The real bummer was that Snowpiercer, which came out last year to rave reviews, only had a limited release here in the USA. How limited? One theater. In New York! Hopefully it will open to a wider audience soon, as I really want to see this film.
Here’s the description: In this sci-fi epic, a failed global-warming experiment kills off most life on the planet. The final survivors board the SNOWPIERCER, a train that travels around the globe via a perpetual-motion engine. When cryptic messages incite the passengers to revolt, the train thrusts full-throttle towards disaster.
In other movie news…
According to ScienceFiction.com, Frank Darabont may direct the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman. Good news for the ladies – the movie will focus on Chris Hemsworth’s character with no Snow White/Kristen Stewart in sight.
And Pacific Rim will be getting a sequel! Scheduled release date is April 7, 2017, so don’t get too excited…
Joy Campbell’s Taming Celeste is now available! Buy it at Amazon US, Amazon UK, and Smashwords
Clarissa Draper’s second book is now out - The Electrician’s Code.
Rachel Morgan’s The Trouble with Flying is now out.
Brinda Berry got the rights back to her book and has rereleased Watcher of Worlds with a new cover.
Do you like to read psychological thrillers? Well, Jessica Bell's giving away her latest release, WHITE LADY, for FREE, to every single person who signs up to the "Two Lies & a Truth" Blog Tour (taking place October 1 - 31). It's hassle-free. All you have to do is post what she sends you to your blog (or Facebook page) and Bob's your uncle. She will also be giving away a copy of the book to one lucky reader of your blog. More details and sign up form HERE.
Yvonne Lewis was sweet enough to send a copy of her book to me! Arlee Bird provided the forward and is featured on the cover.
And I got to supply a blurb for the back! So honored...
Don’t forget that this Wednesday is Insecure Writer’s Support Group post day!

See you Wednesday for the Insecure Writer’s Support Group!

No movies for me, but it was a killer weekend. Got a new bake book on clearance. Congrats on the blurb. Have a most productive and fun week. Cheers and boogie boogie.
I'm going to see Snoppiercer this week. It's at the local Filmoteca, which is a chain of government-sponsored arthouse cinemas here in Spain. They show lots of classic movies and quirky international stuff.
Would you like a review for your blog?
I really don't do movies - and sometimes regret it after reading your comments. Only sometimes though.
Congratulations to all of the featured authors.
Deliver Us From Evil sounds like fun, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is a definite To-Watch as it stars Gary Oldman, a real fave.
I'm British - don't talk to me about The World Cup!! :(
Glad you reminded me about IWSG post - where has the month gone?
shahwharton.com
I'm in line to see How to train your dragon 2 in glorious 3D for my birthday!!! Snowpiercer's just been released (well it was last week!) and I really am totally intrigued, especially as that woman with the glasses is the glorious and utterly beautiful Tilda Swinton! Wow!!
Oooh the Raid 2!!! I totally hope it never ever ever gets re-done by Hollywood!! LOL!! Although I think Raid 1 is already in the pipeworks for a hollywood remake! Booo!
Take care
x
What I see is an amazing lack of good movies. Maybe the well went dry after the May/June openers.
Thx for the IWSG reminder. #gettingbackintothebloggergroove
I had a lucky weekend for the World Cup - stopped for lunch and saw the exciting conclusion to the Netherlands/Mexico game. Stopped at a bar later in the evening and caught the last 10 minutes of the Greece/Costa Rica match-up.
Saw How To Train Your Dragon 2 and loved it. Of course there will be a 3 because there has to be a lady Night Fury for Toothless somewhere...
Also rented Her. Turned it off after the first 20 minutes. Just not my cup of tea...glad I didn't pay to see it in the theatre.
What a disappointment about Snowpiercer! And strange, too--with the lack of decent movies out, seems like an action-adventure s/f tale would have done well at the box office.
We've been watching some of the World Cup, yes. And looking up soccer rules as we go... :)
Snowpiercer does sound intriguing. If it was only released in one theater in NY though, I don't see it coming here to KY lol. I reckon I'll catch it on video :)
We had a very busy weekend, but I did see part of Frozen at a birthday party yesterday. Does that count?
