My theme – I have selected a word for each day and will present to you blogger buddies who fit that description, along with movies, music, etc. My theme is to give back, highlight some awesome bloggers, and have fun in the process.
FRIENDLY
Talli Roland You’ve probably heard me rave about the cutest Canadian English girl on the Internet. But the ‘cute’ extends far past Talli’s appearance. She is a genuine friend to all. You will feel welcome the moment you visit her blog. (And she often serves wine!) This woman cannot possibly have any enemies, and I envy that. Talli is the real deal – an awesome author and pure joy to know!
Kathy at Life on the Muskoka River
This Canadian lass is about as friendly as they come. I don’t think she knows a stranger. If she thinks she doesn’t know you well enough, she’ll dig until she does! Her blog is warm and welcome place, and she regularly features “Letters from a Friend.” Positive and upbeat, Kathy brings a lot of sunshine to the blogging world.
Psych
I’m taking a few liberties and changing friendly to friendship. This hilarious show centers on the friendship of Shawn and Gus as they run their Psychic Detective agency. It’s one of the few shows I enjoy watching over and over. Check it out if you want to brighten up your day.
Ninja News
We’ve been waiting for the cover reveal and release date – and surprise, Michael Offutt’s Slipstream is available now! Go check it out and be watching in May when he kicks off his blog tour here.
My awesome Challenge co-host Jeremy will have a new book out as well soon - Retro-Zombie: Art & Words. Will keep you posted…
And the big news!
It’s been a long time coming… You remember the Movie Dirty Dozen, the Top Ten TV Shows, the Top Ten Countdown, the It’s All Fun and Games, and the Worst Movies Ever blogfests – well now it’s time for a new blogfest.
First Loves Blogfest - on May 14, post your first loves – first movie, first song/band, first book, and first person. Four loves, one blogfest!

I can't find my name on the A-Z list and it makes a Calvin cry.
ReplyDeleteCathy is the friendliest! I think she said once that she's an introvert but I can't believe that at all!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for Michael! And his cover is killer too.
ReplyDeleteLove Psych & heading over to visit Talli now.
Happy Easter!
When you mentioned I should drop by today for the letter F, I thought for SURE you were going to mention me and that "feck" word I so often employ!!!!! Imagine my surprise to see myself under "friendly."
ReplyDeleteAwwwww, so nice you are, Mr. Nija, and so doubly nice to be mentioned along with Tali.
Hugs to you all and, I've got to say, I am having a BLAST on this A to Z tour!!!! Thanks so much for your always-enthusiastic involvement.
(I am an introvert, Laura - only it's easy to be brave behind a computer!)
Ninja, not Nija. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI'm too forgetful to remember my first anything
ReplyDeletePsych is my favorite show. I think my DVR is full because of them. Friendly people are awesome.

ReplyDeleteYay for blogfests! I signed up! A blogger friend and I will be doing a "firsts" blogfest, too, in June or July. Ours will be aimed toward WIP. :D

ReplyDeleteCM, sorry!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jamie.
Cal, did you sign up?
Laura, I don't believe it!!
Cathy, you are most welcome! Glad you are having fun. And I do agree about the introvert part - easier to hide that online.
Christine, hope you like my idea!
Annalisa, probably no more than my choices.
Anna, I'll check it.
Jackie, that sounds good!
Another Blofgest? Of course I follow Talli. I haven't been to Kathy's blog in a while though. Lover her banner! Psych is fun to watch. I'll catch it late at night if I have trouble sleeping. Its a bit off but in the right way.
ReplyDeleteI been to Talli's neck of the woods but not Kathy's blog.
ReplyDeleteTeresa
I love Psych! So funny.
ReplyDeleteTotally signed up for the "Firsts" blogfest!
I should just dedicate my blog to blogfests.
I've been meaning to watch Psych. Think I will give it a try.
ReplyDeleteSigned up for the blogfest - couldn't resist this one. Sweating a little because I still keep in touch with my first (though he doesn't read my blog I'm sure. Phew!).
could not resist the Muskoka river blog. thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteYep, both Talli and Cathy have cool blogs.
ReplyDeleteI've seen commercials for Psych, but they've never really grabbed my interest. Maybe I'll check out an episode, just to see what it is really like.
Well I know Talli, will have to check out Cathy. Happy Easter Captain. :)
ReplyDeleteJules @ Trying To Get Over The Rainbow
I don't watch Psych, but nice blog fest on remembering the firsts.
ReplyDeleteRetrozombie is a fun blog! He's got an interesting take on the A to Z Challenge too.
ReplyDeleteI heart Talli something fierce! She's such a great blogger friend!
ReplyDeleteGreat shoutouts to fellow bloggers and I've never heard of that show. The upcoming blogfest sounds like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteTalli is my idol! I am her stalker! Great post, Alex. You do keep busy! :)
ReplyDeleteI have never watched Psych. I decided to sign up for the blogfest!
ReplyDeleteTalli is very friendly.
ReplyDeleteI do follow Talli. I now follow Kathy.
ReplyDeletePsych is one of those shows that I don't know how we lived without. I feel like I know them. I feel like we were all in school together. I get all their jokes. Love.
I love your blogfest idea! Thanks for giving us plenty of time to remember all those things that happened SO long ago!
Heather
First loves? I might have to pick something other than a person since The Wife reads my blog. Just to avoid any discussions about it.
ReplyDeleteOh boy! Now, I'll have to break out those stored memories I've been hiding for so long. Lol
ReplyDeleteHi Alex .. great para about Talli - and I'd definitely agree with you - have just met Kathy .. so we'll meet up at times ..Muskoka River sounds a wonderful place to live ..

