A to Z Challenge - P - and SyFy's Latest!

For the A to Z Challenge, I am featuring some awesome bloggers. These individuals have offered so much support of my book, CassaStar, and me on my blogger journey. Of course, I’ll be keeping up with the world of movies, music, and pop culture stuff as well! Ninjas are just talented that way...

Patrick Tillett
Patrick is an accomplished photographer and poet, and often combines those two talents in his blog posts. He’s a very devoted blogger and commenter, and his reflective words will cause you to think. You rock, dude!

PK is a fellow writer and international airline agent. I’m sure her profession feeds her ideas for cool characters! She posts informative writing tips and I always learn something from PK. She’s a super gal so go say hello!

SyFy just announced their summer lineup HERE. On July 11, this science fiction geek will revel in a whole night of science fiction series! It kicks of with my favorite, Eureka, then it’s Warehouse 13, followed by the debut of a new series, Alphas.

And following their tradition of Saturday night craptastic flicks, they announced this gem for June 25 – Swamp Shark, staring Kristy Swanson and D.B. Sweeny. Mutant sharks in the Louisiana Bayous!

Yes, Swamp Shark has ‘sucks’ written all over it, but I’m willing to sacrifice my sanity and a couple hours of my life to do another play by play for my blogging friends. You can thank me by supplying Hot Tamales. Drinks might be needed as well…

  1. Will supply the drinks with pleasure.

  2. I love the SyFy Saturday night movies. They're so bad, they're awesome. Swamp Shark has 'drinking game' written all over it.

  3. Alex, I love your play-by-play reviews. They're as sarcastic, as they're hilarious :)

    Thanks for the "P"-links :)

  11. Patrick and Pk are both awesome bloggers! And Swamp Shark, huh? Yeah, be sure you're stocked up on margarita ingredients. I have LOVED me some crappy films, under the influence!

  12. See - we're all about the Pimms today, so if I get the drinks in, it's gonna be full of fruit and veg :)

  14. Ooh Swamp Shark. I feel a mindless evening of TV viewing coming on. Bless Syfy. lol.

  17. I'm on a roll with terrible movies this week. Swamp Shark may actually be an upgrade.

    ReplyDelete
  18. i mean, at least swamp sharks makes a little bit of sense. Bull Sharks can actually live in brackish water, so, you know, at least we're not talking about sharkigators or something.

  19. I know these people. Just stopped by Patrick Tillet's blog earlier. Haven't been to SyFy's site in a while. I'll stop by and say hello.

And looking forward to Swamp Shark. That's gooooood entertainment.

  20. Kitty, we'll have to throw a party!

Nicole, that's the only way to watch them.

    Laura, that works for me.

Ocean Girl, no it's not one of SyFy's crappy movies.

    Thank you Marvin!

    Beer, that's not good.

Sarah, you know there will be a weird twist somewhere...

Stephen, tell SyFy to stop airing sucky movies while you're there.

  21. Thanks so much Alex! I appreciate it...

Just the words "Swamp Shark" make me think this movie might even be worse than Anaconda!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Pat is awesome in his own way....
After jaws , I don't think I can stomach sharks even languid ones. :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love Eureka! Warehouse 13 is also another fave. You know I'm going to be watching Swamp Shark with all the attentiveness any award-winning drinking game film deserves. ;)

  24. SOunds like a great summer lineup. Thanks for the heads up.

  29. I will have to check it out; I'm sure my son knows about this already!

Success, I found where he hid your book; I mean his book...my book, lol. I have to finish a friend's book, (I went to high school with) and then yours is next! I'll bring more Hot Tamales...never enough~

    ReplyDelete
  30. Pat, you're welcome - and I bet you're right!

Melissa, then we both need to review it in our own, unique styles. May we both be sober enough by the end of the movie to do so!

Betty, I'll apply some Ninja pressure...

    Ella, glad you found it!!

  31. SyFy channel, I can only dream. Thanks for all the great links you post everyday. I may not always say it, but I do come and check everyday.

  32. Alex-

    ScyFy does air some stinkers.

I was haveing trouble sleeping a few weeks back and they had a movie on with giant snakes and alligators.

The only redeeming feature in the movie were the shots of the female leads running in their skimpy tops.

And I don't mean that as a sexist observation-it really was the only redeeming feature!

And don't get me started on their Highlander film...

  33. Swamp Shark with Kristi Swanson and DB Sweeney?? Sign me up! I love Syfy's awful movies!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Swamp Shark has family movie night written all over it. Thanks for the tip off.

    Lucy

  35. Swamp...Shark? I can't wait to hear their explaination of how a shark could breath in all that muck. I love SyFy channel movies. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thanks, Siv!

Larry, I don't find it sexist, because I'm sure it's true!

Karen, it promises to be a stinker.

Lucy, do you like your family? Just kidding!

Maurice, even with an explanation it will make no sense...

  37. Ooh, I don't know Patrick yet. Off to check him out.

  38. On July 11, this household will be very happily watching the Sci-Fy channel. You named all the ones we geeky people enjoy. My husband can watch the Swamp Shark, even tho it has Sweeney in it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. SyFy did so many bad movies for a while that I really kind of tuned them completely out. I hardly ever watch the channel anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I am so glad I found your blog. I might actually get caught up on what the latest movies/tv series/music is while it is actually still popular and not five years out of date.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Patrick Tillett rules! Way better than Swamp Sharks is going to be.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm of the opinion that ANY sci-fi is entertaining, whether it's so horridly bad one can collect dumb quotes and throw things at the TV. (One of my favorites in this category has to be Tremors) or so mind-blowing that your entire view of life, the universe, and everything is turned on its head (that would be The Matrix. Freaked my 13 year-old out so much he had to turn it off and watch it a year later. And this is the boy who lives, eats and breathes Terminator, not exactly a tame movie. But coincidentally my favorite of all time. Can't wait to read CassaStar. Am 47% on The Hating Game and you're next. Love my Kindle...

  43. Craptastic flicks! Ha! Love that term. :)

    Thanks for the links!

    ReplyDelete
  44. maybe swamp shark will be another sharktopus. How cool would that be? hhehehe

  46. Susan, your household is geeky cool then!

    Milo, that's right!

Charles, I watch the series and only risk the movies when I know they're bad enough to share with everyone else.

Dafeenah, be sure to check back tomorrow then!

Tina, thanks!! And I actually liked Tremors...

Elizabeth, feel free to use that term to amaze your family and friends!

    Lynda, cool for you guys!

Lee, come on! Suffer with the rest of us.

  47. I've recently heard that SyFy is so much better than our Canadian version, "Space," but we do get some good shows like Eureka, and all the Star Trek and Stargate franchises during the day. Good luck with your sharks...

    ReplyDelete
  48. Eureka! I've only just discovered this one thanks to my friend who is introducing me to other wonderful things, like Firefly. Er, he hasn't gotten around to those other two yet.

Have fun w/ Swamp Shark...I get the feeling we're all going to be hearing all 'bout that one, huh?

  49. Swamp Shark starring the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer sounds awesome!