As for Snowpiercer, I personally don't get the premise of the film. A perpetual-motion machine isn't possible, and even if you could get all that free energy, why not try to make at least one place habitable instead of constantly traveling? Maybe I need some tea....
Sean, lucky you! Just let me know what you thought.
Shah, June was sucked into the void...
Kitty, go see it! And a Raid remake? Why?
Carol, rather sad this month, isn't it?
Lisa, I have no desire to watch Her. And yes, there has to be a female for Toothless somewhere.
Elizabeth, it's been the distributor's fault. He wanted the movie shortened and the director said no, so they've been in a battle.
I've never heard of Snowpiercer. Hehehe! It might be worth a laugh. I watched the Lego Movie on the weekend and really enjoyed it. Though that dang awesome song is stuck in my head! Have a good week. :)
dawn of the planet of the apes looks good....had not heard of snow piercer...i will have to keep an eye out for that one....
books....caught up on the game of thrones series....re-read hunger games because my son is reading it...
Congrats to all those who have book just released and a special nod to you and Arlee Bird for your blurbs in Yvonne's book. As for movies, it's amazing how many movies are just remakes (and usually poorly done) of old movies. SNOWPIERCER does sound interesting.
Nothing which really appeals to me movie wise. Tried to watch an old British Movie on TV this weekend "A Kid for Two Farthings" I loved it originally, not this time. Lots of new books again. I have been reading myself silly this last few days trying to catch up with the library.
I've been so busy revising I've hardly watched anything except Law & Order reruns. Too bad about the Transformer movie; the first two were fun.
Saw Transformers last night. It is so strange how #1 and #3 of the series was brilliant, but #2 fell short. #4 was kind of annoying because of the humans, but the robots were still cool. Optimus was kind of pissy in this one, which was funny to watch.
I'm up for pretty much anything Frank Darabont has a hand in. :)
And I'm looking forward to the Apes movie. I liked the first one much more than I thought I would.
Madeline @ The Shellshank Redemption
T4: the Age of Stink, my wife and I saw this, I like dumb movies because they are suppose to suck. This one just, well I just didn't care about any one of the characters... even the robots. So when you have a budget spend more time on things blowing up, more on a script and less stupid one liners. I have had a discussion on Facebook, which I can share with you... I think the general media were told to like this film, so they don't get cut from the media herd for the next big film. Once the people start talking the film will quickly go away... sad thing this is another, trilogy of films. Sad, so sad...
I didn't see any new movies this weekend, but watched an older one I hadn't seen. Slumdog Millionaire, great movie but really disturbing. It's been hanging around in my mind a bit.
Snowpiercer does sound good! I think my hubby might even enjoy that one! :)
Hi Alex - I saw "Belle" about the Slave Trade and an interesting link to the aristocracy here .. fiction based on true facts - it was good.
Books seem to have been buying them too .. Aussie ones now and one on Namibia .. fascinating subjects ..
So pleased to see Jess', Joy's, and Clarissa's books out ..
Cheers Hilary
Oops. I was thinking IWSG was NEXT week. Thanks for the reminder. How can it be July already????
Christine, I still want to see that movie.
Mason, thanks, and yes, so many remakes.
Marcy, it still made a ton of movie this weekend.
Sydney, I'll remember that when I catch it on NetFlix.
Madeline, so did I!
Jeremy, sorry you wasted those hours of your life. I wouldn't be surprised if the media was pressured to like it.
Snowpiercer looks good, too bad it isn't out much. Planet of the apes I'll probably see, but screw the rip off of ET.
Wow! That is a limited release. What's up with that? And gosh there are a lot of books coming out and I'll say they all look good to me.
I saw How to Train Your Dragon 2 a few days ago. It was done very well for the most part. Watching the World Cup has taken up a lot of my time lately. Luckily, both of the teams I root for are still in the tournament at the time of this writing (the USA and the Netherlands).
There haven't really been any movies out lately that I've wanted to see. I did just put a few too many books on my Kindle--this week I'm thinking less watching, more reading!
I've always wanted to write a blurb for someone. That's awesome!
Also, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who's been eager to see Snowpiercer. One theater? Gah. If they don't bring it around here I may just have to download it. Uh, I mean legally acquire it through the proper channels.
