Geek Television Programs, Favorite Fantasy Romance Movies, What Are the Kargrandes? Small Press Pros and Cons, and Ninja News

What happens when the Ninja is overwhelmed with trying to write guest posts for his tour, prepare A to Z Challenge posts, and juggle several sites at once? He double books himself!

Today I have not one, but two awesome authors here to amuse you!

SAME GEEK TIME, SAME GEEK CHANNEL

I could name dozens of television shows that geeks love to watch. Goodness knows I've stared at the screen for hundreds of hours in the past year, I mean, in my life. Yes... What's trickier is picking out great shows starring geeks.

I'm adding a level of difficulty to this quest: I'm going to give you a type of show and the obvious nerd answer. Then I'm going to give you a show that you might not know about.

Documentary:
Obvious answer - Cosmos hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson. Who doesn't love Neil? He's the laid-back astro-nerd in a ship of the imagination.
Not so obvious answer – Globe Trekker hosted by Ian Wright. There have been other travelers on this show, but Ian is my favorite. Goofy, geeky, and hilarious, he travels to various places in the world where you get a peek at things other shows usually don't show.

Reality Show:
Obvious answer - King of the Nerds hosted by Lewis and Booger from Revenge of the Nerds. It's like Survivor for geeks, but with more video games and cosplay.
Not so obvious answer – Face Off. Artistic geeks creating awesome makeup for monsters, aliens, or whatever might be that week's theme. These are super talented nerds in their element.

Sitcom:
Obvious answer – The Big Bang Theory. This is probably where everyone's mind went when I mentioned TV and nerds. No explanation necessary.
Not so obvious answer – Community. It's by far geekier than the obvious answer. Oh yes! Watch it and compare. And it stars Joel McHale, a geek whom I loved since he hosted The Soup.

What are your favorite shows starring geeks?

About the author: Christine Rains is a writer, blogger, and geek mom. She's a member of Untethered Realms and S.C.I.F.I. (South Central Indiana Fiction Interface). She has several short stories and novellas published. The Dice & Debauchery series is her first contemporary erotic romance.

Ten Movies Similar to Fade Into Me by Charity Bradford

Alex, thanks so much for having me today! My newest story is a tiny bit scifi, a lot fantasy and definitely a romance. So today I want to share some fantasy romance movies for you to fill February with. I mean, Valentines is coming up pretty quick. If nothing else, pick one to share with someone special this Saturday. Here are 10 movies that have something in common with Fade Into Me

1. Princess Bride—when it’s true love there can be no other
2. Stardust—thinking you want one thing, but what you need is right in front of you
3. The Lake House—modern world, soul mates lost in time
4. Penelope—the true love that saves her is when she learns to love herself
5. Splash—they are from two different worlds
6. Somewhere in Time—he’s willing to do anything to be with his love
7. Simply Irresistible—love and magic, and food!
8. Brigadoon—there’s a vacation in Scotland
9. Practical Magic—using magic to find love
10. Timer—can you fall in love if you don’t find your soul mate?

What Are the Kargrandes?

New clue today at What Are the Kargrandes? This is the fifth one, and there are new clues every Monday until the release of Dragon of the Stars on April 7.

Sample Tweets for this week:

What are the Kargrandes? Fifth clue up this week- http://whatarethekargrandes.com/ #whatarethekargrandes #scifi @alexjcavanaugh

Solve the mystery before April 7–what are the Kargrandes? http://whatarethekargrandes.com/ #whatarethekargrandes #scifi @alexjcavanaugh

And there have been some great reviews so far, but this one really touched me. Posted by Charity Bradford on Goodreads, it’s a really detailed and thoughtful review, and I’ll share just a snippet with you:
I love that Alex writes complex stories that don't feel complex until you take a step back and really look at it.
That's talent! I mean, there is amazing technology laced throughout this book, but you never feel bogged down by it. Alex also presents these great science fiction themes in a way that feels fresh and new.
I write complex stories – that just blows me away. Thanks, Charity!

  1. Definitely still trying to figure out the Kargrandes. And suspect I will fail.
Congratulations to all the featured authors. I lust after rather a lot of your books.

