and Vertigo. They made sitting on edge a common occurrence.

  3. Seven. What a great film that is!

  4. Hi, Alex & Yolanda!

I love murder mystery movies and have seen 8 out of the top 10 listed. Gwyneth Paltrod and Michael Douglas are favorites of mine, and A Perfect Murder, a modern remake of Hitchcock's 1954 film Dial M for Murder, is deliciously wicked.

Yolanda, it's fascinating how Alaska informs your writing and provides a backdrop for Murder, Just Because, a captivating story, I'm sure.

Whenever I think of Whitesnake my mind immediately skips to actress/model Tawny Kitaen. Married for a brief time to Coverdale, Tawny appeared in several of Whitesnakes's iconic 80s videos. The slinky vixen turns age 59 a few months from now.

Have a good day and stay well, Alex and Yolanda!

  5. I've seen 9 of those great movies. :) Congratulations, Yolanda!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I've seen 9 out of 10 of those movies.

Em-musng sure has the right idea indeed.

Still haven't watched What We Do in the Shadows. May have to give that a go since my to be watched list is now like zero lol

  7. Hi Alex and Renee - I have not seen those films - they'd scare the bejangles out of me! Anything too gory - I'm off ... but I will definitely read your book sometime ... as I'd love to know more about Alaska. Just thinking of everyone who is coping through this time ... all the best - Hilary

    ReplyDelete
  8. All great films - I love Body Heat...Kathleen Turner says, "You're not too bright are you? I like that in a man." Oh, William Hurt was in trouble from the get go.

I"ll add Double Indemnity to the list. Barbara Stanwyck knew how to play Fred McMurray. Tough broad.

    Happy Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I've seen 4 of those movies, but could probably watch them all. It's remembering they're out there when I'm looking for a new movie to watch, that's my problem! I love thrillers.
Congrats to all you authors with new releases! Good luck out there.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I've only seen 3 of the movies. I guess I'm just not a murder-mystery movie person.

    I liked Em-Musing's response, too.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Congrats to Yolanda and her new release. I have seen all of those movies, except for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I still remember walking out of the theater after seeing Silence of the Lambs a bit shaky, it disturbed me greatly.
I just started watching Tales from the Loop last night. The first episode was as you say, Alex, but intriguing. I will also continue to watch...

    ReplyDelete
  12. Now I want to go binge watch or binge re-watch some of those movies!

I really enjoyed the IWSG posts. Such a wonderful group! :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. I've seen 8 of the movies and now I want to see the others. Alex, thanks so much for being a part of Yolanda's tour and sharing her fascinating book.

Congrats to everyone with new releases and I agree with others, Em-Musing has a great way of looking at this crazy world we're living in at the moment.

  14. Hi Alex, Hi Yolanda,
I saw Vertigo and have to admit, it took me weeks before I completely suppressed it. The others I did not see. I do remember the promotion for The Silence of the Lamb with Anthony Hopkins and said immediately that film was not for me.
I can see this series with Stowe and Detective Quaid turning into a film. I wish that for you, Yolanda.
All the best with your tour.
    Shalom aleichem,
    Pat Garcia

  15. Alex, thanks again for hosting me and my book on your blog. It’s getting considerable attention, but it feels a little odd to be pushing it during such an uncertain time. Still, we do have to keep moving forward despite the news. Em-musing is right, but your fears elsewhere.

Sue, don’t slink, that’s okay. I loved the time I had no TV to waste my time. But now it’s become something of a comfort. And the old black and whites are my favorites!

Kaykuala, love Hitchcock! His movies and his short stories, nothing better. He’s a bit of a character, but he had a great imagination!

Ray, Seven, is one of the spookier ones. Very intriguing.

Shady, I’d forgotten that, yes, Dial m for Murder another favorite! I’m not sure why Alaska inspires me so, but it does. So I go with it. 😊

Elizabeth, Thanks a million for also hosting my tour!

Pat, then there’s something new for you!

Hilary, nothing really gory here, except maybe Seven and The Dragon Tattoo. I do hope you get to read MJB. If you’re really interested, I can send a copy without the worst scenes in it! Just let me know.

Joanne, I’d forgotten Double Indemnity, it’s another great one. Barbara Stanwyck has done several wonderful mysteries.

Stacy, you have some catching up to do. Thrillers are the best.

    L. Diane, no, I don’t think you are a mystery person, but that’s okay, everyone has there own cup of tea.

Cathrina, Silence of the Lambs was a great scare.

Madeline, I hope you get the chance, it’ll take your mind off the current situation.

Mason, thanks again for hosting the tour, it’s been a blast and continues to be.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Pat, thank you, I would be thrilled, but I doubt it garners that kind of attention. It's a great dream though, for any author!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Like Elephant's Child, I haven't seen a single one of those movies! I'm SUCH a wimp about horror movies. Give me SciFi any day :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Silence of the Lambs and Copycat come to mind right away when I think of murder movies. It was great to read the list!