Congrats to all the authors with books.
Not a lot coming out in the way of good movies this month.
no movies but I've been reading the new Pretty Little Liars--I think the series is coming to an end soon.Summer=more time to read!
Seeing a movie with snow sounds good right about now!
First thing when I saw the poster for Echo, I thought of ET.
Wow! Everybody's been writing and publishing like crazy! Congrats everyone! Hope you sell boatloads!
Best movie I've seen in a long time is The Fault in Our Stars.. yeah, yeah, it's a chick flick, but it's a four-hankie bit of happiness and I highly recommend!
Congrats to Yvonne and Brinda. Snowpiercer looks really cool. I watched Prometheus on DVD this weekend, which was very interesting. My boyfriend has been watching the World Cup, but is convinced many of the games are rigged with bad calls.
I love Brinda's new cover and was so happy to read she got her rights back.
I've actually been surprised how much I'm enjoying the World Cup. Never been a soccer fan but I've been drawn in now, as much for all the characters involved as for the matches. It's definitely like no other sporting event!
I actually -did- waste two and half hours on Transformer 4 this weekend and you pretty much nailed it, lol. Lots of slo-motion explosions, silly camera angles, and lighting. Thing was, though, it was still pretty entertaining and, if nothing else, the scene where Optimus Prime rides in on Grimlock's back made the movie for me.
I'm easily amused :)
No real interest in Planet of the Apes (I'm a diehard fan of the originals), but I'll probably give Hercules a shot.
Oh man. I got excited twice on this blog only to be let down. I saw Snowpiercer and thought, "Oh, I forgot this movie came out this weekend!" And then I read...it's only out in NYC. So then I continued to read and saw you say "Pacific Rim got a sequel." Only to see that it's three years away. Dayummm. Still love all the news!
LG, it snuck up on us!
Pat, that's what I say!
Patrick, I've lost some time to the World Cup this past week...
Brandon and Bryan, I searched all over for it yesterday. Supposed to be available On Demand, but I couldn't find it.
Theresa, looks just like a ripoff, doesn't it?
Julie, not a fan either but I've been watching.
Mark, I was just too busy. I will watch it on NetFlix, because I'm also easily amused.
Michael, don't hold your breath for either film...
I always wonder why some movies just never make it to wider distribution. I know nothing of the movie business, but some things that are everywhere shouldn't be and some that should be everywhere aren't. (I think that's a sentence.)
Congrats to Joy Campbell and definitely to Brinda Berry for getting her rights back! Have to get Jessica's book.
Yes it is a great argument of Snowpiercer!
Snowpiercer looks a lot more interesting than any of the movies you list coming out for July. In fact, it's the only one I would consider watching. Who decides which movies get shoved down our throat and which ones get limited releases?
Don't know if I'll see any movies this month though I'm going to rent a few on demand. We've been watching soccer. The family is really into it, surprising since my boys all played American football. Go USA.
I really want to see Snowpiercer too.
No movies last weekend. Hope to see the Tom Cruse movie, soon.
Since Transformers 4 has gotten such bad reviews, does that mean they're going to stop? In my younger years when I saw every big movie that came out, I never found that movies got better with each sequel, only worse.
"Bob's your uncle." I woke up from a dream with that saying in my mind today. Laughed out loud when I saw it here. Thanks for the scoops, as always!
Never heard of snowpiercer. Looks interesting.
I've been missing Yvonne. I didn't see a link to her blog. Is she still having problems with it?
Too bad about Transformers 4. It's kind of hard though, to keep the level high with so many in a series.
Haven't seen any good movies the past week or so. Dan wants to see Dawn and we'll probably watch Hercules. Snowpiercer looks good and sounds timely.
Been reading some good books, tho. Mostly just having some much needed R&R.
Congrats to Yvonne and the rest for having books out. :-)
Have a great week!
Congrats to all of the authors! Great blurb for Yvonne's book! I'm so excited for her!
Julie
I didn't watch any movies over the weekend but that is a bummer hearing about the bad reviews for the new Transformer movie.
Congratulations on the blurb!
Have a wonderful holiday week!
Mary Montague Sikes
Movies seem a little lacking recently. I will wait for Hercules on DVD.
