Ninja News and the April Movie Preview

Ninja News!

Thanks to everyone for your comments Monday regarding Jeffrey Beesler’s book, Spell of Entrapment. And for reading my interview at Emily King’s blog.

Thank you to author Jessica Therrien for featuring my book on Monday. That was a nice surprise!

And over at Mark’s Aloha and hi! from HI he interviewed Cassie and I was an interview question! Yes, I do sleep. No, I do not have clones. I’m a super Ninja. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

The A to Z Challenge begins this Sunday April 1! I’ll be posting the basic guidelines and tips on Friday. Hope you’ve been preparing your posts. And I'm over at the A to Z Blog today talking about SHORT posts.

May 15 - Diablo 3. I am so there! And Baldur's Gate the enhanced edition is coming out soon for PC and the iPad. Yes, I will be getting both!

A movie is in development from the book, The Lies of Locke Lamora. That was my favorite book last year, so hopefully it doesn't fall into development hell.

And sometimes, we have epic Ninja fail. I completely forgot to mention Annalisa Crawford’s new book, Cat & the Dreamer, when it came out a few weeks ago. She is just the sweetest person and I feel like a shmuck for forgetting…

And now, here are your April movies!

As always, descriptions courtesy of the IMDB. Snarky comments by me.

6 -

Titanic (1997) - [Opens April 4th in 3D]
Adventure | Drama | History | Romance
Director: James Cameron
Stars: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates
Why re-release in 3D? Because they can.

13 -

The Cabin in the Woods
Horror | Thriller
Director: Drew Goddard
Stars: Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Chris Hemsworth, Jesse Williams
Five friends go for a break at a remote cabin in the woods, where they get more than they bargained for. Together, they must discover the truth behind the cabin in the woods.
This Joss Whedon project looks amazing! It is not the horror story you think…

Lockout
Action | Thriller | Sci-Fi
Directors: James Mather | Stephen St. Leger
Stars: Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, Joseph Gilgun
A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.
Ever since I saw the first trailer where Guy Pearce is smart mouthing the interrogator and getting punched for each response, this has been a must-see for me.

27 -

The Pirates! Band of Misfits
Animation | Adventure | Family
Directors: Peter Lord | Jeff Newitt
Stars: Hugh Grant, Salma Hayek, Jeremy Piven, Brendan Gleeson
Pirate Captain sets out on a mission to defeat his rivals Black Bellamy and Cutlass Liz for the Pirate of the year Award. The quest takes Captain and his crew from the shores of Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London.
It’s from the creators of Wallace and Gromit – how could you not want to see it?

The Raven
Thriller
Director: James McTeigue
Stars: John Cusack, Alice Eve, Luke Evans, Brendan Gleeson
When a madman begins committing horrific murders inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's works, a young Baltimore detective joins forces with Poe to stop him from making his stories a reality.
To quote the critics – “Nevermore!”

Anyone else get a good laugh out of Mark’s post? Did I miss any news? Ready for the A to Z? (I’m revealing my theme this Friday and I think some of you will really dig it.) Any movies catch your eye? Or are you holding out for May…?

  1. An iceberg in the face, exactly what I look for in a movie-going experience.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Guy Pearce? How do I not know anything about Lockout? AndI have to see The Cabin in the Woods, if only because Joss Whedon's name is attached to it.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I'm getting nervous about A to Z. I hope to finish up some more posts today. I'm only at H. Oh well, I always seem to pull it out in the end. I have to finish edits for my publisher today before I start my posts. I will get it done, and I'm excited to participate!

  4. So, you say, you aren't the devil (because the devil never sleeps). :) But maybe you're a cylon!

Baldur's Gate EE... Hmm. I think I have to prepare it, because me and some of my friends translated to Hungarian the BG1-2 and the Icewind dale series. It was quite a lot of work.
Unfortunatelly we didn't get official translation from the Hungarian publisher, but we had assets to translate it. So, we did it... By the way the Hungarian publisher was really happy, because it hadn't pay to cost of localisation. (The mentioned games count at least 5.000.000 character per game.)

