Pop Culture Gone Wild!

Thought we’d do something to kick-start those brain cells.

It’s time for some pop culture trivia!

Come on – it will be fun. Bet you know at least one answer. Everything focuses on the 80’s and 90’s.

Speaking of 80’s, Nicki Elson is hosting a blogfest on February 10 – I’ll Tumble 4 Ya – name your 80’s crush. (And I’ll tell you right now, it was NOT the Culture Club!!!!)

And we are looking for guest posts from past and coming participants over at the A to Z Challenge blog. Contact Lee or any of the co-hosts if you are interested.

Now, on to the trivia!

Movies

Quote – name the movie: “Three weeks, twenty papers, that’s two dollars.”

What now famous actor was killed in his bed in A Nightmare on Elm Street? (1984)

What actress appeared in Less Than Zero, Twister, and The Lost Boys?

In True Romance, who plays Christian Slater’s vision of Elvis?

Quote – name the movie: “You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?”

Music

What famous guitarist for Ozzy was killed March 1982?

Where did the band White Zombie get its name?

Milton Berle was in two of Ratt’s music videos – what was the connection?

What album spent a record-setting 778 weeks on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart?

Who was the hot blonde in the video for the Grammy winning song, Rosanna, by Toto?

TV

Before it was a hit series, The Simpsons debuted as a short skit on what FOX show?

Which actress replaced Shelly Long when she left Cheers?

What award-winning two hour show parodied other movies from 1988 to 1999?

Director Michael Mann produced what TV series? (He later directed the film version.)

What actor was on Saturday Night Live, hosted two TV shows, did Monday Night Football, and even hosted a game show?

Bonus Game question!

What is the best-selling game console ever?

Give me your best answers! Winner gets the right to strut his or her pop culture geekness for a week. Runner up gets… a warm, fuzzy feeling.

  1. Oh man, I only knew a total of three answers. In my defence, I'm pretty sure some of them would be easier for your American readers to answer. That's my excuse, anyway :-)

    ReplyDelete
  2. I'm going with Sarah on this one. I should be all over the 80's/90's era. Could do real damage to the self confidence - so I'll go with a lack of information/experience versus the ignorance/poor memory option. Karma chameleonically yours.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I'm rubbish. I only knew 2 answers.

    ReplyDelete
  4. ERm.. TV:

    1) Tracey Ullman Show
    2) Oooh I know this one! Rebecca - Diane was replaced by Rebecca! LOL! I can't remember her name - KIRSTY ALLEY!! Phew!

    and that's all folks!

LOL! hey it's MONDAY!! Brain (all one cell of it) is still lost in the weekend!

    Take care

  8. I only knew one. LOL - I would love to use Sarah's excuse as I don't live in the US, but I did live there in the 80s and 90s.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I should know these answers. I in awe of Mock if he got these off the top of his head.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I was only 100% positive on 2 answers. I spent the 80s and early 90s under a rock suffering from amnesia.(And who could blame me? The awful hair, the shoulder pads and stirrup pants...*shudders*)

    ReplyDelete
  13. These are harder than I thought they would be! 80's - I don't think I watched tv (we only had 2 channels anyways where I was), 90's - I blame it on the long days and nights I spent studying :D

    ReplyDelete
  14. TV was my best friend growing up (I turned 10 in 1980) and movies my friends in college (obviously hitting 20 in1990).

Beyond Top 40 and the Beatles, music wasn't much of a factor...so, those questions were harded...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Pulp Fiction and Kirsty Allie. I feel knowledge-less :-(

    ReplyDelete
  16. I read this (before I got to the questions, mind) and thought, "Oh, I am SO gonna OWN this!"

Yeah. I think I knew a total of 2? Maybe 3? By the time I got to, "Ooh! Rosanna Arquette! That's Rosanna Arquette!" I had already decided I needed a major brush-up on my 80's & 90's.

