ENERGETIC and ENTHUSIASTIC - A to Z Challenge

It’s the third A to Z Challenge! Blog the letters of the alphabet in order every day except Sundays The participation list is HERE – start with the blog after yours and visit at least five blogs a day. Mostly, make new friends and have fun!

My theme – I have selected a word for each day and will present to you blogger buddies who fit that description, along with movies, music, etc. My theme is to give back, highlight some awesome bloggers, and have fun in the process.

ENERGETIC and ENTHUSIASTIC

No one has more energy and enthusiasm than Kitty. You may think I am the blogging Ninja, but she is everywhere – every day! She is just so full of joy and wit. I don’t know what I’d do without a comment from Kitty. We may only be graced with posts once a week from her and Charlie, but her energy lasts all week. Kitty, you are a true blessing! I can’t give you Daniel Craig in person, so hope this will suffice. (And enjoy, as it’s the only man shot I intend to ever feature here!!!)

Her icon says it all – just look at that smile! Nancy is also a total blogging Ninja, pouncing with glee. She judges not but approaches every person as if he or she is a good friend. Her posts are always upbeat, as are her comments. No matter what I post, I know Nancy will swoop in and say something encouraging. She’s one cool ball of positive energy! And soon to be a published author… her book comes out October 18, 2012.

Kvelertak
Take a dash of punk, rock, metal and hardcore and stick it in a blender. The tasty concoction is the Norwegian band Kvelertak. This is my go to music whenever I need high energy. The album is pure fun start to finish. Don't expect any English though - all of the lyrics are in Norwegian!

Ninja News!

Thanks to everyone who posted for the Insecure Writer’s Support Group yesterday. The group now has a life of its own.

And apologies to anyone I missed yesterday. I blogged a little in the morning before meetings took me hostage. When I came back after lunch, there were a hundred and fifty unread posts in my blogger buddies folder alone. I really do wish I had clones to keep up with everyone, but I gave it my best shot yesterday. And I know so many have left comments here – I will visit you by this weekend!

Are you following Kitty and Nancy? Ever heard of Kvelertak? Having fun with the Challenge? Forgive the Ninja if I can’t get to your blog today? (I’m really trying!) Who or what would you call energetic or enthusiastic? And tomorrow I announce my next blogfest! (Relax, it’s not until mid-May.)

  6. Hey Alex - you epitomise energy and enthusiasm... hands down!
Sorry but I couldn't post for IWSG yesterday... the A to Z just gobbled up all my time...

    ReplyDelete
  7. Not another blogfest! Argh. Nooooo, not even in May. How do you do it? Must be all that Ninja food and hanging out with such energetic souls.

The manpic doesn't do it for me - reminds me too much of one of our politicians who likes to be thought of as fit and healthy...ick ick ick (at least yours isn't wearing budgie smugglers)

  19. Hi - it's Lynn #148 - I wanted to make sure I stopped by all the hosts' blogs before this thing is over. I'm enjoying the challenge. :) And can relate about needing a clone. Ha!

    ReplyDelete
  20. The challenge(s) are lots of fun and very inspirational. I can't believe how many people I've met and it's only Day 5. There's nothing to forgive - I still see you everywhere Alex! Off to see Kitty and Nancy.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes, Kvelertak is full of energy, I like.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Never heard of the band. I'll have to give them a go.

This week has been a whirlwind for me. Only day 5? Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  23. That's a lot of posts to read.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Social media is a terrific place when it's used for building up, not tearing down, befriending, not spamming. And just being a kind person!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm not following the bloggers, but I'll check them out. I haven't heard of the band. I can't even pronounce it. Thank you for the Daniel Craig pic.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm gonna have to go a meet Kitty. She sounds like my type of person!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Norwegian music! I'll have to give my husband the tip, since y'all tend to like the same type of music. Good luck with the meetings!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Enthusiasm is a mystery to me, I never seem to manage it. Those Nords do make some awesome metal though :D

    Tegan Wilson

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm following Kitty already. Now I'm off to check out Nancy's website.

    Thanks for the tips.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Kitty rocks! And I am having fun in this challenge even if I am hampered by moving prep and work. :) Can't wait to hear about your blog fest tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Another blogfest? boy oh boy, you don't need any more energy, Alex. I think you should send some extra to me over here! Okies...I'll take Daniel Craig...

    ReplyDelete
  32. I've never heard of that music. And yes, I'm having fun reading the posts.

    Teresa

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've never heard of Kvelervak. Though the name is cool. I'm off to check out your E bloggers. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Everything in this post is new to me. Except that shot of Daniel Craig. I'm not really into metal, but I'll have to give them a quick listen, just for you.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks, Lynn! Hope to visit you soon.

    Rusty, only day five!

    Brinda, you're welcome.

    Tegan, yes they do!

    Melissa, think you'll like it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yay Old Kitty!

I read some of the ISWG posts yesterday and they were wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Will check out Kitty and Nancy. Thanks for the links!

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's time for me to officially meet Kitty. I see her comments everywhere!

    Play off the Page

    ReplyDelete
  39. I follow Nancy! She is fantastic!

Never apologize! We know you're out there. Always.