That Whitesnake song brought me right back. :)

    Stay well!
    ~Jess

    ReplyDelete
  19. I've been eyeing The loop. You've convinced me! Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. The Silence of the Lambs is a special movie. Every performance is incredible. Hopkins deserves his praise, but the whole ensemble is brilliant.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Jemi, you've got a lot of catching up to do too! :)

DMS, Both great movies, I hope you look at a few more of these. you won't be disappointed.

Mshatch, I think I may have to also!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I also highly recommend the book version of Silence of the Lambs. It's a page-turner. So is Harris's other Hannibal novel Red Dragon, which they made a movie out of called Man Hunter.

Lynn and her husband live up the road from me on their boat. They're both very resilient. But it doesn't hurt to send them good thoughts.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I was happily surprised at how many people wrote uplifting g stories and refuse to be panicked. Right now I am concerned about my hubby’s niece who is a nurse because she is experiencing the symptoms. She is getting tested and should find out soon. The movies chosen are all excellent and loving her choices. I would choose all of these but I would include Leave Her To Heaven where the beautiful Gene Tierney will stop at nothing to keep her man. It really is a horrific scene that grabs you even today...I won’t tell you more and, remember it is from 1947(8) so it is ok but still... you stay safe.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Shady, fifty-nine! Yes, I remember her appearance in those videos very well.

    Pat, watch it! It's hilarious.

Cathrina, it was good. I need to watch the others.

    Mason, my pleasure!

Yolanda, you're welcome. We do need to press forward.

    Marcy, enjoy it!

Joylene, Manhunter was an excellent rendition of that book.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love the classic gangster movies from the Thirties and Forties, though I don't think they'd be considered murder movies. They're more about many murders being committed as a matter of course, not one murder or murderer taking canter stage in a crime story.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm curious about the Loop series. Don't know if I'll watch it, but I'm curious.
I did binge season two of 'The Tick' yesterday while working on a project.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Engaging post! I've only seen six out of the ten movies. I enjoyed the White Snake video. We've been watching Ozark, and I will watch No Country for Old Men again because I'm that incredulous ;-)
    Sunnyside up, everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I love a good horror movie, but unfortunately my family does not share my taste in movies. Great song!

    ReplyDelete
  29. That's a great list of murder movies. "The Perfect Murder" is an excellent pick. Two other old movies that aren't vintage film in this category to consider are "Double Jeopardy" with Ashley Judd and "Deceived' with Goldie Hawn, both are excellent and I highly recommended them if you haven't them already.

Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor with this week's 'Fool' song title theme. Have a boogietastic week and stay healthy, my friend!

Cathy's Pinup Girl #AtoZChallenge Art Sketch Series 'K' hits the 4M dance floor

  30. Joylene, I agree the books are always better. Thanks for the recommendation.

Birget, I think I remember that one, Gene Tierney was masterful! Such a unique twist on obsession. She had her man but it wasn’t enough!
Patricia, everyone has a different genre they love, that’s what makes the world go round.

Carrie--Anne, I’ve never been a fan of gangster movies. Never watched any of the godfather movies. Funny how murder in the matter of course, doesn’t interest me at all. LOL

Andrew, It’s a series or two that I know nothing about. Enjoy!

Diedre, No country for Old Men was intriguing.

Catch My Words, I don’t normally care for horror either, but a good murder mystery is a must!

Cathy, Double Jeopardy, and Deceived are both great choices. So many to choose from, thanks for recommending these!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I've seen some of these movies, but not A Perfect Murder, which sounds great. I'll try to find it.

I enjoyed reading everyone's posts last week. That was a great question.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Like some others, I haven't seen any of those movies (though at least heard of most of them). I recently saw and enjoyed "Knives Out" (once I'd got over Daniel Craig's forced accent). The concept and plot twists were breathtaking.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Congrats Yolanda! Wishing everyone safety and recovery. Those IWSG were beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Three Alfred Hitchcock movies and one based on an Alfred Hitchcock movie! I definitely agree with this list!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Natalie, It really surprised me. You’ll enjoy it!

Hi, Botanist, I’m looking forward to seeing that one!

Juneta, Thanks! Ditto on the recovery!

    J E Oneil, I love Hitchcock! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  36. Andrew, it's easy to binge, isn't it?

Ian, told you that was a great film!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've heard lots of good things about Shadows, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm sure I'll get there eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Cool movie list - I've seen most. Silence of the Lambs is still gripping to this day.