    Great post, Alex! :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Sarah, I'll buy that excuse.

Accidental, too early in the morning?

    Kitty, you knew two though!

    Nick, that's a good excuse.

Rhonda, you just had to know one.

Mock, very good! And you just saw that movie this past weekend??? I could recite the whole movie to you I've seen it so many times.

Cate, now she's married to Richard Marx.

Lisa, now that's stuff I tried to forget.

    AnnaLisa, you got two!

  20. I feel rusty. Eek. And this is such a fun thing! I love trivia (but I'm TERRIBLE at it)!

Hmm, best-selling console, is it Playstation? (It's the one we own, lol).

    ReplyDelete
  21. You will have to go back another decade or two for me to know the answers...was too busy during that time to notice.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Now who doesn't remember Better Off Dead or Mystery Science Theater 3000?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Dude, I failed most of those questions. I seriously doubt even Google could've saved my game at this point!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I know the first one (Better Off Dead), but it's downhill from there.

Less Than Zero, Twister, and The Lost Boys? Arg. I can picture her face, but don't know her name.

Replacement for Shelly Long: Kirsty Ally.

Well, it's better than I expected from myself ;)

    ReplyDelete
  25. ask me about the late fifties and sixties and I'm well away. eighties and nineties unless it's to do with DANIEL I haven't got a clue,
Just taking a rest to sort my family out, one of my followers has ordered and recieved my book.

    Yvonne.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This was a toughie but fun! And I usually pride myself on my 80s memories, lol. The only answer I knew for sure was Kirstie Ally replacing Shelly Long - Cheers was a must watch show during my college years. I'll guess Michael Jackson's, "Thriller," as album to stay on the charts for 778 weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I answered every one... I am a total nerd, cause I got them all correct. Either I have to get out more or go on a game show.... Thank you Alex... the Chuck Norris of Chuck Norris's...

    Jeremy

    ReplyDelete
  28. Dude. I can't answer even one of those. I even think of myself as a movie buff. Guess not.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Rusty, you knew most - but not The Wall! Think older Floyd.

    Teresa, that was three!

Jen, you are the first to get that right - and it was PS2.

Jeffrey, and you are such an 80's music buff!

InLuv, you got those right though!

Suzie, yes to the first, way off on the second.

Jeremy, I expected nothing less from you.

    Man O Clay, sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Dear Lord, I need to brush up on my Pop Trivia!

  31. Great quiz, Alex. That's why I only know the same two TV answers as Old Kitty. But I still like Boy George.
    Happy Monday.
    xoRobyn

    ReplyDelete

When it comes to music and TV, I totally suck.
I think I got the one for the Shelly Long, though, wasn't that Kirstie Alley?

PS. I tried to find a "contact me" space on the A-Z blog so I could reach a host per your message at the beginning of your post, but couldn't. I'm totally excited about this and would love to do a post. :) Just not sure how to reach anyone. :( Woot!!

Happy MONDAY!!! If you have the day off, I hope you enjoy it. :)

    5. Pulp Fiction

    ReplyDelete
  37. Lol usually I know most people's trivia answers, but this quiz has me stumped and it feels unfair to google. :-D

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh, dear. I only know Kirstie Ally. Where have I been all my life?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Since I don't know any of those answers I'm going to claim I was abducted by aliens during those years and experimented on so my memory was wiped clean and that's why I have no clue. It's totally not because I'm uncool. Nope it was the aliens.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm going to be hearing "Twooo dollars!" in my head all day.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think I got three right. Pretty sure that's an "F".

I must have dream-walked through the 80's, because I hardly remember anything. :(

    ReplyDelete
  42. Karen, yes - you got two!

Baygirl, you got most. Not Atari though.

    Leovi, no, wasn't MJ.

Lynn, I can help set you up with a post! And the movie you are thinking of was One Crazy Summer - but that's not the answer.

    Lurker, and you scored!

