Tech Stuff - XBox, iPad, etc.

Just a quick update on some devices!

The Xbox 360 will soon possess USB storage. (Caught this on Attack of the Show, who credits Joystiq.) The softward update is scheduled for this spring and allows users to store Xbox Live Arcade. Live Indie games, etc. On the down side, the USB device used will only allow one to use 16 GB once formatted for the Xbox.
As they noted, Playstation 3 has always had USB capability!

Attack of the Show also reviewed the Dell Adamo laptop, which at .4" is the world's thinest computer. (That IS thin!) With 4 gigs of RAM and a pricetag of $2000, they gave it a four out of five.

And in the world of the iPad...
Presales started last weekend and the device goes on sale April 3. Helen over at Straight From Hel had posted earlier this week that Barnes & Noble announced an app for the iPad that would allow users to read B&N eBooks on the unit. That also becomes available on April 3.
And yes, I have decided - I'm buying an iPad! Probably not the day it comes out, but sometime in April. Can't wait for version 2. What if they never put Flash on the device?
Need my tech stuff!

I will still balk, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I wouldn't say no to running my hands on its shiny-shininess, though. :-)

I'll let you all know.

Summer, I will try hard to describe that sensation for you.

Okay, I still can't make up my mind whether to get an iPad or not. I'm a bookie and I'd rather hold a real paperback in my hands, but these newfangled reading contraptions sound interesting. (And I sound like I'm 50.) I might have to borrow somebody's and give it a try, but I'm still debating with myself. Let me know how you like yours!

You'll have to keep us posted on how well the other features of the iPad work. For me that will determine if I buy one.

I'd like an iPad or some e-reader, but I'm not ready to spend the money. I may get to use one, though, since my DH is about ready to buy one. He's trying to figure out which one. He travels a lot and is tired of lugging books around or trying to find something in the airport bookstore.

Why have you decided on the iPad as your e-reader?

Thanks for these product reviews. this post certainly goes well with what I put up today on my blog, too. (wink)

Julie, I like physical books as well. The iPad is a glorified iTouch, one of which I already own. But it's bigger, with a word-processing feature, and the eReader. So I gotta go for it!

CC, I will let you know!

Helen, I'm going with this one because it's so much more than a reader. As I told Julie, it's a large iTouch, so it has all those features as well. And the fact it can take any format but the Kindle works for me.

Yes, I saw that this morning, Marvin!

Very cool, Alex! I can't wait to hear what you think of your iPad. Keep us updated on that tech - it's something we all need to know! Thanks for posting!

The PS3 has USB storage? Why has my stupid husband not explored this option? Damn.

I think I need to go to some tech classes or courses :)

Miller, I will tell the world when I get one!

Hagelrat, that made me laugh out loud! You need to get on him.

Dez, time to expand your knowledge?
