You Rock! And News...

Today I am visiting the awesome and beautiful Elizabeth Mueller, talking about brainstorming the second book. So, if anyone else out there has written one story and now you’re beginning to panic about a sequel or follow-up, head on over. Hopefully I don’t mess you up even worse.

But wait – there’s more!

Big thanks again to those who left such awesome comments for those participating in the Insecure Writer’s Support Group. I appreciate everyone’s efforts. You guys rock!

And I got some news on the book trailer my publisher is creating for CassaFire – and I’m so stoked! Another animated piece, but - no words to read this time. You get to hear Byron speak! Damn, I can’t wait…

And, in one week, it’s the Worst Movies Ever Blogfest! Spread the word. If the insecurity of last Wednesday didn’t take down the internet, then we need to try again with an onslaught of crappy movies. Sign up below!

Any other questions about the Insecure Writer’s Support Group? Did you makes some new friends? What about the blogfest? Have you signed up? Why not?! Can’t tell me there aren’t a slew of bad movies out there…

Crap, I can’t wait to see my book trailer…

All right, go see Elizabeth now and tell her she’s one beautiful lady!

  1. Good morning. Byron speaking...that would send chills down my spine. The Insecurity Group rocks...except I'm insecure more than once a month...not sure I can save it all up till then. It's nice to know there are plenty of others that question themselves as much as I do. Yup, signed up for the movie thing already. :)

  32. Congrats on your trailer, Alex! Can't wait to see it. I want to note how perfect your timing is with the post on Elizabeth's blog. That's exactly where I am now and I'm having trouble getting started. I don't think I can do a sequel to a psychological thriller so I'm starting a totally original story from scratch. Trouble is, the first time around, I had a muse. He inspired every facet of my story. I don't have that this time. And what's worse, my old muse just died. He was a real person, a young man, and now he's gone. I'm so heartbroken, I don't know if I can write again.

  51. I think writing a second part is more difficult than writing the first, especially if the first was very good. Readers create their own expectations from the perspective of the first and they may feel very disappointed or just the opposite. In Spain there is a proverb that says sequels were never good. But that's not true, as we have many examples in literature and film, where the second, third, ... consequences are overcome and enlarging the work.

  52. holy crap. I have to say, i am SUPER EFFING stoked that we get to hear Byron speak. For reals, i can't wait to see it.

    Susan, I hope it's cool.

    Elizabeth, Ninjas can do that...

    Ciara, that's all right.

Robyn, not mine! Maybe it really is Byron...

Leovi, that's why I was so stressed when writing the second one.

    Sarah, glad you're stoked!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm pretty worried about what movies everyone thinks are awful...They are probably my favorites. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  63. I really want to sign up for this, but I'm afraid what I consider to be a bad movie isn't that bad. I'm a rom-com fan, so my choice won't be very entertaining. (Who wants to hear me rant about why I think a rom-com bombed at the box office?) I going to think on this some more...

    ReplyDelete
  64. Congrats Alex,

I'm really excited to see it and I am thrilled for you. Keep up that positive energy... we all feed on it!

    Off to see Elizabeth.

  65. The trailer for CassaStar was so awesome that I know CassaFire's will be great. When I read the novel, every time Byron or Bassa got into the Cosbolt I saw the launch in my mind. Way cool.

I will go read the interview after I leave here. I should be revising, but I need a break.

I haven't signed up for the blogfest; Dude, I'm so far behind on everything. I just can't think on one more thing. Hey, but I know it will be a success, and many of my blog friends are participating so I'll show up for support anyway.

  81. Just read your post over at Elizabeth's. A day late of course, LOL. I am penning a sequel right now and it's because I'm one to tinker. HEA's just don't cut it. You get one, but what do you do with it? My MC is about to find out keeping an HEA is harder than getting one.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Pat, I can't either!

Susan, please join us for the support group.

  90. Looking forward to hearing Byron speak. Are you doing the voice over? James Earl Jones maybe? Very cool.

And my Worst Movies Ever List is complete, although I keep thinking of new ones, so I may have to make adjustments. So many bad movies. Ugh!

  91. Looking forward to participating in the blogfest! As I mentioned before, I'll be doing Worst Horror Movies.

One question from someone who has never done a blogfest before. I plan on visiting all the participants but I don't see a list anywhere. Is there a web ring we're going to be setting up? If so, I want to be on it!

    See you on the 19th. . .

    ReplyDelete
  92. I swear that list wasn't there when I posted my last comment. Am I going insane or did you post that later, Alex? I think a mad scientist stole my brain. . .
