I’m a guest at Parallels site on Wednesday. My topic - At the Heart of What If? (Post is live now!)
RiffTrax Live – Mothra
RiffTrax: Live put on another great show!
Japanese monster movies are just ripe for the picking, so there were lots of great lines.
And of course, the pre-movie show was just as good:
Between Two Fires and Inspiration
Thanks Alex for having me here! My debut novel Between Two Fires comes out tomorrow (August 23rd) with St. Martin’s Press, and I’m super excited to share it with all of you! It’s a medieval Welsh story of a young woman named Branwen who must marry a man she’s never met in order to save her people. I know what you’re thinking. Uh, why Mark are you writing a story about a sixteen-year-old girl set in medieval Wales? Bear with me.
I’ve always been inspired by strong heroines, both in fiction and in my own life. What really drew me to writing this story was also the fun of blending fantasy elements within a historical fiction framework, much like The Mists of Avalon, The Witch’s Daughter, and Wolfskin. I think I hit the mark square on the head with that one, because two of those bestselling authors have given me really positive quotes after reading my book (and well the first one’s no longer with us, so you can’t blame me for not getting her approval). Needless to say, the entire work was definitely a labor of love.
I’ve already got the sequel in the publisher’s hands, and have a book tour I’m kicking off for the next few months where I’ll be signing and talking about my novel in person. Thanks again Alex for having me on your site today, and to all you Ninjas out there keep reading and keep writing!
Saxon barbarians threaten to destroy medieval Wales. Lady Branwen becomes Wales’ last hope to unite their divided kingdoms when her father betroths her to a powerful Welsh warlord, the Hammer King…

Animated Firefly Trailer
My buddy Liz at Laws of Gravity featured this animated Firefly trailer last week, and it’s too cool not to share.
Here’s what Blastr had to say about it:
Artist Stephen Byrne has put together a teaser trailer for a Firefly animated series we really, really wish existed. The art looks great, and he does an awesome job of getting the look of the world and the characters just right. All your favorites are here, and there’s even a heartbreaking little cameo from Wash (R.I.P.). Byrne has been teasing looks at his little art project the past few years, but this is by far the most complete look he’s offered up yet.
Yeah, don’t you wish that was real…?
Have you been to a RiffTrax: Live show? What movie would you like to see them riff? What inspires your stories? Anyone chomping at the bit to know the theme for this year’s IWSG Anthology Contest? And would you watch an animated Firefly show?
Don’t forget to visit the Parallels site!
I will be on vacation Thursday through Sunday, so I’ll be responding to emails and replying to comments only those days.
I loved the qoutes, seeing the qoute from Lawrence of Arabia, brought back a memory that my son and kids took me to Where T.H. Lawrence lived not far from where I live. It was a tiny cottage. Thanks for the meory.
ReplyDeleteAs always a most informative post.
Yvonne.
I like the Trainspotting quote. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Mark on the release! I've heard St. Martin's is great to work with.
Enjoy your well-deserved vacation, Alex!
Congrats to Mark and everyone else with new releases. Loved the animated Firefly trailer. Glad Wash was included. Have a great time on your vacation, Alex.
ReplyDeleteThe Star Trek slide is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your vacation, Alex!
Love the quotes. Funny. Congratulations to Mark. The book sounds awesome. Best of luck with it.
ReplyDeleteHi, Alex!
ReplyDeleteI saw Mothra in the theater at the age of 12. By then I had seen dozens of similar similar genre films including Godzilla, The Giant Claw, The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, It Came from Beneath the Sea, 20 Million Miles to Earth and The Giant Behemoth - all of them based on true stories! :)
I love the Start Trek quote.
ReplyDeleteI pre ordered Roland's book and it downloaded last night.
Great quotes today. Congrats to Mark and all the authors releasing their books.
ReplyDeleteFun quotes. Have a good vacation, Alex. I hope that you spend most of it having fun with your wife and not answering e-mails.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a RIFFTrax show, but I went to the movies recently and they had an ad for it and I immediately thought of you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mark and best of luck on his book tour! I have a signing Saturday and I'm already nervous about it.