  2. Howdy Christine. I've recently started watching The Big Bang show and I have to say, it's pretty funny. Haven't seen Community yet.

Hi Charity! Interesting mix of movies. I haven't seen four on the list so I need to get busy. Congrats on your book!

And Alex, I hope you aren't going too crazy. Best of luck!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yep, still trying to figure out the Kargrandes. Better to have over scheduled the guest posts than to have none.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Some awesome books here this week. Wishing you the best with your crazy schedule. You can do it!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Sounds like you're getting organized for your tour. Not surprised. I know it'll go well. I'll have to check out the agent post on Wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Community is a GREAT comedy! One of my favorites of all-time.

    ReplyDelete
  7. This can be an overwhelming time of year, so don't feel bad about it, Alex.

I don't have time to watch adult TV or go to the movies these days, but I do have to go with The Princess Bride.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Love how you included less obvious choices, Christine! I really need to see Community someday. Everyone seems to love it!

Also, great list, Charity! Simply Irresistible, Practical Magic, and Timer are all movies I've seen and enjoyed. Really need to re-watch 'em one of these days!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Thanks for the shout out Alex.

Getting everything ready for your launch and you overbooked? That would be so easy to do, even for Ninja organizer like you. :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. I could only think of Big Bang so I feel enlightened by Christine's post.

Re Charity - I'd forgotten Valentine's was in five days. Yikes!

And congrats on the great review!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Thanks so much for hosting me today, Alex! Congrats to Charity. A few of of my favorite movies are on that list. Love the post over at IWSG site today.

TBM, I only started watching Community about a year and a half ago. So hilarious!

OE, it's brilliant! I definitely think it's being overshadowed by The Big Bang Theory.

Heather, totally! They just signed on for another season too.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Christine & Charity's books sound awesome!
Hadn't thought about that many shows showcasing geekhood! :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Elephant, that made me chuckle.

    Donna, you're welcome.

    Nick, don't forget!

    Christine, happy to host you!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Excellent guest post entries to both Christine and Charity!

I'm old enough that when I think "Cosmos", I still think "Carl Sagan." ;)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Big fan of The Big Bang Theory - been watching it from the beginning. :)

What a wonderful review of your work, Alex!

Congrats to all those who have new releases!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thanks so much for having me today Alex. Christine, I love cosmos and face-off watch those lots. Congrats on your new book too.

I'm glad I could remind some of you of some great movies. And that I could remind you Valentine's Day.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I love the movie Splash, Charity. I've probably watched it 50 times or more.

Christine, I used to watch Mythbusters if that qualifies as geeky.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I loved watching Cosmos with my daughter, who is also a geek. too bad they aren't planning to make any more episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Wow, you were quite booked up today at your bay. Princess Bride is a great movie to be like indeed and yep, Big Bang Theory was the first to pop in.

    ReplyDelete
  20. It's SO funny--I'm watching Community on Hulu Plus while I'm reading this! I tried watching before and it lost my interest. I do have a hard time paying attention...I'm not sure why. There were some laugh out loud moments, but I get easily distracted away from it...

    ReplyDelete
  21. I've never been able to watch the soup and it really turned me off to Joe McHale so that I've never watched Community. I would have pictured him as the very opposite of geek, I suppose.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Alex!

Happy snowy Monday! Do you have any extra duct tape?

Great posts from some great writers today!

    I do enjoy BBT.

    I've got visiting to do!
    Heather

    ReplyDelete
  23. Don't watch TV much so no faves there. However, in the list of romances there are several which are also my choices. I own Stardust, first saw it on a plane trip.

    Now about those Kargrandes........

    ReplyDelete
  24. I've heard great things about Community! I love Big Bang Theory! and just checked out the IWSG post--loved it! great info.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Chris, I remember watching the original Cosmos too.

    Madeline, me too! :)

Charity, thank you! Happy to be double-booked with you. :)

Diane, yes! We actually watched like three or four episodes yesterday because my son is starting to really get into it!

Chemist Ken, I'm disappointed too. Neil needs his own show!

Stephanie, sometimes it has these weird dry moments and I can't help but feel I'm missing out on something!