Laura, but I knew you'd get one.

Dafeenah, I'll accept your alien abduction story.

Kelly, and I bet it makes you smile every time.

    ReplyDelete
  43. About the only one I know, or think I know, is that JOhnny Depp was killed in Nightmare on Elm street.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm lousy at this trivia.

Movies: Only one I know is the last one--Pulp Fiction

Music --record-setting album? Dark Side of the Moon?

TV-- Tracy Ullman Show- I don't recall ever watching it, but I've heard that thing about the Simpsons many times.

Dennis Phillips is in my head for the last one, but I don't remember him being on SNL.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm a writer/contributor to CultureBrats.com because I am a master of all things 80 and 90s Pop Culture. So this is hardly fair!

    Movies
    1.Better Off Dead ("plus tip").
    2. Johnny Depp
3.The lovely Jami Gertz (loved her character on Seinfeld. She couldn't "spare a square").
    4.Val Kilmer

    Music
    1. Randy Rhoads
    2. Named after an old horror flick called White Zombie (the actor in it is mostly known for his iconic portrayal of Dracula)
    3. Love RATT! I think Milton Berle had a family member (nephew maybe)that was the band's manager.
    4. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon
5.Cynthia Rhodes (who played Penny in Dirty Dancing). She's married to Richard Marx, and she herself was a singer - she was in the reformed band Animotion. They had one hit "Room to Move"

    TV
    1. The Tracy Ullman Show
    2. Kirstie Alley
    3. Mystery Science Theatre 3000
    4. Miami Vice

Sheesh. I failed miserably. *slinks away, head down*

    ReplyDelete
  49. i only know about 3 answers...the rest i can picture but am too foggy to remember =|

    movie, pulp fiction
    music, white zombie drink? thriller?
tv, in living color, kirstie alley
    playstation

    fun fun!

    ReplyDelete
  50. It's so sad that I don't know these. I lived through the eighties. However, I was young. That's my excuse.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Melissa, Better Off Dead was a classic. Love that show!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh, I know some of these but not all of them.

My friend John Sellers wrote a book called the PCAT--the Pop Culture Aptitude Test. It was hilarious!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I actually knew most of these! I didn't even cheat and look them up. :) *pats young self on the back*

    ReplyDelete
  54. Charles, you are correct!

Lee, you got three - and figured you'd know the music one.

Stephen, Rhodes is right, Jennifer Grey is not!

Melissa, you tripped up on the music, but nailed the others.

Jay, you the man! Now what was the gaming console?

Robyn and Tara, you got a few of them.

    Clarissa, sadly I wasn't!

Lydia, I need to read that.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I should know all these answers, but I only know a few. I see your Karma/triber on the side bar. I'm there too. I'm not sure what to do with it. LOL You need to explain that in a future blog post. :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. LOL! Thanks for the chuckle: name your 80’s crush. (And I’ll tell you right now, it was NOT the Culture Club!!!!)

I loved 'The Love Cats' by The Cure and 'Gold' by Spandau Ballet, but I was primarily a Queen fan.
Have no idea about the other questions, so I feel quite the pop culture dunce!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I used to be pretty good at trivia, but you stomped me on most of them. This brings back memories of when the claws would come out during Trivial Pursuit! Julie

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sadly, I kept having that tip of brain feeling on all but three of these, that "oh, I know that one, but whats-his-name again?" feeling. For the answers I did get:Better Off Dead for the movie quote.
Johnny Depp was in Nightmare on Elm Street.
    Kirsty Alley on Cheers.
The "I Want My Two Dollars" quote is something of a husband-wife joke around my household - our kids don't get it, and most of our family and friends don't but we laugh over that line together frequently.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Whoo hoo! I knew 4! =P I sucked at the music, but oh well. TWO DOLLARS! bahaha...I love Cusack...so much.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I normally consider myself pretty well versed in the realm of pop culture but you have proven otherwise.