Congrats to Mark on his new release. How exciting!
ReplyDeleteGive us the new theme already!
Happy travels on the vacation. I just got back and am ready to go again!
Congrats to Mark on his new book! It sounds great! And congrats to all the new releases!
ReplyDeleteThe Star Trek quote made me laugh.
Looking forward to the big IWSG announcement!
Would I watch an animated Firefly series? Absolutely!
Enjoy your vacation!
I liked the Star Trek comment, took me a minute, but... I like the sound of Between Two Fires and also Dragons of the Barbary Coast. I like dragon stories. After all, I know they exist.
ReplyDeleteFun quotes indeed. Congrats to Mark. Would be great if that was real for sure. Although rather have live action, but animation works too.
ReplyDeleteYvonne, that's cool.
ReplyDeleteMason, that was a nice touch.
Shady - funny!
Natalie, I'll do my best.
Stephanie, you should go sometime.
Dean, two more weeks...
Pat, so would I. Think they are a little too old now though.
Congratulations to Mark for the new release -- we don't always write the kinds of books others would expect, and I think that's a good thing. Falling into a rut of "what's expected" would be a bit of a bore.
ReplyDeleteFirefly was such an amazing show. I'd love see this! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mark on his book - sounds great!
"The Mothman prophecies" was kind of creepy.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all our wonderful authors:)
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Alex!
Congratulations, Mark! The book looks really good.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely interested to see this year's IWSG theme. And an animated Firefly-you bet! That would be wonderful.
Congratulations to Roland, Joanne, and Juliana on their new releases! Thanks for sharing your inspirations, and congratulations on your debut novel, Mark! And thank you, Alex, for always supporting your IWSG members! The RiffTrax quotes were really funny. I could not watch Mothra ~ It would probably scare the heck out of me! Enjoy your vacation, Alex!
ReplyDeleteI love the Larry Quote and the Star Trek one. I am picturing Spock and Bones in one of those Bed and Bath places. Congrats to Mark and loving that period in history. As for Mothra----Love Mothra and those little singing gals that are always with Mothra. I miss those shows on TV. It's right up there with Attack of the Killer Shrews. I would love to see a quote on Gone With The Wind and Dr. Zhivago
ReplyDeleteThe quotes are fun. The Bed, Bath and ... made me laugh. :)
ReplyDeleteFun quotes. I'm looking forward to fall, the start of school, and a more scheduled time for writing, etc.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could put a picture in my comment. If I could, I'd challenge the notion that moths are not inherently scary. There was a giant moth clinging to my front door earlier this month. I took a picture of it and put it on Facebook, trying to identify it.
ReplyDeleteNobody could, but almost everybody suggested I move houses.
Because moth!
It was hideous.
Love the quotes Alex! These bring back memories of years before when the serials were running.Congrats Mark! A debut novel is such a powerful catalyst leading to more. Have a great vac Alex!
ReplyDeleteHank
That animated Firefly teaser was amazing!!
ReplyDeletethanks Alex for linking my new book. Much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteLove the movie quotes - Call me Larry is funny and the Star Trek Bed, Bath & is hilarious. Good stuff. Hope you enjoy your time off. Have a great week
Mark's book sounds wonderful and something I want to read! I think it's awesome that he's been inspired by strong heroines.
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely would watch an animated series of Firefly. I bet my hubby would too!
Fantastic quotes! And yes, the monster movies are the best for great riffing! I'm excited for Mark. I was lucky enough to win an ARC of his book, and it is incredible. I do wish that Firefly cartoon were real. Have a good vacation!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane, for buying my book. I loved the animated FIREFLY teaser. Best of sales, Mark! Enjoy your vacation, Alex!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to September's IWSG and all the anthology details. I might give it a shot this year....
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time off, Alex! :)
I'm not sure about the animated Firefly. I'd probably give it a try. I'm very excited about the newest anthology.
ReplyDeleteI like the one about Star Trek: Bed, Bath & Beyond :-) Alex - enjoy your time off and congrats to Mark on his book release (love your cover!).
