Ninja News, Celebrating Small Things, and the February Movie Preview

Ninja News

Brinda Berry created a trailer for Isis Rushdan’s book, Kindred of the Fallen. Brinda does an awesome job with trailers, and they are debuting it on both sites today, so check it out!

The sign up list for the A to Z Challenge opened on Wednesday, and we are on our way to five hundred already. If you haven’t signed up yet, go HERE. And for those of you wondering how to plan for the Challenge, Clare Dugmore posted her topics for both of here blogs HERE and HERE. Now that is organized and prepared!!

In the excitement of the Challenge list opening, I forgot to mention next week’s Wednesday Movie Quote genre – crime thriller.
Thanks to those of you who are playing along!

Next Wednesday is also the next posting for the Insecure Writer’s Support Group, and my co-hosts are Stephen Tremp and Julie Flanders.

Celebrate the Small Things

“Celebrate the Small Things” is hosted every Friday by VikLit.

This week I celebrate a breakthrough on my third book’s back cover synopsis, thanks to Rusty Webb. I still haven’t been able to make the appropriate changes because my publisher returned my manuscript this week and I’ve been working on the revisions. But that’s cool – CassaStorm is one step closer to reality!

February Movie Preview

Here are the upcoming movies for February! As always, descriptions courtesy of the IMDB. Snarky comments by me.

1 -

Warm Bodies
After R (a highly unusual zombie) saves Julie from an attack, the two form a relationship that sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world.
Director: Jonathan Levine
Stars: Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, John Malkovich, Analeigh Tipton
Zombie love sounds icky – things could fall off.
Yeah, I’ll admit I’m curious about this movie.

Bullet to the Head
After watching their respective partners die, a New Orleans hitman and a Washington D.C. detective form an alliance in order to bring down their common enemy.
Director: Walter Hill
Stars: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Momoa, Christian Slater, Sung Kang
Watching a sixty-six year old man kick ass teeters between impressive and sad.

Stand Up Guys
A pair of aging con men try to get the old gang back together for one last hurrah before one of the guys takes his last assignment -- to kill his comrade.
Director: Fisher Stevens
Stars: Al Pacino, Alan Arkin, Christopher Walken, Julianna Margulies
Dig that Alan Arkin – the guy is hilarious.

8 -

Side Effects
A woman turns to prescription medication as a way of handling her anxiety concerning her husband's upcoming release from prison.
Director: Steven Soderbergh
Stars: Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum, Jude Law, Catherine Zeta-Jones
Guessing this isn’t the feel good movie of the year.

15 -

A Good Day to Die Hard
John McClane travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack, only to discover that Jack is a CIA operative working to prevent a nuclear-weapons heist, causing the father and son to team up against underworld forces.
Director: John Moore
Stars: Bruce Willis, Jai Courtney, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Patrick Stewart
Yippee-Ki-Yay Mother Russia! That’s right – that never grows old.

22 -

Dark Skies
As the Barret family's peaceful suburban life is rocked by an escalating series of disturbing events, they come to learn that a terrifying and deadly force is after them.
Director: Scott Charles Stewart
Stars: Keri Russell, Josh Hamilton, Dakota Goyo, J.K. Simmons
Please tell me this will rise above every genre cliché known to man…
However the preview says – not so much.

Snitch
A father goes undercover for the DEA in order to free his son who was imprisoned after being set up in drug deal.
Director: Ric Roman Waugh
Stars: Dwayne Johnson, Susan Sarandon, Jon Bernthal, Rafi Gavron
The Rock doesn’t have the best track record with movies. This film probably won’t change that.

Have you signed up for the Challenge yet? (And do you have a theme?) Ready for the IWSG? What are you celebrating this week? Any of those movies interest you? And who do you think will win the Super Bowl on Sunday? (Even Mini-Alex will be watching…)

And Monday I will finally reveal my next blogfest on March 18!!