    Movies:

Johnny Depp was in Nightmare on Elm Street. Is the actress Jami Gertz? The quarter pounder with cheese quotes comes from Pulp Fiction.

    Music:

    Yeah. I've got nothing.

    TV:

    Kirstie Alley replaced Shelly Long.

I think Michael Mann might have produced Miami Vice.

    Bonus question:

    I'm going to guess Nintendo?

    ReplyDelete
  61. I only knew three off the top of my head.

PS there is a link problem to the A-Z Blog.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Oh GAK! I was busy working with emotionally disturbed kids during the '80s. No TV, very little of anything else. The only one I think I know is...wasn't it Kristie Alley who took over when Shelly Long left?

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm achingly bad at pop culture trivia. The only one I knew was the Pulp Fiction reference.

    ReplyDelete
  64. 1. Better off Dead
    2. Uh...
    3. Jamie Gertz?
    4. Dang I don't remember anything about that movie.
    5. Pulp Fiction. :) "Royale with cheese"
    6. I'll take a pass
    7. From zombies that were white.
    8. He's someone's grandpa?
    9. Wham! (haha)
    10. Kim Cattral?

Oh boy, I did really bad, didn't I? Ah well, it was fun anyhow. THANK YOU for mentioning my blogfest - you are amazingly thoughtful and kind. :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. This was fun, Alex!

    Movies:
    1-?
    2-Johnny Depp
    3-Jamie Gertz
    4-?
    5-Pulp Fiction
    Music:
No clue on any of them...:(
    TV:
    1-In Living Color???
    2-Kirsty Ally
    3-?
    4-?
    5-?
    Bonuse Question:
    Wii???

Had to guess on some and others I was stumped. Can't wait to find out the answers!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Ciara, I have no idea what to do!!

    Madeleine, I don't think you're a dunce.

Tyrean, we joke about that line as well. My wife and I both spout movie lines at each other on a regular basis.

MJ, you got all but the last one.

Southpaw, thanks for pointing that out. That link always messes up.

    Bish, you got one!

Nicki, you should've had all of them. Turn in your 80's badge.

Jamie, you got a couple right!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Well, I'm terrible at pop culture. I only know a few answers: Johnny Depp was on Nightmare on Elm Street, Kristie Alley replaced Shelly Long, and Michael Mann produced Miami vice. Boy that worked the brain cells.

  68. Samuel L. did the quote for Tarrentino's Pulp Fiction.

mmm...the two dollars thing is from a John Cusack movie where he skis. I just can't remember the name. Oh "Better off dead" that's it.

Actor that was killed...Johnny Depp I believe?

I thought White Zombie was named after Rob Zombie.

The actress that replaced Shelly Long was the one that did Fat Actress and is John Travolta's friend. Kirstie Alley? That might be her name.

Dennis Miller is the guy from SNL

Going with Nintendo for the best game console thing.

    That's all I could get.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I know one! Shelly Long was replaced by Kirstie Alley. Yay! I was beginning to feel like a total looser.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I know about 80% of these answers, but since I'm in the dentists chair getting my tooth drilled while I read my favorite blogs - I will leave it at that!

    ReplyDelete
  71. True Romance is one of my all time favorite movies.

    "What's a Drexel?"

    ReplyDelete
  72. Okay, I have no clue.

This is where I can say I am having a "blonde moment" and get away with it!

    Right?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Oh, I meant to say Dennis Miller--I listen to him on the radio sometimes. Dennis Phillips is the name of a magician whom I know.

    Lee

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'm in a state of disbelief that Better Off Dead is not more well known. My best friend from high school and I spent about a year watching that -every- weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Mason, you got three!

Michael, not Nintendo. And you would think White Zombie was named after Rob, but it wasn't.

Christopher, that would be too easy!

Heather, I believe you. And sucks you're at the dentist.

    Single, I'll take that answer!