I did see the trailer for the new Dracula. That looked really good. Nothing shiny in that movie!
Happy Monday!
Heather
Cool, that you got to provide a blurb:) On another note...I'm weary of this new planet of the apes film...
I'm looking forward to the new Planet of the Apes movie, too.
I figured this new Transformer movie would suck and I like Mark Wahlburg. Congrats to the blurb!!! The Planet of the Apes movie looks good and the 1st one was quite good. I wonder if we shall see how the Statue of Liberty gets destroyed?
Congrats to the new releases! There are a few of those new movies coming out in July that I haven't even heard of.
Hi!
Thanks for the warning on Transformers IV!Not going to see it!
I liked Caesar and the Planet of the Apes as well. I thought it was awesome!
Congratulations on your blurb! That is a real honor!
Yay, Alex!
jean xox
My one regret in life is I wasn't born rich enough to just sit and read every day. Because now at this age I am faced with the awful truth that there isn't enough time left to read all the books I want to read. Drats.
The covers look great! What a wonderful thing for all these talented authors!
Lee, no idea.
Dianne, in this case, it would be the crappy distributor who wanted the movie's time shaved - but the director refused. (Good for him.)
Stephanie, it made money - so probably not.
Liza, I am here to amuse!
Sherry, she's offline for a while, but I'll let you know when she comes back.
Heather, Dracula shouldn't ever shine.
Birgit, at some point, it's got to be destroyed.
Joylene, you and me both...
Think I might be going to the movies on Wednesday with some friends from work. Seeing Walking on Sunshine, not sure it is running in US though.
Some great books out again this week, pleased to see Yvonne's mentioned here, haven't heard from her recently and was wondering how she was doing. If you read this Yvonne have been thinking about you.
I promise to have 0 excitement for a Pacific Rim sequel.
Transformers 4 was awful. Review on Friday. (Unless you want to go read it on Amazon.)
Transformers was bad, huh? That's too bad. I'd like to see Snowpiercer. It sounds like a redo of Speed maybe? Maybe it'll be on Netflix?
Ooh the blurb! That's awesome! :D
I'm really looking forward to seeing Lucy (Sci-Fi/Action) coming in July. And I'm totally skipping Transformers :-/
I'm waiting for Guardians of the Galaxy and Lucy.
I heard about the Huntsman movie. If Kristen Stewart isn't in it, sign me up.
I still have to watch Snowpiercer. I'm hearing a lot of good things.
Snowpiercer sounds awesome!!
And i'm really excited to see Planet of the Apes, though i'm worried i'll end up missing it while it's in thearters just because July is a busy month for me
I was wondering how well Transformers would do. I was kind of glad my family went without me and let me tag along for How to Train your Dragon 2 instead.
Looking forward to the Planet of the Apes movie. Not sure how good it will be, but I liked the other one.
I listened to a review of the Transformers movie. It contained a GREAT line: "It's like watching two and a half hours of construction sites attacking each other."
Well, that movie is off my list. I think I'll hold out for that Apes flick next week.
Snowpiercer sounds interesting. I want to see it too! It can be frustrating when good films receive such limited releases.
My husband and I watched Edge of Tomorrow on our anniversary last Tuesday. My husband looked at me afterward and asked, "is it okay to laugh when Tom Cruise dies?"
If the next Apes film is as good as the last one then I'm definitely up for that one. Snowpiercer sounds interesting--hadn't heard of that one.
I'm ready for the #IWSG post, but due to my scheduling it will go up a day early to coincide with July 1st.
Lee
Tossing It Out
That's so weird that they only showed in one theater. I wonder how often that happens?
We have been watching The World Cup. :)
I haven't watched a movie for ages. I prefer reading in the summer as I can do that in the garden. Actually I prefer reading in the winter too.
I just got back from the ALA conference and scored a ton of books...can't wait to start reading them.
Suzanne, I'll let her know.
Andrew you posted your review on Amazon? Scary, that means the DVD is already up for presale.
Mina, nothing like Speed.
Sarah, hope you don't miss it.
Al, that does sum it up, I'm sure.
Loni, that's funny.
Lee, you're such a rebel.