Charles, I can understand that, and it took me a while to warm up to him after Aisha Tyler left.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Both Christine and Charity have some great novels out. Good luck to you both. I'm definitely still puzzled by the Kargrandes. Good luck balancing everything, Alex. I know you can do it, but be careful and don't let yourself get burned out. Rest a little!

    ReplyDelete
  27. What an awesome review by Charity. That's definitely a huge compliment.

Also, Community is probably my favorite comedy show of all time, and yes, very nerdy. Their Dungeons and Dragons specials are just beyond fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Charity, happy to host and thanks again for the amazing review.

    Stephanie, that's funny.

Heather! Yes, I do have extra duct tape. I live in the South after all.

Shell, I'll save the burnout for May.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I read an article that said Big Bang characters could be anything based on the formula, but I like them being nerds. When I understand a nerdy thing they do, I get so happy. lol

Oh, are we supposed to be guessing what the Kargrandes are? lol I'm reading the clues like a guide book. lol

    ReplyDelete
  30. The Big Bang Theory is one of my favorite shows. I adore geeks. Don't really have a favorite fantasy romance.
Going to check out the small publishers now.
    Have a great week.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks for the plug, Alex. My book is in good company!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Looking forward to the literary agent. Always interested in seeing their brains picked by a swarm of bloggers. Well, not literally picked, but you know what I mean.

i'm off to check out the IWSG post now.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Charity's snippet really is a wonderful compliment! And hurrah for good reviews, woot!! A big happy Monday to ya!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love reading lists of favorite TV shows and movies. Makes me feel like I really know the bloggers.
I got to congratulate Ava in person on Saturday.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Recently discovered Community. Love it and BBT, too. Seen a couple of the movies on the list. Might be a first for me. Sharing that "double book" feeling, but going after it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Okay, I'm going to have to check out Community. And Brigadoon... a long time favorite!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Better than The Big Bang Theory (although I do enjoy it) is The IT Crowd. It's nerds with British and Scottish accents. Hilarious!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I am giving you a chainsaw, a tea cup and a bowling ball... now juggle.

Great post, I am having trouble keeping up with the whats what in my world and you are handling it all...

Still no answers... What are the Kargrandes?.. Okay this might be the obvious answer, they are characters in your new book... not space smurfs, jawas or robots with their own thoughts.

    Jeremy

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thanks Brandon and Bryan!

Debra, you can try and guess!

    Cathrina, you're welcome!

Stephen, are you saying we are a swarm?

    Susan, that's good to know.

Jeremy, I don't think I can handle more than three tennis balls. And they are characters, but what kind...?

    ReplyDelete
  40. So many great things happening. Congrats to all the new releases. And when I was reading the TV shows and movies, I just enjoyed realizing I was among like minded peeps lol!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm intrigued by Charity's book. I like anything that's similar to Stardust.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don't watch a huge amount of television (although I like Big Bang Theory and Gotham) because I'm usually reading or writing...like now!
Like typical guy, though, I watch sports on TV.
Since I'm a Giants and Yankees fan, I need to amend it to, "I watch sports that suck on TV."

    ReplyDelete
  43. Christine I love geek shows.

Charity I like al the movies you've reference, so the book will be great!

Best of luck to you both.

    Alex, you too.

    ReplyDelete
  44. My parents are constantly watching Big Bang Theory, though I'm far from the only person who lost respect for the show because they have Mayim Balik. She's well-known as anti-science in real life, such as her embrace of homeopathy and anti-vaccine propaganda.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Waving at Christine and Charity. My husband loves Big Bang Theory. Me? Not so much.

Congrats to those with new releases.

    ReplyDelete
  46. When I think of geeks and TV, my first thought is The Big Bang Theory. Congrats to Christine!

Love The Princess Bride. Congrats to Charity!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I still don't have a clue about those Kargrandes, but then I can't guess riddles either. I'm just dumb that way.

Congrats to all the new books and I'm so glad to learn I'm not the only double-booker out here.

    ReplyDelete
  48. These 10 films tell us much about Fade Into Me by!