    No you got it, Lee.

Andrew, Better Off Dead is a classic. An accurate representation of being a teen in the 80's.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Pulp Fiction
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon
    Kirstie Alley
    You guess the questions :)

    Happy Monday!

    ReplyDelete
  77. ROFL - Great fun. Thanks for letting relive the 80's. "I want my two dollars." (my added quote) Say anthing.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Um, got any question for us old folks? 60's would be good, but I could probably handle 50's and 70's, too.

I did know Kirstie Alley replaced Shelly Long, but I think everyone had that one..

    ReplyDelete
  79. Carol, very good!

RaShelle, close, but wrong Cusack movie.

    LD, you still got one!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Good gracious. I'm dead in the water. I can picture Shelly's replacement in Cheers, but can't think of her name. And that was the only one I came even close to naming!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I got TWO! Ozzy Osbourn and Kristie Alley. Do I win a major prize? A pat on the back? A go directly to jail; do not pass go card? Something? I'll settle for a small degree of self-satisfaction.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Oh m an, those are hard! The Cheers one is Kirsty Ally (or however you spell her name). Gosh I don't think I know any others! I thought the tv show that parodied other movies was Mystery Science Theatre, but I think that may have been later than 88-99...good questions, Alex!! I want to say Nintendo is the best selling game console but honestly I have no idea...I only say that because your questions are about 80s/90's stuff ;p

    ReplyDelete
  83. Damn, those are some hard questions. I'll throw in the towel right now :( Though (I think) I know that White Zombie was named after a 1930s horror movie about traditional, Voodoo induced zombies that were used as slaves.

I'd be up for doing an A-Z guest post if you guys need an extra pair of hands on board.

    ReplyDelete
  84. This is why I'm so bad at this kind of thing. Entertainment history, news and the names of artists never stick in my head.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Oh I don't know most of these.. I'm pretty sure it was Johnny Depp for the first question:)

    ReplyDelete
  86. I don't know any of the movies. How terrible.

The music--the second last one I'll guess Michael Jackson.

The last one I acutally know-Rosanna Arquette.

TV-The Simpsons originally aired on the Tracy Ullman show. Shelly Long was replaced by Kirsten Alley.

For the bonus I'll guess Nintendo.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Wow, I really need to brush up on my pop culture.

    ReplyDelete
  88. You going to post the answers at some future date? I'm clueless but curious. =D

    ReplyDelete
  89. Lee, you may have the warm fuzzy feeling!

Abby, you got the MST3K one right - so few have.

    Jamie, awesome!

Mary, she was the inspiration for the song, but not the one who danced in the video.

Donna, I will post the answers on Wednesday!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Oh, my word, the only thing I might possibly know is the Nightmare on Elm Street question (which I regret EVER WATCHING, EVER!!!), and I don't know the answer anyway, but I'll randomly guess Robert Downey Jr. And the best-selling game console EVER? Shoot. I'm guessing ATARI?

    ReplyDelete
  91. I only had two answers in the TV category. Pretty bad, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Seven. I watched too much MTV in the 80's.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I ran on empty on those questions, Alex. My mind is filled with trivia that no one knows or cares about. Sherlock Holmes would say my not knowing means that with the absence of those facts there is more room for me to keep the facts that amuse and are needful. He, for example, did not know how many planets revolved around the sun.

Have a great new week, Roland

    ReplyDelete
  94. Heather, no, but I will post the answers on Wednesday.

    Helena, better than none!

    Tonja, you and me both!

Roland, and I'm just a storehouse for a plethora of useless pop culture knowledge!

    ReplyDelete
  95. I stink at pop culture. Seriously! I only know 2 answers for sure.. so sad!

And we don't even own a game console ... although my son once had a PS2 for a while. Does that count? :)

    ReplyDelete
  96. I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing that I knew way too many of those answers! :)

    ReplyDelete
  97. Well, I managed to get two right. Then I asked my wife to play along. Silly me. She puts me to shame every time we play a trivia game.