  5. I love Joss Whedon and will have to see The Cabin in the Woods!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I don't know- the cabin in the woods and the raven look scary. *covers eyes*. I'm one of those people who has nightmares if I watch a scary movie. Sad but true.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Anything with Joss Whedon is good so I would have to see it even though I would be scared out of my mind. And The Raven--I'm a sucker for Poe.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Moody, that's funny!

Sarah, that's a big reason why I want to see The Cabin in the Woods.

    Ciara, you can do it!

RaveAir, that's really cool though! Not a cylon and definitely not the devil.

    Lurker, yes it does!

Katie, might want to avoid them then.

  9. I feel embarrased the only movie on your list that I have seen is Titanic. Not sure how I feel about adding the 3-D effect I really don't seek out the 3-D movies. :/ I definately want to try to find the movie The Raven tho

    ReplyDelete
  10. Am so in for The Raven, though I am alone in my house... Don't understand the idea of Cabin In The Woods... I know this is going to sound weird, but I have never seen the Titanic movie... not interested... weird part is I love the score/soundtrack and got the 4cd re-release...

  11. I remember seeing Titanic at 1am in the theater when it came out. There was no way to get the tickets earlier unless you stood in a loooong line. We didn't get out until 4am.
    Lockout looks promising.
I'm nervous about the A-Z Challenge and I don't know why. Feels like I'm part of something Epic.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I so want to see The Pirates! I am a huge Wallace & Gromit fan, so anything by those people is sure to be brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I will be seeing Titanic. It's one of my all time favorite movies and James Cameron's best, in my opinion. Sorry, but I was bored senseless with Avatar. It was pretty to look at, though.

Cabin and Raven look really good. So does Pirates. I am moving during A to Z and I can't get my posts to schedule. I tried to schedule all my posts this week so far and none of them published for the time I scheduled. I'm doomed.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Dude. You scare me sometimes. Diablo and Baldur's Gate? Been there, done that! Loved them. Personally I thought the first Diablo was the best. They changed up too many things on the 2nd. Maybe 3 will surprise me. I haven't played Baldur's Gate in forever! My husband and I would play for days straight camped out in our living room, having pizza delivered. Oh, the good ol' days before 'the child' came along.

I did see a movie teaser with your girlfriend in it. A remake of Total Recall with Kate and Colin Farrell? What sickness is this?

I didn't know about Lockout. I'll have to go see the trailer. *update...I just watched the trailer! Awesome. "It's a dream vacation."

I want to see The Cabin in the worst way but I'll end up waiting for Blu-Ray.

I thought Titanic was one of the worst movies ever made. Boat sinks every time.

I can't wait to find out your theme! It's gonna rock!

  15. I soooooooooooooo want to see The Pirates!! Oh yes!! I mean ooooh arrrrgh, my pretty, thar be treasure in thar x marking thar spot. Thaaar!!

    Take care

  16. The cabin in the woods looks cool. Real cool. Isn't the Avengers coming out in April now? The trailers I've been saying have an April date all of a sudden.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Gossip Girl, the others haven't come out yet, so you're good.

Jeremy, you've never seen Titanic? Really?

Marta, you are a part of something epic!

Kyra, it looks like a lot of fun.

    Melissa, oh no!!!

Heather, you are a cool uber-geek gamer girl - I like it! And your comment about Titanic made me laugh. And yes, redoing Total Recall is just wrong, even with Kate.

Kitty, it looks like a lot of fun!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Whedon's twist to Cabin the the Woods looks fascinating. And though I like John Cusack, I think I'll wait until DVD for that new film.

    ReplyDelete
  19. So ridiculous that they're releasing Titanic in 3-D. I'm kind of with James McAvoy on that subject...it's just a waste of money and a way for the film industry to get more out of their theater audiences. For shame!

I am super excited about the A-Z challenge, this being my first year. Just hoping I can get a post out there everyday! Except for Sunday, of course. :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. BG enhanced will be on iPad as well? Oh, hell yes.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Joss Whedon Horror Movie? WIN! I want to see that! In fact several of these look pretty good.

Alex, I'm amazed how much you stay on top of. I'm sure Annalisa is thrilled to get a shoutout, even late.