    ReplyDelete
  49. What an amazing family of writers we have surrounding us.

And yes, I do think of these super authors as family. *G*

Can't wait to read Dragon. Excitement is building for its release over at Unicorn Bell.
    http://unicornbell.blogspot.com/2015/01/dragon-of-stars-by-alex-j-cavanaugh.html

    ReplyDelete
  50. Christine, I used to love watching Face Off! I loved seeing the strange and beautiful creatures the artists came up with.

Charity, there's a lot of good movies on that list that I love!

I'm published with a small press, so I probably know all of those pros and cons already. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Big Bang Theory is favorite at our house. We watch the reruns all the time.
And The Princess Bride is my all time favorite movie! :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm glad Christine mentioned Globe Trekker, and I'm another Big Bang Theory fan. I just couldn't get into Community, but I definitely see the nerd factor.
Of the movies Charity mentioned, Stardust is one of my favorites.
Congrats on the stellar review, Alex!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Al, I'm a sports guy as well, And your amendment is funny.

    Carrie-Anne, didn't know that.

    Carol, wow - really!?

    Chrys, I bet you do.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Thanks Christine and Charity for two fun posts. The BBT is my all time Geek favorite. One I really enjoyed many years ago was Kenneth Clark's "Civilisation." It was my first eye-opening look into art, architecture, and philosophy (outside of books) which I hadn't seen much of because I grew up in isolated areas. As for fantasy romantic movies ~ It's got to be the Starz Outlander series based on Diana Gabaldon's books. Congrats to all the authors of new books! Good luck juggling all your responsibilities, Alex! I don't know how you do it!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Such an awesome review! You must be very proud of yourself, Alex. I already started reading Dragon and I must say I'm kind of excited about it.

Christine, I LOVE GLOBE TREKKER!!!!!!! Didn't miss a show when I had cable. Probably one of the shows I miss the most now that I don't have cable.

    ReplyDelete
  56. This is going to date me, but when I read the word "Cosmos" I immediately recalled the 1980 series by Carl Sagan :)

Alex, thanks so much for the mention!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Aliens? I know I should know this, right... :)

    Juggle and dance...

    ReplyDelete
  58. Too many great bites to comment on here. You do manage, Alex, to convey appreciation for the complexities of life (even other-worldly life) in a way that's very palatable to the reader. It's one of your many remarkable skills.
    xo

    ReplyDelete
  59. I feel ya. Gotta love those double bookings! :D I'm a big fan of lots of the TV shows/films mentioned. Let's face it: those of us who love to tell stories tend to love them in any medium. I know I stare at the TV WAY too often as well. :D

    ReplyDelete
  60. I know the feeling of double booking! You managed it well!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Funny... I think of myself as a geek, but my geek TV tends to be "stuff geeks like' (Doctor Who is the biggie) rather than stuff starring geeks. Love Charity's list of comparables. How could a book with overlap in Princess Bride and Stardust not be fabulous?

    ReplyDelete
  62. ABFTS, I love the D&D episodes too!

Debra, I like them being nerds too. :)

    Beverly, me too!

    Dean, it's fantastic!

Patricia, I'll have to check that out!

Carrie-Anne, I had no idea about Mayim. Good thing I don't read entertainment news!

Chrys, I do too. They've such grand imaginations!

Jenni, happy to meet another Globe Trekker fan! :)

    Fundy Blue, I remember that.

Al, awesome! It's such a little niche show, and I'm happy to meet fans of it here.

Hart, I'm a huge Doctor Who fan!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Your double booking meant we had two cool guest posts to read today. Hi Christine and Charity.

Just visited the IWSG site, some really useful info there. Thanks for sharing everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Well, I got nothin'.
I think I'm too tired because of the electricity going off and on all night.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Considering the fact that I had to sleep for 12 hours after co-hosting IWSG last week, I do not blame you for double booking at all. I have no idea how you do it! Ninja skills, right?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Practical Magic I can watch over and over again! Maybe it has something to do with Adian Quinn's eyes!

    ReplyDelete
  67. It was fun seeing Christine and Charity! Congrats on her wonderful review, Alex! I'll stop over at the IWSG and A to Z sites later. Great news for Ava!