ReplyDeleteErin
I don't like Psych. And I'm swearing off blogfests (after this one) until I get my current WIP done. Have a great Easter.
ReplyDeleteYay, Michael!!! I'm so excited for him. I ordered the book yesterday. Okay, am I the only one having issues with the lists? I can't use the A to Z list, and I can't sign up for the hop. I'm finally able to blog today. Ugh, frustrated. Maybe that should have been my theme for F today. Nope, I like the happy theme better. :) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteAnother great blogfest!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat choices for friendly - those are 2 of the sweetest people around!
I love Talli!!!! She's the bomb. Congrads to Michael! Yay.
ReplyDeletePsych IS AWESOME. Absolutely HILARIOUS.
The blogfest was quite the surprise. I thought as I scrolled, what are those names doing there. Uh-huh. :-)
I'm in, Ninja
ReplyDeleteI'm in!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I loved Psych. I only saw a few episodes, but what I saw I LOVED> And Munk. Oh man. Lie To Me is awesome, too. Really helps me with my writing--so it's research. Yeah, that's it.
I'll have to think on those firsts--that's a long time ago!

Tossing It Out
I'm not even sure I can remember those first loves. Other than the person, of course.
ReplyDeleteYes! I know both Cathy & Talli! Still, I need to go visit them again. I haven't been a great neighbor in that respect. And I'll definitely check out Michael & Jeremy's books. Can't say I've ever been drawn to Psyche. But your newest blogfest sounds like a blast! I've already signed up. And lastly, thanks again for the generous mention yesterday! I had lots of new visitors because of it. You're the best, Alex! Still crushin'!
ReplyDeleteI have several of those categories already thought out. Great idea - can't wait!
ReplyDeleteTalli rocks, indeed. I think that after A to Z, I'll be taking May off. lol
ReplyDeleteAlex, some great blogs and news. I'll have to think hard for the blogfest
ReplyDelete@Arlee It feels like a long time to me too.
I think it's cool that your Ninja News headline appears on a throwing star. Thanks for the shout out sir Alex.
ReplyDeleteI've been postponing so many things I think I'm booked for May!
ReplyDeleteI've been postponing so many things I think I'm booked for May!
ReplyDeleteIs having a first love as in person necessary for the blogfest, I just married the guy my parents chose for me (with my consent of course)?
ReplyDeleteSlip stream will have to wait, just bought Creepy Hollow, Open Minds and Breakthrough...then there is Cassafire, CH 2 and some Indian books to buy.
Its raining Books in blogland that's all I can say.
Your buddies are lucky to be thus embellished in cyber space.
Ciara, I think Linky Tools was having issues earlier.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Karen!
Robyn, no one suspected this blogfest - ha ha ha!
Lee, sorry if it makes anyone's brain hurt.
Nancy, thank you!!!
Donna, no you won't.
Maurice, hope you join us.
Michael, you're welcome. yeah, thought it was time the Ninja News needed a logo.
Thank you, Rekha! And it doesn't have to be romantic - could be a parent or sibling.
I haven't visited Talli in a while - I will have to drop in soon. Hmmm, a lot of firsts there not sure I remember.....
ReplyDeleteYou always seem to have something happening here, Alex.
ReplyDeleteI'm considering the new blogfest, but I have to decide how much I want to divulge. Or should I give the fantasy version?
Is this a therapy group?
FRIENDLY, lovely word, I think it is the second comment but I love and is ideal for this challenge.
ReplyDeleteYay for the Canadians! I'm a Canadian living in the UK too, (since I was two) and would agree that Canadians are so Friendly.
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of your blogfest. I may have to join in witht his one. I will definitely sidebar it.
Cool new blogfest! Totally not what I expected, but I like it!
ReplyDeletePSYCH ROCKS!!!
ReplyDeleteand you TOTALLY surprised me with this blogfest!
I like your theme. You do well in supporting other writers / bloggers, it's great to see help and support in a society that makes it so easy to live each day as a jaded cynic like myself!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I am ready for another blog fest as my first love is music, and at times was my only love.
ReplyDeleteI already blog about that ad nauseum. I can always find more to say about it, but if people want to read it is another question!
Following Talli but now I'm going to go follow Cathy too!
ReplyDeleteI'm in! Hve your blogfest button on my sidebar now! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, Talli s one of the sweetest bloggers I know! Her posts are always so uplifting, and she always makes an effort to respond to your comments. Can't wait to meet her in person in September at the Festival of Writing, where she'll be speaking.
Going to go check out Cathy's blog now.
J.C. Martin