I so want to join the A to Z this year, but I just don't know if I have the time to post every day for a month. It would be great fun though, and even if I don't participate, I'll be there visiting other people anyway.

Kyra Lennon said...

I think Warm Bodies looks great, and I'm not usually a big zombie fan!

Mark Means said...

I'm looking forward to the A to Z Challenge blogfest...should be fun :)

Best of luck on CassaStrom, as well.

"Yippe Kai Yay, Mother Russia"...lol...I like that. Not so sure about the movie, but that line, I do like!

Tonja Drecker said...

Ah! I still have to sign up for the blog fest. But you guys shouldn't give me things to choose from - I'm terrible with such decisions (actually, it's a great idea, it's just me ;) )

Empty Nest Insider said...

Glad A to Z is off to a great start! Stand Up Guys and Side Effects look interesting from the previews. I am also an Alan Arkin fan, and think his scenes with John Goodman made Argo. Julie

I have signed up for the A to Z, know my theme though I am still hoping I can get my music up and running.

Look forward to read about your next blogfest.

Yvonne.

Very cool that it's nearly 500 Bloggers. Amazing, really. And yikes to all of you that will read that many posts in one day.

That's a whole lot of reading.

Michelle Wallace said...

I've already signed up for the A to Z....
I'm almost ready with my post for IWSG
I've just posted my Celebration post! Yay!

Miranda Hardy said...

My kids are excited to see Warm Bodies, so I might be checking that out this weekend. lol

Hope you have a great weekend, Alex!

Elizabeth Spann Craig said...

I like the idea of celebrating the small things. Congrats on the back cover copy!

Hmm. Feb. doesn't look like a great month for me for movies...

Gossip_Grl said...

I'll be watching the superbowl to see the commercials, but have no favorite to win. The A-Z list keeps growing. Are they predicting another record breaking year?

Brinda said...

Thank you for helping spread the word about the trailer.

When I saw the Bullet to the Head commercial, I commented to my husband about Sylvester Stallone's age. He doesn't look bad.

Unknown said...

I saw the preview of Warm Bodies at the movies recently - it looks like a fun take on the Zombie experience!

Sounds like Cassa Storm is getting closer!

Natalie Aguirre said...

Sounds like A-Z Challenge has lots of sign-ups already. Congrats! I'll be a reader, not a participant since it doesn't fit with our blog.

Not sure I'm excited about any of the February movies. Happy Friday!

Elise Fallson said...

I'm not ready for anything! Not ready for IWSG, not ready for Nick's bloghop, and haven't yet signed up for A-Z. *spontaneously combusts*

Annalisa Crawford said...

A Good Day to Die Hard is out on Valentine's Day in the UK. Hubby thinks this will make a great date. To be honest, it'll be the first time in forever we've celebrated Valentine's Day!

Jeremy [Retro] said...

I am so in for... Die Hard, it's one of those people who are in the right place at the wrong time.. and when that happens, things explode.

Challenge accepted!

Unknown said...

Alex - such a good Friday wrap-up. I'm slowly coming out of my flu coma. It had me all fuzzy and forgetful and lazy!

Can't fit in the AZ challenge. I have until April to decide though, right?

Yippie ki-damn-yay is right, Mother Lover! Another Die Hard!

What's the last thing that "Julie" wants to hear from "R" after a night of zombie love? "Keep the tip."

Ciara said...

I'm signed up for A-Z. I can't wait to get started. I hope to have all my posts ready by March 15th. :)

I'm hoping the new Die Hard flick is good.

Susan Fields said...

I can't wait to see Side Effects - love the cast!

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Imogen, you never know until you try.

Mark, I can't claim it though - that is the tagline floating around the Internet.

T, you don't have to have a category code - just sign up!

Julie, yes they did!!!

Whisk, doubt I will read more than 150 a day!

Gossip, with the sign ups so far, we're hoping to go over 2000.