I've been getting through quarantine by keeping my nose to the grindstone on editing my upcoming book. That and by avoiding worry by concentrating on what I can control and not on what I can't.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Would you believe I've never watched any of those movies? Horror/murder movies do not make me happy. I avoid them at all costs. :)

I'm so sorry Lynn is stuck on a boat during this pandemic. Hopefully, they'll get off soon and remain healthy!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I've seen eight of the movies listed by the awesome Yolanda Renée, including some of my favourite Hitchcock films. Rear Window has to be a favourite murder mystery for me, and I'd add some of the best Agatha Christie adaptations, especially Murder on the Orient Express (1974 version perhaps). I'm also a fan of Name of the Rose - Sean Connery in that and MotOE not a coincidence.

As for Covid-19 and IWSG, I wasn't in a good state of mind when that day dawned - the idiots had taken over the asylum it seemed. Bright side today though.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Liz, Shadows does sound intriguing.

Steven, Silence of the Lambs is most definitely still gripping. One of those movies they can’t even consider making a remake of. Oh, there I’ve said it… 😊

Sherry, it’s okay, there are genres I find hard to deal with. 😊

Roland, Hitchcock is the star, I loved the 1974 version, compared to the latest one to come out. We saw it the other day and found it almost boring.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Seven freaked me out in the theater years ago - a little more gruesome than I usually like.
I really liked the Hitchcock films, and Silence of the Lambs is great for dialogue.
Congratulations on the new releases everyone and thanks for the reviews, Alex!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Whoa! White Snake, totally rad. Great pickins! Thanks for joining us today Alex. Now we get the frosting on the cake by coming over here with all your reviews. Totally put together Alex! How you can do all this is totally beyond me. You have the gift that's about all I can say. Have a great day and Stay healthy, stay safe and STAY HOME!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I've only seen two of those movies, but then, I guess I'm not a murder mystery movie fan (only book form). Hope all is going well!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi, Alex! I really enjoyed Yolanda's list of movies, of which I've seen six. Now I'll have to look for the others. I wish her lots of luck with her book! I was so surprised to see me mentioned in your post. Thanks for the kind words. All the best to you!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Great job, Alex. White Snake is a favorite of my hubby's for sure. Guess I really love a different era, but I like White Snake too. Guess it just depends what I'm in the mood for. Well, gettin' rather later over here. it's been a long day. Stay healthy and stay safe, but most important STAY HOME! hugs and don't forget the hands - at least 20 seconds!!! Get to know your family's ins & outs believe me you'll like yourself better for it. Have a great rockin' week my friend! hugs

    ReplyDelete
  47. Congrats Yolanda. I've seen most of those movies. Really loved Seven.

Yes, a lot of heartbreaking and moving posts on Corona. Sad days. Hope we all get back to normal soon.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Good luck with the new book Yolanda. I found Stowy McQuaid so frightening in your previous books. I have seen most of those movies much to my surprise. I don't see a lot of movies but do catch up occasionally on TV.

Hope all of you are doing OK - recommend you go see the Chris Hadfield video it is good advice.

    ReplyDelete
  49. So much excitement with new books and tours. I'm enjoying every minute. I bought the book because I had to read it. Thanks for some great posts.

    ReplyDelete
  50. We were a great fan of all the Hitchcock movies. Great list! Oh, we loved Whitesnake, especially because Granny knew the Dutch guitar player of her youth :D Thank you for the mewsic😺Clean Pawkisses for a Happy Tuesday. Stay Safe Healthy and Yourselfie🙏🐾😽💞

  51. Rear Window and Vertigo are classics. Love your cover. Wishing you many sales.
    Congrats to JL and Charles.
    'Lo Alex.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hey Alex! I never heard of Tales from the Loop but right now, we have zero TV/Movie streaming. We ditched Prime, Hulu and Netflix. That is, until Stranger Things come back, then I'm likely to get it for a month.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi Alex,

I have seen seven of the movies. I watched a suspenseful murder mystery over the weekend. "What Lies Beneath" with Harrison Ford. Have you seen this movie?

Congrats to Yolanda on her release. The cover is eye-catching.

Ship of Fools by Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band came to mind for me.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Tyrean, I saw Seven on television, so I’m sure most of the gore was taken out. But Hitchcock and Silence, wow!

XmasDolly, I agree, Alex has it all together.

T Drecker, all these movies have been on TV, but you’re right, not a fan of murder isn’t all that unusual.

Fundy Blue, It’s a great list. And all are on TV frequently.

Donna, thanks. Getting through is the goal, but I think it’s going to be a long haul.

Jo, TV is where I see most of my movies. We just Black Panther the other day. Thanks!

Hi, Beverly. Thank you! Happy Reading!

Little Binky & Granny, Hitchcock is the tops!

    Sandra, Thanks, they are classics!

Ivy, we don’t stream either, but that’s okay. Time is precious.

  55. I share many of Yolanda's favorite murder movies. So many are classics. Who could ever forget Psycho? Or Rear Window? Great. I wish Yolanda well with her new murder mystery. And yes, Covid-19 stories veered between terrifying to uplifting. There'll be plenty more before this is over.
Hope you and your wife are doing well, Alex.