    ReplyDelete
  22. If it wasn't for Whedon I'd probably not be interested in Cabin in the woods. The idea is so cliche, but he might do something cool with it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm a huge Poe fan, (almost died last weekend making the trek to see his Baltimore home), so the concept behind The Raven intrigues me. I'd go see that.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Great ninja news! I can't believe their releasing Titanic again!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm excited to see Cabin in the Woods, and Pirates! I heard David Tennant is in the latter.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I feel bad, bad, bad for pulling out, retired hurt before the A-Z game began.
Annalisa's book is an awesome read, stays with you long after.. (well, if you are the kind of person who thinks a little too much). ;)
I like the looks of Lockout and Raven.
Good luck to all of you, will hop around when health permits.
Btw, liked the last page of Cassastar which means that rest should be good. (I buy books based on the blurb and last two pages, yes, I am weird that way)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Great post Alex! I can't wait to see The Cabin in the Woods and The Raven, they both look exciting. Thank you for sharing! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I noticed that you did not deny using the space/time continuum, blackholes, warp drive, or Deloreans.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Titanic 3-D **shakes head** And you said it right when you said, "Because they can."

Jeepers. Just leave it alone. I don't want to watch Jack die all over again.

Yay....A to Z. I've got my posts ready through M. I'm super excited. LOVE this challenge. :)

    Have a SUPER DAY

    ReplyDelete
  30. Rusty, still May as far as I know.

Alyssia, after the fact 3D effects never look as good either.

    Matthew, a big hell yes!

Hart, I still feel bad I forgot.

Charles, the storyline has such a unique twist.

Rek, we'll miss you for the Challenge. And good to know my book's final pages are good!

Huntress, must maintain some air of secrecy.

    Lynn, good for you!

    ReplyDelete
  31. You forgot American Reunion. If for no other reason, celebrate this one because it'll help remind everyone that Seann William Scott is a comic genius who deserves a ton of recognition. Best thing about Kevin Smith's Cop-Out.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 'Yes, I do sleep. No, I do not have clones. I’m a super Ninja. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.'

    It's official, then!

Congrats to Annalisa on her release -- playin' air guitar in her honor. :)

  33. I am actually considering doing the A-Z blog. With starting a new job, and more travel ahead, I'm just not sure I can handle it.

The trailer for Lockout and The Cabin in the Woods do look incredible. Might take my kids to see The Pirates! next month.

  35. I'll sneak into the Titanic in 3D to see it sinking, then go see another movie. Just found a dollar theatre close to home (I didn;t know they still existed) and will see Hugo 3D (with the kids) then go back and watch Mission Impossible Ghost Protocal (missed it completely) and Chronicle (only saw bits and pieces).

    ReplyDelete
  36. Am I the only one who just says NO to 3-D?

    ReplyDelete
  37. The Raven! "Squawk!" Can't wait for that one! And I'm having slight anxiety over the A-Z Challenge. :(

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thanks again for hosting me on Monday, Alex! The warm reception my book got from your ninja army has definitely sent me into an all-time writerly high this week!

    ReplyDelete
  39. You go ahead and stick to your super Ninja persona. It's quite nice. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Excellent reviews over here we have a TV series on the Titanic wonder if it's the same as the film.

    Yvonne.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks for the shout-out Alex!

I'm really hoping this 3D craze ends soon - I have vertigo and can't watch 3D films, it messes with my head too much. I even had to walk out of Smurfs, which I'd taken my little boy to see :-(

The Pirates looks good to make up for the Smurfs fiasco though!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Your post on the A to Z blog is a must read. I hope participants read it and take heed. In fact every blogger should consider what you said.

  43. ACK! I didn't know we had to have a theme for our A-Z challenge posts. I'll be lucky to get posts done, let alone connect them in any sort of theme. Can you tell how new I am at this and how nervous I am? (smile)

Loved the movie reviews. The Cabin does sound like one I would like to see, if it ever comes to a theatre near me. It's 30 miles to the closest that only has four screens.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yeah, 3-D movies over-promise and under-deliver ... at least in my humble 2D opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Tony, sorry, was not a fan of those movies.

    Suze, it's official.

    Jay, join us! Preschedule posts.

    Karen, hope everyone likes it.