Brinda, you're welcome. And no, not bad for his age.

Elise, no!! Don't explode.

Annalisa, better take advantage of that.

ML, glad you are feeling better and yes you still have two months to decide.

Old Kitty said...

Cap'n Alex!??! No romantic films for February?!?! Awwww come on!!! It's February! It's the month for lurve and roses and chocolates and Daniel Craig..

:-)

Take care

Rusty Carl said...

I'm all signed up. Not sure what I'll do. It's funny about the Rock - folks love him to death but he seems to pick movies that no one wants to see.

Rick Daley said...

I need to sign up. Last eyar my theme was movies, this year: music.

Laura Pauling said...

For me these days, it's so hard to find a movie that appeals to me. :( I do enjoy reading books that have been turned into movies, so I'd like to read Warm Bodies.

Unknown said...

I can't wait for the challenge! Also, I'll give you crime thriller trivia a go next week. Have a great weekend. Thanks for the look into movies.

Melissa said...

Another Die Hard? Yippee-ki-yay! :)

Laura Eno said...

Like Rusty, I'm puzzled about Rock's popularity/stinker movies.
All signed up for A to Z!
Stallone, Willis,...we don't have any younger action heroes?
The superbowl is for watching commercials and eating junk food. :)

Al Diaz said...

Looking forward for your cover reveal. And go 49ers! :D

Rachna Chhabria said...

I am going to do major revisions from tonight. Alex, this year I will try my best to do the A to Z Challenge.

Yes, I am ready for IWSG, it will be my second post.

Madeline Mora-Summonte said...

Forget upcoming movies - I'm waiting for The Walking Dead to return next week! :)

But now I do kind of want to go back and watch some of those old Die Hard movies...

Karen Baldwin said...

I'm pretty sure I'm going to sign up. I wish there was a way to put a "I read your blog and am following you now" one-click button on those participating. It would make cruising through them easy. Have a great weekend. Go Superbowl Commercials!!

Hilary Melton-Butcher said...

Hi Alex - I'll sign up soon for the A - Z .. I'm looking forward to it though ...

Can't say the films interest me - still got lots to see here .. Lincoln, Les Mis ...

... and your weekend of The Game gives us some interesting posts and food to eat or snack on ..

Enjoy watching with the gooseberry as mini-Alex will be the 3rd in your home! Cheers Hilary

Luanne G. Smith said...

Ooh, I gotta go see the book trailer for Isis's book.

And, wow, zombie love. Just imagine the dog breath on one of those things. Blech.

mshatch said...

I signed up almost as soon as the list was put up - could hardly wait! And I'm afraid you're right about those movies. None look particularly impressive except maybe the zombie one but there is that ick factor...

cleemckenzie said...

I heard the director talk about his experience directing Arkin, Pacino and Walken. They more or less created the script as they went. This is a must see on my list.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Kitty, Die Hard is romantic!

Rusty, that made me laugh.

Rick, that sounds good.

Clarissa, knew that one would get your attention.

Laura, that also made me laugh! And they just don't do action films like they used to.

Madeline, join me - I got the four-pack set of Die Hard movies for Christmas.

LG, ick!

M.J. Fifield said...

I am embarrassingly excited for the new Die Hard movie.

And the zombie love story really just creeps me out. But hey, to each their own.

One step at a time...good luck with your book!Gotta love Stallone and Willis...and of course, looking very forward to the A - Z Challenge :) Best of Friday to you!

I am not, I repeat NOT a zombie person. But I am definitely going to Warm Bodies.

This week, I bought the book, Warm Bodies, by Isaac Marion and could not put it down. Highly recommend.

Charles Gramlich said...

I'll definitely see "Bullet to the head" and the new Die hard.

J.L. Campbell said...

Thanks for the round-up. Checking out the trailer.

jaybird said...

I'm struggling to find a movie I can bring my kids to this month...not sure if there is anything that wouldn't scare them.