    Heather

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm in awe of your schedule. Before meetings? After lunch? Good lord, do you sleep? Don't answer that. I know. It's that blog demigod thing I mentioned. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well Alex if you're only ever going to feature one man shot you chose a beauty!

    Denise

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love your go to music! I like Kvelertak and will probably featuring them in my A to Z at some point too. Was lucky enough to catch them live a couple of years ago, very sweaty and very loud - loved it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Alex, I thought you were the only blogging ninja, but obviously I was wrong. :) These to lovely girls are part of the clan. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Will check out both these blogs they sound amazing. Never heard of Kvelertak, not even sure I can pronounce that! :)

    Universal Gibberish

    ReplyDelete
  45. Another great post Alex - this challenge has been so fun! :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I read Old Kitty everywhere - but I don't follow, so I really ought to.

There are currently 397 blogs in my Google Reader - this is so much bigger than I thought it would be - but lots of fun!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm following them now! :) And I'm sure Kitty appreciates your posting a man shot for her!

  48. Man pic! Thank ya.

Congrads to Nancy on her book release!

I saw Insecure posts everywhere yesterday. I told them I wish I had gotten in on that. :-)

You are a blogging machine man! What is your secret? Do tell!

    Will visit your peeps! *waving*

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'd never heard of the band, so I wandered over to YouTube. I can see why you describe them as energetic. I have to admit when I feel the need for an energy lift from music, I go back to my '80s roots and put Blondie or Bon Jovi on.

    Erin

    ReplyDelete
  50. Booooooooo!!!!!!!! Yep following Nancy and off to check out Ms. Kitty Cat now. Have a great day :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Cool, I love Norwegian rock. One song that makes me want to get up and start kicking ass is Blodtorst.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I haven't heard of that band, but I'm curious - fan of Volbeat? They are my go to when I need to kick back at life. It's a band influenced by Johnny Cash and Metallica that just blows my mind.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I need to be energetic today, I have to run 10 miles for half-marathon training.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Another blogfest in May? Goodness, you people can't give us any time to rest. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Nancy is amazing. And the greatest thing of all is that we live in the same town and she found me through your blog! That's the beauty of our blogging community. It doesn't get any better :-)

I'm off to visit Kitty's digs now (I always see her commenting here). I haven't heard of Kvereltak, but I will definitely check it out.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I am going to give Kvelertak a listen.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Haven't heard of Kvelertak, but now I'm curious.

I'm having fun with the challenge, but it's hard to get around-there are so many people and I want to read everyone's posts.

My kids are energetic, if I had just a quarter of their energy I'd accomplish SO much in a day.

Off to check out the people you mentioned. Oh, and I forgive the Ninja if you can't get to my blog ;)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yay for Kitty's Daniel Craig obsession! I want a swim now, though...

    ReplyDelete
  59. Wow! Thank you so much, Alex! I am truly humbled. And to be in such great company as Kitty, too. She's awesome! I've never heard of that band, even though my husband is Norwegian. I'll check them out though since we have such similar taste in music. And I think you're the most incredible Ninja blogger ever. How you manage to visit a fraction of the blogs you do is beyond me. Are you sure you don't use clones? Ooh, another blogfest! Yay! I love 'em. I haven't been able to visit much during the A2Z just yet since I'm under a revision deadline. I'll makeup for that next week & during your next party! BTW, thanks for the morning jolt of Daniel Craig. Yowza! He looks a lot like my first boyfriend. You're the best, Alex!!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Great shout out for those bloggers who shine! Here's to E and all the ENERGY in this challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I follow Nancy's and agree on the energy. Congrats to her on her book coming out also. Can't wait for tomorrows posting. :)

Ninja is forgiven on not making to all the blogs, lol! My hats off to you on doing what you do.

p.s. totally looking forward to reading your book, hearing such good good things!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Love your A to Z theme. It's so friendly.

Fun to get to know new people. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Clarissa, yes they were. I tried to get to as many as possible.

    Mary, go meet Kitty!

Mina, just one lone Ninja trying to do his best...

Denise, glad you enjoyed it then.

Ride, that's awesome you saw them live!

    George, they are both everywhere.

Annalisa, I won't tell you how many are in mine...

Robyn, please join us next month.

    Jay, that sounds cool.

Tasha, I know of them but not their music.

    Rick, good luck.

Angela, glad I was a small part of your meeting!

Kela, that is a big challenge.

Nancy, you are most welcome and thanks so much!

Deb, thanks - hope you enjoy it.