ReplyDeleteCharles, good point.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Sandra!
Birgit, MST3K also riffed Attack of the Killer Shrews. Said the shrews were dogs with bathmats on their backs.
Dianne, I'd like to see that photo.
Joanne, you're welcome.
Madeline, I hope you do.
I hope you have a great vacation and manage to do some exciting things I'd be too afraid to do.
ReplyDeleteI never saw Mothra, but I did see a huge moth that got into my kitchen on Saturday. I do not like big furry moths flying about. I got him by covering him with a tea towel and stuffing it and him in the drain (block escape) and adding water to the sink. Whew. . .it's all because I read a book by Dorothy Dunnett where the heroine is engulfed (in the Middle East or Egypt )by moths which cover her face so she can hardly breathe. . .gross. Ahem. . .
ReplyDeleteRoland's book looks interesting, who doesn't like pirates?
Thanks for the shout out today, Alex! I love hanging here:) And that Firefly trail has got me excited too! :)
ReplyDeleteMark's Between Two Fires is a definite read for me living in Harlech, North Wales as his tales echoes one of the great Welsh stories, The Mabinogion... and there is a pub here called Y Branwen as this where the heroine of legend lived.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Mark! That's so exciting, sounds like a great read!! I love strong heroines as well.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the IWSG Contest announcement!
And congrats to all the other new releases!
Well now that I've seen one Rifftrax I might just have to see another. Is this what heroin addiction feels like?
ReplyDeleteI love the Dark Tower joke. As a huge fan of the series, so so true. I feel like angry, racist Internet nerds are already chiming in on that.
'MISTAKE: The main character is white, but they cast Idris Elba, which is completely inconceivable.'
'MISTAKE: The antagonist is an evil wizard, but they cast Matthew McConaughey, a goofy stoner who just thinks he's a wizard.'
'Verdict - it's terrible, and I haven't even seen it!'
*snickers* Star Trek: Bed, Bath, &. So funny!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mark! I loved his book and am excited to hear there will be a sequel.
Yay for Joanne!
ReplyDeleteAnd I look forward to seeing StarTrek: Bed, Bath &. Very funny.
RiffTrax is a thing I don't have time to make time for. Not without taking it out of writing time, and that's not an option.
ReplyDeleteAnd kind of answers that question.
Nothing better than a good Japanese Moth flick. And some popcorn, of course.
ReplyDeleteCongrats again to Mark. We're going to meet next weekend. Can't believe it. I get to talk to a real live author.
I have Roland's book on my Kindle, primed and ready to go.
Love the idea of Juneta's Storytime Hop. Just trying to figure out if I can do that and everything else that's happening.
How do you ever do it coming up with all this stuff to write about and then doing it! Sheesh! How do you get all these people to come and visit you to leave comments and follow you? It's just amazing. Yep, you just never cease to amaze me in all that you do. Thank you for stopping by, and just so you know next week is a FREEBIE. It's every other week, and don't forget to follow me too and also enter my give-away and if you win take your wife out to the show and hold hands. ~snicker-snicker~ GOOD LUCK & ENTER!!! Yep, six (6) years since I started the Monday's Music Moves Me. I had big hopes that a large amount of people would join each week. I figured who doesn't like music right especially on a Monday... but alas... I've never gone over 20. :( It's usually around 10-15... ). ~sigh~ but I stuck with it and my friends stuck by me. Callie & Stacy since the beginning & Naila started with me two yrs. later I met her. Oh my, there I go again babbling... so sorry! Have a rockin' week my friend!
ReplyDeleteI've been watching The Magicians on Demand, and they use the moth as the Sign of the Beast. A lot scarier than Mothra.
ReplyDeleteAh Mothra-what a great riffing experience that must have been! I love the Star Trek joke, too!
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing Between Two Fires all over the blogosphere. Sounds like a fascinating read. I look forward to checking it out. Wishing Mark the best of luck.
ReplyDeleteHave a great vacation!
~Jess
Good luck to Mark! I've seen his cover all over BlogLand!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your vacation, Alex!