I think Clare is the most inspiring, amazing, organized A-Z blogger I have ever come across. She's fantastic.

All I'm predicting for this year's Superbowl is lots and lots of food, fun and good times at the Bird's Nest, no matter who wins.

Have a great weekend Alex.

Tonja said...

I didn't know Brinda made trailers. That's fun.

Unknown said...

Five hundred already. That just beggars the imagination. One of my gamer buddies, The Laughing Ferret did it last year and his posts were fantastic. I haven't seen him in months and miss his work. Great talented bloke.

Bruce Willis is the epitome of the male species. Ooooh I adore that man.

Karen Jones Gowen said...

Ahhhh, don't tempt me to sign that form!!! I can't, I won't, ahhhh, so tempted!

Andrew Leon said...

Crime thriller? Does that even exist anymore? gah!

Rachel Schieffelbein said...

My husband is known around here as 'the zombie guy' but he's more of a zombie traditionalist. He didn't think he'd be up for a zombie love story, until he saw the preview. He had to admit it looks pretty funny. :)

Heather M. Gardner said...

Huh. Not too thrilled with any of the movies coming out. Well, I'll always watch Bruce just for fun. :)

Happy Friday.

Who are you going with for Sunday?

This blog fest always entertains. I visited over 500 blogs last year. I'm shooting for 800 this year. Stallone looks great. He must have been in the gym for months.

Tara Tyler said...

a lot of kick butt, non romantic movies for feb!
(and when we went to the hobbit, the trailers were leaning toward an apocalyptic/sci fi summer!)

brinda is the best!
stand up guys ha an awesome cast!
yay die hard! die til your dead, bruce!

Robyn Campbell said...

Warm bodies looks sooo good, Alex! I'm not so enthused about Snitch though.

Probably not joining A to Z this year. I have to get my novel finished. I've just started the LAST draft. So. I bet you get where I'm coming from. But I'll visit the blogs. I've done it the past three years. It was so much fun and such a challenge.

I hope the Ravens will win. (They beat the Pats and that has endeared them to this die hard Dolphin fan) But I THINK SF will win.

Great to see you, pal. I wish I'd entered the Ninja Army T-shirt contest. Congrads Julie! Ha. It looks bodacious.

Happy weekend. (I'm fixing lots of good food for Sunday night.) :-)

Unknown said...

I love book trailers! I'll have to check out Brinda's.

Yes, where are the love movies Alex? Safe Haven. is coming out this month, it's a love story. Although it and Stand Up Guys are on the least anticipated movie list :/

Roland D. Yeomans said...

I'm interested in WARM BODIES. Feb. is usually a lukewarm month for movies so I am not surprised by the roll call. May A-Z be all you wish it to be this year! :-)

Summer Ross said...

I signed up for the challenge- Yikes!

And the line up of movies- I think the only one I'd be interested in is Die Hard. What can i say Bruce Willis is the man!

Rusty Carl said...

I'm glad I made you laugh today. I forgot to mention previously that I appreciate the public recognition on the blurb thing. You're awesome.

S.A. Larsenッ said...

Just saw the official sign ups for A to Z. Whoot!!! Can't wait.

Not sure why, but I just have to see WARM BODIES. I'm going with my daughter. :)

I'm totally seeing Warm Bodies tonight. I can't wait!

Elsie Amata said...

I am so excited! I have my IWSG post written and ready to go. I feel like an old pro at this (even though it's only my second one he he he). Thanks, Alex!!!

Unknown said...

Warm Bodies looks like it could really be entertaining. I'm curious to see Side Effects, too, but I'll wait for it to come out on video. Have a great weekend!

Tyrean Martinson said...

I'm signed up and ready to go with fencing and swordplay terminology from A to Z. (I changed my topic on Wednesday) Most of the movies don't interest me this month, or at least not enough to pay the price of a ticket stub, and hooray for the next Alex fest!