Ilima, that's cool!
Hey Al! Congrats all featured.
Snowpiercer sounds a lot more interesting than Transformers 4.
Doesn't look like much is coming out this month (at least, nothing I want to see). How boring.
Call me crazy, bur Hercules looks awesome. I cannot WAIT to see the Rock running around playing a Greek (going by the Roman version of his name for some reason).
Not even the TRex transformer could entice you to watch Transformers 4? That may be why hubby and I see it... if it's still playing after the holidays. We are not going during the 4th weekend. Too many people.
Apes and a Snow train...sounds good to me! How cute is your blurb for Yvonne's book-I must visit her~
Arlee must of been surprised~
Wow, so many great books and cool news about Jessica!
Keep cool wise Ninja sage!
Oh so THAT's what Snowpiercer is about! LOL
I'm sorry Transformers sucked. But it sucked SO BAD.
K-Stew was terrible in Snow White and the Huntsman. That is a blessed relief.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is right up my alley, everything else...we'll see.
There are some cool looking titles here and the Jessica Bell offer is pretty sweet.
I had the same impression about Earth to Echo. :*
I'm so far behind on movies, I just this week saw RIPD - a waste of many talented actors.
JE, a lot more interesting!
Karen, I'll still watch films like that. Just for the theater, I go for the big budget ones.
Thanks, Ella!
Karen, that's why I avoided it.
Robin, agreed!
Shame about Transformers. I was looking forward to going to see a good scifi. Oh well.
It's also a shame about Snowpiercer. Sounds like a great watch. I guess we'll have to wait for the dvd release.
I finally went and saw THE FAULT IN OUR STARS this past weekend, and cried the whole way through. It totally lived up to the book for me. And, you know, sometimes a girl needs a good cry!
I really want to see TFIOS, but nothing else has really caught my eye.
Awesome books. I just bought Joy's. I hope to read the others.
Sorry your movie weekend was a bust.
Congrats to everyone with new books!
Love your Christian sandwich shop idea.
Snowpiercer looked intriguing, and a read a review somewhere that really called it a kind of break-through. Why isn't it in wide release the way a the Transformer turkey is? Oh, the mysterious ways of Hollywood.
Congrats to Yvonne and the other authors! Hervules is one of my favorite myths, but I'm not looking forward to that movie. Finally, anything with Mystery Science Theater 3000 in the title rocks.
Looking forward to re-joining the insecure writer's group on Wednesday!
A sequel to Pacific Rim? But...but...they nuked the baddies last time didn't they? :)
Good movie, only problem is I watched it first on big screen in 3D and found it impossible to track all the fast-moving action. The fight scenes were just a confusing blur. Saw it again at home and was able to enjoy it far more.
let the summer madness with movies began! I would really like to see Echo with the kiddos. it looks cute!
I love summer movies. Hoping to hit the drive in with the kiddos next week. We can see Dragons 2, and then if they fall asleep, I can have my choice of movies!
I have always seen all of the matches of the World Cup. Which wasn't easy because of the different time zone and with the matches started at 22:00 and 0:00.
The July's movie menu looks a little bit disapponting. I eagerly wait for August with the Guardians of the Galaxy. :)
Alex, if you have the chance, make sure you check out Snowpiercer. Believe the hype, it's an incredible movie.
Looking forward to see Hercules, Deliver Us From Evil, and especially DOTPOTA, since I'm a fan of both, the franchise and director Matt Reeves.
I just saw the previews for Hercules on TV last night. I have to admire a character that carries a sword.
Did you watch Under the Dome, what did you think? I am tuning in again this season.
Lynda, let me know if it's available to those of you in Australia.
Helena, it is a mystery. And glad the sandwich shop name amused you.
Maurice, yes it does!
Rose, glad you're back!
Zoltan, that movie will be awesome.
George, the moment it's available, I will watch it.
Truedessa, no, I haven't watched the series. Too many.
Nice blurb, Alex! So glad to hear about Snow White and the Huntsman w/o centering on Stewart...Hemsworth will be worth the see...I feel out of the lope with blogging since I'm still waiting for my charger to come in the mail, and I expedited it! Hope my computer still knows how to rev up. Working here on a friends laptop.