Congrats to Mark! So exciting. Best to him.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Mark. I have seen, and been seriously tempted by, his book in a number of places.
ReplyDeleteHave fun on holidays.
Congratulations to the authors of all the new books.
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes.
I've not seen anything, as usual.
Have a great week, all.
Idris Elba is the Gunslinger, so I can't imagine how it could be bad.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Mark. Getting published by St. Martin's is an outstanding achievement for an author! Have a great vacation, Alex!
ReplyDeleteStephen, are you afraid to sleep?
ReplyDeleteDG, you are rough on bugs.
Mark, you're welcome!
Brandon and Bryan, yes! And comments like that amaze me.
Andrew, plus you have kids who suck up a bunch of free time. I don't!
Lee, that's awesome!
Marie, it's a freebie? I'm in. Don't give up on Monday Music. You need to find the right people, like those who do the twice-monthly Battle of the Bands.
Ken, I agree!
JE, I can't imagine either.
I did not understand why the Firefly series stopped after one season.
ReplyDeleteThe Animated Firefly Trailer is nice but no compensation for the real series.
My wife and I just returned from cinema. We watched Suicide Squad.
It was not bad. We liked most Harley Quinn and Deadshot.
Anyway our fil of the year 2016 is still The Hateful Eight.
I love the cover of Mark's book--and the premise sounds fantastic. Sounds like my kind of read. Hilarious quotes! Looking forward to reading the anthology announcement!
ReplyDeleteThe Star Trek one made me laugh. That is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteA huge congrats to all authors with book releases!! So many great books, I wish I had the time to read them all...
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic vacation, Alex!!!!
Enjoy your vacation Alex!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mark. I'm impressed that his sequel is in his publisher's hands already. And as always, congrats to those with books out!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Mark Noce, getting the book published and being so organized with it. I wish you great success, Mark!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice vacation, Alex. I'm ready for another one, but I guess I'll have to wait since my wife starts back to work tomorrow.
Arlee Bird
Tossing It Out
The Stark Trey Beyond joke was killer. Loved it. Congrats Mark on your book with heroine and Julianna on her new book in a series. Go girl! Inspiration is everywhere. *Confetti*
ReplyDeleteMichael, those were the best two characters. And Firefly was never given a chance as a series.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I'm far too amused by that Bed, Bath, & Beyond reference. And many congrats to Mark on his debut! How exciting that a sequel is in existence already...
ReplyDeleteI am amazed with all you keep track of...half my time is spent looking for things I've laid down.
ReplyDeleteMoths are not inherently frightening creatures...unless one is flying at your face. Then they're terrifying.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mark.
And yeah, that Firefly trailer... I couldn't resist it. Glad to see I wasn't the only one.
Traveling always inspires my stories. I fill my notebooks with future novel ideas whenever I go somewhere new.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to IWSG! Enjoy your well-deserved vacation, Alex!
Moths may not be inherently scary creatures to some people, but I've had a car wreck because of one. I've also run from hummingbird moths. Something that big chasing after you just can't be good.
ReplyDeleteHi, Alex,
ReplyDeleteThanks for ALL THE NEWS!
Congrats to MARK.... All the best with you new book. It has a very interesting premise.
Congrats to Roland, Joanne, and Juliana as well!
LOOKIng forward to entering the FANTASY Anthology. It will be a whole new piece for me. I'm very psyched about writing another new piece.
Enjoy your VACATION! Have fun!
Hi Alex - have a good break ... and yes moths are not inherently frightening creatures. Good to see Mark's book featured - hope it does well. And that Larry quote ... Good luck too to Roland and to Joanne for their new releases ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteReally wish that firefly animated series was happening.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mark!
Wow, I wish that there really was going to be a Firefly animated series! One season (and a movie) was not enough!
ReplyDeleteI love that there's a question of the month for IWSG, I always felt like I was putting the same thing every month. I'll be signing back up for September's post, I think :)
Gail, I do that as well!
ReplyDeleteLiz, thanks for pointing it out.
Michael, that moths have it in for you.
Michael, glad you'll be submitting something.