    Stephen, you're way behind!

    Mina, you can do it.

    Jeffrey, that's cool!

    Thanks, Lydia.

    Annalisa, you're welcome.

    Thanks, Lee!

Maryann, you can wing it. No theme rule.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Joss's cabin in the woods has me interested.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yes, The Cabin In The Woods in on my to-be-watched list solely because of Joss Whedon. But it'll likely be a wait for DVD thing as I'm pretty sure I've used up all my movie going time on the Hunger Games.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hey Alex, we could play Diablo 3 together if we are online at the same time. I too am very excited by it :))

    ReplyDelete
  49. omg, do you know how much i would FLIP OUT if they made a good Lies of Locke Lamora movie? I would probably pee my pants.
I love that book so much!!! Twin is reading it right now and i can't wait for her to finish it so we can talk about it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Wow! The Raven looks like an awesome movie.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The magic short posts, if only I'd known.

Hey Alex Star Trek Sci Fi Blog and the GeekTwins are guest posting on each others blogs today. I'm inviting all you guys over to have a squiz.

I just saw The Town with Ben Affleck and a cameo from Pete Postlethwaite, very good cops n robbers flick.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm not really a movie person. There are about 5 movies that I really, really like... and Titanic is one of them! Some spectacular visuals in the movie...
    Mark's interview was hilarious...
so you don't have clones?... well, maybe you have a time-machine of sorts...

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm doing A to Z too. Do you have to have an overall theme? I wasn't aware of that...
As far as the films you posted, I want to see A Cabin in the Woods!

    ReplyDelete
  54. MJ, how many times now?

Michael, if only I did online games!

Sarah, they darn well better do it right.

Spacerguy, I always visit you guys anyway, so I will definitely check it out.

    Michelle, no clones - promise.

    Catherine, no theme required.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I also think The Raven sounds like it could be interesting. I can't wait to hear about your theme! Julie

    ReplyDelete
  56. Is that cabin floating? Is it about aliens? Will there be cowboys?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Joss Whedon's name is all I need to see, and I'm in!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yay for Cabin & Raven!!!
    Nay for Titanic 3D.

What's next? Indiana Jones 3D? Pulp Fiction 3D? Matrix 3D?

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm sort of ready. I already wish I'd done it differently, but next time I'll do better--that is if I survive this year's challenge.

You're not on facebook. Interesting. It drives me bonkers, but my publisher made me do it. Now I'm kind of stuck.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Holly, it does have a science fiction element to it!

    Milo, same here.

Maynard, don't give them any ideas.

CLee, I'm holding out. Besides, I'm busy enough as it is.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ha! Stick to that story all you want. I want proof - LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I usually like things Josh Whedon is involved with and I will be seeing this one. I really want to see Lockout.

    congrats to Annalisa!

  63. Dang. After I read your post about short posts for A to Z, I went to check the two I've already scheduled.

Epic fail! Now I'm going to have to reconsider one of them. The other I can't because it's a book review.

As hubby and I are reading CassaFirE together, he's cracking me up. We have a limited time to read together, and he'll suddenly pop up with a question about Byron and Athee. lol

    ReplyDelete
  64. pirates! saw a preview, looks awesome! love those animators!

and the raven, i can see cusack being creepy.

    thx for the reminders!

ps - you didnt want the clone secret to get out, didja?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hi lex
We all forget things occasion. I do it a lot lately.
    Nancy

    ReplyDelete
  66. I revealed my A to Z theme today. I'm really excited! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

    ReplyDelete
  67. lol about Mark and Cassie, those are two funny people! Wow, there is nothing good coming out in April. I guess that just leaves more time for reading A-Z posts ;)