    Julie

    ReplyDelete
  68. Christine, geeks rule!!
Charity, Princess Bride is my absolute all-time favourite movie.
Alex, congrats again for more great reviews!!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Congrats to Christine and Charity! I don't think I watch enough TV. :)

I think the Kargrandes are the heroes we all hope to be!

Heading over to check out your IWSG post.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Face Off is one of my favorites. And I'm putting some of those 10 movies on my too-watch list. Congrats, Alex, to the great review, and hang in there!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Robyn, thank you!

Suzanne, glad you found something of value.

Andrew, all this and you got nothing?

Sarah, that and clones. The IWSG is exhausting, isn't it?

    Loni, you'll find out.

    ReplyDelete
  72. The pros and cons of Small publishers? Sounds interesting, I'll pop on over. Judging from Christine's Geek list, pretty sure I'm not a geek. I'm more mother earth and aging hippy than geek.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Great choices Christine and television just keeps getting geekier!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I read the clues about the Kargrandes, and have a few thoughts, but I'm still not sure.

You have a good double booking today.

    ReplyDelete
  75. The Big Bang is an awesome show, its really neat.

Charity my favorite sci fi flicks are: Star Trek IV The Voyage Home, Terminator 2, Star Trek Wrath of Khan, Galaxy Quest, I Robot, The Time Machine 1960, Aliens 2, Star Trek Into Darkness and lots more.

I'm guessing a Kargrandes is a sentient interstellar space creature capable of traversing the galaxy.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I do watch a few of these programs, but I'm old enough to remember the origin of the word "geek." I bet you know it also. But if you don't and are looking forward to a nice chicken dinner, don't look it up.

    ReplyDelete
  77. faceoff is def a cool show to watch...oy, i bet its getting a little crazy for you before the launch...will pop over and check out your guest spots...

    ReplyDelete
  78. Lynda, woot! :)

Tonja, I'm finding a lot of fellow Face Off fans here today.

Maurice, thanks! And yay for that!

Stephen, does that give away my age too saying I do? *LOL*

Brian, love the makeups they come up with!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Seems like Princess Bride and Stardust are group favorites! Sorry about this long reply post.

@ L. Diane, I'm sad to say I haven't made my girls watch Splash yet. I should fix that this week. :)

@Jo, I found Stardust on Netflix. Gotta love Netflix!

@Karen Walker, I forgot about Starman! That's another great one.

@Christine I'm so glad to be double-booked with you too! Good luck with the new book!

    @Bish, enjoy Brigadoon!

@Angela I think we always seem to be on the same wavelength. You're one of the people I'd love to meet and hang out with some day. ;)

@Michael, I might be able to hook you up with a copy in exchange for honest reviews. ;) You know where to find me.

    @ Leovi, I think so!

    @Chrys, me too.

@ Fundy, I'm going to check out Outlander now. Thanks for the mention.

@Hart my phone case is the TARDIS!

@Donna McDine, Practical Magic is one I watch with my sisters all the time.

@Spacer Guy I'm a HUGE Star Trek fan old and new. I've seen and enjoyed all the others as well. Galaxy Quest is one of our family quoteables.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Geeks unite. Penelope was so sweet and moving. Cool post over at IWSG Alex and here too. See you Wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  81. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I've been a Big Bang fan since day one...and I never tire of watching the reruns!

Splash is a movie that I definitely need to watch again. It's been way too long!

Alex, I don't see how you have time for a bowel movement...much less anything else! :)

    ReplyDelete
  83. One can never go wrong with The Princess Bride for romantic fantasy...

    Geek shows...Doctor Who. Star Trek.

    ReplyDelete
  84. My favourite sci-fi film is the chliched answer of Star Wars. Back to the Future comes a close second, just to add to the clichedness.

    ReplyDelete
  85. So much good news here!
    CONGRATULATIONS to everyone!
And I'm hot on the trail of those Kargrandes.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Who would have guessed geeks would end up being the next big thing? Still can't quite believe it.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Karen, you probably know all the pros and cons.

    Spacer Guy, you're close!