Lynda, I'd take anything at this point.
Laura, awesome!
Have a fun vacation!
ReplyDeleteLoved the quotes. Fun post.
Those are good quotes. I like the one about moths.
ReplyDeleteMark's book is terrific. I've already read it.
Hi Alex, Mark's book is super. I have read it twice, once in its manuscript stage and now in the book form. I fell in love with Branwen and Artagan (the main characters) all over again. Enjoy your vacation.
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting it's not real, and it hurts.
ReplyDeleteThat Star Trek Beyond joke. lololol
Firefly was such a great Science Fiction show with characters which are flawed and realistic. Its a real shame producers pulled the plug way too early. So in keeping with the good spirit of space adventure with none of the frills (transporter, communicators, phasers, etc) of Star Trek, its hardly surprising Firefly was born. So I had to write about Firefly vs Star Trek in 2014... The cartoon is a fantastic idea and if they have all the right actors voices, the new show will lift off into space.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Mark! He is everywhere. Just started his book and I know it will be a great read.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your vacation, Alex!!
love the quotes, hilarious! congrats to mark & the list!
ReplyDeleteand animated firefly? get. out!!
have a great vacay!
Great job, Stephen, on the trailer.
ReplyDelete'Lo, Alex:)
If they haven't done it already, I'd like to see a RiffTrax show of Dr. T. and the Women. That's one of the all-time worst movies I've ever seen. It's hard to believe eight big-name stars happily climbed aboard that sinking ship.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I saw Mothra a hundred years ago (at least it seems like that long) and haven't thought about it for a long, long time. It was terrible--and I loved every minute of it! Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Mark! Good luck on your book tour!
I would have sworn I posted a comment here but I came back by today and did not see it. So I am late getting this here. I must have killed the window without saving it. Or I overlooked it when I browsed thru the comments. Either way here it my comment.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to say thank you so much for advertising the blog hop for us. It is such thrill because in a way you a "rock star writer" to me, so the cool factor adds to your awesomeness. Soooo, appreciated.
Congrats to all the authors and their releases.
Don’t forget to visit the Parallels site!Oh cool, I did not know there was a Parallel site. Looks great. Have my copy and left a review. Great stories guys.
Juneta @ Writer's Gambit
Firefly coming back? Yes! Animated, but OK. Yes! YES!! OH YES!!! Oh....wait. That's not real? Aw man.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Mark, on your exciting new novel with such a great heroine.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Roland has a new book out--gotta go visit him and say hi.
As for scary moths--I knew someone who always got freaked out by miller moths. I usually had to catch them in my hands and put them outside to calm her down.
Love the sound of the book Mark, one of my favourite kind of reads :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday Alex :)
x
Congrats to Mark. Been so excited for this book!
ReplyDeleteMothra is an old favorite of mine from those wonderful days of the Saturday afternoon movies on WPIX!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Roland for yet another book. Quite a prolific author!
Spacer Guy, wouldn't that be awesome?
ReplyDeleteCarrie-Anne, I think MST3K did it once.
Juneta, you're welcome. And the Parallels post is live now.
Doranzor, I know!
I'm going to pass on an animated Firefly but Between two Fires looks pretty interesting :)
ReplyDeleteFIREFLY!!! *salivates* Now THAT's an animated series I would pay to watch. Please! BRING BACK FIREFLY! =)
ReplyDeleteAwww, that was a little heartbreaking snippet of Wash. :( I would love to see the animated series though. Do they have a kickstarter to make it happen?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time away, Alex. We'll leave the light on.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Mark! Enjoy your vacation, Alex. You deserve it.
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome vacation!
ReplyDeleteJean
Are these Rifftrax On Demand, or just live performances? Because I'd dearly love to watch one, but they're never near me.
ReplyDeleteMothra was cool when it became a moth. As a caterpillar? Meh.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that a moth on a touch screen computer can send you to weird blog sites?
ReplyDeleteNice one, Alex.
Gary
Hahahaha, on that last one. Now that's my kind of funny.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting these. And thanks for the good wishes on the sink. Just think, if we can fix our trailer (of which the mortgage is PAID in FULL), then we won't need to get a new place.