Michael Offutt, Phantom Reader said...

I will be seeing Warm Bodies and the Dwayne Johnson movie (big surprise). I haven't been to the movies much lately because here in SLC, we've had very polluted air due to an inversion. So, I've been going home and just staying in and out of the cold. I even bought an air purifier that helped a lot.

TerryLynnJohnson said...

Dwayne is great in everything he does! His charisma shines through - unfortunately, he doesn't pick the best films.
But seriously - how can you go wrong with the Scorpion King

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Lee, wise director not to stop them.

Optimistic, perfect for Valentine's Day!

Huntress, I've heard it's good.

Jaybird, there is one kid's film coming out, but don't remember the name.

Anne, that last bit made me laugh.

Karen, do it!!!!

Andrew, my quote will be from The Usual Suspects.

Heather, let's just say if the Ravens were playing Satan, I'd pick the Ravens, but I would have to think about it first...

Maurice, I think you visited as many as I did last year.

Tara, your last line is great!

Robyn, I understand. And the weekend will be fun regardless.

Jenn, Die Hard is a love story.

Summer, glad you're on board!

Rusty, you made it click. Just need time to fix it. After the edits!

Elsie, that's great!

Tyrean, cool topic!

Michael, that does not sound healthy!!

LynnRush said...

Wow. That trailer ROCKS! Yay!! Not too sold on the movies coming out. What's up with all the old action heroes coming out with movies? Don't we have any NEW blood who can kick butt and take names like old guys? LOL!!!

I love the ROCK. but you're right...Not sure on this SNITCH story. But you do get to see his muscles!!

Joylene Nowell Butler said...

Thanks for the reviews, Alex. It helps when deciding what to watch. I was wondering what you thought of "The Following" and "Do No Harm". They're the newest TV series starting. Seems late to bring in new shows, eh?

Laura Clipson said...

I have a couple of topics in mind for the a to z, haven't decided which one to use yet :)

Anonymous said...

I've signed up already. Also, can't wait to see WARM BODIES.

Sheena-kay Graham said...

Signed up for A-Z. Congrats on your back cover synopsis Alex. I'm definitely seeing Warm Bodies. I'd consider Bullet in the Head if I wasn't on a budget. Will be watching Hansel and Gretel tomorrow so I'm excited about that. Have a great weekend.

George Beremov [Nebular] said...

Warm Bodies, Side Effects, and Dark Skies are the February releases I'm most looking forward to.

Tony Laplume said...

The intrigue of Snitch is as much The Rock as it is Jon Bernthal, in one of his first post-Shane (who totally stole the second season of The Walking Dead) roles.

Tasha Seegmiller said...

I don't know about A-Z this year. Still debating.

I do think, however, that I will probably not see a movie this month. None of these look very good...

Writer Pat Newcombe said...

I'd love to join the a-z challenge but I must my diary and the objectives I already have are so time consuming... Still, I may just be able to do it...

SC Author said...

Congrats on the synopsis! And I want to watch some of those movies. They look really good.

Nancy Thompson said...

Yep, #154 on the list! Now to determine a workable theme. Side Effects looks pretty good. I never go to the movies to "feel good" but rather to be entertained & get my heart racing. My home team, the SF Niners, are going to take the Super Bowl! I can't wait!! And neither can I wait to see what your next blogfest will be! Have a great weekend, Alex!

randi lee said...

Congrats on your small thing this week! "One step closer" is one of my favorite feelings :D

Julie Flanders said...

I'm going with the Niners for the Super Bowl win, I love Kaepernick. Hope you and mini-Alex enjoy!

And big congrats on the back cover synopsis progress, that had to be a great feeling!

SK Anthony said...

Yay for that synopsis breakthrough!!!

I think Warm Bodies look interesting too, I have to go convince my husband to go watch it... lol

Cherie Reich said...