Love the Psych! It's one of the things I do together with my kids.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me THAT wouldn't go over well either.
ReplyDeleteCanadians are so friendly. Hey, I'm sitting in Toronto right now waiting for my connection, and the people are very nice...except for those customs people. Mean.
ReplyDeleteDG, you could go fantasy - have fun with it!
ReplyDeleteMadeleine, thank you!
Tyrean, I try not to be too predictable.
Vic, I think I surprised everyone.
Rick, you're not cynical.
JC, thanks. And so cool you get to meet Talli!!!
Joshua, a pet maybe? They usually think they are people anyway.
LG, sorry!
oohhh! Wxciting times. Must go buy Michael's book... Talli's the best, I was lucky enough to meet her last year... and WOOHOO! Love your new fest - I'm in
ReplyDeleteLxxx
Psych is a great show. Ever see the one where they do a parody of American Idol? Gus as Michael Jackson...oh man, I'm laughing just thinking about it. Everytime I hear Tears for Fears' "Shout," I think about Psych now.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a blogfest. I'm in, of course. And I just LOVE the banner!
ReplyDeleteI love Psych. Such a funny show. The friendship between Shawn and Gus is great - they seem more like brothers at times. :)
ReplyDeleteAl, I really like the idea for your next blogfest. I'm in.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also think Talli is super duper.
I've signed up! Also, just bought Slipstream and can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Psych. I think it is one of the most underrated shows. It is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a blogfest. I've often seen Psych on Netflix, but haven't watched it yet. I need to get in on that action.
ReplyDeleteAnd perfect picks for friendly!
You're killing me, Alex. I can't resist signing up.
ReplyDeleteTalli is wonderful. I watch Psych sometimes and always enjoy it.
Yea for Talli!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter :)
Laura, thanks!

Elana, you have to watch it.
Susan, you know you want to!
Cool idea for a blogfest! I'm in.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Michael! Off to check out your links.
I have actually watched Psych and fully agree. It's a great dose of comedy for kids and adults. Nice to know quality TV still exists.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Alex.
xoRobyn
I do follow Talli. Have to get around to a few more!!!! and follow as well.
ReplyDeleteYou do such a great job spotlighting your followers. Enjoy what you have to say about them.
PS This is, as always, a great post. Thanks for pointing out so many great bloggers. I'm about to check out Kathy's blog (already a Talli fan), and am contemplating joining the blogfest. It's a great idea.
ReplyDeletexoRobyn
thanks so muc for the blog links! I hadn't known about the Muskoka blog - and I'm from there!
ReplyDeleteWe saw Wrath of the Titans last week and LOVED it despite the trashing it got in reviews. Good clean fun!
I do follow Talli and she is friendly and helpful.
ReplyDeleteANother blogfest? Well at least it's only one day. I'm in!

Thanks, Sia!
Tracy and Jessica, thanks!
The Blogger glitch must have been on my end as half of your blog didn't load earlier. Wish I had a bit of your energy -- will have to pass on the fest, sorry.
ReplyDeleteI love Talli! :) I'll check out Kathy's blog right after this. Oh, and count me in for the First Loves Blogfest. Have a great weekend, Alex!
ReplyDeleteI had the pleasure of bumping into Cathy during AtoZ. Talli I knew. Will have to check out Psych.
ReplyDeleteCool idea for a blogfest.
You selected two perfect ladies for the word friendly! I love Psych! I had one episode DVR'd so I could watch one specific scene over and over again, because it made me laugh so hard I'd cry. Sadly, I lost it when we ditched satellite.
ReplyDeleteShannon at The Warrior Muse, co-host of the 2012 #atozchallenge! Twitter: @AprilA2Z
What a cool idea, to spotlight people! I'll have to go check out both of their blogs!
ReplyDeleteAnd, regrettably, I haven't watched Psych at all. But clearly I need to.
Hi Alex,
ReplyDeleteYes, it's me, Gary who and I quote our friend Lee, one of the fine hosts of this alphabet challenge, "You have been appointed as the official anti-A to Z spokesman." Well, my good friend, despite my good natured, sometimes satirical postings on the challenge, I really do wish you and all those involved, the very best with it all. To embrace the ethos, to make new friends, within a sharing, caring blogging community, is a most profound and positive result.
I'm liking your Canadian theme here, eh. Then again, I would say that. What with me being a Canadian living in England and having such fun with the lost in translation, differences.
May you and all of your many friends who have the great pleasure in visiting your superb and interactive site, have a peaceful, positive Easter and much happy writing in the challenge.
With respect and kind wishes, your way, Gary
Kittie, sorry you had problems!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carrie!
Mary, glad you are on board!
Shannon, no!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gary, thank you very much and have a blessed Easter!
Oh I know Talli but Kathy is new to me, sounds like a great blog. Great idea for a blogfest, and congrats to Michael and Jeremy. I love Jeremy's artwork.