    ReplyDelete
  56. A Perfect Murder.... what a great movie. Silence of the Lambs... second to none in my humble opinion. Hauting music, memorable scenes, excellent cast, too.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oh yeah, White Snake. Played a lot here it's one of my hubby's favorites. Great tune posted here my friend. Dude, thank you for playin' along with us & if you like and anyone asks if they could play along with us feel free to tell them yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss hMMMMM I think I just did! hahahahaha Sorry. Great job on your Post today. How the heck did you get so smart anyway? So, question do you happen to know a place I can move my blog too that's not expensive? I thought of moving it back to blogspot.com I heard it's still free. I use to be there when I first started then I went to these girlfriends of mine & the three of us were doing it together it like cost me ten bucks a year, but now they're moving so I'm out again. :( Don't know much about this. Any suggetions? Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I have to say, "Seven" really freaked me out! I don't think I would want to watch that movie again! But, I have to admit, I think it was very well acted! Congrats to Yolanda! Love the cover! Stay safe!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Roland, glad you're doing better.

    Thanks, Maria!

    Hello, Sandra!

Ivy, you can't miss the next season of Stranger Things.

Maria, yes, Blogspot is free and so is basic Wordpress. They are the only ones I know of.

  60. My wife and I watch a lot of murder movies including all of the film on Yolanda's list. I've been wanting to see Dark Passage again since we recently watched a more recent film with Lauren Bacall and my wife wanted to remember what she was like when she was younger.

I'm getting bored with the Covid hysteria. But in this era we've got a lot of things that people become hysterical about. Personally, I put my trust in Jesus and don't worry about these earthly issues. I can think of far worse things happening to me than what the left believes will happen to us.

  62. Seven and Silence of the Lambs are two of my favorite movies.

  63. Rear Window is excellent. You can't go wrong with Hitchcock. Well, you can go murderously wrong. He does it very well.

    Take good care, Alex.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think of myself as someone who likes to be entertained and laugh when I watch movies, therefore, I was quite surprised to read your list, as I have seen 8 of them, and enjoyed most of the ones I saw, although Seven and Silence of the Lambs were just a bit too disturbing for my taste. Great list. I can't think of any others that would be better than these.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Congratulations to Yolanda!
Do you know, I *still* haven't seen Vertigo!
    Thanks so much for sharing the stories from other IWSG Day posters {{hugs}} to everyone {{}}

  66. Congrats to Yolanda on her new book! Love the Hitchcock movies. The first song that came to mind was What a Fool Believes by the Doobie Brothers. Hope you're having a good week!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Looks like I'll have to give In Tales From The Loop a try. I'm watching The Feed right now and despite poor reviews, I'm finding it quite interesting. I hope they have another season because they can do so much more with it.

Yolanda has some great movie picks! I love Psycho too. My dad gave me Laura right before he passed away and I have yet to watch it. One of these days.

    Stay healthy and safe,
    Elsie

  68. For some reason my comments don't work on my blog, but I'll be moving soon so I'll fix it then I'll let you know when. I watched Victor Mature last night too in that B.C. moving. It was really good. It was like watching a movie in another language, but they were really good making up words and showing emotion with their face/bodies. Dam sure am glad I didn't live then. hahahaha Hope everything is still okay with you my friend. Have a nice weekend with your family. I truly hope people take advantage of this time to get to know their children and spouses. I pray for all my friends every night and rest assured my friend you & yours are in my prayers. Be safe!

  69. Yolanda has great taste in murder movies. Thanks for the update about Sherry and Lynn. I'm so happy Sherry's family has recovered. How terrifying for Lynn. I haven't heard about anyone getting infected among the participants in my blog hop yet, but there are folks on the front lines, and I'm worried. Stay safe.

  70. I've seen all of the listed Hitchcock movies and also Silence of the Lambs (which was excellent) but this is a genre I actually don't get into all that much. I do like Whitesnake, though. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  71. I've seen some of those movies. I still have nightmares from Psycho and the Alfred Hitchcock movies. Silence of the Lambs was terrifying. Love Jodie Foster. I need to see the Michael Douglas one. I must be a glutton for nightmares or something. Great post. All best to you!

  78. Great song choice, Alex :-)

As for the movies, "Silence of the Lambs" and the sequel "Red Dragon" are on my list of great murder movies. "The Mentalist" is my favourite murder series.

  80. I'm more of an action, comedy and romance movie person so don't really have a favorite murder movie. Though I have seen Silence of the Lambs, Psycho and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

  81. I don't know how I missed this great post. I've never seen the Daniel Craig version of Girl with the Dragon Tatoo but the original was really good. I hope Yolanda's tour has been a success. I haven't started Tales from the Loop yet, but it's up next after Locke & Key.