    Thank you, everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Okay, my new friend, please tell me what kind of vitamins you take and where I might get some today!! E is definitely for ENERGY!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Of course I know Kitty and Nancy. :) they are great! Never heard of Kvelertak though.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Great post, Alex. Energetic and enthusiastic are two words I would use to describe you. I am repeating myself, you and Stephen are my blogging heroes :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Kvelertak I can't even pronounce it! Lol

    ReplyDelete
  70. I don't think you need to apologize, you seem to do an amazing job of commenting - anyway, this challenge is about meeting new people. Will go meet the people you recommend now. Have a great day :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. So true about Nancy and I hope to meet Kitty soon! Julie

    ReplyDelete
  72. 150 unread posts... my brain just melted out of my ears. You are a better man than I, just for pondering the attemtpt.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Yowsa...that's a risque pic of Daniel Craig. You are feeling courageous today Sir Alex! I applaud you for embracing Mr. Craig in his shorts.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Wow, I guess its fun being Head Honcho of the Ninja club. Long Live the Ninja!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I think one of the most surprising things I didn't expect to find by visiting blogs was all the cool music and new bands I've been introduced to.
    Another blogfest??? Oh, boy.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I need some pure fun for my writing today, so I think I'll look into this Kvelertak you speak of.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yes to following both of those great ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Kelly, I just eat right and exercise!

    Rachna, thank you!

Bryan, that might be good fodder for one of your strips. And I attempted and conquered!

Michael, only for Kitty. I will have my day when "N" rolls around.

    Susan, that's a good thing!

Elana, don't let it scare you.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I see Kitty's comments often out here. Go easy on yourself, you are not expected to visit everyone everyday.
As for my IWSG post, cross my heart and promise will be a positive, even humourous one next month. My nephews are visiting me in two weeks and I doing the Jive already. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  80. Great E post! Kitty is a rig. I'm off to check the others.

You asked what movie, I'd like to see 'Hunger Games', but daughter has seen it. She is on vacation starting tomorrow...but she did say, "Mom, I want you to see it. It is sooo good."
    One can hope...

    ReplyDelete
  81. You are the King of Energetic, Alex! Kitty is a sweetheart. Nancy an icon. Great post. All three of you, take in a deep breath. I want all three of you around for a long time!

    ReplyDelete
  82. NOBODY has more blogging energy that you my friend! I think you must have clones doing some of the work...

    ReplyDelete
  83. Great post! I am following Kitty!

    ReplyDelete
  84. I've been following Kitty and Nancy for a while now; they're two of my favorite bloggers! :)

I can't wait to find out what the blogfest will be about.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I need some energy today! Now I have two new blogs and a band to check out to give me some!

And I have no idea how you do this without clones. Writing books, blogging every day, keeping up with all of your blogging buddies & having a full time job?

I'd long been laboring under the idea that you had multiple clones. One for each task.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Kvelertak sounds like something I'd like running to. Thanks for the heads up! And the Craig pic. Always appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Amen to Old Kitty! She is the biggest bright spot and I can't imagine my days without her either. I wasn't following Nancy so off to check her out. I would call YOU energetic! :-) Have a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Do you kow what? I've seen LOADS of Old Kitty's comments around the blogosphere, but I've never actually visited or followed her blog. So thanks for the link! I'm about to fix this problem :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. Nancy and Old Kitty have provided consistent bursts of energy and support for a while. Good picks, as is that first manly photo. Thank you, Alex. Smile.

    xoRobyn

    ReplyDelete
  90. I haven't heard of Kvelertak before. And although I skipped out on this month's IWSG, I plan to jump back in next month.

Off to make sure I follow those bloggers. :)

    ReplyDelete
  91. Those two words could also define you, Alex.

I'll check out the two blogs but I've seen both Nancy and Old Kitty on many of the blogs I frequent.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Nancy I know. I'll have to check out Kitty.

I like punk. I'll have to check Kvelertak out.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Rekha, I know I can always count on you.

    Ella, go see it then!

Roland, trying not to kill myself...

    Pat, I wish!

    Golden, you'll like it.

Sara, I'd need at least ten right now...

    Rachel, go then!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Old Kitty and Nancy are truly inspirational choices. And, surprise, I've heard of Kvelertak - from a Swedish friend. Kevelar is a take on a combat helmet. Works!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Old Kitty rocks! She's truly a joyful presence! Great choice :)

    ReplyDelete
  96. What a cool blog name Kitty chose. I'm off to check it out!
If you had to select a man shot, that one's a pretty darn good one.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Yay! for the challenge and leading me to this blog. I'm an unofficial participant (didn't hear about the sign up until it was closed), but it's still an adventure filled with surprises, like this blog.

I'll definitely add you to my small but growing list of followed blogs.

    way to go mr host!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Great post Alex! I've never heard of Kvelertak . . .and I doubt my 100% Norwegian father-in-law has either - he likes jazz and broadway classics.
I may have to look them up just for him.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Hee - man shot - I love it! I've never heard of Kvelertak - I'll have to look them up. Hmm, who do I think of when I think of energetic and enthusiastic? Even though I've only recently found your blog, I'd have to say YOU are one of the first people who pops into my mind!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I love Nancy's blog! I'll have to check out Kitty's, too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  109. I am not following Kitty or Nancy but will check them out! Love that you are doing this on the challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Alex I forgot to mention that my high energy band recently is the Danish rock group Volbeat. Man do they jam! Check em out:

    ReplyDelete
  111. I know both of the bloggers you've highlighted. Thanks for the picture. :)

    ReplyDelete
  113. I'm on my way to check out the two blogs. Thanks for the info! :D

    ReplyDelete
  114. I love Nancy! I'm glad you spotlighted her. :)

    Now I will visit Kitty.