Theme ready for A-Z. I just need to finish writing the posts. :)

I have no clue who might win the Super Bowl, but I'll likely cheer for the Ravens.

LD Masterson said...

Hmm. Teenage zombies or senior citizen shoot-em-ups. I'm thinking this will be a Netflix month for me.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Terry, he did do Fast Five, and that was a great flick.

Lynn, it is odd all the old action stars are all doing movies right now.

Joylene, January seems to be the new trend. I'm giving The Following one more week to grab me...

Tasha, join us!!

Nancy, I hope they win.

The Angry Lurker said...

Die hard 5 and Stand Up Guys stand out for me and I'll try to stay awake for the game but hopefully San Francisco.

M Pax said...

It is an awesome trailer!

Seems were in the same place... although, mine is more editing than revisions.

I'm terrible at remembering movies. And I thought I'd gotten drunk w/o my knowledge when I saw the ad for the new Die Hard... especially since there's a new Stallone out.

Robin said...

Of the movies, I would probably go with the Die Hard movie. I am a fan. I have seen all of the previous ones (and have them all on DVD). So, there you go. My second choice would be Stand Up Guys. That looks like it will be funny. Top notch actors in that one. Love all those guys.

Anonymous said...

These movies sounds pretty interesting--Warm Bodies catches my eye the most. Zombies freak me out, but maybe this is enough of a twist.

I'm off to check out Brinda's trailer work. I'm sure Isis is thrilled!

Gwen Gardner said...

I look at Bruce Willis and think, "What the heck is wrong with Demi Moore"?! Seriously...okay, moving on.

I signed up for the A-Z and already have a theme in mind. I will definitely start pre-writing the posts soon so I don't get too stressed out about it. So excited, too! Thanks Alex :)

Johanna Garth said...

I gotta say, February seems a little bleak as far as the movie scene goes. Good thing it's a short month.

I have been looking forward to Warm Bodies since last year. I read the book after a friend recommended it and loved it. The movie doesn't look to shabby either.

Ted Cross said...

Yay! I'm in A Good Day to Die Hard in a couple of places, though since I'm only an extra, you probably won't be able to notice me. I hope I'm visible enough to be able to do screen captures (if I can figure out how to do that!) and post them on my blog.

Tamara said...

I am so excited for Warm Bodies because I loved that book!! And my husband is waiting for Good Day to Die Hard. (no surprise there!)

I did not know Patrick Stewart was going to be in 'A Good Day to Die Hard'. I think I just got tricked into seeing this film.

Hi Alex,

Your blog is almost like a magazine of glossy, informative links of which I'm grateful to note.

The Challenge? Thanks, but no thanks. Of course, you already knew that about me :)

I think the 49er's will win. However, did you know that Baltimore already has a unique sporting claim to fame? What's that then? Okay, if you didn't know, Baltimore can claim two trophies in its sporting history. The Baltimore Colts Super Bowl win.
The Baltimore Stallions Grey Cup win in 1995. How about that!

Enjoy our weekend.

Gary

Working on revisions is definitely cause for celebration! I'm jealous, but happy for you. :)

Well, looks like some mindless action movies in my near future. I am curious about the Stallone movie. He really is in his 60's. Looking forward to Die Hard as long as they stick to the formula.

And, I am not sure about Side Effects, but Steve Soderbergh is pretty brilliant, so I will see it.

I loved Claire's organization...now I will have to see it through.

Okay for the movies, I will see:

Bullet To The Head - I am all in with Sly till he croaks!

Stand Up Guys - Pachino, Walken, and Arkin...even if it is cheesy fluff, I love these guys.

Good Day To Die Hard - Willis, same as Sly...will watch anything he is in.

Snitch - Just to watch The Rock kick ass...good enough for me.

You can tell I am a really shallow Hal movie viewer!

I think the only movie I want to see is Side Effects. The zombie movie looks kind of funny, but I have a low level for gross-out tolerance and so I just can't handle zombies.