Awesome idea for a blogfest, can't wait for it!
ReplyDeleteI've had to stop drinking while reading Kathy's posts because I tend to spit out what's in my mouth. She's great!
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine how you have the energy to start working on another blogfest while we're still in the early stages of A to Z. Alex, you're a superman.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alex! Having a blast with the A-Z challenge so far. what a wonderful way to plan for the future and look forward to May. It'll be a fun theme!

ReplyDeleteI know I am a bit late on this post, but I wanted to tell you that I like this idea of the new bloggers you are introducing us to.
ReplyDeleteAs always, a great representation for the letter F and another exciting blogfest! I'll sign up!
ReplyDeleteMartha, I can't explain it either!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rachna.

Just signed up!
ReplyDeleteVery cool blogfest! I'll have to see what I have planned around that date and whether or not I have the time to sign up. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE Psych. Seriously one of my favorite shows.
smart to use the momentum from one blogfest to powerup another
ReplyDeletehope others look for ways to keep people engaged
I will be traveling for pleaseure and for my novel so will have to pass
Sounds like a fantastic blog hop!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun. Just signed up! How do I get the logo to put on my blog?
ReplyDeletePsych is my FAVORITE show on TV. Don't get USA but it is always available ON DEMAND and we buy each season...Castle could take lessons on how to bring the leads "together" and still make a good show...
ReplyDeleteYay a new blogfest. A small request though? Post a reminder a couple days before. My brain tends to wander off when dates are so far in advance. With everyone posting daily I'm falling even farther behind in my reading. I use to have tues and thurs to catch up on people's posts now I can't read anyone. :( But you're all in my thoughts..
ReplyDeleteOhh very nice new blogfest... I'm in:)
ReplyDeleteWow...over 100 comments and it's only 8:30. YOU ROCK!
ReplyDeleteI <3 Talli.
I <3 Ninjas.
I <3 You.
Seriously though, LOVE the blogest! Since I'm a romance gal at heart...this is totally up my alley! YEAH!
~JD
This is my first Blogfest, I'm nervous! Maybe I've missed this but is it to be one post or four different ones?
ReplyDeleteGrazola, all on one day.
ReplyDeleteGACK!! Just check the list. Did I not sign up? I have a post and all. Going to sign up now. (If you find me twice, let me know. Thx.)
ReplyDeleteOoh lots of nice things for me to look at, thank you :) That blogfest looks fun, I have exams but I might join :D
ReplyDeleteYeey! I'm in! That's right - if you failed miserably in one challenge - what do you do - Enter another oneeee!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, so all these firsts are to be in one post?? O.o yes, I got the answer a few comments above :P
See you there!
Okay, I've succumbed. I have a hard time resisting these things. I must be a glutton for punishment. After this one I'm done for a while. Well, unless someone comes along with something I just can't resist.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should have a sleepfest.

Hi Alex! I wanted to let you know I signed up for the Blogfest, but my name isn't showing up? Can I do it again or will that screw it up? Hmmmm???
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Monday's Blogfest - see you all there!
ReplyDeleteLets go!
ReplyDeleteI will be seeing Dark Shadows...it certainly will be different from the TV show I watched as a kid! I haven't seen the Avengers yet but I think next week will the time.
ReplyDeleteI linked into to the blogfest...the pull was too strong!
What a great idea. Thanks for the opportunity not only to blog but to meet other bloggers! This should be fun. Already took me waaaay down memory lane and wow, what a trip!
ReplyDeleteHave been reading everyone else new blogfest! Pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteAfter two days of blogging I finally got through reading everyones first loves. This was so much fun! I was amazed to see a lot of similarities.
ReplyDeleteStar Wars, The Princess Bride, Indiana Jones, The Last Unicorn, and Dirty Dancing came up often.
