It arrived yesterday!
It says 'review copy' on the back, so it's not the finished product, but I don't care. I'm finally holding a copy of my book!
This book has been a dream and ambition of mine for so long. To finally hold CassaStar in my hands is indescribable. Never thought I'd see the day.
I guess my publisher's been sending out copies for pre-publication reviews. So happy they sent me one as well!
And I've been working on the sequel. First chapter is done. The outline needs a little more work, but I've got the ball rolling.
It would be so cool to see CassaStar as a graphic novel, too. I need to ask about that.
I was just excited and wanted to share the moment with everyone!

I can only imagine how exciting that must be for you. Congrats, Alex!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I can imagine how you felt holding it for the first time :) I feel the same whenever one of the books I've translated comes out and my publishing house sends me my copies. By the way, we always get those review copies from foreign publishers when we buy novels from them, and I always use them while translating since we often get the tittles before they are actually published in their own countries. I think those will be a collectible treasures some day :)