DL - that made me laugh!

    Moody, isn't it awesome?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Stardust...sigh... I love that movie!

    ReplyDelete
  89. I am not one for the Big Bang Theory because that was my life in University and it actually hits too close to home and starts giving me hives:) I do love Faceoff-I think that show is so cool and this new season is quite amazing. As for great romantic films-I love the Princess Bride, Somewhere in Time and Brigadoon. I also love The Enchanted Cottage-an oldie but a goodie

    ReplyDelete
  90. *fan girls over Christine Rains*

I don't mind you overbook, Alex. :) It seemed to work together fairly well.

I tweeted for you, now heading to check out those pros and cons.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Sheena-kay, woo-hoo! :)

    DL, me either!

Jack, two of my favorite shows!

    HGW, it is!

Mooderino, it is strange, but cool!

Birgit, my geeky university years were spent in the library. Face Off is totally amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Two guest hosts is pretty darn awesome. Love the book covers. Hope you're getting some rest between gigs, Alex. And don't bypass those veggies.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Congratulations on such an awesome review, Alex! And thanks for the shout out. I really appreciate it.

Christine-I love Big Bang Theory and need to find this Face Off program.

Charity- I love Splash and Princess Bride. Thought it's sci fi more than fantasy, I really liked Starman.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Christine - I'm a fan of the Big Bang Theory too. And I don't catch Cosmos I'm a fan of Neil (we're on a first name basis).

Charity - Splash is possibly my favorite fantasy romance, but Princess Bride is up there too. Great choices.

I'd like to know about small presses, Alex, so I'll visit you at IWSG.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Double the fun here today! One of our favorite geek shows we watch on Netflix is Comic Book Men with Kevin Smith.

    ReplyDelete
  96. So when I read the topic, favorite nerd show, I screamed, "Battlestar Galactica!" in my head because it's my absolute favorite show that nerds love. But that wasn't the question, was it? Frack! Now I'm going to pop in the DVD.

Sorry I haven't been around - I need more time.

  97. Birgit, we are addicted to Face Off.

Thanks, Kane! And it did seem to work out.

Joylene, I do eat my veggies now.

    Ava, you're welcome!

    Tonja, you made me chuckle.

  99. Thanks for the shout out about my release, Alex! And congrats to both Charity and Christine. Charity's list of movies made me want to check out her book even more.

  100. It was fun to get to know a little about Christine and Charity. I haven't seen Somewhere in Time in years, but I used to love to catch it on TV.

Congrats to all with good news!

  101. I enjoyed the IWSG post about small presses. Really an eye-opener.

    The heat has been excruciating.
    My brain is fried.
    Off to tweet.

  102. I much prefer Community to the Big Bang Theory!

It's more genuinely funny, and less lazy in its humour.

Does South Park count as a show featuring geeks? Those kids get obsessed with all kinds of things and the Game of Thrones Black Friday episodes were hilarious.

  103. I haven't seen The Big Bang Theory yet. Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies.

I'll check out the IWSG site.

  106. Hi Alex!!! Love the author commentary!! Charity and Christine R are both fab, so it's great to hear from both of them. "Don't Forget to Breath" is queued within my Kindle app on my iPad...can't wait until it's up next. Seems like it's going to be a good one!!!

  110. I appreciated the Pro/Con of small publishers post at IWSG. Good stuff to think about. And much of it I had already considered.

Christine: I love Face Off, and never thought of it as a geek program.

Charity: ah, now your novel sounds really intriguing.

  111. I haven't heard of most of those shows - except Big Bang of course. But Community sounds fun :)

I love that this community is full of proud geeks - makes me feel very at home!

  118. My curiousity about the Kargrandes is increasing day by day. Whatever they are or whatever it is, it sounds interesting. Alex, how did you stumble across the name kargrandes?

  119. As geek goes, there's no doubt that community is a whole other level of geek beyond The Big Bang Theory. The two together are like smart geeks vs average geeks.

I love the movie Timer, but I was reently surprised by a movie called Upsaide Down. It's not going to win any awards, but it's a good story.

So happy to hear about your positive reviews.