What am I doing? Buying too many books as usual, need a bigger house! :0)
I don't remember the last time I saw a movie at a theater. Must have been at least over ten years ago. As for books, I have so many on my Kindle that I can't figure out which one to read next. Good luck finding Snowpiercer.
Just got home from the movies - saw the Transformer's movie...I really enjoyed it.
Big congrats to all the authors with new releases! Pat on the back to you and Arlee for being part of "Moments of My Life" by Yvonne Lewis.
A friend saw Transformers and said that despite a few hiccups in the plot, he really enjoyed it. These days though, it's just as easy to wait till the dvd releases to check it out, isn't it?
Congrats to everyone on their books, and to you for the back cover! Have a great week!
Snowpiercer looks awesome! One of my favorite movies had a limited (but not that limited) release, and I had to drive two hours to the only theater in AZ that was playing it (if they hadn't I would have needed to go to San Francisco!)
Wonderful the Planet of the Apes!
Hahaha… you are such a GUY, Alex. Just the way you talk about explosions and movies. It's awesome. And I'm totally laughing at mini Alex in that blurb picture! I don't know why, but mini Alex will always crack me up!!!! I need to get my hubby to read your blog--he would love all your movie reviews/etc. :)
I may not get to see Snowpiercer not likely here. Will keep eyes peeled just in case. But it is most welcomed to see Yvonne's book printed. Wonderfully done Alex!
Hank
Every time I see new delicious cover art on your blog, especially from a blogger I "know," I want to add it to my TBR list....which is already about five miles long.
I do like Dwayne Johnson, so it'll be interesting to see how he does as Hercules.
I really enjoyed Transformers. Of course I went into the movie knowing it would be for entertainment and it was that for me - entertaining. I had a great time watching the cool new transformers with my eleven year old son. But even my daughters and husband enjoyed it. Was it Oscar worthy? Def not. But it was F.U.N. =)
Nice blurb. I'm also trying to figure out how a sequel to Snow White can only focus on the huntsman and not have Snow White? Hmmm. Interesting.
Congrats to Joy, Clarissa, Rachel and Brinda!
Nice to see mini-Alex next to the blurb... he really gets around...
Almost ready for tomorrow's IWSG post...
The last "Apes" film was better than I thought, but I am not sure how I feel about them throwing the "original" story line out the window. These two movies basically nullify the last three seventies Planet Of The Apes films ("Escape From," "Conquest Of," "Battle For")
After seeing the amazingly awful Lou Ferrigno Hercules movie, it took a free DVD set of the Kevin Sorbo series Season 1 before I could watch anything Hercules-related again.
The production team looks like this should be decent, but it will probably be something I wait for Amazon Prime to stream.
The new movie with Scarlett Johansson looks interesting....and not just because of her obvious screen appeal.
LC
Cathrina, we've missed you!
Jeff, ten years? Whoa...
Karen, that's why I'm waiting.
Morgan, thank you for all that!
Patricia, so is mine...
RaShelle, sure I'll enjoy it on NeFlix on my own big screen.
Larry, now the Hercules with Sorbo was excellent! Never missed an episode.
Hi Alex! Yes, I've been watching the World Cup! :( The US just went down to defeat a little while ago. I'll have to cheer for Costa Rica now! I'm looking forward to reading IWSG posts tomorrow! Have a good one!
Look up Rainierland on Google and you will be able to see SNOWPIERCER -- also all the episodes of PENNY DREADFUL. It is not a pirate site or I would not use it.
I enjoyed SNOWPIERCER: an action film with Art Film depth. Not CAPTAIN AMERICA though!!
I think I know what happens to Caesar in DAWN and would prefer not to see it. :-(
Rather than punish myself with the Transformer movie, I paid to see THE EDGE OF TOMORROW the second time.
I already have my IWSG post for July up. Heading into my cancer surgery this Thursday. Cross your fingers and say a prayer, all right? :-)
Stay tuned for Transformers 5!
Excellent links, as per usual. And awesome about get a copy of Yvonne's book. Along with you provided the back blurb, that makes it all good. Well done, sir.
I wont mention the World Cup. Even though I'm sure the name "Belgium" might not be the word of the day in the USA!