Fun post, Alex! (Can we get multiple-choice answers next time, please?) :)

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think I knew one answer...and I might be wrong. Kirsty Ally replaced Shelley long on Cheers. That's about it.

    Such a wipeout!

    ReplyDelete
  99. CRUD, not Atari? Must be Nintendo? Now I'm going to cheat and look it up.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I'm guilty of not knowing the answers to even half of those questions. I hang my head in shame. I want to tag in my husband who is much better at trivia than me, but he's in the other room tapping away on his laptop!

I watched Cowboys & Aliens on the weekend. Good flick!

    ReplyDelete
  101. Jemi, it does when that's the answer!

    DL, we'll say it's a good thing.

Bryce, it would be too easy!

Angela, at least you knew one!

    Heather, neither.

Christine, it's just a fun movie.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I got 4 for sure, but was the last TV one Dinnis Miller? I just can't imagine him hosting a game show, though he's got bills to pay, just like the rest of us.

    ReplyDelete
  103. My mind is slow. I can't even remember the name of the actress that replaced Shelly Long and I know her. Crush of the 80s, Michael Jackson :) But this is fun, you should do more of this :)

    ReplyDelete
  104. You know that stuff is right up my alley, right? I know crap little else, but I do know my trivia...

I can't resist doing at least one though... Royale with Cheese.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Great trivia questions. The first movie question stumped me. I knew the others. It's no small feat to stump my movie trivia knowledge (w/o the aid of google, which I'm sure some folks used :).

    ReplyDelete
  106. Oh, but what was Christian Slater's first movie? It was Star Trek VI.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Oh god, I knew far too many answers. I guess it is okay, i was an 80's teenager. I cannot think of the girls name from Less Thank Zero, Twister etc., but I can hear her voice as clear as day right now in my head. She has a very distinct voice. Oh, and for the game console. It has to be Atari. Am I right?

    ReplyDelete
  108. Will, he did indeed host a game show!

    Oceangirl, I think I will.

MsMariah, the first one is a classic.

    Mark, very good.

    Melissa, not Atari.

    ReplyDelete
  109. LOL Did you get a trivia book as a holiday gift? I know none of these. Guess I'm a different kind of nerd.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Let's see...

Johnny Depp was killed in Nightmare on Elm Street. Jami Gertz appeared in Twister, etc., Quarter Pounder quote is from Pulp Fiction.

I'm gonna guess Rosanna Arquette was the hot blond in Rosanna, but I'm sure that's wrong. Kirstie Ally replace Shelly Long.

Those are all my guesses - pretty sad when I was a teenager in the 80s and should know all of these!

    ReplyDelete
  111. Movies
1 - "Better Off Dead" - Classic Cusack.
    2 - Johnny Depp
3 - Jami Gertz (also from "Still Standing" with the amazingly under-appreciated Mark Addy)
    4 - Val Kilmer?
    5 - Pulp Fiction

    Music
I don't have a clue on any of these, unless I cheat.

    TV
1 - The Tracey Ullman Show
2 - I'll assume it was Kirstie Alley, unless there was someone else that came in as a replacement between the two.
3 - MST3K is the only thing I can think of.
    4 - MIAMI VICE...ahem...sorry about that.
5 - ??? At least two of those I don't ever pay attention to. I'll let you figure out which.

Bonus - That would be the glorious PS2. The Xbox360 might be the fastest to reach certain benchmarks, but the PS2 has it be by more than 2 times (and I only know those because of the research I did for my tech post on December 27).

    ReplyDelete
  112. Movies - 5/5
    Music - 0/5
    TV - 5/5

Typical. I love music, but only pay attention to the melodies and the lyrics, not the trivia. (And rarely the lyrics.) But I loves me some movie trivia.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Tough one. I can only answer three of the questions without google.
    * Simpsons? The underrated "The Tracy Ullman show"
    * Cheers? A much thinner Kirstie Alley
    * I'll guess at the Nintendo 64.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Mary, no, but I do play a lot of trivia games.