    ReplyDelete
  68. I know my husband will want to see Lockout. I like your snarky comment about The Raven :-) Oh, excuse me: the critics' comments.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I hadn't heard of the Pirates movie, sounds like a fun one. I love Salma Hayek.
As far as news, I put my dark paranormal free on Amazon through Saturday. :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Oh, I meant to say in my Hunger Games thing (mostly for your benefit) that cliche beats contrived any day, so I enjoyed John Carter much more than Hunger Games in that sense.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Titanic . . not again. Really. I think I'm the only woman in the US who isn't in love with anything DiCaprio - the only movie with him in it that I like is Catch Me If You Can. Plus, Cameron ignored history and went for ungentlemen like behavior for more tension at the end. The guys in those days really did let women and kids get in the lifeboats first.
    Sorry - rant attack there.
Pirates is high on our family list of movies to see in April.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I used to really enjoy horror in...well, it's been a long time ago, now! But you've intrigued me--is this going to be a gory type horror (which I'll pass on) or something different?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Titanic 3D? Just say NOOOOO!
Look forward to your theme reveal
    Lx

    ReplyDelete
  74. Carol, I have a badge in my sidebar from Ali Cross that certifies I am a Ninja.

Donna, I'm glad you're enjoying the read together. Sorry if the short posts thing messes you up.

Tar, I must maintain some air of secrecy!

    Jessica, and yours is cool!

Susan, that is what they are saying.

Tyrean, you probably don't want to see it again in 3D!

Elizabeth, I'm not sure, but it has a wild twist.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yes, sure titanic refills theaters.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think I might want to be locked out of THE CABIN...I love to be surprised. I'm fascinated by both~

Ninja's have many skills, this you have proven~ A Ninja clone would be cool ;D

    Yes,Congrats to Annalisa!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Hi Alex! Just popping over to say hello before the A-Z challenge begins. I would have sworn I was following you already from last year but your follower gadget said I wasn't. Either way I'm following now and can't wait for the fun to begin!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Thanks, Alex, for sharing the movie information. The stars from Titantic don't look the same today, so it's interesting to look back!

    Monti
    Mary Montague Sikes

  79. I confess to not getting the 3D mania. I don't want to have to take a dramamine before watching a movie.

Mark's interview with Cassie Mae was great. I knew you had a secret. ;)

Annalisa's book is great. I really, really liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Ella, I'd put my clone to work!

    Martha, thank you!

Monti, we forget that was thirteen years ago.

Mary, glad that interview amused you!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Anything by Joss Whedon is worth a visit - or 2! :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Mark's blog is my new latest addiction ;)

Annnnd I'm *still* laughing at Cassie's clone theory! Seriously, it's brilliant. And although I still buy the Ninja theory, IDK, the clones are pretty convincing ;)

    ReplyDelete
  83. My roommates have been talking about Diablo 3 for, I swear, 1000 years.

You better believe I'm going to see Titanic in 3D. Because I can.

And I'm super excited for The Cabin in the Woods. If it's got Joss's name on it, I am SO there.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Thanks for the movie list. Sometimes if it weren't for Bloggers, I would not know what was coming out.

Happy A to Z, to all you AtoZheads out there. Good luck and have fun.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Alex: Forgot to tell you. Tim picks Kate as well.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Sooo looking forward to The Pirates! film. I produced a video with Peter Lord from Aardman many years ago - what a great guy. Looking forward to the A-Z - madly trying to write all my posts.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Because death is better in 3D? Not sure about that one...

    ReplyDelete
  88. Greetings Alex,
Firstly, I'm absolutely amazed that you found some time to comment on my last few postings. As we discussed, it can be so time consuming. Indeed, so many friends and so little time. So thanks again for commenting on my site.
I noted on British television that there have been a lot of ads promoting Titanic in 3D. I think I will not bother, although a certain scene of Kate Winslet somewhat undressed, might prove interesting.
All the best with your A to Z. I'm sure your theme will intrigue.
    Take care and happy writing.
    With respect, Gary

    ReplyDelete
  89. Lock out looks so good. I probably won't see any of the rest of them. No one could I sit through Titanic in 3D. I'd get seasick.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Jemi, you got that right!

Morgan, no clones - really! It's all me. And the Ninja skills.

    Karen, so am I!

Whisk, I missed that one then!!!

    Claire, that is so awesome!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Thanks for the news! Ha, my husband despises Guy Pearce for whatever reason. Looks like a new role for him; he seems to always do historical films.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I'm so out of the loop as far as movies. I'll have to depend on you to keep me up to date. I did see the trailer for The Huntsman, and it looks pretty good. The special effects rock!