I'm so glad you've had a breakthrough on your synopsis -- I can write several chapters faster than I can a brief one of those.

I won't be able to watch any of these movies as I have kids who are into Taylor Swift. We will watch a movie marathon at the $2 dollar theatres with Wreck It Ralph and Hotel Transylvania.

Somebody help me!!!

I'm glad that I'm finally back in the world of books and blogs.

I agree with you that it is important to celebrate the small things.

I'm really happy that today I will have time to write my first post after three weeks.

Sydney, mindless action films are fun sometimes.

Chuck, no! You just like what my wife calls the manly stuff.

Stephen - you wanted kids!!! Live with it.

Edi, and glad you are back!

I'm celebrating a writing competition win this week. Feeling jolly smug!

I love Bruce Willis! He's still sexy.

You're right - Clare is really organized! Good luck with your revisions!

"Watching a sixty-six year old man kick ass teeters between impressive and sad."

So true! :)

I agree with 'Warm Bodies' too, not really excited about love between those two, but the newspaper reviewer, loved it. Go figure. Love with the dead is now all the norm...gosh that's gross when you think about it...don't think about it!

I'm doing a research/resource theme. There shall be linkage abound! ;)

As I write this, only 4 more signups needed for 500. I'm not sure about any of those February movies.

Susan Kane said...

Thanks for weeding out the film selection for me. My husband would go to see alllll of those, and find them acceptable.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Yolanda, not thinking about it!

Susan, I find most of them acceptable...

I'm looking forward to Stand Up Guys. Possibly Die Hard. That's about it.

Didn;t you see Tooth Fairy? The Rock rocks in cute little pixie wings. You can;t handle the tooth!

I'll look for the blogfest and see if I can sign up.

Brinda is a fantastic techie and trailer maker.

Shannon Lawrence said...

Theme, yes, if I can pull it off.

I have to admit, I like The Rock and Sly.

Love Alan Arkin!

And I'm intrigued by the idea of the zombie movie. It's that next step that's always hinted at, but never pursued: coming back out of the zombie-ism.

Signed up, bright eyed and bushy tailed. It'll be great to see Picard, kicking around in a Good Day to Die Hard

Marta Szemik said...

Jealous of all the people signing up for April. Hope I can do it too.
I read Warm Bodies a couple years ago. It was pretty cool and from the previews, they did a good job.

Leovi said...

Side Effects, I think the most interesting of the week.

Warm Bodies looks hilarious -- as does the new Die Hard. I can't wait to see Bruce Willis kick arse with a cane one of these days...But he still manages to rock it. Looper was awesome.

D.G. Hudson said...

Hey - if the young guys can't do it, the old experienced guys can!

I always like Bruce Willis movies, so I'll want to see this latest movie. Isn't this the one Ted C. got to have fun with?

Family has been taking a lot of my time lately, so I'm late commenting. Excuses, excuses.

I loved your news... I'm also very excited about the A-Z contest. I will be back to see more from you. Very cool blog!

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Stephen, no I can't handle it.

Shannon, good point.

Marta, I hope you can join us. We've missed you.

Milo, Looper was indeed awesome!

DG, yes it is! He has a couple tiny scenes.

Shawn, thanks!

Must see Warm Bodies!

You know, when you say that out loud, it causes an interesting reaction from the people around you. :)

James Garcia Jr said...

Hey, Alex. I saw the teaser for Warm Bodies last year and immediately fell for it. I hope it's good. I'm looking forward to the new Die Hard film, and Side Effects looks very good.

I'm looking forward to Warm Bodies. It's not my normal kind of movie, but it looks like it's got enough of the silly in it to pull it off. Here's hoping!

I wouldn't pay to see each one of those movies, but I'd watch them all for sure. I'm going to have to once again pass on the AtoZ challenge because of time constraints, but I'll still be checking out blogs I don't know about who did sign up...
