The Ubuntu Bloghop
Michelle Wallace at Writer-in-Transit is celebrating her third blog anniversary with a bloghop!
What is ubuntu? "In Africa, there is a concept known as UBUNTU – the profound sense that we are human only through the humanity of others; that if we are to accomplish anything in this world, it will in equal measure be due to the work and achievement of others." – Nelson Mandela.
When I signed up, I had no idea what I was going to post for this bloghop. I knew poetry was out of the question. (You should all be grateful for that.) I thought about posting a video or a Bible passage.

ReplyDeleteI'm definitely praying for Roland. It's already the 19th here, so every time I glimpse my calendar on my computer, I remember to shoot up a prayer.
ReplyDeleteIt's frightening enough when surgery is exploratory with a possibility of cancer. That's true for both the patient and their families. Surgery to deal with cancer is awful and hopeful at the same time. I'll keep Roland and his family in my prayers.

Snow is a nasty four letter word for me this year. Our temps are in the 40's and 50's most of this week with nasty snow possible Monday night. If there is any accumulation, I think I'll make a snow ninja effigy and throw snow balls at it, lol!

I read the guest post on ISWG earlier today. Nice informative post on the do not of marketing and advertising your book. It sounds like there really aren't a lot of options out there unless you want to dish money out to do your own advertising. Also wanting to wish Roland a speedy recovery

Great post. The movie trivia was killing me because I love Morgan Freeman and Bruce Willis and I knew that answer was going to be so obvious once I saw it. It was, lol. Red is a good one.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading Roland's "Her Bones are in the Badlands" right now and am loving it! Will definitely head over to get more of him in my library. Sucks that he has to worry about paying for it and can't focus only on getting better. I'll keep him in my prayers.

ReplyDeleteWhat a cheery post Alex! Mini Alex in the snow really made me smile. Maybe because I just got back from a wonderful afternoon walk on the beach in Florida! OH... to feel the sun again was wonderful and not to have to wear twenty pounds of clothing to go out was just amazing.

Hey Alex. I've been unplugged lately and only now found out about Roland's surgery. Thanks for posting about this, you're a good friend. He's supposed to return to work for 7 days straight! Anyone who hasn't read any of his books should definitely check out the Victor series. I just added some of his new stuff to my collection. If nothing else, pray for him. He's really had a rough time of it lately.

That is a great example of the Ubuntu spirit in the blogging world. Gald to see we managed to cheer Jeremy up. Just knowing that, makes me feel good. It's also nice to see Mini Alex getting out and about. I see in your latest post he's also getting into a bit of trouble, terrible 2s maybe? ;)