    ReplyDelete
  93. The Raven and Lockout look awesome! Good luck to all of you in the A to Z challenge. Looking forward to all the great posts that always come of it. :)

    Angela

  94. I'm not much of a Diablo fan, but I'm glad you have something to look forward to! As for my gaming needs, I'll be pre-purchasing Guild Wars 2 on April 10th. :D

    ReplyDelete
  95. Wow! This Sunday already? I'm still on the fence about it. I'm going to be out of town for at least half the month and although I have quite a bit of stuff prepared, I don't think I'll be able to interact with others enough because I won't have internet access for a good portion of that time. I'll probably decide Saturday night... Yikes!

Movies? Titanic 3D is a good example that movie makers are willing to scoop the last penny from our pockets. I hope NOBODY goes to see this gimick... They will though.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Hey, you know I'm sticking to my theory on this one! You are programmed to believe you are just one person. :)

And I'm actually keeping my posts short for A to Z. Can you believe it??

Really. They aren't long at all. High fives for me! haha!

    ReplyDelete
  97. I think Lockout looks good, the Raven takes it for second! Getting excited and a little nervouse about A-Z the mystery is a real buzz!

    ReplyDelete
  98. I'm feeling nervous about the challenge so I look forward to your post about tips tomorrow!

I love your film tips, I haven't been to the cinema in ages. Did you know that Neil Tyson deGrasse noticed that the sky in Titanic, when they've been shipwrecked, is wrong, since he is an astrophysicist and noticed that it wasn't accurate.

    http://blog.moviefone.com/2009/09/15/how-an-astrophysicist-convinced-james-cameron-to-re-edit-titani/

I thought that was kind of cool :)

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hey Borg-man,

Serious thanks for the shout out... that was very kind of you... I *was* wondering where the spike in views came from!!!

    Cheers:)

    ReplyDelete
  100. Ohh some nice movies coming... cabin in the woods looks good.

  101. Alexia, I guess everyone has an actor they don't like no matter what.

Lynn, Snow White and the Huntsman? Yeah, that one looks really good.

Carrie, but you're still a game geek and that is cool!

Pat, join us anyway!! Come on, I'm sure there will be some cool images with your posts.

Cassie, I'll believe that when I see it!

Nikki, there's always some detail that slips by the directors.

Mark, you're welcome, and I'm sure it had as much to do with Cassie as anything else.

  102. What's happening in May? You mean because we'll be too busy in April? :)

Not been to the cinema in so long. I'm sure my 3-yr-old would love the Pirates, as would I!

Anyone else feel a slightly sinister air of cashing in about Titanic 3D? As it's now 100 years since it sunk. Hmm. There's a new TV series in the UK too, but I've not really seen it.

  103. PIrates and Lockout look good but we usually wait for it to come out on DVD. The movies are like 40-50 minutes from where we live and not very convenient.

And yes, to keeping A-z posts short. last year, Ireally didn't read the long ones not when trying to make rounds.

  104. Minus DiCaprio, I thought Titantic was spectacular. It makes my stomach turn to know it's out in 3-D.

I like the premise of The Raven. Too bad it's not good but, I'd be too scared to see that one anyway.

    Be well, Alex.

  105. I'm getting diablo free coz I did the annual thing on warcraft - the mount you get sucks though! Any movie with cartoon pirates is gona be good right!:)

  106. I'm having a slow week. Trying to catch up. Trying to be ready for A to Z. Saw a preview for 'Cabin in the Woods' Are you kidding me? The preview gave me nightmares. The 'Pirates' looks hilarious. "Lockout' has promise. "Titanic' 3-D - get serious.

    See you Sunday.

  107. I must be the only one who's never seen Titanic... why? I was disgusted that they chose to release the original movie on Christmas Day. How horrible is that? I thought it was in very poor taste.

Anyways.... The Pirates sound about my speed.

  108. Oh geez, they're so low on ideas that they have to go and make a murder mystery about Poe?! The pirates movie looks GREAT. Titanic in 3D I can do without, though...

  109. Nick, April might be just a little busy. And I'm sure we're about to see a rush of older movies in 3D.

    Laura, there just isn't time.