That would be WONDERFUL.
Anyway, Happy Weekend to you and your honey bunny.
Great quotes!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mark!
That Firefly trailer made me simultaneously excited and sad at the same time. I love that series so much and I just want more of them. T_T
ReplyDeleteHello, Alex. Long time no see again. I've been quite ill for months now and I can't quite find the energy to much lately. Bleh. But I'm trying to do a bit of blogging here and there. So here I am. :)
ReplyDeleteI found the short story blog hop yesterday actually, so I'm going to try to write something (which will be the first fiction related writing I've done in months!) to break my wordless cycle. Fingers crossed what I come up with doesn't completely suck. And yes, I'm excited to see what the theme is for the IWSG anthology :)
Fireflies? Real = yes! Animated = not so much :)
shahwharton.com
I bet the Mothra riff was good.
ReplyDeleteI do wish the was an animated Firefly show. That trailer looks great.
That last frame was hilarious!
ReplyDeleteOkay, don't get me started on Dark Tower. I'm so torn on how I feel. One day I'm excited. The next I'm so angry at what they're doing (or at least the rumors) I can't sit still. Stupid internet.
Congrats to the authors with new releases. I would watch an animated Firefly, for sure. Have a great few days off, Alex.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mark on the release of Between Two Fires! I've been waiting for this one to come out!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I'm DYING to know what the theme is for this years anthology!!
I remember watching godzilla vs mothra when i was a kid. There were these 2 twins on a rock that would sing a Mothra song. My husband looks at me like i'm crazy because i never saw it. last year a HUGE moth was in the house and he asked what is that- i laughed and replied oh that must be Mothra!!
ReplyDeleteAnother Alex and triumph! I especially loved the "Unpopular Fan Theories" and "Did You Know?" Totally loopy and really fits in nicely with MST3K's craziness! <3
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your much deserved vacation!
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes, thanks for sharing. And congrats to everyone with new releases!
ReplyDeleteThe quotes were fabulous... loved them:)
ReplyDeleteBeen seeing Marc's book everywhere... looks so cool.
Funny. I have to agree about the Dark Tower one. Some movies should not be made, ya know, lol.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Marck :) Sounds intriguing.
I'm looking forward to this next IWSG; boy am I too busy to write!
It would be so awesome if that animated Firefly was a real series :) Between Two Fires sounds interesting, and I like the cover.
ReplyDeleteAs for IWSG, that is a great question and I look forward to reading what others have to say on finding time, although I may not have much advice to offer. I'm also nervous about the anthology theme. I'm not sure if I can write fantasy or not, but I might give it a try. If nothing else, it will be good writing practice :)
Loni, I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteJohn, that was a live event, but some of the their previous live events are available at their website.
Al, not very threatening.
Gary, funny!
Shah, I'm sorry. Good to hear from you.
Kristin, you'll find out in less than two weeks.
Holli, funny.
Elizabeth, give it a try!
Mothra! I love all those old Gozilla vs. (whatever) movies. So much fun and I bet they're awesome with the funny comments.
ReplyDeleteThe memes are really funny!
Congrats to Mark on his release! I like combining genres, too. And congrats to Roland, Joanne, and Juliana!
I look forward to reading Mark's book. I like those IWSG questions. I don't have to stretch to think of a post anymore.
ReplyDeleteHave a great vacation! Oh and Mark's book sounds good. I enjoy strong heroines too.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to those with new books. I watched the trailer that was quite interesting. Enjoy your vacation!
ReplyDeleteWhat inspires my stories? Just about anything. I've gotten ideas from pretty much everywhere, and most of what I work on comes from more than one inspiration. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to seeing what's up with the IWSG Anthology. I didn't have anything that would have worked for it last year, so it'll be good to see if I do this year.
Japanese monster movies and an animated Firefly? My day is officially complete.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention, Alex! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the original Star Trek movie. We took our daughters to one of the Star Trek conventions which was a lot of fun.
ReplyDelete