Susan, the song was about Arquette, but she wasn't the dancer. You got the others though.

Joshua, correct on all guesses! No one is getting the gaming one right.

Nate, we should play some time!

    Maurice, not the Nintendo 64.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Well...now I'm really confused, unless I'm misunderstanding your response (which is highly probable because I'm exhausted and brain-fried right now). I know the DS is set to surpass the PS2 later this year, but the PS2 has over 153 million units sold.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I'm shocked on the console answer! I looked it up. WOAH, just shocked. Although I do have one of those illustrious consoles myself.

    ReplyDelete
  117. darn it. late to the game. I know the tv ones, but some of the others are really hard without looking up.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Greta trivia..wish I knew the answers. I was born in the 80's and everyone I knew who grew up with me always fondly described the 80's with the same word..."confusing." ;)

    ReplyDelete
  119. I think I knew a whole two answers! it was so hard resisting the temptation to Google them :-)

    ReplyDelete
  120. Pop culture is not my strong point. It might be my weakest. Do I get points for being the least knowledgeable person when it comes to pop culture? I should!

    ReplyDelete
  121. The console may be the best-selling Nintendo DS.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Hi Alex - okay - here's the thing... I don't know any of the answers... I'm officially rubbish!
still wanted to say hi :)
    Hehehe...
    Lx

    ReplyDelete
  123. I knew the Shelly Long/Kirstie Alley answer...but that's all. I'm so depressed...

    ReplyDelete
  124. No, you got it, Joshua. Just so few have gotten that one right.

    Heather, as do I!

    Budd, no cheating.

Mark, I would call the 80's 'cheesy' myself.

    Sangu, answers tomorrow!

Nisa, do you mind a tie for that title?

    Hi Laura!

    Patricia, don't be depressed.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Johnnny Depp! For all of 'em! oh wait Kristie Allie for all of 'em.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I knew only two answers, and I am too embarrassed to list the answers for fear I would be wrong.
    I am not old.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I'm amazed at how many of these I knew. Man, that really makes me feel old, Alex. Thanks! I was such a headbanger back in the 80's. Big hair and all. Not good with the video game stuff though. I never was into them. But music, TV, (books,) and movies, oh yeah!

    That was fun!!

    ReplyDelete
  128. Pulp fiction. Its funny but for some reason I remember Vincent? and 'Le Big Mac'

    ReplyDelete
  129. You lose your bet - I don't know any of this stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Copyboy, which is it man????

    Nancy, you rocker chick!

    Patsy, I'm sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Okay, so I suck at this pop culture even though I was born in the 80s. The only answer I knew was the Pulp Fiction one... but I get extra points because Q.T. movies are awesome, right??

    ReplyDelete
  132. I suck at all things trivia. My mind draws a blank. Now, my hubby is really good at this stuff. He should have gone on a game show and won us some moola! This is fun even though I'm clueless!

    ReplyDelete
  133. I'm so bad at this. Even if I know a movie or song, I can't remember the titles, or names etc. Argh. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  134. Alexia, yes you do!

Lynn, I usually beat my wife at trivia games as well.

    Angela, sorry!!

    ReplyDelete
  135. oh my gosh, i only know the cheers answer: kirstie alley. right? christy

    ReplyDelete
  136. Dang. Forgot about the Bonus Question!

I think it's either going to be the Playstation2 or Nintendo DS. I will go with Nintendo DS with all the Christmas sales racking up!

    That's my best guess.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Bonus question...Atari 7800! My crush was George Michael :-) Just saying. I think I got about 4 of the answers. And it was Randy Rhodes, I've been to his grave about 3 times, met his mom, brother and sister. Wonderful people.