Robyn, the critics are really bashing it.

    Anna, lucky you!

Faraway, I like the scary stuff.

Bish, no movie should come out on Christmas Day.

Julie, you'd think with all the great ideas out there they'd come up with more original movies.

  110. Cat & the Dreamer, nice title, I like it.

  111. It's quite sad that I watch Titanic whenever it comes on tv. That pirate movie sounds awesome! Alex, you should write a screenplay. I think of you whenever I watch the Golden Globes. You're such a faithful movie watcher and great writer that you could definitely do it.

  112. I'm a huge Guy Pearce fan so I'll check out Lockout. Can't wait to see Raven either. Love John Cusack.

  113. Alex - LOCKOUT is a must see for me, too. And as much as I loved TITANIC, I won't be seeing it in 3D.

Hope you're doing well. I've finally moved to Boston AND I finally have internet. YAY!!!!

  114. Saumya, thanks for the vote of confidence!

Jai, I really dig Pearce as well.

RaShelle, that is great! We've really missed you here in the blogging world.

  115. I'm really excited about the first three movies on your list (Titanic is one of my all-time favorites...and I have a scare-date with my daughter for Cabin in the Woods). Some great selections for April, when we're not A to Z'ing!

  116. I'm so excited about the A to Z Challenge this year. Such an amazing growth in such a short time.

  117. Cabin in the Woods looks interesting! Here's a funny about The Raven. My 14 year old daughter looked at me at the movies last week and said, "How on earth will they make a 2 hour movie out of poem The Raven? Gotta love the things kids say, still at 14!

  118. DL, gives us a chance to escape the computer for a few hours.

    Patricia, I know!

    Candy, that's funny.

  119. I love Wallace and Gromit and anything that takes me through the foggy streets of Victorian London -I'll have to see "It's a Plunderful Life." Such a cute name. I'm looking forward to reading some of the A-Z challenge entries, although I'm not participating. I have got to finish my editing but keep getting side-tracked!

    ReplyDelete
  120. Lock Out looks good! I bet we'll be going to see that one.

    ReplyDelete
  121. So many people love that Titantic movie that I suppose they feel they can make money on a 3D version (and I'm sure they will), but I thought the movie was depressing.

    Thanks for the movie update.

  123. I ran into a trailer for The Cabin in the Woods earlier today; breaking from the usual horror story sounds interesting, though I'm not really big on horror. :P

No! Not ready for the A-Z yet. LOL. I still have eight or so posts to write and there are only two days left . . . looks like I won't be able to start visiting a lot of blogs yet.

  124. Pirates looks so fantastic... Very stoked to see that one! And I can't wait to read your April posts... Looking forward to the big reveal!

  125. Gwen, the fact that it's British is half the charm.

    Helen, I hope you do.

Cindy, I liked it but see no need for it to be in 3D.

Golden, Cabin in the Woods sounds really original. And still two full days - you can finish those posts!

    LisaAnn - tomorrow!

  126. Too busy to see movies in April, but will check out some for Blu-Ray when they come:) Don't know how I feel about Titanic in 3D yet, my tween wants to see it so maybe . . .~Cheers!

  127. Hey, Alex! How have you been? Sorry I haven't been by. I spend so much time on this pc I hardly see any films anymore. That Cabin in the Woods does look good. So does The Raven. Thanks for the tips.
    Take care.

  128. Do you think they'll remake all the movies in 3D and just stop making new ones...? (I admit I did not read the 128 previous comments. Maybe someone else said the same thing?) I do think 'The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension' would be AWESOME in 3D. Seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  129. That 'Lock Out' trailer is fantastic. Way to make the oldest scene in the movies look fresh and new. I got big hopes for this one.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Hey James! Sorry, it happens. And Cabin in the Woods looks awesome.

Tonja, I can see a lot more coming out, that's for sure.

Cal, I really hope Lockout rocks.

  131. I haven't heard of any of these! (except for The Cabin in the wood - we saw the trailer on tv and hubby yelled "YES!" and I said, "Um. No."

  132. Super excited for Cabin In The Woods, Safe (Gotta love Statham beating up the bad guys!), and The Raven.