IWSG aka...forget it! I shall be there :)
Gary
The only movie I know I'm seeing in theatres in July is The Rebbe's Spectrum, at the local indie theatre on July third. It's a documentary about the late Lubavitcher Rebbe, whose 20th Jahrzeit (death anniversary) just passed.
The Rock is playing Hercules? This oughta be good. :) (I know there's a reason I always catch the Ninja updates!)
Taking a breather from IWSG this month though--but fear not, I will be back in August, and as insecure as ever ...
I'll be nauseating my kids with the E.T. reboot this weekend. And I'm finally watching Chronicle tonight. I missed it when it was in the theatres a couple years ago.
I'm currently finishing up God's Loophole, a modern day SciFi right up my ally. I'll be doing a review on it later this month.
Never much cared for MST 3000, but the apes and Hercules might be worth a gander.
Snowpiercer does sound interesting and I've never heard of a movie only releasing in one theater. One. Yikes.
I personally don't think I do see Earth to Echo. The way they filmed it would have me puking before we could make it five minutes in. I think they might regret filming it that way. I'll stick with ET for my lost alien flick favorite. :)
Very excited for the IWSG tomorrow! :)
Let's not be too critical here. Maybe two and a half hours of mindless explosions are too much, but an hour isn't so bad. :)
We saw How To Train Your Dragon 2 this two weeks ago and loved it. My daughter is a real fanatic. Then she found out that the producers are talking about having all the dragons disappear forever in the third movie. My daughter has already signed a petition to keep the Dragons in Berk for the next movie.
School holidays down here, so all that's showing is kiddie stuff.:(
I'm ok with a Pacific Rim sequel. As long a Charlie Hunan is still lead.
I'm really looking forward to Pacific Rim 2!
Congrats to Joy, Clarissa, Rachel, and Brinda!
Snowpiercer sounds awesome!!!
Lots of new books coming out this summer. Thanks for the highlight!
Gotta see Dwayne Johnson in Hercules!
Just signed up for Jessica Bell's book tour. Thanks for the info!
On traditional publishing: I have done both. In my opinion, the big five are not looking for literature. A celebrity with a drug problem and a ghost writer is more likely to land one of the big five. Also, with the exception of cases where the authors are celebrities, famous personalities, or politicians, the offers are miniscule. I believe there is more opportunity for success today through self-publishing and marketing. Independent authors are the traditional publishers of tomorrow!
Congrats to all the authors, amazing covers and great titles.
My boys saw Transformers 4 and said it was crap. To quote, "Great special effects with the Transformers, strung together with a bunch of explosions. A total waste of time and money."
Haven't been watching movies. Have been drowning my angst in Big Bang Theory. It never gets old no matter how many times I've seen it.
I want to see that Snowpiercer movie, too. That's exactly our favorite kind of stuff.

I watch the bad movies, so you don't have to. lol I watched Topline. I'll review it on my blog in a few weeks. I hear the new Star Trek is 2016. Two whole years. Siigh.
Hi Alex! I do want to see Snowpiercer, but I'm going to skip Transformers. I try to avoid movies by Michael Bay.
I disagree about the Huntsman movies. I'm not a Stewart fan, but there are so few female-led films. Fairy tales seems to be one of the roles with female leads. Now instead of more Snow White we get the Huntsman? I like Chris Hemsworth, but I didn't think the Huntsman had that much of a storyline?
Oh my I actually read the book that Deliver us from evil was based on (Beware the Night), it was really spooky, but in the end good always won over evil.
I think Hollywood may be glorifying it a little too much. Some of the scenes in the trailer are so far fetched and never happened in the memoir. I don't mind scary movies, in fact I like scary films, but in the end good always should always conquer evil.
Thank you for sharing my book's release in this post!
you, my friend, have provided me with a few more to add to my list ( already planned on the planet of the apes). We have to wait to see them on DVD when they come out but we are anxiously awaiting that one. xo
I want to see Maleficent so bad! And x men. And train your dragon 2 and I'm missing all of them!!! Arg! I've also heard 22 Jump street is pretty good... I hope I can make it this weekend... Hope you had a happy Fourth, ours was great, and relaxing...
